COMBAT
Here on Digimon : Exodus, combat between two or more characters is treated in almost an entirely free-form writing fashion. Characters are encouraged to write out cool battle sequences between themselves with little staff intervention, and without the hindrance of structured statistic based combat. With that in mind, please remember to keep things realistic, have fun, and follow the site's Terms and Conditions during your battles!
Other than that, there are a few rules that must be followed during combat to keep things fair to both sides.
• Please adhere to the site's Cooldown System. What this means is that Active Skills with duration effects must have a cooldown period (meaning that the Skill cannot be used while it on this period) that is equal to that duration, with the cooldown period starting after the duration for that effect ends. Keep in mind that members of the Staff Team may ask you to extend this cooldown period if they see it necessary.
• Keep in mind that you cannot create your own Status Effects and must use the list of approved effects with creating Skills. In general, Status Effects require a duration, and therefore they will affect the cooldown of your Active Skills. Creating Status Effects through Passive Skills is generally frowned upon unless there is a drawback with significant weight attached to them. A list of these effects are as follows:
Poisoned
• The afflicted takes damage each turn.
Data Bleed
• The afflicted takes damage each turn AND has reduced healing.
Wounded
• The afflicted takes damage each turn AND has reduced speed.
Burned
• The afflicted takes damage each turn AND has reduced attack.
Frozen
• The afflicted cannot move, cannot perform any actions. Cured instantly by fire.
Asleep
• The afflicted cannot move, cannot perform any actions. Cured instantly by taking damage.
Crippled
• The afflicted has greatly reduced speed, cannot perform any movement abilities.
Cursed
• The afflicted cannot use the same move twice in a row.
Blessed
• The afflicted cannot be inflicted with any other status effects, buffs, or debuffs.
Dizzy
• The afflicted must randomly choose attacks. Use dice rolls if necessary.
Shocked
• The afflicted takes damage each turn AND deals shock damage to others upon contact.
Rooted
• The afflicted cannot move.
• Persistent dodging without fail will be considered to be god-modding or power-playing, depending on the situation, and is punishable as such.
