"Guiding the next generation" (Anko)

Things were going great for the trio. They were at the champion level for one thing and for another Adam's idea of starting the digital worlds new soon to be legendary hero group was going awesome. He had recently had the fortune of recruiting two human females and their digimon to the cause which was a total of three and if Adam's math was right once he added in Remy and Renae that made 5 digimon total. If things kept going as they were, Rustmon wouldn't stand a chance against them and the light would be brought back to the digital world in no time.

The trio's day started out quite simple to say the least. They decided to get up as the sun rose so that they could gather up as much fruit as they could carry each. Once it was all stockpiled at the base of a tree they decided to divide it up mostly evenly. Adam decided that since his beloved digimon needed their strength to digivolve and fight that he would let them have the most food out of the pile as well as let them eat first. While his digimon ate, Adam decided to wander off a little ways to just look around or so it seemed. The young boy had lived in this jungle almost all his life and knew it like the back of his hand but today something felt different. If he was asked to he couldn't explain how he knew but he felt like a great sadness in the jungle that was combined with a bit of fear. Adam decided to follow his heart to see where this feeling lead him.

"I know I'm not crazy. Someone is hurting close by I can feel it."

Adam kept walking and the deeper into the jungle he got the stronger the feeling became. It wasn't long until the young boy who wore a green hooded trench coat with the crest symbols in a circle with the light one in the middle, torn clothes and no shoes happened upon something he had never seen before. He stood just behind a small female child who he could tell felt scared and lost. The young wild tamer slowly approached her.

"Hi there little one. My name's Adam, are you lost? Want me to take you somewhere safe?"

Somehow Anko and Keigo had gotten lost again after they reached Terabyte City with Silica. They found themselves to be in one kind of jungle that was thick with trees and bushes. Keigo, now in his in-training form, didn't know the way back. Neither did Anko.
They had been wandering around for hours and hours, it looked like it was already night time.
Anko sat in the dirt, her back against a rock while her eyes were red and puffy. She had her arms wrapped around Keigo, as the little DemiVeemon was trying to calm her down. "We'll get out, I promishe you." He would tell her, and she would respond with a soft sob.
"I'm so sorry I got you into this, Keigo." She heaved, as another sob wrecked her tiny frame. "That'sh okay. Don't worry about it, you were just curioush about the Digital World."
Anko nodded, sniffling and laying her head on top of Keigo's. She shut her eyes, today had been so exhausting. The walking, the running from other digimon. Anko just wanted to sleep and wake up in her own bed.

"Hey.. Anko.." Came Keigo's hushed whisper, and the girl lift her head. "Hm?" "I think we should run. I hear shomeone."
Keigo climbed out of her arms, already observing the area. Though, it had already been too late. Out of the shadows, appeared a rather shady looking guy. "Anko, run! I'll hold him off!" The little Demiveemon screamed, running towards the stranger as he started talking to Anko. The girl whimpered as the man, named Adam, offered to take her somewhere safe. Adam's appearance certainly frightened Anko, the torn clothes, no shoes.. he clearly looked like some kind of abductor.
"Oh no you don't! Hop attack!" Keigo jumped up, tackling the tamer boy head on. Though, as he was only an in-training level, this would only cause a slight knock back and a light stomachache.

Anko jumped up, about to run away as she tripped over her own feet and scraped her knee. The girl collapsed, wrapping her hands around her knees.
So this was it, she was a dead girl now. So she did what every other girl her age would, she began to cry.

This was not off to a good start. As Adam approached the little girl to try and help her, her baby digimon got defensive and decided to attack him while he told the little girl to run. Luckily since Adam often did fight training with his rookie digimon, an attack from an in-training level digimon was not hard at all to dodge. Once the digimon flew passed him Adam slowly approached the little girl who had fallen down and curled up on the ground. Once he reached her he just knelt down and offered his hand to her like a prince to a tiny princess.

"I mean you no harm little one. My name is Adam, my digimon and I are the guardians of this jungle. I felt that you were in trouble so I came to help. I will not hurt you."

Adam then stuck two fingers in his mouth and then made a loud whistling sound. A few minutes later after jumping through the trees to reach him, Remy and Renae dropped down next to Adam both gently patting his shoulders. Remy then looked back at the Demi-veemon and raised his eyebrow and smiled a small smile at the in-training digimon.

"Well look at this, a demi-veemon. Those are super rare and special. This little girl must really be something."

Renae then stepped in front of her tamer and gazed down at the little human girl in front of her, her fluffy tail beginning to wag a bit as she remembered when her little Adam was that small. Renae just offered  her furry paw to the little girl.

"It's alright sweetie. None of us will hurt you. We just want to make sure you get out of the jungle safe and unhurt."

Remy decided that while his tamer and his sister were dealing with the little girl he would walk over to the in-training digimon and kneel down to his level.

"Hey tough guy, I bet you are gonna grow up to be a tough one."

Keigo missed his hop attack and tumbled to the ground in humiliation. The DemiVeemon turned around, looking fairly upset. All this time, he wasn't able to protect his tamer. And now this big bulldozer was going to take Anko away from him.
"SHTOP!" He hollered, about to charge again as Adam told Anko he meant no harm and promised he wouldn't hurt her. Keigo didn't trust him. Though, stopped dead in his tracks as the human boy stuck two fingers in his mouth and whistled. Keigo looked around himself, and visibly froze as two Renamon appeared. They were clearly stronger than him.

The yellow Renamon looked at him and pulled at somewhat of a smile. Keigo looked fairly annoyed as the beast digimon said that his kind was rare and that Anko really had to be something.

Anko looked up at the man that had offered his hand like he was a prince. Shyly, she took his hand and got to her feet. Perhaps he wasn't bad after all?
Then the black Renamon offered her a paw, and she let go of Adam's to gently shake Renae's. "Um.." She began, but was interrupted by Keigo yelling. "SHTAY AWAY FROM HER!" Right after Remy told him that he was going to be a tough one. Well, Keigo was about to show them how tough he would be.

The In-training stepped forward, showing no fear to the two rookies despite clearly being at a disadvantage.
"I told you to shtep away from Anko!" He repeated, before once again charging himself at Adam.
What happened next, however, was quite astonishing. Because mid-flight, Keigo was coated in a bright white light.
"K-Keigo?!" Anko exclaimed, taking a step back out of precaution. She wasn't sure what was happening to her partner, but it sort of looked familiar. Like the time he digivolved to DemiVeemon.

The white light shattered, and in the DemiVeemon's place was now a Veemon. And it was charging right at Adam.
"Keigo!!" Anko exclaimed, not hesitating for a second and stepping in front of the human boy. The Veemon widened his eyes and sunk his heels into the ground, ending up right in front of his tamer.
Anko, instead, wrapped her arms around the rookie. "It's okay, I don't think they're meanies, they won't hurt me.." Keigo was pressed against Anko's chest, looking quite startled himself. This was the first time that Keigo lost his temper. The Veemon shut his eyes, feeling awfully embarrassed and somewhat humiliated.
"Shorry, Anko." He whispered, but looked up with a confused look as Anko began to giggle. "You still have that speech disability, silly. Even though you grew bigger!"
Keigo pulled back and looked back down at his hands-- wait, he actually had hands now. No more little stumps, no more little waddle feet. He actually had grown.
"Oh, neato!" The Veemon exclaimed, throwing his fist into the air. "I digivolved!"

Adam and his digimon watched with large smiles on their faces as the small demi-veemon digivolved into it's rookie state of Veemon in order to protect her tamers. As the Veemon tried to attack them Adam watched as the little girl who was named Anko stopped her digimon and told him that it was alright and that she believed they weren't meanies. Adam smiled as the two hugged and celebrated. Once that was done Adam just knelt down to the two's levels so he could look them in the eyes. He then gave Kiego a thumbs up of approval.

"Good job Kiego. I'm very proud to see you defend your tamer even though your foes were higher level then you. You must love Anko very much huh? How about we get going so that it doesn't get dark before we get out of the jungle. On the way I'll answer any questions about us you might have. First things first, how about I get us a ride so you two don't have to walk anymore."

Adam then stood up and looked over at Renae who was still smiling a big smile. He then pulled his digivice out from under his shirt and smiled at the rookie level digimon.

"Do you mind giving us a lift Renae?"

Renae smiled and shook her head softly and gave the little girl a playful wink. Adam's digivice began to glow a bright green and Renae was swallowed up by bright green energy shaped like an egg as she began to digivolve.

"Renaemon digivolve to!!..Kyubimon!"

When the egg hatched and Renae landed in front of the group in her champion form she bowed her head to Anko with a small smile and moved a little closer in case she wanted to pet her. Adam just smiled a big smile and pointed to her two digimon.

"Anko, Kiego, these are my digimon partners Renae and Remy. They are ready to help you with anything you guys need. Want a ride little princess?"

Anko grabbed Keigo's hand and stared into Adam's eyes when he bent down to their level. Keigo stepped back and pulled Anko with him. The Veemon was observing the human, who looked almost like a homeless person. Though as Adam raised his thumbs and gave him a compliment, Keigo blushed, nodding when Adam said that he must love Anko a lot. Of course he did, she was his best friend.

As Adam offered to bring them to safety, Anko nodded. She wanted nothing more than to go home right now. "But--" She was about to ask who she would ride until Adam got up and asked Renae to give them a lift.
And then.. oh. so that's how they were supposed to ride them.
"That looks pretty!" Anko exclaimed, and Keigo hid behind his tamer as the blush deepened. "She's very pretty, too." Keigo whispered to Anko, who giggled in response. "Yeah she is!"

When the Kyubimon bowed her head and smiled at Anko, Keigo stepped back next to her. Perhaps these digimon weren't so bad after all.

"Nice to meet you." Anko beamed, waving at both Remy and Renae. When she was offered to ride the Kyubimon as a princess, Keigo scoffed. "She's my princhess.." He grumbled, crossing his arms.

Adam smiled at the reaction that Renae's champion level got from Anko and her digimon. As Anko stepped forward Adam smiled and gently picked Anko up and sat her softly down on Renae's back as if he was sitting a princess on a white hoarse. Renae then giggled at Keigo happily. She then walked towards him and then used her head to nudge him onto her back. She then smiled back at her passengers.

"Keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times. Have a nice trip."

Renae then winked at Kiego and began to walk away, Remy and Adam followed happily. As they walked however Adam started to feel  a bit jealous that Anko had a ride and he didn't. As they walked, Adam nudged Remy with his shoulder causing the male digimon to sigh and shrug but smile at his tamer.

"I saw this coming. Go for it."

Adam then smiled and aimed his digivice at Remy causing it to glow and Remy to be swallowed up in green egg shaped energy as he began to digivolve.

"Renamon digivolve to!...Garurumon!!"

When the energy shattered and Remy landed in his champion form Adam climbed onto his back and Remy quickly cause up to his sister and her passengers, the two digimon rubbing their heads together quickly with affection. As they road along Adam looked over at Anko with a small smile.

"So Anko, How long have you been in the digital world? Where are you from? Tell us about yourself."

Renae giggled at her tamers never changing excitement.

"Take a breath Adam, let the girl think."

Keigo avoided Renae's gaze as she smiled at him, it was making him blush even more furiously. The Veemon wasn't sure how to act right now, as he was both ashamed and a little flustered at the moment. Then the Veemon was nudged on to the Kyubimon's back, making him hold on to Anko as he was behind her. "Hey!" He exclaimed, clearly surprised at that. He didn't expect to be flung on someone's back like that. Especially since he didn't want to be treated like some kind of 'princess'.

"Take it easy, Keigo." Anko giggled, patting Keigo's hands that were wrapped around her stomach. "Listen to the pretty foxy! We don't want you to fall off!" Keigo blushed once again, though had a bit of a pouty face as he was leaning against Anko.

As they were walking, Adam apparently wanted to be carried as well, so when the other Renamon digivolved into a different digimon, Anko looked a little surprised. This one actually looked more canine than vulpine. That didn't prevent her from showing her admiration. "Whooooww!" She beamed, reaching out to try and pet the Garurumon. She liked wolves.
Keigo now pulled back from holding on to Anko, crossing his arms like a little child that didn't get his way. To his humiliation, he almost fell off Renae, making him grab onto Anko after all.
"Keigo, what are you doing?" Anko laughed, clearly enjoying herself on the Kyubimon's back. Though, she turned to Adam as he asked her a question, giggling when Renae told Adam to take a breather.

"I think.. maybe a day. We met another girl before, but we parted ways after she met her Lunamon." She replied, and Keigo looked at Adam. "We know each other longer than that, though. Me and Anko'sh shishter'sh digimon went to the real world to meet them."
That made Anko visibly flinch.
"Anko'sh shishter didn't want ush to go to the Digital World. But.. here we are." The Veemon added, knowing that he now made Anko feel bad. "I'm having a lot of fun though, in one day I managed to get to my rookie shtage. I'd shay that'sh pretty impresshive."

As Remy walked and Adam listen to Anko talk it was clear that she was really smart for her age by the way she used big words when she spoke. Adam listened to the little girl say that she hadn't been in the digital world but a day verses his seven years. As Remy walked, seeing that Anko wanted to pet him he moved a little closer to his sister and then held his head up high so that she could. Renae meanwhile giggled at how flustered Keigo was getting. It was rather cute, Adam however could see a bit of jealousy in the young digimons eyes as he said reaching rookie in one day was cool.

"It is cool keigo. My team and I are proud of ya and I can tell Anko is too. You will make champion in no time. I've been living here in the jungle with Remy and Renae since I was eight years old and we didn't reach champion level until recently. We were helping save a valley where some digimon lived from the evil tyrant Rustmon and his flunkies. The need to save the digimon and the world we loved pushed them to digivolve."

Adam then reached down and patted Remy's head and then reached over to Renae and patted hers. Adam then had an idea. Anko and Keigo were all alone in the digital world and Anko was still really young and inexperienced so it was dangerous for the two of them to be traveling alone. This gave Adam a great idea, well great for him. Adam couldn't help but chuckle with excitement.

"I have a big idea! My digimon and I have started a team of sorts! We are gonna be traveling all around the digital world stopping bad humans and bad digimon from destroying everything! It's gonna be a total adventure and it will be like we're super heroes. I only have two members but between them they have three digimon so add in Remy and Renae and that makes five. I was wondering if you and keigo wanted to join us."

Renae then giggled at her tamers excitement and then looked back at Neiko.

"I have no doubt that if you join up you will digivolve into a big strong hunky champion digimon in no time."

Remy then smiled and then looked over at Anko.

"You will be like the digital worlds very own superhero."

Anko giggled in excitement as the Garurumon walked closer to him so she could pet the giant wolf. His fur was kind of cold, but it was still soft to the touch. Anko was a little bit surprised.
Keigo, instead tried to ignore Renae's giggle, already feeling embarrassed enough for today. When Adam said that they indeed were proud of him and so was Anko, he kind of glowed with pride. Apparently they took like 7 years to digivolve up to champion, Keigo didn't want to know how long it would take him.
"That'sh impresshive too." The Veemon said, nodding as he was looking at the back of Anko. "To be honesht, I washn't shure when I would, becaushe at home I wash just a Chibomon. I never really bothered to--" "You're just lazy." Anko interrupted, looking over her shoulder to see a rather annoyed Veemon. "Hey, I'm doing all the work here." "And being lazy at the same time."

Keigo scoffed, and looked around himself. It was getting darker, plus it was getting a little colder too.
"A team?" Anko began, but Keigo interrupted her. "Oh no, no no no. We're going home ash shoon ash we find out how, Anko. Your shishter musht be upshet already." "My sister doesn't even know I'm here yet." Keigo raised his finger, but found it pointless to argue. He never won from Anko anyway, since she would cry if she didn't get her way.

Then Renae told him that if he'd join up, he would turn into a strong hunky champion. Keigo began to blush again, uncertain how he should react.
"We'll join!" Anko beamed, patting the Kyubimon's head happily. "But, we really need to get home. My mama and papa are probably very worried about me for being here for so long."
Keigo shook his head. "Time in the Digital World passhes more shlowly here, I think.. barely an hour passhed in the Real World."
Anko nodded like she understood what Keigo had told her, and giggled as Remy said her and Keigo would be like the worlds own superhero.

Adam couldn't help but cheer loudly when Anko said that she would join the team! That meant that the teams digimon count was up to six and the tamer count was up to four. Adam just smiled and threw his arms up in excitement at the idea that his team was growing even bigger and that before he knew it the digital world would be safe once more. When his new team mates began to argue about Keigo being lazy Adam couldn't help but laugh as he thought about how lazy Remy could do.

"If Keigo is as lazy as the little princess says, you might have a rival in terms of laziness Remy."

Remy just huffed and shook his head wildly in frustration as his tamer called him lazy. Though he had to admit that he was actually right for a change. Once he was calmed down he just turned his head back to his tamer and sighed as he noticed how dark it was getting. It got dangerous when it got dark in the jungle.

"Adam, Hop onto Renae and hold onto those two. We need to hurry up and get them out of here. You know how dangerous it gets around here when it gets dark."

Adam just nodded and got off of Remy and then climbed onto Renae behind Anko and Keigo and then wrapped his arms around them to make sure they didn't fall off. Renae then took off running alongside her brother. It wasn't long after they began running at their top speed that they exited the jungle and were close to a nearby lake. Once they reached the lake Renae stopped running along with her brother and knelt down. Adam then got off of her and picked both Anko and her digimon up and sat them on the ground. Both digimon then transformed back into their rookie forms with a sigh. Adam then smiled down at Anko.

"Wanna have a camp out? I get catch us some fish and start a fire to cook the fish and keep us warm. The digimon can make us a shelter. What do you say?"

Anko giggled when Adam cheered loudly, Keigo just held his head in hope the human boy would stop eventually. Though, the Veemon was rather offended when Adam said that Remy might be a rival. "I'm not lazy, I'm jusht very laid back." He corrected, looking slightly courteous. The sight of Remy huffing and shaking his head in frustration made Anko giggle. "Don't worry, Remy. You're still very cool!" She said, now starting to pet Renae again.

When Remy said that it was getting dark Anko shuddered, she sort of had a fear of the dark. Keigo noticed this and only held her a little tighter. This reassured the girl a little.
Adam climbed on to Renae's back and the young tamer felt big and strong arms be wrapped around her. Keigo grumbled, feeling like he had become a sandwich.

Renae speed up and Anko gasped in excitement, her fists tangled tighter into the Kyubimon's fur.
Eventually, they reached a lake and Renea slowed down. Were they going to spend the night here? Anko giggled when Adam lift her off the Kyubimon, Keigo instead simply jumped off, not wanting to be treated like a little child.

"O-okay!" Anko said, when Adam asked if they wanted a camp out. Anko hesitated, she really wasn't very sure of camping out in the dark.
"It'll be okay Anko." Keigo assured her. "If anything happensh, I'll be there to protect you."

The trio smiled a big warm smile as Anko said that she would camp out with them. Adam quickly ran over to the young one and knelt down to her level and gave her a big,warm and assuring hug. He then stood up and looked back at his twins who just gave the two tamers and the Veemon a thumbs up and then high fived each other before looking back at their tamer. Adam then pointed at Remy and then pointed at a large tree that seemed to be slightly separated from the others.

"Remy you are in charge of fire wood. That tree should be more then enough."

Adam then looked around at all the different sized rocks that were surround the lake front, they would need a fire pit so that the fire didn't spread and catch the jungle on fire. This was when he looked at Renae with a big smile.

"Renae, You're in charge of making the fire pit."

Both Adam's digimon nodded at their tamer before separating to do their different tasks while Adam walked over to Anko with a smile as he removed his favorite Jacket, his shirt and his digivice and then wrapped them all together in a big ball. He then offered them to Anko with a gentle smile.

"Mind watching after these while I get us dinner?"

Adam then sat the stuff down before running towards the lake and jumping in with a big splash. The young tamer then proceeded to dive down to try and catch some large fish. While Adam was fishing, Remy made his way over to the tree and jumped into the air and spread his limbs.

"Diamond storm!"

A large amount of diamond sharp leaves launched out of him and then struck the tree to not only break apart but also to fall to the ground. When Remy landed he began to claw at the tree to break it down. While her brother was busy at work, Renae started moving the heavy rocks into a circular pattern but as she did she looked back at keigo with a smile.

"Mind lending a hand sweetie? You can help to if you want Anko dear."

Anko returned the hug that Adam gave her, while Keigo tried to ignore it. The thumbs up made him look a little flustered, he wasn't used to receiving compliments yet.

The tasks were divided by the much stronger digimon, Keigo couldn't help but feel a little left out. He remembered when he had taken that attack from the Numemon to defend both Silica and Anko. Things didn't go very well, and he always felt like he had been a bit useless after that.
Now that he had achieved his rookie form, the feeling was less. But it was still there. What if someone stronger appeared? Keigo couldn't digivolve, he wouldn't be able to protect Anko..

The young girl took the big ball of clothes, nodding when Adam gave her the task to watch them. "Okay!"

Keigo watched Remy use his Diamond Storm, cutting the tree clean off its base. The Veemon shuddered, he really didn't want to be struck by that.
Then Renae started moving the heavy rocks, showing quite a few muscles. The Veemon's cheeks lit up, why? He had no idea. For some reason Renae had that kind of effect on him.
Then Renae asked if he could lend her a hand, and the Veemon shook his head wildly, like he was trying to come back to his senses. "Uh, shure beautifu- I mean, Renae. I'll gladly help!" The color in Keigo's face deepened and Anko giggled at the sight. Keigo had a rather lazy nature, so him saying he'd gladly help was sort of a one time sort of thing.
Anko shook her head when Renae told her she could help too if she wanted. "I'll watch." She replied, before turning to Keigo with a devious smirk. "Keigo has a cru-ush, Keigo has a cru-ush!" It was a hushed whisper, so nobody could hear it but Keigo. "Am not!" He hissed, scurrying after the Renamon.
"Are too." Anko giggled once again, sitting down and playing with the edge of her shirt.

It wasn't long before Fish began to fly out of the water and onto dry land with a loud thud, each fish being rather large. Once there was 12 fish total on dry land Adam poked his head out of the water and quickly swam to shore his hair and body soaking wet. As he walked over to little Anko he shook his head as if he was a dog to return his hair to it's spiky state. He then sat down next to Anko to watch their digimon. As he watched he smiled down at the little girl.

"Wait until you see the starts out here Anko, they are the most beautiful thing you will ever see. My digimon and I may not have an actual house because we live in the jungle but I gotta say all in all the view is worth it."

As his tamer walked over to little Anko and sat down, Remy was just finishing pounding the broken down tree into a large pile of fire wood. Once that was done he walked over to Adam and Anko and knelt down to their level, Remy showing a rare bit of affection, using his soft finger to boop little Anko's nose. He then looked over at Adam.

"We are gonna need Garurumon to light the fire Adam."

Adam then just nodded and unballed his jacket and pulled out his digivice. Upon touching it, the digivice began to glow a bright green and Remy was engulfed in a green energy egg as he began to digivolve.

"Renamon digivolve to!!..Garurumon!"

When the egg shattered and Remy landed in his champion form, the new large wolf digimon walked over to Anko and plopped down beside her, resting his head in her lap. Even though he wouldn't outwardly admit it, he loved the affection and attention she gave him. While this was happening Renae couldn't help but giggle as Keigo almost called her beautiful. In response as she continued working she used the tip of her tail to tickle the small rookie's nose playfully.

"You're quite the looker yourself. We should only have to finish the circle and then dig in the dirt to make sure it's deep enough that the fire won't get free."
