THE STORY
The year is 2030...
In the beginning, there were SEVEN. These figures, born from the most wretched corners of the planet, came forth and laid claim to the Digital World for themselves, sowing discord and strife in their wake. Human and Digimon alike suffered as they prospered, and all hope for a brighter future seemed lost.
But as they grew in their power, so too did their ignorance of the powers that be, who sought to correct this imbalance by any means necessary. A collective of Digimon that numbered TWELVE, revered as gods among their kind from their thrones of gold and ivory, summoned forth EIGHT humans to serve as their champions of light and virtue against the opposing forces of darkness and sin.
War was waged, blood was spilled, and tears were shed. Soon, the Seven, desperate to maintain their seats of authority, combined their powers in a final act of defiance to summon the dreaded beast of destruction, Ogudomon. Though their ritual was incomplete and the monster still in chains, they had succeeded in bringing about utter calamity.
Or so they thought. Realizing the war for balance would be lost without direct intervention, the Eight besought the aid of the holiest FOUR, the Sovereign Gods who gave the Digital World shape and substance, and released them from their otherworldly prisons to combat the threat that was Ogudomon. The monstrosity, even in its sealed state, paled before the combined might of the Sovereign Gods, and it would fall.
The Seven, whose crimes against humanity and nature knew no limit, were banished from the Digital World for their transgressions, and the Eight warriors responsible for their defeat were revered as heroes and saviors, forever immortalized in legend for their victory over the greatest evil to befall the realms. The Twelve would soon claim rulership over the Digital World, and balance was finally restored.
Years have passed since these fateful events have occurred, and talks of growing tension between the Twelve now circulate throughout the Digital World. Five of them have left the fold of Olympos, and many of the others have taken to cloistering themselves within their own personal sanctuaries throughout the realm, isolated from the subjects they govern over.
With the Twelve weakened and scattered, TWO emerged from the original Seven. One of the two, now revived as a mechanical abomination free of a Tamer's control, immediately waged a war on humanity. Angered at his defeat by their hands, he launched several ballistic missiles at London, Washington DC, Moscow, Berlin, and Tokyo. Digimon Tamers were able to unite and destroy the missile heading to Tokyo before it impacted, saving the city, though unfortunately all the other targets were a direct hit. This leveled those cities, leaving them desolate wastelands only inhabited by a few survivors. The government bodies of those countries were able to relocate to other cities in their nations, but the world economy is now effectively in shambles, with world government tensions at an all time high.
The other monster that arose appeared to be an angel, but she was anything but, and was perhaps even more of a vile creature than her "partner." Her first action was not against humanity, but rather against the Digital World, as her first action was to brutally murder and absorb the THREE Celestial Beings that once ruled over the Skies. Now the holy land is now nothing but her stomping ground.
Will humanity persevere? Or will these newly emerged monsters destroy humanity once and for all? Find out next time on...
