The fist that was going toward her direction was unavoidable, too fast for her to recover from and to be honest: it frightened her. A part of her wanted to cringe in fear, but there was also the defiant side that wanted to counter at all costs, and for a moment it felt like things slowed down within her mind. Leyton's punch was inching closer by the moment, and it was at that point the voice resounded within her thoughts.
You realize you won't be able to avoid that blow without my help, right?
But if she relied on the Shademon once more... then surely it would become another brutal battle! Like the one against Zo! While she didn't hold any pity or regrets for the way she dealt with that fight, it still was something she didn't want to experience a second time, and it seemed the Shademon sensed her distrust and concern, the hesitation making the voice in her mind chuckle softly as it continued.
Do not worry, I won't kill the boy, I merely want you to win, the two of us do have an objective we need to accomplish. Go on... don't be afraid.
It had a point, if she got hit the attack could possibly knock her unconscious and considering the fight so far Kuro likely wouldn't be able to win for her at that point. She really... needed to rely upon the Shademon once more!
The shadows around her body seemingly stirred, a part that was around her neck seemingly flowing upwards to the side of her cheek as the Shademon attacked, the shadowy tendrils attempting to wrap around the incoming punch and suddenly with a violent sweep tried to spin Leyton around, making him circle in the air around her before she would have launched him straight into one of the mirrors, the tendrils flowing back into the shadows.
"Was that..."
Her whisper clearly shown a hint of disbelief and awe at the sheer speed and strength the Shademon had shown, and yet instead of replying mentally she received a verbal response from her own lips while she adjusted her footing to stand upright again.
"Just a fragment of what happens when we merge~ Now let's see how karate-kid is doing, shall we?"
Yes, what happened to Leyton?

For a moment Reikiko could feel a light shiver of excitement originating from her right arm, the mark that was branded on it from the clash against Skullgreymon making her ponder for a moment what happened when suddenly Leyton came charging in. To her surprise he was just as fast as before, perhaps even more stronger than earlier but his form had changed! Seemingly looking more ferocious and intimidating Reikiko couldn't help but find herself forced onto a total defense, all the shadows gathering before her as they blend together into a visible barrier to intercept the explosive club, or at least they tried to...
The blow that followed caused the shadows to scatter, the sheer recoil of the attack likely making the club reel a bit backwards but Reikiko's eyes had widened in disbelief.
"A dark evolution?!"
Yet Shademon couldn't allow this threat to its safety, instead of allowing the shadows to blend back into its main body, it swiftly converted them into a large spear, and before Reikiko could properly realize what had happened the tendrils were in her hand, and she lashed forwards, intending to skewer the dark spirit warrior before he could properly recover.
Still, even after that attack she could feel the exhaustion, not to mention, the club seemingly had seemingly did reach her body, for a surface scratch ran along her cheek where the club had swing by, making her laugh heartily.
"You passed! I guess it would be dishonorable for me to continue toying with you when you pulled out your ace card. Take a moment to recover Leyton, your real opponent will take the stage."
Kuro glanced at Leyton, a smirk upon his lips as he declared proudly.
"Fighting a human under the effect of a dark evolution? Let's give the crowd a show to enjoy pal!"
It seemed the fight was about to reach its climax soon, with Leyton having underwent a dark transformation, it would be only reasonable for him to receive the honor of facing Kuro in the same state!

"We're going all out Aneki!"

The command caused Reikiko's partner to become coated in a black cocoon, the aura of darkness wrapping around both tamer and Digimon as the cocoon shattered, revealing the juggernaut of a dinosaur, eyes narrowed at Leyton as the girl stepped away from Leyton, watching the shadows on her arm distort into the familiar gauntlet, the secret power bestowed upon her by Claire's gift ready to be put to use.
"May the most manly man win this clash~"
Reikiko's statement was accompanied by a cheer from the crowd as Kuro roared in provocation, darting in a beeline toward Leyton, hoping to face him directly in a clash of power, both arms lifted upwards ready to grab whatever part of the dark spirit warrior would reach him first. Of course Reikiko did intent to keep her promise, her hand merely holding the black digivice that had manifested from within the shadows around her, her gaze setting upon the duo as she waited to see the start of their brawl.
Kuro intended to make this a close-quarters brawl, likely intending to beat Leyton at his speciality in order to show his superiority over the warrior, but at this point she had no idea who of the two would be winning this clash!

The moment their rushes reached one another Kuro find his arms snatched by Leyton's own, the two of them seemingly engaging into a power struggle where neither was showing any sign of backing down. When it looked like one side was about to gain an edge over the other, the opposing side pushed back with increasing vigor, and even Reikiko could feel the tremors in the arena. The mirrors started to tremble, crack and slowly shatter into a sea of shards as the ground beneath the two started to implode upon itself, a crater starting to spread beneath them.
The clash was intense and the fans were going wild of excitement for both brawlers, even Reikiko felt herself secretly wishing that Leyton had enough strength to keep going, the smile upon Kuro's face clearly revealing how excited he was. And even then, he wasn't going to give Leyton any quarters, for within the center of the crater he tried to headbutt the spirit warrior to catch him off-balance.
"LEYTON! LEYTON! LEYTON!"
The excited cheers of the crowd seemed to encourage Leyton to continue fighting, but even among them, at an equally strong volume the encouraging shouts for the other warrior came.
"KURO! KURO! KURO!"
The crowd was going wild, and one could likely describe this semi-finals as one that would surely be going down into the history of the digital world! Still, while Kuro was large and bulky, he was also easier to hit, so Reikiko was expecting to see a counter from Leyton any moment now...

It was a clever strategy, and one that worked for Kuro lost his balance, seemingly being flipped over and as he collapsed on the ground, causing a light tremor the Black Greymon was too slow to prevent the bear-hug, the sharp razor-like fur of Leyton making him roar in a mixture of pain and anger. He couldn't break free, at least not like this so in the end he decided to do the next best thing he could think of. He opened his maws, black flames burning brightly in his jaws as he unleashed his attack.
"DARK MEGAFLAME!"
The fiery inferno would have consumed the two of them if Leyton didn't back away quick enough, and with the tainted flames burning their bodies it was unlikely Leyton would be able to keep up the pinning down of Kuro, and if released the dinosaur would have gotten back onto his feet, the black flames burning faintly onto his body.
"Guess it's time to prepare a climax~ This one is for Lady Claire!"
Declaring with a smile Reikiko raised her right arm into the air, the shadows having formed a gauntlet that shone with a bright obsidian hue, making Kuro's muscles seemingly bulk as he basked in the power of the gauntlet.
"At least we don't need to worry about cleaning up~"
Reikiko's teasing remark was accompanied by a feral roar from Kuro, the dinosaur preparing for yet another clash, for even if he had endured some serious damage from that bearhug and his own Dark Megaflame, his adrenaline rush was growing more intense by the moment!
"Let's go Leyton!"
A challenging taunt was made as the Black Greymon rushed forwards, intending to body-slam straight into Leyton, disregarding the threat of his razor-sharp fur!

With Leyton answering his charge just like Kuro had desired, the dinosaur grinned, wanting to end this on a melee basis. He lowered his head in a similar fashion like a bull charging at its target, his horned skull aimed straight at the approaching fist when finally they clashed. He could feel the sheer velocity and strength of the punch send a tremor through his entire body, the clash of the Dark Great Horn Attack versus the Exploding Fist of Leyton finally concluded with a massive energy gust that forced Shademon to wrap itself around Reikiko's body more firmly, shielding her from all the glass fragments that were send flying into her direction.
However, even with this powerful clash of forces Kuro couldn't overwhelm his foe just yet, the dinosaur finally forced a few steps backwards after their clash concluded, feeling the horn, the very same one he had regrown after his battle with Walter was torn from the clash, yet another sign that those warriors just loved to get his horns off!
Judging from his movements he is getting exhausted... Understandable, not many share Kuro's affinity for dark evolutions so at most he might have a minute or two left in that form.
With a hint of curiosity in her eyes Reikiko resumed to watch the ongoing battle, the two panting warriors seemingly preparing for yet another clash. Would this become the decisive blow? Would one of them be able to make that attack to overpower the opponent? With the crowds cheering likely invigorating both warriors there was one thing Reikiko genuinely felt right now: No matter who lost this battle, in the eyes of the crowd they would had both been champions already!

A chance! That was what Kuro silently thought as Leyton's fist narrowly missed its trajectory and slid past the side of his shoulder, the two of them close to side by side as he grinned. This was it, the chance to settle it! For a moment it felt like time slowed down, the dinosaur trying to force his arms around Leyton's body and if he succeeded would have roared loudly.
The sudden weight of the dinosaur would have likely forced Leyton off-balance, and the powerful downwards slam that followed would have forced him into the ground with such a force the crater beneath them dug itself out further, a bellowing war-cry being made by the dinosaur as he seemingly believed to had finished his opponent.
If Leyton took that attack head-on, he would likely been close to finished, and Kuro was if something, always confident in his strength, so after the body-slam he rose back onto his feet, preparing to step away from the final clash, yet as he was about to turn back he could hear something shift amidst the dirt, making him turn back to look at Leyton with a smirk.
"You're the first one to still be alive after taking those hits. Worthy of praise Leyton!"
