CHAPTER 2, ACT1B: PAYBACK TIME

'God, these people have no strategic sense whatsoever.' Was Blight feeling a little frustrated? Kind of. What started out as a solid push against enemy forces quickly devolved into a complete clusterfuck. Clearly, no one had any intentions of listening to him. They were all doing their own thing. He had no idea what Leyton specifically was doing, getting himself wrapped up in some serious shenanigans. It couldn't be helped, though. Blight wasn't here to excuse other people's idiocy. He had a bloody job to do, for fuck's sake. They all did. So what was he gonna do now, exactly?

Keeping his eyes on the scene, it appeared as though Claire and her partner were heading off on their own. From what he could tell, she was leading an insurgency group to penetrate the inner circle of the enemy's army. 'Good to see someone playing it smart.' Walter, the Antylamon, even had the courtesy to save Leyton, who Blight had already ditched for lack of caring. Obasi and his Angemon seemed to follow. When the Nukemon heard Claire utter the term 'strong,' he wasn't exactly expecting a troupe of Champion levels. Oh well. They seemed to be fine. If he had his way, he'd tell those morons to focus on the outliers while he took the middle. "Fine, do your things, kids. Watch for Claire's group" he ordered, hoping the Kerai would begin to take care of the other insects beginning to swarm her. He'd somehow managed to forget how important to Shin Sekai she was, especially as a member of the Horsemen. A well of bitterness rose in his chest as he wondered, 'Why didn't I get chosen?' In any case, Blight was going to put that jealousy to good use and kick some serious ass instead.

It was about this time that he took notice of Depthmon and his former fighting partner, Angeli. Okay. Two other guys. Good. As his speed increased, he decided that he would move to take out Legstrong's strategist. Nukemon hovered over to Angeli first, delivering her the news. "Hey girl, I'm gonna go after that Searchmon. Call me back down if you need me, kay? Wish Mrs. Fishy good luck, too. I'll come back when I can." He then proceeded very briefly to Matthew and Margot to give them a salute. "Man, I got respect for a mermaid that will fight on land." He said this in passing. With any luck, the duo had heard him; it would be a nice compliment coming from such an asshole. Yep, a thousand props to someone with balls like that.

With that, Blight zipped to the rooftops, using the holographic screen as a waypoint for his goal. With his current speed boost, flying past the other insect Digimon was a breeze. He'd punch a few of 'em along the way - just for good measure. He didn't waste time with an actual attack, though. Gotta go! It was an emergency! He was on a time sensitive mission, after all. At last, the Ultimate reached his objective. He spied on the rooftop from a fairly close distance, maintaining a steady idle mid-air. "How's this for a can of Raid, you buzzy little shits?!" he sneered. Blight pulled something from the metal pouch on his side. With a gentle tap, the object enlarged, revealing a sizeable bomb in his palm.

"Fat Boy!"

Lining himself up like a pro baseball player, Blight pitched the bomb at Searchmon, looking to blow him - and Tentomon - up at once. He kept his Critical Core in reserve, just in case he decided he wanted to throw a really, really big bomb next time. These guys were totally in for it. 'Good luck dodging, assholes!'

How long had passed since she had left Blight behind and went on her special assignment for her Master? Perhaps an hour at best, but by the time she returned Reikiko found Triton City in a state of true chaos. Although the defiant efforts of the local Kerai, led by the Titans and Claire Lyon had helped force most of the swarm's departure, the girl found that there was something oddly absent: Every swarm had a leader, and in this particular scenario the Hive Leader had yet to appear, something that amused the girl a great deal. It meant the Shin-Sekai were being underestimated and judging from the high vantage point she and Kera had, it was easy to guess that the muscular man on the streets below was responsible for this chaos. Perhaps it was time for her to lend her companions a hand.

"First to occupy that nasty buzz army."

A simple sweeping gesture was made as Captain Legstrong would likely notice the sky growing even more darker than before, but this time it was not the result of a swarm of bugs dotting the sky, it was that of a giant Skullgreymon descending from the skyscraper, intending to crush the swarm that accompanied the man, before the bone titan raised a fist in the hope of crushing the man himself.

"You really are a troubling presence sir~"

A cheerful voice resounded from nearby, a distortion in the air revealing the shademon-clad champion of Triton City emerge from the portal, accompanied by a large Armagemon.

"To risk having Master Crow miss one of his favorite shows by attacking the city is one thing but..."

A pout followed as she placed her arms on her hips and declared in a tone that clearly suggested her annoyance at the situation.

"You actually disrupted my chance at having a date! I was supposed to spend an entire weekend with a really fascinating girl, and instead I'm here surrounded by icky bugs and ickier men."

Yet the sight of the approaching Lady Claire made her eyes sparkle with excitement.

"At least Lady Claire makes this a little bit more bearable~ Could I perhaps propose a retreat good sir? Or shall I have to kill you first and send you back in a bodybag?"

The tone never ceased its cheery and upbeat nature while the Armagemon took a step forwards, clearly not planning to mess around today. Kera knew all too well that disrupting a potential date for Reikiko was a BAD idea. Look at Kuro, he disrupted her fun with Astoria and now he was among the fallen! Poor Kuro, should have known better than to get between a lesbian and her prey.

Albeit, in a way the Shin-Sekai could breathe a sigh of relief, the cavalry had arrived!

CAPTAIN LEGSTRONG IS REPORTING FOR DUTY!

For CLAIRE LYON and similar like-minded individuals, their efforts were rewarded by once more pushing back the swarm. It did not help a Dark Ultimate-level has arrived on the scene... and frankly, the mere sight of the giant lapine tearing apart their comrades was enough to least send the others scurrying. Faust  and Margot's own acts of violence directed toward the insects was not going unappreciated either. The final nail on the coffin for the swarm's morality was the unexpected arrival of Reikiko Tsukino  and her own giant bug of destruction was more than enough to send most of the swarm CLEAR away from the area.

Blight definitely had the right idea beelining towards the enemy's source of info; having caught the building that Strat and the Searchmon were on; quickly tossing a bomb towards the two insect Digimon. A flawlessly executed maneuver... if it were not for the Rookie level suddenly evolving into a MUCH larger iteration of the mook Kabuterimons in the swarm, the overgrown insect catching the bomb with a claw; cracking it in his hands. "Sorry, is this yours? Here, have it back." The large, blue insect would say in a awfully polite manner before quickly chucking the weapon straight back at the Nukemon.

Arriving shortly on to the scene was Arnold himself; backed by a swarm of about 10 or so Kabuterimon (with more on the way) and a large supply of Tentomon. The bald man chuckled with surprising heartiness at the radioactive Digimon, admiring his tenacity. "Hoho! Good shot green fellow! Not good enough!" Clearly, this was not going to be a job for just 1 Ultimate level, the Champion levels now accompanying Strats and his tamer launching a barrage of electricity at Blight.

More disturbing however was the leading Kabuterimon (still wearing a pair of shades) began to build up a heavy amound of electricity across his 4 arms; the clouds overhead the city suddenly darkening ominously. Rain began to suddenly wash down; electric strikes of lightning raining erratically down below; at least 2 bolts aiming at both Walter and Margot. One unfortunate group of Kerai Vemmon were vaporized into data by one bolt, giving a clear indication that this was not some normal thunderstorm.

As for Leyton Thomson ... well, before the Spirit Wielder could actually initiate his transformation; his human-form would prove to be VERY squishy, something he would quickly find as the stinger-tipped tail of a Scorpiomon... no wait, SkullScorpiomon pierced directly through the boy's chest; instantly ending Cronus's song. The insect Digimon finally came out of the shadows, accompanied by two other Digimon.

"OY. Bros, look at what I ere' fished up! This Spirit-whatever jus' shapeshifted into a dead guy!" The almost skeletal-looking  insect would say, two Scorpiomon, one being a bright red and identifiable as a Scorpiomon X scuttled up to the ACTUAL scorpion-based Digimon's side. The SkullScorpiomon swished his tail around, trying to dislodge the corpse from his sharp tip, chuckling at the same time.

"That's damn rider bro. Strats boy was stupid for thinkin' this would be hard! These guys are a bunch of bloody morons! While we had the swarm distract them, WE hooked up the sewer systems of this place with loads of bombs! Goes all the way into their headquarters! In ten minutes, Shin-SUCKY isn't gonna have much of a city to bum in!" The pale yellow crustacean Digimon would begin to say aloud... though unfortunately, this was while a still active walky-talky left behind by a Troopmon was on, spreading the message to all of the remaining Shin-Sekai higher-ups here. The Scorpiomon finally noticed the device, smashing it with a claw, silencing it for good. "Uh... Did I say too much?"

"Like all of our plans moron." The Scorpiomon X would comment, it's voice decidedly female. She was calm and collected, but also confident in the setup here. Fidgeting with the remote, pocketing it in her shell; the only way this would be stopped would be if all three of them were taken out. "Either way, this situation was over once the DATs man called in us."

The first phase has been started, Strats Digivolving into his Champion form, Kabuterimon! A horde of 10 smaller Kabuterimon and a endless swarm of Tentomon are now by his and Arnold's side! (Strats gaining 100% extra power from having 10 Kabuterimon subordinates!)

Strats has caught Blight's Fat Boy and hurled it back at him, the Kabuterimon minions firing off bolts of electricity alongside!

More worrisome, Strats has used his Storm Caller technique, it sending lightning down at Margot and Walter!
STORM CALLER - Creates a localized thunderstorm in the area for six rounds, boosting electricity-based attacks and sending random thunderbolts the equivalent of a champion attack onto the battlefield (up to 3 targets a round)
COOLDOWN: eight turns

Things only grow more dire though with the arrival of the Stingers! (SkullScorpiomon, Scorpiomon and Scorpiomon X) Along with executing Leyton Thomson , they have just finished laying out bombs across the sewer system underneath Triton City. Everyone has 5 posts to get back the detonator switch, or else Triton City and the Medusa Complex will suffer CATACLYSMIC damage!

The strange green mechanoid, of whom offered a compliment, struck the wrong side of the receiver. Had he not been rushing, Margot surely would've blushed and kept her eyes towards him. The smoke was clearing and the buzzing soon began to die down. Countless bugs and Kerai were laying upon the ground, some moaning and others simply vaporizing into the false heavens. Leaving the building was not in either member's best interest. There were sturdy walls to provide cover and only a few ways of entering the pseudo-barricade itself. Safety and security held precedence over assistance. And yet, it was not to be... The sudden quake caught both Matthew and Margot off-guard, eyes turning to the left and right only to see a massive skeletal dinosaur. Nostalgia and fear wrapped itself around Matthew's sense of recollection. Margot had spotted a woman veiled in black, descending from a portal alongside another disastrous beast. The gesture was well-appreciated, albeit the summoning only caused more destruction to the city. That purple dragon was much too large and much too close for comfort. "I think-" ""We should leave the building." Not another word was said. Clinging to her Master's back, the two fled to the outside and cast eyes upon the giant monster once again. Upon her departure, a crack of thunder and a bolt of lightning blinded them. Margot's vision was already terrible, but underneath a raised arm, she witnessed a terrifying sight. A group of Vemmon were totally erased from existence. What occupied space was, became nothing but air. Another bolt struck Margot and she bent shrieking in response, haunting the wind. She collapsed, holding herself up with both claws. Matthew attempted to approach her, only to stop at the sound of three new voices. He saw them. The skeletal insects and the scorpion's tail. He saw him. He stepped to them once, his heart racing. Margot's heart began to beat just as fast, and she was unaware of what Matthew was seeing. Now he backed up, tripping on a chunk of rubble. He was trembling in Margot's eyes. She couldn't hear him yelling out "LEYTON!", but she felt something stir inside. She felt his pain. Her claws dug into the torrid earth and she felt his anguish. The rain did nothing to ease this. Her Master was paralyzed in fear and she was changing. Bands of data surrounded her, forming a dark blue sphere. Her armor peeled away; her tail split into two legs. The sphere broke. What once was a Depthmon was a humanoid; sea-green and with hands coating themselves in rainwater. - A nod was sent to Faust - good, air cover in this case was highly useful, with the bugs flying every which way. If Faust could keep the skies relatively clear, those on the ground would have a much easier time of things as they moved for the boss. It seemed Claire had been very wrong about Rei's presence- something that, in this case, she very much was thankful for. Despite being a Dark Ultimate and could easily deal with a large number of the hoard, Claire privately held doubts about his ability to take on the fleet, even with the extra assistance from the others in Shin Sekai. While there was no intention of giving up in the blonde's mind just yet, before the younger girl had arrived, she'd been wordlessly cursing at this rabbit's inability to digivolve any further. Perhaps it was triggered by jealousy, upon seeing Kuro's form earlier. Only- That was not Kuro. Or perhaps it was, in an alternate line- but what on Earth was a Armageddon doing here? Walter skidded to a halt upon seeing the two giants. Claire gave a hard tug at his ears, signaling an about-face and a change of plans: with that kind of power, Rei wouldn't need major assistance, just enough to keep the hoards away while she dealt with the leader. Again, Claire couldn't help but feel somewhat jealous- but the sudden bolts of electricity crashing to the ground beside them sent those thoughts away. Not only that, but a disturbing message could be heard from Claire's Digivice, broadcast from one of the Kerai, presumably. "Walter." The Antylamon was already on it, beginning to charge away from the central area of attack, back toward the Medusa complex. With highly sensitive ears, the location of the scorpion Digimon was easily detected as they neared the area. A slight pause from Walter so that his tamer could alert the others. "Take the detonator switch," Claire called, nearing the previous group from atop Walter. There was no time to call specifics now- most likely, some were already headed toward the bombers anyway. "Continue to clear the hoard- drive them away entirely. Some of you, come with me- we're going to take that detonator." Leaping to their level though, a shocking sight met Claire's eyes- none other than Leyton Thomson 's corpse, carelessly tossed to the side, bloody and lifeless. Despite herself, her heart skipped a beat and nails dug into Walter's wet ears, silently staring at it just for those brief seconds as Walter landed, before refocusing in time to see the Antylamon's hand glowing with powerful dark energy. Fur bristled with aggression. "Darkness Claw." With matthew mcdermott 's Ranamon going for SkullScorpiomon, his attack was aimed at Scorpiomon- a vicious strike from the Dark Ultimate Digimon. "Claire speech." "Walter speech." NAME ATK DEF SPD WALTER 230% 150% 150% SCORPIOMON no bonus no bonus no bonus SPOILER: Click to show DARK DIGIVOLUTION - Mechanically, this gives your digimon about 1.5x the abilities of a normal digimon that stage. Chances to evade decrease by 10% for any additional Digimon targeting him at the same time to a normal amount minimum. In addition, his own accuracy is 15% higher than most other Digimon, and any moves that affect Antylamon's agility have their effect cut by half on him. ○ DARKNESS CLAW - Assimilated from Skullgreymon. The user empowers one of his claws or hands with dark energy, and then swipes at the target with incredible force. As Angeli rushed on to the scene, she was shocked to find that radioactive fellow she fought back in the tournament here. Surprisingly, despite the tension in their match back at the tournament; it did not appear either Digimon held any actual grudge towards the other. It was nonetheless a fun duel; and she was impressed to have seen the radioactive Digimon get ALL the way to the finals. That and his affable nature certainly at the very least bought him some respect from the carbuncle Digimon "Wish you luck dear!" She would say as he with swiftness jumped across rooftop after rooftop before ending his approach with a slam dunk using a bomb of his creation.

While gutsy and impressive; Angeli could not help but wince as she saw no explosion on the bugs' end; the leader seemingly tossing the weapon straight back at the Nukemon. "Ooooh... Okay on second thought, never mind. Luck's not helping here." The Rookie would idly say, though some good news did arrive in the form of an unexpected guest...

Riding atop a gargantuan abomination of a Digimon; Angeli could catch a glimpse of the one human in Shin-Sekai who has seemed to reject the idea of clothing... none other than master Crow's pupil, Reikiko. Needless to say, the sight of most of the swarm either being vaporized and or fleeing was a good sign... but would it be enough? That giant Kabuterimon... something felt off about them; especially since she had always thought that the blue insect Digimon was classified as a Champion level, yet the creature easily defended himself from Blight's attack! Angeli gulped slightly... for the first time in weeks frightened by something.

More worrisome was a broadcast that sent out by a Kerai soldier... except it was not. If anything, it sounded like the insects were smarter than she thought... they intending to bomb the entire city! The carbuncle Digimon for a moment seemed to shiver at the statement. Thankfully, lady Claire riding atop her Dark Ultimate level partner was able to put aside some of that worry; she already having came up with the plan to steal the detonator from the group who idiotically blurted out their plans. Of course... if they had the detonator, they could buy themselves valuable time! The worst that could happen is if the bombers were expecting them... but with the strength of a horsemen on their side, plus Reikiko's dramatic entrance; they could not AFFORD to lose.

Swifly Digivolving to her own Champion form, Zirconiamon; Angeli with as much speed as she could muster attempted to follow the Antylamon's lead; fast approaching where the three ruffians who planned to bomb the city were. A Scorpiomon, Scorpiomon X and a SkullScorpiomon... How were THESE guys part of this?! Two weren't even insects, and scorpions aren't even supposed to be related! The solo Digimon seemed to begin to think about this to herself briefly... but it was only then that she caught sight of something.

Leyton was dead.

"Holy crap... He's actually gone." She'd idly say, her eyes wide open in shock at the sight of the corpse; mixed feelings immediately flooding her. On one hand, she should feel sorrow or anger for the loss of a teammate... on the other hand; she was giddy that she would never have to worry about being texted "dick pictures" by the white-haired man. Ultimately however, she felt rage. Not for the loss of her teammate... but for the fact that she did not get to do it herself. "I WAS the one who was supposed to kill that asshole you wankers!" The bewitching beast Digimon would furiously say, launching a blast of light energy at the Scorpiomon, following a Dark Digivolved Margot's lead.

"OH SHIT!" Blight cursed. Did one of their guys just get curbstomped? 'Holy. Fuck.' The reality of the conflict was setting in. That was one person down, which was worth a whole lot more than a few dozen insects from the other side. How the hell did this happen? Before he could contemplate the situation any further, the Ultimate Digimon found himself the unwilling participant in a game of Hot Potato. His Fat Boy nuke? Yeah, it had literally found its way back into his hands. He looked disdainfully into the new Kabuterimon's eyes.

"Joke's on you, punk!"

In the split second that he concocted his retort, a massive metal plate separated him from his deadly potato. This was Nukemon's Bastion technique, which allowed him to avert damage completely for one turn. His increased reflexes from his Critical Core certainly helped, giving him time to allow his bomb bounce, so to speak, back to the roof, where it would explode without delay. If Kabuterimon or Searchmon remained, they would likely feel the force of the blast, if not its concussive force. It was a big ol' bomb, after all. What Blight wouldn't divulge, however, was that he could increase the power of his boom boom any time. The more he waited, the better it was gonna get. Holding off to see his opponent to make a move wasn't a half-baked plan; he'd thought it through enough to get an idea of what he was dealing with. Using Bastion to avoid the shitstorm of attacks headed in his direction: an even better plan.

As far as what he could do next...well, what could he do next? He was painfully outnumbered. Sadly, things weren't so hot on the other side of the battlefield, either. Claire was leading a furious chase. That Scorpiomon was really starting to piss him off. And yet it would almost be stupid to leave his current position. Man, what a conundrum. 'I need to distract these shits. It's pretty much my only option. I think I need to call for help, eugh. Hate admitting that.' Blight was correct; he sure as fuck needed help with this one. It seemed as though Angeli, that water Digimon (did it change into a hot girl all of the sudden?!) and Walter were handling the detonator problem. He knew he was going to have to keep that objective painless as humanly possible. Obviously, there was going to be boatloads of anguish regardless of what route anyone took. Catching sight of Rei and her derpy spider didn't really bring him a whole lot of relief. One Mega? Meh. They needed like...five. Blight supposed that SkullGreymon made him feel a bit better. Sort of. That brought back some sore memories.

In any case, Mr. Distraction turned back to the task at hand. Troll mode, activated. "Your head looks like a shaved asshole. And that's Baron von Green to you!" Blight shouted indignantly. He beckoned Legstrong forward, refusing to back down despite the odds. Hopefully he had the opportunity to die in an awesome way. At least, that seemed to be the direction this whole battle was going in. The Ultimate held his shield steadfastly, pretending like it would hold up forever. Behind it, he made some kind of weird motion, trying to catch someone's attention. Legion could maybe jump in right about now; he needed divine intervention rather sorely. 'C'mon kid. Notice notice notice!'

His eyes caought a glance at some much needed backup, a skullgreymon and Reikiko with her..... a Armagemon, no wait that seemed wrong, he had known that her digimon was a black agumon and her mega form was a black wargreymon..... Something was up even for an alternate line this seemed to drastic of a change. Either way the help was much appreciated given the number of digimon that continued to come towards them. Then there was a message on the radio that caused his attention to be taken away from heading towards Legstrong. There had been a bomb planted no not just a single bomb but multiple bombs planted all around the sewer system to blow up the entire city.

Without saying a word he turned his direction back towards where the radio transimtion had come from the Medusa Complex. It seemed that he wasn't the only one to take the same idea as Claire and her digimon turned around and called out to others to help out in dealing with these stingers. By taking the air he would arrive just as he saw one of their allies body tossed aside to the ground. It was Leyton, Faust had no reason to care about the death of his ally. Without hesitating and seeing that others were attacking the skull scorpionmon he went right at it. Dropping from above he would land on the back of the skull scorpionmon. His right foot hitting it's lower back while his left foot pinned part of it's stinger down on the ground. From his mouth he aimed at the back of the digimon's neck and unleashed his Holy Energy Strike at full power right to the center of it's neck. This would cause some damage and cause it's attention to be turned onto him. Allowing the others to attack it with ease.

Chaos was an understatement. What used to be a paradise was now hell-in-creation; angry colors of war splattered all over the walls of the city, fear and panic drowned the cries of the innocent as digimon and humans danced together in a deadly waltz. Who would survive and who would die in a dispute between insects and gods? The answer... she'd have to find out. It wouldn't be an easy fight but the outcome was already decided; his orders were absolute. She-- no, all of them had to win this game.

And for that, she needed an entrance.

Roar rumbling like thunder pierced across the palpable tension like a warning siren as Nox sliced through the air, past a few friends and familiar faces, with eyes glowing in a sinister shade of crimson. Not a second of hesitation was pondered about, the dark dragon flaunted his savage nature, clawing, stabbing and ripping unsuspecting insect-types along his way. A satisfied grin was plastered on his face stained by the blood of his victims, his heart beating louder and faster the more digimon he swiped and destroyed.

On the devidramon's back sat the green-eyed mistress with a displeased gaze locked at the growing swarm of Kabuterimon and the man that stood before them, perhaps the lord of the insects. She was never fond of insects on Earth, let alone the ones that could be found in the Digital World. The Kabuterimon and Tentomon though, she could tolerate.

○ LORD OF FEAR - Devidramon's wicked and evil intentions are so strong that they could reach other people thereby inducing and enhancing fear and horror, deducting 10% from his enemies confidence/fighting spirit.

○ SINGING DRAGON - Another ability that came from his previous level though much enhanced, a very loud high-pitched roar that could reach 2 miles from where he is would induce fear and interfere with his opponent's senses for one-two posts and has a chance of temporarily increasing his own strength by 15% for the whole battle. The roar is said to be similar to a victory cry where Devidramon's will to fight is at its highest. (Cooldown: 2 posts)

○ CRIMSON CLAW - The claws he had as a gazimon had grown much bigger and sharper and became useful for chopping up trees, boulders and opponents into pieces.

DANCING UNDERNEATH THE SKIES OF LUST "never once in my life am i calling you that..." asuka mumbled to herself, noticing that claire had already taken her attention elsewhere. it seemed as if she were some sort of commander of this organization, something that surely has gone to her head. regardless of alliance, she was a friend, and she did not intend to simply do nothing, as much as she wanted to. there was simply too much going on, and she had to admit that her powers were not quite yet refined enough to deal with a problem of this level. tactics other than raw strength would have to be used. there was a lot of confusion going on, a lot of edgy people she had never seen before arriving out of nowhere, something that seemed to clear the swarm. claire herself seemed to be getting really into this. it did have a certain stark beauty to it, the chaos of the situation. the demoness had to wonder if breaking it up was truly in her best of interests. the best way to address this situation would be without a plan at all. asuka truly had no idea what she was going to do, and decided to just go with instinct. she took forth her d-tector, transforming herself into a cloud of data, and then into a smaller and dainty fairy-like form, her h-hybrid, lillymon. she would then flutter up towards the sky, summoning forth five small seeds in her hand. "kinda bad soil, but it should work." she tossed them around the battlefield, a couple landing near the scorpiomon trio, and a couple more landing near arnold's reinforcements. the final seed was thrown behind a building, out of sight and out of the main area of battle. that one had a special purpose. all of the seeds came alive upon touching the ground, burrowing themselves deep underneath like tiny beetles. the spirit wielder then sighed with relief, closing her eyes and landing elegantly on the ground. however, when she opened them, she found herself directly behind legstrong himself - and his reinforcements - and his digimon. "s-shit!" she accidentally yelled to herself, before quickly trying to turn away and leave the scene. however, one of the tentomon picked her up, which in turn caused them all to turn around and face her. without another movement, the lillymon instantly threw her hands up into the air, "i-i'm on your side, i swear!" she would say in a panic to the dats captain, then forming her hand into a small cannon, aiming it in the sky above. luckily, there happened to be some sort of angelic digimon that was helping out shin-sacky. "see?! flower cannon!" she shouted, sending forth a bullet of raw energy towards the angel. it wasn't exactly accurate or powerful, as she didn't want to hurt him or anything. Faust CLAIRE LYON lillymon - champion condition: perfect! status: normal 0 stacks of CHLOROPHYLL +0% regeneration +0% offense + passive force of nature: as long as lillymon is near nature (forests, trees, fields, in general, outside), she receives a bonus to her offensive abilities as well as a regenerative healing factor based on how many CHLOROPHYLL stacks she currently possesses. for each stack of CHLOROPHYLL lillymon has, she gains a +5% bonus to her offensive abilities, and heals 5% missing health per turn. this caps at 20 stacks of CHLOROPHYLL. + active vicious growth: seeds turn into sproutlings next turn. five seeds active. + active flower cannon: deals non-elemental damage in the form of energy bullets.

lthough she had expected the enemy leader to be the one crushed under the Skullgreymon's fist, it was surprisingly enough a oversized Tentomon! Nevertheless, to think that she'd actually miss her target... It was a bit embarrassing in her opinion! Nevertheless, it appeared that a situation had escalated elsewhere in the city for Claire retreated but a mere moment after her arrival, leaving the girl to drop her shoulders with a dejected sigh. What the hell was wrong with her misfortune today?! No matter, she would find her own means of dealing with this mess. Still, not a moment after she mentally instructed the Skullgreymon to start marching something really peculiar happened, the Shademon's eyes opened and she heard its voice resound within her mind.

"Hang on a moment Reikiko..."

The voice caught her by surprise, causing the Skullgreymon to grind to a halt while she turned her head sideways to look at the Shademon. What in the world was important enough for him to tell her to stop the advance onto the enemy troops? It appeared the sudden interruption displeased Reikiko greatly, who inquired in a mildly annoyed tone.

"What is it Shadey? We're kind of in the middle of a battlefield right now."

Although the specific part of the city had now been neutralized of enemy forces, the battle was still far from over, and the Shademon should have known this, but the sharpening of its gaze at her seemed to confirm it was something serious, serious enough to make it decide to delay her reinforcing of the Shin-Sekai defense. Still, what followed afterwards was quite unexpected, for the creature declared telepathically to her.

"This will likely interest you more than those pests... since it involves the murderer of your dear Kuro."

The words seemed to have some effect on Reikiko, whose eyes briefly widened in disbelief before eyes were cast away from the Shademon, and the creature could feel the intense sorrow and grief rising within the girl's heart. For all her cheerful attitude she clearly had not yet gotten over her loss.

"What is there to say Shadey? I killed Kuro-"

However, before she could finish speaking the Shademon closed its eyes and its voice seemed to soften, almost sounding sympathetic in nature as it interrupted her.

"That is incorrect Reikiko. Although you might had burdened your partner with the great source of energy from the mark, it was not the mark's power that drove Kuro into oblivion."

What was he saying? Obviously Kuro had died because of her! It was for that reason... her gaze lowered toward the ground where the Armagemon was snickering and walking a few steps forwards, clearly eager to engage into a confrontation with the invaders. It was because of her Kuro was gone and all she had left was this cheap replacement!

"No, that Keramon is a phantom, one that devoured Kuro's essence to take his place among the living. The true murderer of Kuro... is KERA."

The revelation hit her like a truck, making it feel like time had slowly frozen to a standstill, and then it began. Sorrow turned into anger and anger into downright hatred as the girl leaped off the Skullgreymon, descending toward Kera who seemed oblivious to the secret lies the Shademon instilled upon his partner. Perhaps if he did he would have tried to stop her, rather than stand still to ensure she would land on his back, thinking they would get to the battlefield.

"Kekeke~ When will we finally fight them Anek-"

The sentence of the Armagemon was cut entirely as the Armagemon felt a sharp tendril pierce the back of its body, letting out a screeching scream as it tried to shake Reikiko off him.

"Snap out of it Aneki! What happened to you?"
"MURDERER!"

Reikiko's voice was almost akin to a banshee scream, a volley of tendrils following from the Shademon as it impaled the Armagemon's body further.

"Gah! What do you mean An-Aneki?"

The pained gasp of the Armagemon as it felt Reikiko's tendrils leech his energy swiftly, the tendrils increasing in quantity as more impaled him while she glared down at the Digimon.

"YOU STOLE KURO FROM ME! ALL THIS TIME YOU DECEIVED ME! TRAITOR!"

The feeling of being betrayed yet again by someone brought Reikiko into a almost feral rage, and yet instead of attacking the Keramon tried to speak again, to calm her out of her psychosis.

"I didn't betray you Aneki! The traitor here is---"

But there was no more words as a final collection of tendrils came from the Shademon's main body, impaling the Armagemon once more and making it slowly dissolve as its data was visibly being devoured by the Shademon.

"I did it Kuro... I avenged you..."

Poor girl, if only she had realized the truth behind her actions. Nevertheless, the girl spotted the ten Kabuterimon and their leader further ahead, noticing Astoria approach from the opposite side.

"Astoria!"

Her cheeks instantly flushed up as the girl felt a nostalgic warmth and excitement rush through her mind at a recent memory, but then she realized something: with Kera gone she was partnerless...

"What are you saying? Just use my power Reikiko, perhaps you can impress the lass over there by showing you can use those tentacles in more ways than the one you demonstrated to her last time."

Snickering briefly, the tension from the earlier events involving the Armagemon's devouring seemingly already entirely forgotten the girl decided to act. All it took was a light swipe of her hand to feel Shademon's power flow through her entire body, the ground beneath her stirring lightly as her shadow seemed to shift and bend along the streets, splitting up into five directions, each fragment of her shadow attempting to root the Kabuterimon minions in place so that Astoria could lash out at the rooted enemies, easily slicing them to bits.

In the meanwhile any of the remaining rooted enemies who didn't get dealt with, would have found that the rampaging Skullgreymon would likely do it for them, sweeping its giant arms in an attempt to maul them from the opposite side, of course making sure Astoria didn't get hit. Of course some of the nearby Tentomon who saw her bravely tried to retaliate, just to find that when they approached the shadow-clad girl she didn't stop at all! She merely smiled harmlessly at them, making a downwards pointing gesture with her hand, as if to urge them to look downwards, and indeed if they did they would notice several shadowy tendrils had risen from their own shadows! The poor bugs were literally being impaled by their own shadows while the girl casually approached Astoria, a hand waving eagerly as if she disregarded the angry mob between them.

"A-chan~ You can't believe how happy I am to see you! I thought my return to Triton City after completing my assignment was a poor prank when I got surrounded by icky bugs, but... a pretty Astoria turned the prank into a reward~ How about we handle those nuisances so we can go back to the Medusa Complex?"

Still for a moment her gaze shifted upwards and she tilted her head to the side as the Skullgreymon minion eyed her.

"Friend or foe? Oooy flower girl, whose side are you on?"

VERZWEIFLUNG’s duration is the same as SCHLEICHENDE TOD’s, as is its cooldown period. If WELT DER FINSTERNIS is active when this move is used, VERZWEIFLUNG becomes a locational switch skill that allows Shademon to actually exchange places with a target of his choice.

Death reigned without challenge in Triton City, with the bodies of countless insects piled onto one another like macabre ant hills. Sat atop the shoulder of an angemon at least partially responsible for the slaughter, was Obasi. With a dejected look upon his face, the boy simply oversaw the evacuation. Leyton’s death having taken a harder toll on the youth than he imagined it would have. He couldn’t have even avenged Leytons’ death to the sheer power of the opponents before him. Instead Obasi turned his angst to towards the surrounding hordes of insectmon. He was assigned to helping the civilians escape and deal with the seemingly endless swarm.

For his part, Blight lead the charge against the swarm, and Obasi eagerly followed the digimon’s pace. Inectmon fell unceremoniously with each smash of the angemon’s golden staff into its carapace crushing the digiomon. Legion found the slaughter of the many rookies and champions before them tiring, but his tamer was thrilled. Even if his excitement wasn’t reflected in the boy’s countenance he enjoyed killing them. For each slain bug Obasi felt a measure of revenge for his fallen comrade. Legion, other hand was simply exhausted from what he saw as a fruitless endeavor. These creatures seemed endless, but at least his comrades were making head way.

“More bugs, bombs, and, a nuke.” Obasi said to his infuriated digimon. Things seem to only be getting further out of hand when Obasi heard news of the bomb being implanted in the sewers. Blight, always one step ahead was able to solve the nuke problem. Thankfully, he could always fly away if the SS higher-ups order a retreat. The scorpiomon were out of his league, but the tentomon certainly were not. Unfortunately for him getting too close to any of them would probably get him killed. For the moment he decided to wait and just take out the remaining swarms.

Coming into Triton might have been a mistake. The first thing he had done upon seeing the city was pull out his Gungir card and use it, allowing himself to be lifted into the air; using it as a craft to get around far above the ground. Looking off into the city there seemed to be a bunch of wreckage, dead insects and well... death. He had to shake his head and get his eyes away from it, keeping himself situated ontop of the semi-living aircraft he had summoned. Instinctively he figured he should stay on the downlow, and as a result pulled out his golden sludge and with a small glow summoned the Numemon that came from it. He put it back into his pocket after it occured, ignoring the slight wince that the Gungir gave from the surprise weight of another. It was only after that he heard something, and looking down he saw a dead body off to the side and some scorpion-looking digimon, followed by another digimon with a gas mask he couldn't quite recognize. "That can't be Blight, too fat, too dull." The digimon beside him looked down as well, and the young teen stopped above them. He pulled out his Microscope and eyed the body... Leyton? Well shit, that was a teammate. His teeth gritted together and he lifted out his digivice, dialing something before pulling out a card from within the package on his leg. "Alright Numemon, jump and use party time, make sure you get a large spread area." He whispered, the digimon looked at him with a blank expression before jumping off the Gungir towards the Skullscorpiomon and Scorpiomon X, throwing its "Party Time" attack towards them. Immediately after, he would scan his "Death" card into his device. "This is gonna be so fucking risky." He spoke, and as he said that three SkullKnightmon came falling down towards the digimon bellow them as well, their weapons pointed downards towards them in an attempt to skewer. They were making loud buzzing noises, and if you looked closely it appeared as though their armor was just filled with dark matter and a bunch of icky looking black wasps. From here Kiysohi would let out a sigh, flying his Gungir slightly away from them to keep himself out of eyesight. He was shaking, and holding his digivice, trying to calm himself enough to find a place he could digivolve at. There was shit everywhere, and things weren't looking so hot, and they were talking about some sort of bombing in the sewer system. He should have gotten here sooner. Fuck this shit.

CAPTAIN LEGSTRONG IS REPORTING FOR DUTY!

Blight 's quick thinking spared him from his own attack pretty easily, something that did cause to Strats to scowl slightly. Arnold on the otherhand did not seemed bothered by the Ultimate level's taunts; letting out a hearty chuckle. "Haha! You hide your pretty face under that suit of yours boy!" He would casually yell towards the Nukemon, a mirthful smile on his face despite the dissonant chaos going on in the city. Of course, his attention was turned more to the Armageddonmon at sight... at least until he was brutally cannibalized by his own tamer. "Huh." Was all that he did manage to mutter; only slightly perturbed by the brutality.

The Captain was primarily focused on Reikiko Tsukino ; who managed to snare some of the Kaburterimon. He almost had been unaware of both Astoria Zenker , but also ASUKA YAMAZAKI who showed up. Lucky for the plant woman, Arnold as the gentleman he was bought the act. "Ah, welcome to the party madam! No need to fret, I would not dare to harm a sweet rose like you!"

The DATs leader's partner on the otherhand was not so friendly, yelling angrily at his life-partner. "Focus Arnold!" He had no time to bother with the plant woman, the girl with the Shademon was an infinitely greater problem. About 8 more Kabuterimon managed to fly in, joining the 5 that were not rooted. The Kabuterimon who were affected by her attack were goners... but he would not allow their deaths to go in vain. "Attack at once!" The leading Kabuterimon will yell, his minions sending a barrage of electricity at the woman and her clothing-like Digimon. He himself channeled a large sphere of plasma using his horn; flinging it at the so-called human and her partner.

The storm continued to rage on, electricity bolting down from the heavens. One bolt rained down at Astoria and her bolt, another at both Angeli and Obasi Azikiwe . Seems the forecast today was scheduled for fire and brimstone today as the torrential downpour continued. Luckily, while Strats was busy; several of Shin-Sekai's members managed to track down the Stingers, swiftly beginning their assault on them.

Faust 's divebombing on SkullScorpiomon was with mixed results. On one hand yes, his Holy Energy Strike did land cleanly; the arachnid's thick carapace did well to basically block the blunt of the blast with only partial damage. While initially his efforts at holding down his tail seemed to work... but that would not last long. Needless to say, SkullScorpiomon was not amused. "Oy! Whatchu think you doing dragon boy?! You play with scorpions, you gonna get stung!" The skeletal insect would yell angrily, and before the Omenmon could manage to realize what was going on; SkullScorpiomon took advantage of him trying to pin his tail down against him by whipping his tail back, then immediately stabbing the holy dragon with frightening speed dozens of times; all in a matter of a second. Clearly an Armor Ultimate attempting to hold down a Ultimate level was a reckless idea.

Despite the brutal blow to Omenmon; it did however leave him open to two attacks from both Margot and Angeli , both the Ranamon and Zirconiamon's attacks landing. Of couse, their effectiveness was to say the least minimal, but it was something. Not even bothering with @kiyo 's Numemon frankly... though SkullScorpiomon certainly was going to need a bath now after this. "Oy! Who called the pests in?" He would yell irritantly, though his attention still focused on Omenmon.

CLAIRE LYON 's partner Walter certainly did not give the crustaceans much time to answer that question, he lunging towards Scorpiomon with dark-tinged claws. The Ultimate was however at least experienced enough to try and block the hit, he thrusting his stinger for his Twin Sword attack. "A-A lil' occupied at the moment!" The Scorpiomon would manage to yell as he swung his stinger, it colliding with the Antylamon's claws, hopefully also damaging him some. Unfortunately, he had not expected for the aftermath of Walter's attack to suddenly paralyze him, the Data attribute jolting slightly.

"You two are idiotic." Scorpiomon X would idly mention, she noting that something was falling from the sky. SkullKnightmons... filthy-looking at that. How annoying, seemed that the whole circus was coming to town. It was no concern for her. Must be trying to deactivate the bombs... A useless venture. "Red Riser." She would idly say, rearing back her own tail and lashing out; gouging one of the smallish knight-like Digimon with it. With the armored Digimon stuck on her stinger like a kebab, she proceeded to swing them about wildly; downing the other two SkullKnightmon before immediately slamming her tail down on them and anybody else unfortunate enough to get in the way.

This plan was not allowed to fail.

The battle rages on! 5 of the minion Kabuterimon have been rooted and afflicted by Shademon, but 8 more join the fray, putting Strats at 180% extra power from Stand United with a total of 18 Kabuterimon! The Tentomon are being slaughtered, but their numbers fail to diminish!

13 Kabuterimon are attacking Reikiko and Shademon in union, Strats following up with his Thunder Blaster! These attacks are being amped up by Storm Caller!
THUNDER BLASTER - Channels a sphere of lightning on his horn, and then proceeds to unleash it as a projectile toward a foe. Upon impact it will detonate into a dome of electricity, rooting enemies hit by the electricity in place and making them receive a bolt of lightning from Storm Caller. Deals moderate damage (equivalent of an Ultimate attack).

The 2nd round of Storm Caller is occurring, a bolt of lightning being sent at Nox's, Angeli and Legion's way! 4 more rounds remain!

Skull Scorpiomon was successfully hit by the barrage of attacks from Edward, Angeli and Margot plus Kiyoshi's Numemon, though his Marrow Carapace has helped block much of the damage! Edward's plan to try and hold him down though has backfired; Skull Scorpiomon easily shaking him off and hitting him with 1000 Stinger!
1000 STINGER - Viciously assaults the foe with rapid fire stings from his tail, attempting to attack every last weakpoint they have. Deals about 200% normal damage

Scorpiomon is parrying Walter's Darkness Claw, parrying it for partial damage and attempting to also attack th e Dark Digivolved Ultimate level with Twin Sword! Unfortunately for Scorpiomon, he still took partial damage from it and is stunned till his next round!
TWIN SWORD: Thrust his bladed-tail at the enemy; attempting to gore them. Successfully damaging enemies with this move will cause them to begin to bleed heavily for 3 posts, causing them to take damage over time. (Cooldown: 1 Post after ending)

Scorpiomon X on the other hand is using her Red Riser attack on one of the falling SkullKnightmon, successfully gouging it and slamming the other two down to the ground; stunning them and anybody unfortunate to get in the way of the attack! She also is gaining 60% to all stats from her Pack Mentality passive!
RED RISER - Scorpiomon X attacks by attempting to gouge the target with her stinger, lifting them up and then slamming them down with excessive force, potentially damaging nearby enemies. An Ultimate level or lower that is hit by this is stunned for a post. (Cooldown: 3 Posts)

His attack did land the impact from it could be felt as he felt the body of the Skullscorpionmon's body move slightly to it. However it seemed that that was the only part of his plan that had worked. He had underestimated the strength that the skullscorpionmon had compared to his own along with his weight added into it. He had no idea that the seemingly skinny and thin digimon would have enough strength in it's tail to not only move, but be able to strike at him while he was on the back of the digimon. It spoke giving it's plan to attack to Edward, however before he could react he saw that his barrier was shattered by something.

That something was the stinger of the skullscorpionmon. He could only watch as he felt the first time it stabbed into his flesh pushing past his scales and entering his body. As he bellowed out a cry of pain that echoed out into the battlefield there came another strike once more pushing apart his flesh as if it's stinger was a hot knife and his flesh was butter. Three times, four times, five times, he lost count as the attack seemed to end. His body covered in several lacerations from the attack, pain filling his mind, but at the same time a need to act, a need to get out of the situation that he was in.

In his mind he knew that there were others here that he couldn't risk hurting outright with a wide range attack like his flames. He couldn't purge the area in an explosion of flames to burn away everything. Everything else seemed to be useless, everything, but that card, while there were some risks with it meaning that he didn't know how big the explosion would be it was the safest bet right now, and if others did get caught in the explosion he would accept the risks later on.

Sliding the card as he still stood on top of the skullscorpionmon a mass of energy started to rapidly grow in between his hands. Anyone around him could see what was about to happen, if they had watched Rei fight before or ever fought a wargreymon they would know what was coming. The mass of negative energy made up of all the negative emotions in the area started to expand rapidly before he tossed it right below him into the back of the skullscorpionmon. This was Blackwargreymon's terra destroyer. A powerful attack that should deal damage all around the skullscorpionmon.

Edward wasn't about to stick around on the back of the skullscorpionmon to find out if his plan had worked or not. As his attack did camedownwards he flapped his wings and lifted himself up off of the skullscorpionmon's back and into the air. Using the terra destroyer as cover he hoped that he would have enough time to get high enough in the sky to gather his breath and try and figure out what he had been injected with. All scorpions had venom, each and every single one of them did, this was a fact, what wasn't well known was that the larger the claws of the scorpion the weaker the venom was, however he wasn't sure if that applied to digimon as well. His blood would drip down off of his body as he gathered his breath wondering how the rest were fairing and hoping that they wouldn't hold back anymore.
