CHAPTER I, ACT I: SKULLGREYMON [OPEN MINIBOSS!]

"Mikemon! Rowr!"

She was late. A Digimon was headed towards Triton City, and she was late. But it wasn't her fault.

She was still trying to get used to this new body of hers, which was definitely different from Salamon.

And with a new body, came a new persona. Having gotten a look at what she was, coming up with a backstory was pretty easy.

This cat form of hers looked like it could be a thief. So she was going to play the role of one. And this thief wasn't going to just sit around and let this behemoth destroy the city.

Taking bits would be waay harder that way ya know.

In truth, as a member of DATS, she had a duty to preserve the peace of the Digital World.

And if this Digimon was roaming around like this, then what if it had somehow found a way to the real world? 

Then they would be at fault, and thousands of people would die. The message that a threat was headed to the city had reached them, but she already had her suspicions it might get attacked.

She didn't completely understand it, because what she had been told was boring, but the Terabyte City incident implied that they would have to keep watch on the other cities as well.

The monument there had already fell, and by a group of supposed terrorists, according to her teammates.

She had recognized one name, Adam. So apparently, jungle boy was going around with his friends playing hero.

Wouldn't have been so bad if he didn't purposely attack the tower, she had thought to herself, back then.

No doubt if he showed up here, something similar might happen. Seeing as how she had missed all the fun last time, she made sure not to miss this one, and left Triton City, and towards where all the action was. Wasn't that hard to really miss.

The thing headed towards Triton City was a giant skeletal dinosaur, and already civilians were endangering themselves, trying to help stop the thing from reaching the city.

"Meow."

It was her equivalent of a sigh. While it did look like there were some strong Digimon around here, strength didn't equal knowing how to use it.

Luckily, the damage around here didn't look too bad.

Joining the other Digimon who were practically dog piling the giant skeleton, she had pounced, launching several attacks.

"Paw punch."

Using her nimble body to her advantage, she would try and throw a number of punches at the Digimon's body.

"Cat Claw."

And with each punch also came scratches with her claws. The techniques were created awhile ago, and on the spot, resembling what she believed to look like martial arts, based off her knowledge of it in the movies.

Adam felt himself fill with pride as more and more heroes arose to the challenge of defeating the ultimate level virus digimon. Adam decided that as more people arrived that he should stay on his perch up on the cities wall so that he could better keep track of all that was going on. As he saw Ryuu's digimon get poisoned he just shook his head with anger and looked down at the old man.

"Unless you want to lose them both and then your life, I suggest you leave and take cover. Rookie twins stand no chance against an ultimate. Tend to your wounded, I've got this."

Adam then smiled at Damion as he arrived on the wall. He patted the man on the shoulder and then just watched as Skullgreymon tried to fire it's missles at Remy and Renae. Adam just picked up his digivice to speak into it.

"Renae, intercept those missles! Remy, assist the lower level digimon, try and knock the monster off balance!"

Once his orders were given, Adam looked over at Damion as he said that the information wasn't displaying right on his digivice for some reason. Adam then just looked back towards the battle field and down at all of the young tamers and their lower level digimon putting themselves in harms way for the sake of the common good.

"It's because he's a corrupted digimon, the data is scrambled so our digivices can't get a lock. You should have your digimon stand with the lower level digimon like that nice tamer with the gatomon. Your Baalmon would make a good ground assult force while mine handle air and mid level strikes."

As their tamer spoke, Remy and Renae went to work. Renae aimed her arms at the missles that were rushing toward them and fire two large missiles to collide with. Once that was done, Remy jumped through the smoke of the explosion and rushed for the enemies head to deliver a hard kick to hopefully know it off balance.

"Golden missile!"

This was one colossal mess... There was absolutely no way to keep track of each and every individual tamer, let alone associate which digimon was partnered with which tamer. Some stood out due to their strength, mostly due to their Digimons also posessing ultimate forms, but then even the ones who didn't also seemed to be making a difference. While Ari carried out her attack, Yana made it a point to not be useless and also do her best. Unlike Ari, she was further away and had a better angle to see every bit of what was going on... How Skullgreymon reacted to attacks, which attacks hurt him the most, and what weaknesses she could exploit. The missiles, the claws he used to attack other with, the breath... And most of all the nauseating, overwhelming aura she was still feeling. These were his most damaging weapons, aside from his size. It seemed to ignore most attacks, at best shooting a missile in that direction, barely acknowledging the Digimon who would naturally lack the ability to scratch it. Ari's attack was one of those, even if her Heaven's Knuckle still wounded the monster and made it flinch, it didn't respond in any other way than shooting a single missile her way, "Look out, Ari! Move right!!", Yana relayed her command and Ari made it happen, trusting her tamer completely. These missiles had a massive explosion... Even with her speed she doubted Ari's ability to dodge them. But if she couldn't dodge, then she could use that attack to her advantage, escaping the most damaging part of the explosion. Dust clouded her glasses, but not enough that she couldn't see. Doing her best to calculate the missile's path from the attacks Skullgreymon previously unleashed, Yana soon called out, "Now, Ari, Pounce towards it!!" "So, that's what you want... Here goes nothing!", understanding Yana's command, Ari used pounce towards Skullgreymon. She would pass by the missile, mid jump, and when it detonated behind her, the powerful blast hurled the light, small Gatomon further into the air, propelling her towards the enemy. This would hurt a lot, though not nearly as much as what taking the missile head on might have, "Nyaa-!!", Ari let out a pain filled meow, nonetheless gritting her teeth as she landed claw-first on the Skullgreymon's rib. This makeshift strategy was far from perfect in planning, and even less so in execution. Yana intended for Ari to land right on Skullgreymon's spine, but Ari's angle was off course and all she could do was grab onto its rib not to fall off, using her claws for it... From this point onwards it was all about timing. She wouldn't fall off Skullgreymon thanks to her claws and was easily able to climb on up, all she had to do was ensure none of the other allies would attack her by mistake. Once the road was clear, she nimbly climbed back up to skullgreymon's spine, locating the result of the one attack that seemed to hurt it the most. Clinging t the monster with her claws, she turned to face its head to keep herself aware of any further attacks, before unleashing a flurry of furious claw swipes at the cracked area of Skullgreymon's spine, trying to add more damage and further eat away. She may be small, but Ari was ferocious when she was determined like this, and even with her small size she was determined to focus her attacks on where they might do as much damage as possible. Of course, she was in a precarious position: Other digimon could easily attack her by accident. Thus, Ari put her strength into it and slashed as fast as possible... As Baalmon had been successful in his tricks he'd land upon the beasts; near the 1st cervical vertebra. This bone is located upon the spine where the skull connects and as such is the strongest bone upon said neck. Despite this fact,  his strikes seemed to have manage to crack the spine some, but nearly enough to break it. However, despite his efforts the beast seemed to swing about striking at others whom either struck it's knees hit it's legs or forearm, all doing some nice damage and distracting him. Two missles fired off  at Adam Jackson 's digimon. Baalmon raising a hand would fire his amulet tags at it like bullets using 1Guiltish0. First barraging one then the other trying to blow them up mid way; if not weaken them so that adam could destroy them with a range attack before they hit. It was then the beast swung it's claw at CLAIRE LYON and struck hi hard. Using this moment to get a better grip he'd stab more into the beast; cracking spine more with basic attacks. Only to stop again as another missile was fired; once more firing amulet tags to weaken the missile in hopes to provide assistance, he'd hold on to the implanted dagger for support using 1Guiltish0. As the beast release it's Cursed Breath upon the Veemon below after their second assault, it would appear it, now was a good time to return to stabbing. As such he'd do just that hacking an slashing away with his basic hits; small mage but upon the same area with precision hopefully he' be able to chip away at it. But by this point it's general interference and aggression seemed to get on the digimon's nerves like a flea on a dog who wouldn't stop biting. As such it seemed to desire nothing more then to punish the digimon. As it roared then sent off two more ground zero missiles. One of which was moving closer to the spine then usual; aiming for him. But given his placement it would, zooming past him; that was if he allowed it. Instead, with quick thinking he'd grip the body tight with one hand and swing his arm back stab into it the missile with his dagger. His hope was to destroy both at all costs but it seemed the one was aimed for Damion had avoided the explosion radius of the first. The hope was that they'd both explode and turn the attack back on the digimon for being so missile happy, but one would have to do. However, being in such close proximity to the blast; Baalmon would receive a clean 25% damage to his health and be forced to watch his failure to save his tamer. A single tear rolling down it's singed cheeks as smoke seemed to emanate from it's body. It's arm in pain he'd hold on to what might be a collapsing fossil; hoping that the counter attack might knock it down. It was by this point the missile was mere seconds away from Damion and his life began to flash before his life; Baalmon slowly reverting back to Impmon would hug the bones hard and close his eyes afraid of the outcome. Yet in the last few seconds it would appear Damion was swept up by CLAIRE LYON in his maw before skidding across the surface of the land on it's paws. It had taken the hit for him and he owed it won. Sure they both took some damage from the blast but he took far less. However before he could thank him it was off. A true hero, smiling he'd grab his device and close his eyes a grin passing his lips. He took would repay such kindness. He too was going to be a hero as he shouted. "THANK YOU!" Impmon's face in shock as he heard his voice saw the in coming hero who saved not only his tamer but his best friend. Tears streamed from his face as he was so happy; he knew it was then if ever what a true hero was. He didn't even gloat or wait around to be thanked. He simply did it and just because it was the right thing to do. He didn't know who that mysterious digimon was but he would thank him by returning the favor. Now gripping the bone harder then he had he'd prepare to use this new found desire and attack. But before he could hear his tamer once more Again, much like Impmon he sought nothing more then to return the favor and kindness, he knew what had to be done; although this form wasn't stable. It was indeed a form he knew he must use. He'd call upon the crest of light raising his digvice as the fiery and inspired passion to be a hero filled him; Light emanating from Impmon as he heard his words shout across the field. "IMPMON WARP DIGIVOLVE!" Hearing those words brought a wide grin to his lips as the light burst forth from withing as he digivolved to Cyberdramon.  It was smaller than Devidramon but packed a mighty punch and was a real hot head for battle; with the injures still in effect for it. He'd  cock his arms back and  Roaring loudly. If this digimon was gonna play dirty then he'd have to play rough and make sure to destroy it even if it meant exhausting himself to the point of collapsing or worse dying. By this point however mist seemed to form over it's body thanks to the valiant efforts of the other hero digimon; perhaps doing it's job and weakening it's defenses. The battle cry from which came loudly from the digimon was that of his 2Double Dragon Claw3 attack. Channeling his inner dragon along side his Berserkers rage and it's boost from it's Rubber Armor. He'd turn the pain into power and really let lose. As his claws jerked upward in a strong motion striking upon the same 1st cervical vertebra that was cracking. First up in an X formation then down before rolling it's forearms then down slashing at it a second time as it's arms were cocked back. Still in it's battle lust it would fling it's arms forward trying to hit the skull greymon hard with it's 1Anti Virus Strike4 Which did increased damage to Virus digimon. Had it not been knocked down already from the explosion hopefully this would do just that; had it's leg not broken free from the attempted ice attack it would also possibly shatter it's leg. Jumping back and off having hopefully shattered the bone which held it's head firm or damaged the spine or over all do some major damage. It would roar as if to challenge the beast to get up should had it not already and to take it on. It didn't seem to care the others around were still firing off attacks at it or helping. It wanted to prove itself in combat and even more so to protect others; it wasn't happy with this monstrous digimon's action, especially trying to kill his tamer. For that he'd see to it that it would pay. It's wings flapping valiantly behind it the digimon would roar again loudly before extending it's claws and slashing at the air as if to push the buttons further and get the Skullgreymon to focus on it if not make the first move.

SKULLGREYMON CONTINUES...SLOWLY

@all Skullgreymon raises his arm, and then slams his clawed fist into ground, causing a shockwave of wind and dust to be sent throughout the field of battle. The ground cracked seconds after, dark energy pulsing forth and knocking off any stacks, debuffs, buffs, and weather effects from all those on the battlefield, using his JURASSIC PANIC attack. This does not effect status effects.

This event seemed to trigger something else - for a small legion of Skullknightmon appeared on both sides of the battlefield, surrounding the tamers and their Digimon. There was something definitely not right with the situation - as their ranks were organized and uniform. One of the soldiers stood forward, signaling the others to charge inwards and join the fray with their siege machine.

@all A legion of a dozen Skullknightmon have joined the fray! While they are Champion-level, they can be fought by Rookie-level Digimon.

Panthermon's empowered FROZEN WIND attack managed to create a thick frost over Skullgreymon's left leg, which seemed to lock up movement for the time being, at least for that limb. Two Skullknightmon would engage the Panthermon and his tamer with basic physical combat. Zachary Scryer

Skullgreymon would allow the lesser beings to take a break, however, the Skullknightmon would not. Two of them engaged the trio at this moment, using their lances to fight them with basic physical combat. Ryuu Oda

Walter remains the primary target, Skullgreymon attempting to swipe at him with a DARKNESS CLAW attack. However, due to his leg being frozen, he cannot seem to reach him at this time and instead starts to direct his attention at others. In frustration, he sends a somewhat inaccurate DARK SHOT his way. CLAIRE LYON

Just as they showed up, two Skullknightmon would engage Penguinmon and Sebastian, using their lances to attempt to skewer them both. The avian's ICE SHARD attack by some miracle landed right on the already frozen left leg of Skullgreymon - doing no damage but increasing the duration of the ice. Sebastian Devaroux

Skullgreymon finds himself getting dizzy from the lullaby, sleep being something he has not had in many eons. His aim becomes less accurate due to this, but he does not fall asleep fully yet. A single Skullknightmon engages Matthew and his Digimon. matthew mcdermott

Rukia's attacks seem to cause the zombie noticeable pain, her claws engraving his bones. He begins to focus on her and try to catch her in his sights. As soon as he does, he will attempt to crush her with a DARKNESS CLAW attack. Rukia Date

While dealing with Rukia, Skullgreymon did not see Remy and Renae's combination attack coming. The zombie is knocked slightly off balance and dealing heavy damage, and due to his frozen leg, falls over slightly. However, this does not stop him from firing off a GROUND ZERO missile and a DARK SHOT attack in the general direction of the duo. Meanwhile, a duo of Skullknightmon confronts Adam and Damion. Ari's LIGHTING CLAW attack hits Skullgreymon for critical damage, causing him to fall to his knees and for his spine to crack further. The undead Digimon then breaks the ice from his leg and stands on all fours, attempting to re-coordinate itself. It slowly begins marching forward again, despite the damage taken. A single Skullknightmon, and the presumed captain of the group, jumps on the Skullgreymon's back and engages Ari. Yana Sekigawa

Cyberdramon's attacks deal massive damage to the Skullgreymon's back, almost breaking it even, but does not stop his continued charge forward. He would go on, and when he got there - that was when he would sleep. The large Digimon would attempt to trample right over Cyberdramon on his way to the wall. At the same time, the final two Skullknightmon would engage the Ultimate level in close combat. Damion DeAndre

Things were going to get worse before they got better. Right as Adam thought they had the battle won and victory was assured, something very unexpected happened. The skull greymon slammed it's claw to the ground which seemed to unleash a hoard of skullknightmon which soon spread out to attack multiple sources. This attack was far to well organized just like the attack with the devimon and the black guilimon. Something smelled rotten about this whole thing but Adam didn't have time to think about it as two of the skull knightmon headed for him and Damion but also a couple attacks were headed for his digimon. It was time to act fast. The young tamer quickly grabbed his digivice and almost yelled into it.

"Remy to the Gatomon now!! Renae, block those attacks and then go to help that your brother! Go!"

As their orders were given, Renae rushed back towards her tamer as Remy quickly jumped his way toward the skull greymon and the gatomon and the foes she was facing. He then jumped into the air and launched a energy blade from his leg. Renae quickly turned her back to her brother and moved her body into a triangle shape and fired off a triangle shaped energy beam which would catch the incoming attacks and hopefully shoot past them to hit their foe.

"Tri beam!"

Remy couldn't help but feel proud as he tried to help the champion level digimon.

"Bring it on bozo's! Circle moon kick!"

Remy then kicked at the air sending a powerful sharp energy blade from his leg toward the duo of skullknightmon to hopefully destroy them or at the very least further injure the skull greymon. As his digimon worked hard to try and win this battle Adam grabbed his digivice again and spoke into it.

"If the tamer of the Gatomon on the back of skull greymon can hear me I am sending my ware garurumon to her aid as fast as I can. I won't make her fight alone! If anyone else can hear me, keep pushing! We have this battle almost won! Just try and keep the enemy away from the boarders! This is no ordinary attack! I think we are facing one of the seven just like last time!"

Though there was of course, no time to reply and no real need for it, Walter couldn't help but feel a slight surge of pride at the shout, empowering him forward with a small amount of renewed mental strength. Instead of simply being an accomplice to Claire's antics, he'd saved someone's life. Not only that, had been appreciated for it.

Verbal praise, nevermind words of thanks, wasn't something the Magnadramon was used to.

Claire had seen the whole thing, of course, and was slightly less than pleased about the sight. There was no denying that he'd saved the man, but in the process he got himself injured. Again. Though it would be inaudible to all at the distance she was at, a small scoff left her lips. Though there was no real malice behind the thought, that man should be dead right now- he was lucky Walter was such a knight when left unattended. Tamers incapable of fending for themselves in battle should stay far out of the way- and as much as she hated to admit it, that included her, at the moment.

Shaking the thoughts away, he snorted out the remains of his own flames. His flight into the sky was at a slightly slower pace than before but he still climbed into the air, spinning out of the way of a Dark Shot in the process- it seemed that for now, the Skullgreymon was still mostly focused on him. Now out of physical range, that suited Walter just fine- all he would need to watch out for now were projectiles.

Below, a group of smaller Digimon appeared- more enemies? He had just the thing for them.

"Apocalypse!"

His cry to the air was responded to by an unseen force, bringing dark clouds above the battle. Flashes of lightning began to shoot from the skies, their strikes somewhat random in pattern but searching only for foes- the others need not worry about them, though they might not know that.

○ BEAST OF JUSTICE - When fighting Virus-type Digimon, Walter's offensive and defensive abilities gain a small boost of about 10%.

○ APOCALYPSE - With a roar, summons bolts of lightning down from the sky to strike foes. Foes closer to the ground have less danger of being struck, while chances rise drastically while targets are airborne. Lasts a maximum of four posts with a two post cooldown. 4 posts remaining, 0/2 post cooldown.

As Cyberdramon managed to nail his Anti Virus Strike3 he'd seem to do some massive damage to that spine; not quite breaking it despite all his effort, precision and boosts; including Double Dragon Claw2. His boost not quite over left him still rearing an ready to go at least for a bit more time. Raoring ferociously at the skullgreymon it seemed to ignore the digimon like a raging child not getting it's way. Slamming it's clawed fist into ground, causing a shockwave of wind and dust to be sent throughout the field of battle. The ground cracked seconds after, dark energy pulsing forth and knocking off any stacks, debuffs, buffs, and weather effects from all those on the battlefield, this was his JURASSIC PANIC attack and boy was it a doozy.  That sudden burst of energy seemed to knock the very dragon's spirit out of the beast removing the buff amplification. Yet thankfully he still retained  fair amount of his motation thanks to his Beserker's Rage and Rubber Armor. The latter proving more useful then not as the skullgreymon bodied the figure to the ground swatting him away; his armor protecting him from a quarter of the damage.Thankfully he wans't on the ground but in the air so becoming trampled wasn't as easy but still that hit packed a punch. Flying back onto the ground a ways away from the digimon in motion he'd raise to his feet only to be engaged by two skull knightmon out of the dozen summoned. Meanwhile back at the wall Damion would take note of the actions unfolding, not wanting to get caught off guard again he'd raise his digivice and summon forth his Digitized Whip which would be used to strike upon the oncoming assault in hopes to help Remy striking the enemy from a safe distance aiming near the eyes to hopefully blind or distract it her hits to land. Running about he'd continue flicking his wrists throwing as much power as he could into the strikes; the strange as it may seem. Though it wasn't the force that was suppose to hurt them, but the electricity which would be sent upon their armor light skin perhaps adding a bit more pain to would otherwise be a possible hard slap. As he ran about trying to distract and injure them for Remy he'd grin wide as he had made it behind them, one of two thing would happen now, either he'd be able to strike from behind at either of the two if not both or they'd turn focus. Either way was a win for him, as he two change focus the strikes now were being used on the lower end of them, particularly the back of their legs where the knee bends; as mighty as any beast be this could be a problem. None the less had they turn to face him they put Remy in a perfect spot to wail on them an their knee caps to be hit. However upon a second flick of the wrist hard he'd attempt to yank the closest one by wrapping the whip around the ankle and jerking his foot out from beneath him possibly tripping him up; giving remy yet another possible shot. All while watching the further one and his spear. Eyes shifting up to adam he'd shout, "NOW JUMP HIM WHILE HE IS NOT LOOKING!" Perhaps fooling the knight to turn around and then shift the whip his way trying to trip him up before running off and behind remy ready to support her. While Damon continued to try an play Lion Tamer with the knights it was a constant battle for Dramon of hand to hand  combat each taking damaged blows. Between his Rubber armor and the Beserker Rage, the more he took the more he dealt, most blows combined less then he'd dish out to one or the other until he grew fed up, watching the giant fossil rush off to nap. It was all at once he'd rush in slashing at one skull knightmon using 1Cyber Nail0 as he slid along the possible incoming spear to not only strike at it's face inside the armor but shoulder check it too. Spinning as it jerked it's arm it would curl it's hand clawing up at the other Skull knightmon gripping at the lance before head butting it with a physical move  before upper cutting it using 1Cyber Nail0 again. Hopefully defeating the two taking some more damage; yet it's rage was peaking it's health dangerously close to 65%. Bursting forth with great speed it would zoom past any Knightmon foolish enough to get in it's way slashing at it with a 1Cyber Nail0 as it did so attempting to simply knock it up and away, more so then destroy it. Zig zagging about the battle field striking whatever it could to help whom ever even if it was just a nudge or to knock'em back; doing it's best to avoid any lighting stirke. A cleaver thought passed as the few it could hit would be stuck into such lighting ensuring the hit. A warm smile passing the other flying digimon as he bowed in admiration unsure if the other knew who he was or just how much he helped him. Bursting forth however he'd shout 'I OWE YOU ONE!' as he made forth once more towards his goal. Heading over to the beast who dare not only turn it's back upon him but also go to sleep in the middle of a battle. Such a terrible insult and even more so something that pissed him off; only further adding to his battle lust. The Berserker's Rage Teaming within in him he'd Roar loudly as he arrived in a swift stike upward through the ribs as the skullknightmon captain seemed focused on Ari; a Sneak attack that if successful would land. Not caring if he took a blow from the spear, in turn forcing itself with great speed high into the sky spinning rapidly to make it dizzy. 1Data Burst Drain2 It's claws dug into the enemy absorbing their data some healing it for fixed damage; 5%. before back flipping and heading own fast and hard into the same area it was aiming for before to come crashing own upon the big sleeping giant hoping to use the hardened bones alongside brute force, gravity and his attacks against the guard to do some serious damage. Flying back and landing behind the Gatomon, it was injured though from it's fight and the event leading up to it. He'd falter some and grin in a dragonic voice. "You alright butter cup..lets finish this guy off  and then let me worry about sleeping beauty beneath us. I got a bone to pick with this fucker" Optics shifting some to see another arrive hopefully in time; weregurumon. "About time bro-migo, although I'd prefer if you to left this bastard to me after we deal with prince not so charming. I prefer to do my hero work alone." He'd say his anti social demeanor kicking in; a possible personality change from his digivolution. As he held at his side he'd growl some finally catching his breath his rage still strong but slightly less hopefully thanks to the drain. "Now if you want to fight this knight I think I can do some more hefty damage to this bastard before he gets too close to the city. But I might need a minute or two, think you two can cover my ass or shall I deal with metal mouth and you two work over that bone I was chewing on earlier? " He'd ask as he prepared to once more fly either into the knight an take him away to fight in the sky or past him should he be granted cover, Either way this was all he ha in mind had he been successful up until this point. As Damion seemed to be handling himself quite nicely; thanks to the whip. Even if it was just for warding off the attacks or the enemy Af few flicks here and there of the wrist were made at the writs in hopes of disarming or causing flinching; allowing remy more time to strike or act playing the best support role he could; as his life depending on it. A Wise Call

As Guilmon and Veemon rest firmly beside Ryuu. He would watched everything go down and grinned. He had made the correct call waiting as the allies wailed on it from hitting the forearm to freezing it's leg to somehow even making it a bit groggy. Over all he was please to see how the battle was going. Damage was being dealt fairly well to the digimon in question as he turned to Veemon and consoled him some

"It's all right Vee bud, you did good, just rest easy as Guilmon and I protect you."

He'd say as Veemon felt a bit of a burden with that statement. It was then with a rush flowing that he'd prepare to have guilmon attack only for the Skullgreymon to raise his arm, and then slams his clawed fist into ground. It would seem to causing a shockwave of wind and dust to be sent throughout the field of battle. The ground cracked seconds after, dark energy pulsing forth; the energy hitting Veemon as the poison continued and made it cringe a bit; yet they all seemed fine in the end.

As Skullgreymon would allowed them to take a break it seemed to have no interest in them., however, the Skullknightmon surely did. So much that Two of them engaged the trio at this moment, using their lances to fight them with basic physical combat.

Tamer and Partners

As the skullknightmon charged in. Guilmon would waste no time charging in head first as he always did, brave as usual. Making an attack dubbed such for its claws' sturdiness, enabling them to smash even boulders to bits, he'd hope his ¹Rock Breaker₀ would be sufficient enough to put a few dents in his armor if not knock him back keeping him on the defensive throwing the powerful claw strikes one after another.  His assault continuing as he did his best solo.

However solo Veemon was left alone or so it would appear as the Skullknightmon struck forth at him. His Tamer bolting forth to do his best at protecting him. His cape sliced and arm bleeding some he'd grin. It wasn't if he hadn't done such a courageous thing before. After all it was to protect his digimon. It was then Ryuu would attempt to shoulder thrust the Skullknightmon making the attack somewhat negate or deflected.

Grabbing at it's wrist and twisting using pressure points like he would on a human; although not being able to hurt digimon despite his monstrous size. He should be able to counter it some and give aid to his partner by raising the lance upward towards his height using his shoulder as a prop A swift leg brought up to kick at it while holding the arm some before rolling back. It was about then Duke heard the motion as he turned and let loose. ²Pyro Sphere₁
it would Spews out a powerful flame shot.

Aimed at the SkullKnightmon trying to prevent it from attacking Ryuu as he rolled back. Yet Duke with his attention turned seemed to focus on the other enemy leaving him open for  a possible strike. Yet to his surprise a swift strike was made as Veemon built up strength to strike hard with a VeeHeadbutt upon the knightmon trying to knock it into the other. Had either of their moves hit and their abilities trigger the knightmon would be in for a nice surprise; either burned or stunned.

As guilmon looked to Veemon hurting but still finding strength to get back up he'd give him a thumbs up as the three held their ground against the two champs and smiled. Veemon cringing in some pain he spoke.

"We aren't just a tamer and his partners. We are Family."

All three would agree as they prepared to fight on.

Unexpected Help and a New plan

Had their attacks landed and they'd been successful perhaps they'd have dealt some damage to the two Skullknightmon's Yet it wasn't like they were expecting to beat them so easily; however it was about this time the berserking beast known as Cyberdramon bolted by striking at one of the targets possibly flipping them and as lighting came down from above like a god send it might hit both.

Again the Cyberdramon striking the other into the a nearby lighting bolt; by all rights most of them on the field were walking talking lightning rods. Raising his Digivice he'd shout into it,

"If Anyone one here can use a technique to magnetize them or even shock them a bit to set up the chain lighting to target where the ions are gathering you may stand a better chance. Please also, I saw some water bursts; don't forget it's a great conductor, floor the field if you can around you that should help. Manipulate the environments to benefit you people."

Had this bought them enough time to act, the two would once more charge in if they weren't already deleted and no longer electrocuted. Veemon using his ¹Buzzing Punch₀ , As he swung both of his arms in circles, striking the opponent over and over. while Guilmon would o the same but with ¹Rock Breaker₀

Nothing. There attempt hadn't even put a scratch on that damn thing. Everyone else seemed to be at least doing something to it but here they were, effectively smashing their heads on a brick wall. Whatever the creature did had also removed the speed V had been getting from the examon's wings. Thankfully, V had a way of just getting faster once he started going. Still, they'd be slower than if they still had the enhancement. What could they do now though? That card was arguably their best attack. The spear was gone, used up in the attack it'd been summoned for. Thankfully, they'd done so little damage Skullgreymon was content with ignoring them completely. However, this fight was far from over. Before she could think of something new to try, a Legion of skullknightmons joined the fray. They made their way toward the tamers. V was still out by Skullgreymon. Haru looked at her partner from her dire position and no words needed to be spoken. The little Veemon began to hightail it back her, speeding just a few feet off the ground with examon's borrowed wings. "Digimodify! Aegis and gnungir!" the girl would shout, her breath a little shaky as the fear of death creeper into her mind. She wasn't a coward, but realistically speaking these guys had swords. She had a bat. V sped his way toward his partner, the great shield and Lance of a gallantmon materializing around his hands. He'd keep the shield out in front of him and use it as a battering ram for and Knightmon he'd have to barrel through to reach the distressed human. He might not be able to stop Skullgreymon, but he'd be damned if he couldn't stop some tin men.

"Why are we heading into a danger zone again?"

Shouting out a complain at her Digimon Reikiko couldn't help but find herself steadily growing more restless as the Black Agumon darted along the hills. To think they had already left behind the sanctuary of the forest for the nearly infinite grassy plains and rolling hills was one thing, but as they arrived on top of a certain part of the plane she couldn't help but mutter a curse. A crowd of tamers and their Digimon were clearly occupying some giant abomination, and all things considered the place just SCREAMED of troubles. Anyone with a sane mind would have likely ran away, but unfortunately her digimon was far from a sane creature. The smirk on the raptor-like creature told her more than enough, especially when he declared cheerfully.

"Aneki! Let's go make some noise!"

Wait, did Kuro seriously intend to attack that giant abomination? It seemed she really had just gone from the boiling pot straight into the fire, because the Black Agumon darted straight toward the battlefield, opening his maw to launch a fireball at the Skullgreymon's head. Sure, wouldn't do much, but at least it was a Warrior's pride to tag the big bad boss!

Unfortunately, as he landed onto his feet he spotted Reikiko had at least remained sane enough to run over toward Adam, hoping to find some safety by talking to someone she was at least familiar to.

"Adam! Please tell me this isn't an 'everyday happening'?! It's one thing to get lost in this 'digital world' but giant monsters don't classify as an everyday occurrence to me!'"

However, her complains were cut short when her approach was violently halted by a tall, and rather intimidating-looking Digimon that resembled a medieval knight!

"Got to be kidding me..."

Why... why did she even think it was a good idea to introduce further into this battlefield when she couldn't even properly reach the one person she knew in this world?!

"PEPPER BREATH!"

The Blackagumon roared confidently, a volley of fireballs being launched toward the Skullknightmon in the hope of making its attention turn toward someone else. Sure, the Skullgreymon was scary enough to make him wet his pants, if he wore any... but this type of guy was not going to terrify him! Standing before Reikiko he nodded firmly at her.

"I'll keep him busy Aneki, you try to reach that Adam fella, I'm sure you're more safe near him..."

Certainly sounded like a logical decision, yet right now with a rather unfriendly Digimon being so close to the path she needed to take to reach Adam? She wasn't all that confident about the idea of running over! No, for now she would stay comfortably behind the Blackagumon till that terrifying creature was dealt with.

"What are you saying Kuro? We'll force our way through by beating this tin can!"

The words clearly invigorated the Blackagumon who growled in approval.

"Spoken like my partner! Let's get them Aneki!"

Summary:
Kuro tried to launch a small fireball at the Skullgreymon to annoy him, while Reikiko tried to run over to Adam (bad idea with the Skullknightmons seemingly being nearby!)

Kuro tried to attack a Skullknightmon with Pepper Breath to keep him busy, while Reikiko declared they are going to fight it.

Passive Active:
No fear - Black Agumon aren't know for their cowardice, as a result any intimidation effects will not work on them, but they aren't allowed to retreat unless their tamer is in danger. Doesn't work on Ultimates or higher

ATTACKS
Pepper Breath - A fiery volley of burning projectiles, this attack is split into 3 smaller fireballs, that for each one that lands inflicts the enemy with burns for 3 rounds, making them take minor damage and an increased vulnerability to fire techniques as long as they are burning (can be removed by water-based attacks), doesn't stack on itself. has a two-post cooldown.

The penguins technique would strike, though honestly it looked as though it had zero effect. Instead the creatures reaction was to strike the ground, resulting in a burst of dark energy that circulated around the battlefield, whipping up dust and dirt. The force of the srike and eruption of dark energy took the light penguin of her feet, sending her sprawling through the air and sliding across the ground, The distance cleared was enough to have Penguinmon land just short from Sebastions feet. "Penguinmon" Sebastian would utter as he moved to grasp the Penguin digimon, yet she was already returning to her feet, shaking of the dirt from her feathers. "It's going to take more than that to keep us down right Sebastian" she would say with defiance in her voice.

"Right" Sebastian replied, his hand clenched in to a fist. Yet determination would only get them so far and honestly things looked grim. For at this moment, from the ground seemed to erect from the ground at rapid speeds, it would seem to be happening over the entire battlefield. Two of these creatures formed around the Tamer and his Penguinmon, Yet it would seem the Penguinmon moved into action, sliding upon her stomach forming ice below her that would propel her in the direction of one of the digimon whom had formed, this techniques aim was to strike the legs, to slide under the attacking lances and knock the creature of balance.

Sadly this left another of the creatures whom had taken to taking out the human counterpart of the digimon. Sebastian wasn't really a fighter, he could move, he was fast. He could hold his own against a bully for sure, but a digimon who literally has lances for arms....that was trickier. Yet he weaved from side to side, doing the best he could to not be impaled. Yet time would not be on his side and though it  wasn't via the sharp side of the lance, the creatures assault came in like a swinging motion, the length of the right lance giving it optimal reach and much like a bat it came to connect with the hip of the human whom was of course much weaker than a digimon. Bones weren't broken but he was forced off his feet and sent flying into the ground.

"SEBASTIAN" a voice cried out, the penguin sliding to protect her tamer. Though it would seem the secondary knight had recovered and now joined its bretheren. Pain in Sebastians side halted him from standing. The light within his pocket growing brighter and warmer. "No...Penguinmon....run" he breathed out. Yet the two knights sent their lances forth and the bird jumped to meet them. As if using her own body as a shield.. He saw the actions, as if they were the future, he saw the death of his digimon. his heart broke pre-emptivly. "NOOOOOO" he yelled as he grasped the glowing digivice from his pocket much like a comfort blanket. The light erupted and enveloped the foursome.

Digiarmour Energize

The sound came from no were and everywere at once. The lances glanced of the ball of light, wings broke free from the shell, a head with a beautiful crest upon it, the strange and colourful bird stood, still smaller than the knights, compared to the other digivoloutions its appearance was one of laughter, it was not strong looking, in fact Penguinmon looked rather goofy in comparrison to everything else he had seen today, it definatly did not look powerful enough to stand a chance against the demonic digimon that had summoned its minions.

"MARBLE MARBLE" shouted the creature whom had replaced Penguinmon, and from her mouth orbs of light spewed forth, these orbs split in to packs of two, each duo aiming to strike the Knightmons that had dared to assault her tamer, "Sebastian, help the other humans" the creature shouted. Still in shock Sebastian looked to his digivice, the information on his partner shot forth, "Okay, Toucanmon, just stay safe" he shouted as she stood up, grasping a rock from the debris he charged towards a human wielding a bat, it would seem her digimon was fighting skullgreymon and these creatures were homing in on her. So ofcourse after getting a decent distance to the creatures and bat wielding human, he threw the rock with all his might. Honestly even if it hit the digimon it probably would do no damage what so ever but he was hoping for a simple distraction. "HEY OVER HERE, COME GET ME YOU EYE BOOBED FREAKS" Subtle right?

Toucanmon would be aiming to finish up her assailents, the marble marble if successfully connected would do sufficent damage, but the bird was not foolish despite her appearance, as her crest glowed she would release a two waves of light power that were intended to literally carve their way through the knight like digimon.

Toucanmon utilized Marble Marble which released four orbs, two to each knightmon intending to inflict damage, two orbs each cause a 6 meter explosion per area struck
Toucanmon released Crest Cutter which causes moderate heat damage and burns digimon [once crest cutter is aimed at each knightmon [two]
Sebastian is attempting to distract the Knights whom are attempting to engage Haruhi Ryuukami by throwing a rock and shouting.

The skullgreymon caused chaos in every move it made. However for Zachary's sake-- his plan actually worked! The ice indeed hindered Skullgreymon. It wouldn't likely last forever, but just long enough. Clutching his digivice, Zachary smiled and tucked in his arm in cheer. "Alright!!" he exclaimed.

As Panthermon landed from his attack, observing the now frozen limb-- Skullgremyon began to use other tricks. While the other digimon continued their assault, a gatomon running up its back, the twin digimon still fighting , also the new coming Cyberdramon's attacks and Magnadramon's as well. However, Skullgreymon retailiated. Not only did his attacks cause damage to the other digimon, but he released a shockwave that cracked the earth. Panthermon tumbled a bit as the blast nullified the boosts of other digimon--

-- but that wasn't all.

The sound of marching caught their attention as soon, as a hoard of strange skull-shaped soldiers came following Skullgreymon! Seeing them advancing faster and faster, Zachary got up and looked around. There were several of them! "OH you have got to be kidding me!" Zachary groaned as he soon found himself as well as the other tamers surrounded. He got his digivice out and soon the diagram screen appeared, revealing their data. "Skullknightmon-- Champion Level, Virus type. "

The same problem arose for Panthermon as well as the digimon was also encoutered one of them as they tried to get to him, retaliating for locking up Skullgreymon's leg with ice.

"Panthermon, look out--!" Zachary shouted but was soon startled as something came behind him. One of the skullknightmon raised his sword and swung, attempting to strike Zachary. WIth a shout, Zachary rolled out of the way, getting away from Haruhi and his perch on the hill. He rolled down the hill for a moment, but the knightmon was quick to persue, and cut the digimon tamer down to size.

Meanwhile for Panthermon, he could sense his trainer's distress. "Fools..." Panthermon growled at Skullknightmon, as it soon charged with its sword to skewer into the jungle cat. However, as it was about to bring it down, Panthermon's body faded from view-- and then was completely gone. The warrior's sword struck the ground, hitting nothing but air as he looked, seeing no digimon around. It turned its head about for a while, confused to where the digimon had disappeared to.

Back on the hill, Zachary was flat on his backside, having dodged another one of the sword strikes. The knightmon had him cornered as it rose its sword up high, attempting another strike to destroy the human.

With a growl, the soldier was about to strike-- till a shimmer of movement between them caught his surprise. Appearing directly between them reappeared the digimon, Panthermon. "Surprise..." he growled, though his tone had a touch of enjoyment as he took the digimon off guard. "SPIRAL FLAME!!" Panthermon roared, shooting the jet of fire at the digimon from a point blank range. The flames easily struck and damaged the digimon. (Damage pending, but assume enough to either repel or destroy it)

Stopping the attack, Panthermon turned to Zachary. "You okay, friend?" the cat asked with a knowing tone.

"Cut a bit close, but I'm fine-- no pun intended," Zachary half-joked, wiping some sweat from his brow and began to pick himself up.

Panthermon turned his attention back to the battlefield-- as the skullkngihtmon he had gave the slip to, spotted him again and ran to attack. Hearing the battlecry, Panthermon turned back to his first enemy-- and sprinted towards him. As he did, his paws began to glow with a black aura of energy. For a vaccine type, it was odd for one to possess darkness attacks-- but that was one of the benefits Zachary had for unknowingly created a digimon with such traits. For Panthermon, the darkness was his friend.

The two were feet apart as Panthermon pounced and Skullknightmon attempted to swing his sword. "SHADOW CLAW!!" Panthermon roared, and slashed.

The shadowy claw and knight's blade moved past each other, as did the two digimon...

... Panthermon landed on the ground, a cool and composed attitude on his face. The skullknightmon didn't move for a moment, but soon fell down, struck by the attack-- left with a three-clawed black colored strike upon its armored form.

All the while, they could see the swarm of Knightmon continue their assault, and the Skullgreymon still being attacked. From the rolling hills, the two could see the battle growing as now more enemies made themselves known. "Looks like the skull-headed fiend has friends. Let's focus on them," the panther said.

"But what about Skullgreymon?" Zachary asked, concerned if they could stop the far bigger problem.

Panthermon glanced at Zachary, his tone firm but not unkind. "As you said, we can't fight that thing head on. For now, we should focus on the enemies we can actually thin out, and rejoin the others after. " he said.

Panthermon had a point, Zachary thought as he took another deep breath to calm himself. Firming his grip on his digivice, he got ready for another assault. "Alright, let's mow them down." Zachary urged, putting his faith in the other trainers to stop Skullgreymon for now. At the very least, they had bought them time so it couldn't get to the city as fast!

OOC Notes: Panthermon evaded Skullknightmon #1 with "ON THE PROWL"-- becoming invisible and escaping from him to get to Zachary. Panthermon intercepts Skullknightmon #2 attacking Zachary and uses SPIRAL FLAME on it-- damaging and repelling the enemy from his trainer. Re-engages Skullknightmon #1 and attacks him with SHADOW CLAW, dealing damage. Both decide to help thin out the Skullknightmon, and return to help wtih Skullgreymon later if they can.

Oh dear god... She knew something bad was coming the moment Skullgreymon menacingly raised its arm, but she had no idea how bad it would be: Once more it unleashed that foul, evil miasma, dispersing all bright and motivational effects other digimon might have had, overwhelming the air with that nauseating aura. Yana's face gradually grew livid as her stomach turn and cold sweat trailed down her face, but even then she tried her best to remain focuse. She knew Ari too was struggling yet she was still giving her all; she could only imagine how bad she must feel, being atop the enemy like that... The attack was successful, and before long others were following suit, targetting the Skullgreymon's damaged spine. The way everybody looked out for each other... Even though most of these tamers had clearly never seen each other before, they already cooperated with each other with the ferocity, even with the monster's overwhelming Aura, Yana could still smile: They could do it!! Ari's attack was not only effective, but she actually went as far as crippling the Skullgreymon, knocking it down on all fours to the point when it had to crawl to keep moving and had a hard time firing its missiles. But then things took a turn for the worst: A dozen of skullnight mon walked in and started randomly attacking the group of tamers, one of them going as far as leaping atop Skullgreymon and engaging Ari! The gatomon noticed what was happening and prepared to stop her attack on Skullgreymon to defend herself, but fortunately somebody came to her aid, "It's spine is seriously wounded!", Yana informed through her digivice, returning the favor, "If you help Ari attack the same spot, Skullgreymon won't be able to move." Meanwhile, atop the Skullgreymon, the Digimon did what their tamers couldn't: Stop this shambling skeleton with tooth and nails. Even wounded as she was, she still chuckled gracefully at Cyberdramon's pun, "Funny~ I've been better, but I'll live. I still have a little trick up my sleeve, that should be enough to give you one final push.", she thanked the other Digimon for his help, taking that brief moment to focus her power... She'd been channeling data throughout this whole battle - even as Yana remained unaware - and as her body began to glow, she knew it was finally ready, "Finally... Nana-chan, hold up your Digivice!!" Surprise by the sudden glow coming from both her partner and her Digivice, Yana did as she asked and raised her digivice, and Ari would immediately feel the power well up inside her: "Gatomon Armor Digivolves to... NEFERTIMON!!" That moment the radiant sphynx form of Nefertimon revealed itself, her warm, enlveoping aura would replace the ones Skullgreymon overwhelmed with his miasma, inspiring and boosting their morale. But it would do more than that. The regal looking Sphynx would thrive with so many allies around, starting from Cyberdramon and Weregarurumon. This alone would assist them with dealing with the Skullknightmon, while Ari would simply keep up what she'd been doing before: She unleashed her other aura, weakening the nearby Skullknightmon. "Ari...", muttered an astouded, smiling at her partner's transformation... So this what that Egg was used for! And she knew it, but never told her... Why? The more she thought about it, the more Yana believed Ari didn't want to give her hope until they finally reached that point. Flying up into the air, she dove down on the Skullgreymon's back, landing feet first over the crack on its spine with her Desert foot. The guy wasn't airborne, but such an attack at such a weak link should hurt and slow him down a great deal...

He couldn't not feel relief as Margot's bubble caused some effect. Though it remained standing and mobile, the stagger put a skip to his heart. One could daresay he felt rather alive... He still harbored so many questions in both mind and soul, one being why such a prehistoric beast as this would be so violent upon simply seeing someone. That being said, those guards did sound the alarm after seeing it. If that were the case, was this monster akin to a rampaging animal of whom escaped a zoo, or came too close to a village? Was this a hungry shark phenomenon? Could it have just been looking for food- No, because that aura was killing life with every step. Defense mechanism? Possibly. Maybe it was just- The ground began to shake and crack open, a hideous energy spewing out. Both he and Margot were caught inside a shock wave, and they fell. That sense of relief was destroyed in the blink of an eye, and then it was over. As he rose, a shadow fell over his. "I knew it..." The sound of metal clinking was followed by a soft thud. A low hum traveled towards Matthew and, as he rose, he took a deep breath and tried to hold his heart in place. The being was just a little shorter than Matthew himself, and dressed in medieval garb. Only its weapons and breastplate were unique. Two lances, poised to look like drills sat at either side of two hypnotic eyes. were it not for Margot stepping before him, Matthew would've struck the knight with a kick or a punch. Her claws dug into the ground and her six little fangs bared themselves. "I knew it, but I was hoping this wasn't the case... Matthew, there's something else I need to tell you about later." The second her mouth closed, she hopped forward and attempted to headbutt the knight. His eyes wanted to be everywhere. Conversations he had before told him that Margot could hold her own when the time demanded for it. She was aware of his confusion and mental health, but was there really any time for that? To dwell on such internal things when cast into the fray? Lightning rained down from part of the field after a terrifying roar; a vocal gentleman and a humanoid dragon were bursting through more knights while running to the main event; even more dragons and a bird were fighting to their best abilities and beyond that. How frightful... This sudden culture shock was turning into something more unbelievable. Margot's words of wisdom began to echo away with every heartbeat from inside his chest. He couldn't speak, nor could he think with words. In his head, he was someone else.
