TEAM BASICS
TEAM NAME -- THE RINGBOUND
ALIGNMENT -- CHAOTIC NEUTRAL / LAWFUL EVIL / NEUTRAL EVIL
AREA OF OPERATIONS -- NECROPOLIS
TEAM FOCUS
To assist each member in achieving their goals without the protest of those who might consider their actions "immoral" or otherwise unwelcome- this is often the pursuit of strength, power, influence, etc., but may also be something like bits or a different sort of adventure.
DESCRIPTION
The Ringbound are an independent bunch- each member typically is focused primarily on furthering themselves and their own wishes, but recognize the strength of unity. Therefore, members assist each other, swearing to come to the aid of endangered members when called upon and if possible. Members may also request assistance with long-term Digital World activities.
Mutual cooperation is highly encouraged, but no member is forced to take on any task from another in the group. They are just asked to be aware that those who do not give, do not receive- the Ringbound have a culture of "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours". Those who do decide to help are expected to follow through however, and severe punishment may be dealt to those that do not show loyalty.
Organization and new members of the Ringbound is run by Claire Lyon, though there is no real hierarchy otherwise. Where she gets these items are a mystery, but she is rumored to have connections in Necropolis to one or more powerful dark Digimon.
Group acceptance is based on strength- regardless of Digimon level capabilities or how new the tamer or spirit user is to the Digital World, Ringbound members are expected to push themselves to be the very best they can be. They strive for excellence, achievements, but not necessarily perfection. Therefore, those that show outstanding personal traits and capabilities are welcomed, such as bravery, intellect, unfeigned confidence, charisma, or a special skill.
While those who join the the group vary in individual personality, they all share the common trait of being risk takers, unafraid and even thrilled by the idea of a gamble.
GUIDELINES
1. There is only one strict rule: once you decide to assist another member, you may not betray them. Doing so is grounds for physical punishment, the extent of which is dependent on the severity of their action and consequences.
2. That said, Ringbound members are not required to take a job they do not agree with, or that will hinder their own goals. Members are also not forced to be cordial with one another- disputes are to be settled at each member's own discretion.
3. Everyone is responsible for their own actions and relationships. The Ringbound as a group aims to further each individual and their objectives while providing a possible network of assistance.
4. There are no measurable requirements for joining the Ringbound. If one is confident, competent, or otherwise talented, and of course have the bravery to put the ring on, they are welcome to join after meeting with Claire to evaluate moral qualities... or lack thereof. (( This can be done either by posting OOC below, or PM me if you want a thread for it. )) Members are also free to join other groups- again, as long as they do not betray another member after promising assistance.
5. Using the chat room, Ringbound members may call for assistance if in danger- in this case, any member available is asked to go out of their way to help them, if at all possible. Failing to do so is frowned upon, and may or may not result in an unresponsive chat next time that member is in need.
EQUIPMENT
RED RING -- To be unlocked after reaching 5 members: Unlocked. A sliver ring with a small, clear gem. Upon putting it on, the ring seems to "nip" the user, drawing a small bit of blood and turning the jewel a crimson red. It activates upon Dark Digivolution, extending the time a Digimon stays in a Dark Digivolution stage by two posts across all levels. In exchange for extended power, the ring has the side effect of causing very minor but cumulative madness in the user, whether it be a humans or Digimon in their regular state of mind.
A small thing to note- after putting the ring on, wearers may find it very difficult to remove. What seemed like a little pinch can be seen on further inspection to be thin spikes on the inside of the ring, digging deep into the user's flesh- possibly down to the bone.
OBSIDIAN GAUNTLET -- To be unlocked after reaching 10 members: Unlocked. A heavy gauntlet made of black metal, entirely covering the wearer's hand and part of their forearm. It is intricate and spiked in design, with some variation between each one. It serves two purposes- the first is to protect the wearer's arm from harm. It is capable of withstanding up to champion level attacks- above that, the gauntlet's defenses are much less effective. Its second purpose is to power the user's Digimon or Digital form, increasing offense and defense by 30%- this is triggered by simply channeling the wearers energy and will to obtain victory into the user's arm, and by extension, the gauntlet. For Dark Digimon, this bonus is increased to 50%. Either way, the boost lasts for two turns and can be used twice per thread, with a cooldown of two posts.
TRAITS
NEODEVIMON'S BLESSING -- To be unlocked after reaching 4 members: Unlocked. The same way Neodevimon's Mask assists in restraining its power, Dark Digivolved Digimon in the Ringbound group are able to maintain full control over themselves for longer than they normally would be able to, plus has the additional effect of helping calm and control the Digimon's overloaded mind, removing a 2 posts from the Dark Digivolution cooldown for a minimum of one post.
BLOOD PACT -- To be unlocked after reaching 8 members: Unlocked. Members of the Ringbound are bonded by the blood initially taken by the ring. But what the ring taketh, the ring giveth back- when the wearer of a Red Ring is severely injured, the Red Ring activates, restoring 20% stamina and health to either the human or their partner Digimon once per thread.
TEAM ABILITY
DEVIL'S WILL -- To be unlocked after reaching 12 members: Unlocked. Like Devidramon and Devimon, Ringbound humans and Digimon are able to exert powerful influence over others by using this move. While this doesn't guarantee absolute obedience, victims will feel compelled to side with the members using this ability. This can be used on Digimon to turn sides, or humans to temporarily change opinion or will.
This ability lasts at full effect for three full turns and breaks on the fourth. It cannot be used again for four more posts. In addition, previous targets may be targeted again, but Ringbound Digimon will require an additional member to keep the target under control for the second time. After the second time targeting, the Digimon will be impervious to the ability for the remainder of the thread.
As for groups of Digimon, a single Champion Digimon would be able to influence 2 Rookies or one Champion level Digimon. Two Champion Ringbound Digimon using this move together will be able to influence on the same scale of 4 Rookies or 2 Champions. However, stages above Champion level will require additional levels- at least one Ultimate and two champions will be needed to influence a single Ultimate. A Mega level would require at least one Mega and two Ultimates, with Champion users having no effect, and so on in that fashion.
Humans are able to use this ability as well, but only a single target at a time- either another human or Rookie level Digimon.
