Yana Sekigawa Nicholas Hyde Zachary Scryer DegasVilku Mission Link(GM Post) The depths of the Dark Area of the digital world was filled with horrors and frights that most people, humans and others who support the realm of the living anyway-- wouldn't dare brave this far into the Tarpets and let alone the area beyond it. They were probably in the darkest corner of the desolate land. But there was a reason for others to brave it. The mission request came by way of a distress letter that had been sent to the team Nexus-- and then circulated to others who would possibly aid their cause. "S.O.S. Tamers and digimon to them who were lured by the promise of treasure from exploring the depths of the Apocryphal have been taken and gone missing. But I know the truth. Please, I wish for this vicious cycle to end. I request truly strong and brave souls to come here, brave the Apocryphal and save the tamers trapped here. They are sadly captive by the power of my master... one I wish to not help any more. I know my reasons sound cryptic, maybe even untrustworthy, but I can't let this horror continue. Please, save them-- for I cannot. Reach the Apocryphal and save the others. Beware of the maze, for it will play tricks on your mind and easy prey to other digimon within it. "That was the letter left for others to respond to. Naturally, a request to come to this unknown fortress of a castle was questionable. Even more so as it seemed to slowly move around. However, if there was any truth to this plea for help... it was not easy for heroic souls to reject it. And so, the gates of the Apocryphal awaited its next victims to come in and try to navigate its halls... of course there was no guarantee they could survive the journey. (OOC: Awaiting participants to meet and be prepared to enter inside)

(Player Post) The dreary sky-- if you could call the ceiling of the Dark Area a sky anyway-- was well overcast with dark clouds, even showing thunder and lightning crackling in the distance. No matter how many times he entered the Dark Area, even though willingly, it gave the young human a chill down his spine and made him walk around jumping at every sound he heard.
Zachary was one of the first people to read the S.O.S. message as it was delivered to Nexus. It was an interesting letter and one both he and Panthermon was concerned about. Other tamers were getting lost in there and never coming out. While Zachary knew it was dangerous in there, but he didn't know other tamers have gotten lost in there and never came out.
Regardless of the danger, Zachary couldn't ignore the risk. And so, he and Panthermon returned to the Dark Area to take on the dangerous challenge.
Zachary and Panthermon were now at the gates of the APOCRYPHAL, waiting for others to join them. Zachary had sent a message to Yana, showing her the mission and hoped she could come as well. This was clearly a far more dangerous challenge than just helping some local digimon. This was a rescue mission-- and the risk of encountering far stronger digimon than the duo was used to -- not since the incident against Skullgreymon.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Panthermon spoke, snapping Zachary out of his train of thought as he looked around at the darkened landscape. "The Apocryphal is a place of deception. What if this very letter is a means of luring more victims there?"
Panthermon had a good point, but Zachary choose to go for several reasons. For one, they had been to the Apocryphal before. They were one of the first people to explore it-- aside from a certain Hazardmon who called the place home. Second, was the fact they knew a bit about the risks this place had from their first visit. Worst case, they could teleport out, but that wouldn't save anyone. But finally, Zachary knew the third reason and answered that to Panthermon.
"We can't just turn a blind eye for a cry for help, can we, Panthermon? Sure it may be a trap, but if there really are kids like me trapped in there, shouldn't we try to save them?" Zachary said, holding the letter in his hand.
Despite Panthermon's more cautious nature, the cat sighed, knowing when it came to situations of right and wrong-- Zachary was rather stubborn. Stubborn, but most of the time right and justified to feel that way. "YOu're right... but promise me you will be extra careful. We only looked around the first hall the last time we were here. This time might not be so forgiving. We will be exploring the far deeper reaches." the cat warned.
Zachary nodded and looked around, hoping to find other tamers interested to take on this mission. For a place like this, it would be super dangerous to go in alone!

"Sir, are you certain this is a good idea?" Sable asked, as in a flash of light, Hyde and Sable appeared before the large, gothic looking fortress in the middle of the Dark Area. "Well, let's see," Hyde spoke up, "We got a letter asking for our help, wanting us to go into this dark, scary place in the middle of the most fucked up place in the Digital World, and offering us a massive reward for doing so, with little to no information regarding what we're getting into, or who's giving us the job," Hyde took a swig of his drink. "This has bad news written all over it."
Sable looked up at her tamer flatly. "And yet, we're going in anyway, aren't we?" Hyde smirked. "We've got everything we need. You're all primed and ready to go, I've got my arm, I've got my gun, and I've got my booze. All the ingredients for a good day out, don't you agree?" Sable couldn't help but chuckle. That was her boss for you. She glanced around as Hyde took a swig from his flask, seeing another tamer with their partner, a Panthermon. "Well, looks like we're not going in alone. There's someone here," she said, having over to them. Hyde, spotting the tamer, followed his partner as she approached them.

Things had been reasonably quiet since that whole battle in Tokyo. Shin Sekai hadn't been harassing the commonfolks with any further attempts to invade this or that town, and destroy other things in the process, yet didn't mean they were idle. Nobody believed that, least of all Yana: The recent events with Faust - the Shin Sekai fanboy - had left a pretty powerful scar on her mind, not due to anything the man himself had done, but by the side of her he had drawn out.
Yana's readiness to kill him herself was something she hadn't felt in years, and the worst part was she didn't regret any of it. If he hadn't been Karisa's boyfriend, she'd have actually killed him. And even when she talked to Kari... Her best friend seemed more worried about what Yana had done, and not so much what Faust may have suffered... And it didn't even sound like concern as much as annoyance. She couldn't get that thought out of her head... What manner of people would try to prey on Kari while she was consumed by darkness like this? She couldn't accept that! In the end she threatened to kill Faust if anything happened to Karisa but there were far worse things he could do that wouldn't require him to physically wound her.
Such as not only pulling her into that war, but into the wrong side to boot...
For this and many other reasons had Yana redoubled her training efforts. Though she had been spending a lot of time in the Matrix Sandsea, that only increased as time went on, training both herself with her gleaming naginata as much as training ari in maintaining her strongest forms as long as possible. It was during one of those sessions that she recieved Zach's message.
"What is it, Nana-chan...?", Ari asked, degenerating from her Mega form as she saw her tamer narrowing her eyes at the cell phone
"Tamers and digimon are vanishing from some place called Apocryphal... Any idea what that is?", she'd ask, to which Ari would shake her head, "Well, guess we should go help out Zachary then."
Yana certainly didn't wish his endeavor would turn him into the next victim, and for that reason she warped back to Nexus HQ, and from then on to the Dark Area. This mysterious place was right in the Dark Area, but aside from its name few others knew what it really was. Perhaps the way it kept changing itself didn't help either.
They arrived soon after, spotting two pairs of tamer and digimon, both familiar figures who were also part of the same group under a different banner. It wasn't something any of them should or would discuss here - given how other Nexus tamers might eventually come along - but knowing you were among allies always made things more reassuring.
"H-hello...!", Yana greeted shyly, still not one to speak up and draw their attention. It would have gotten the point across, "How are you all...?"
"Hey everyone~!", Ari greeted far more merrily, but no less kindly then Yana, walking up to the others and asking, "What did we miss?"
It didn't look like they had missed much but they still had to ask.

Degas Vilku Blight of the Wolf Degas trodded happily as he walked around the dark and dreary place. Honestly it felt like the underworld it was so dark. Problem is where was the fiery hellfire passion. Snake tongued women...
'My words. Hell is a place of torture not sex.' Well he was a sexy devil. 'No, no no, don't.....' After seeing his slightly sobered side his inner demon as more confused than ever. He wasn't sure which side he was more afraid of.
"YOO HOO," Degas called out as he approached. Well he be damned if it wasn't a couple familiar faces.
"Hiya boss man," Degas said chuckling in reference to Hyde. "And pussy cat too. No worries no hugs this time. After all the excitement is about to begin."
He had well...intercepted the message. He had to love doing things the illegal way. Gave a certain thrill. 'It all goes to your head.' yeah it kind of did.
"M'Lady, if I knew you were going to be here I would have brought a few roses." Degas said turning to Yana.
Was that everyone? He looked about. Kind of a small party to be braving a maze. They needed some string of something? Where were the Argonauts when you needed them? 'Seriously?'
"Is this all there is to our merry band?" Degas said disappointed.

DegasVilku Yana Sekigawa Zachary Scryer Nicholas Hyde (GM Post) As all the heroes (and anti heroes) gathered before the slow moving gates of the mysterious fortress, it was time for them to enter through it. The exchange of plesantries would soon end as the gates mysteriously unlocked-- and slowly opened to allow them inside. It was as if the living palace sensed them, and allowed them inside. Whether that was a bad sign or just freaky coincidence, that was up to them! Upon entering the castle, they would find a simple gothic set up for a castle area. The main hall was before them, marked by a simple carpet, candle wisks alit to give dim lightning and an iron chandler on the ceiling. The soft and nearly silent groans of the castle could be heard-- but of course it was impossible to tell if it was just creaking sounds of voices. Something the cats could clearly get jumpy about. Furniture was placed about the hall, showing also a small box with For now, a single path was before them, leading into the depths of the corridors beyond-- but there was no way of telling what dangers were in the halls. It would be in the group's best interest to discuss what they know of the building, the mission-- to fully evaluate the situation they were in. Once they were all ready, they could proceed and truly begin their trek into the unknown. At least in hall of the strange mansion-like setting, they could get their baring and not get attacked for now. (OOC: Once you enter, you start off in the center hall with one main passage leading deeper into the moving fortress. Take this time to consider a plan or share knowledge of what you guys know about this location, mission, ext-- then next post will begin actual proceeding.)

"So you got the letter too huh?" Hyde murmured as Degas arrived, "I'll finally get to see what you can do on a mission." And that wasn't all. Yana and her partner Ari were in on this as well. That seemed to be it then. The seven of them, going into this dark fortress all by themselves.
As they walked inside, Hyde took a look around. Standard gothic architecture, though there was only one way out of it. A corridor going straight ahead. One would have expected a foyer of sorts in a place like this, but this was apparently not the case. "Ok, before we continue," Hyde spoke up, "I'm guessing you guys got a letter too heal something about saving some guys trapped in here?" he asked Zachery and Yana. He didn't need to ask Degas. Why else would the guy be here? The mercenary leader shrugged, "Anyone else think this is all a trap?"

Yana Sekigawa DegasVilku (player post) Zachary was pleased to see that Yana in fact answered his call and decided to come along! Naturally, they were more than welcomed company. Panther all but jumped up to see her and Ani/Gatomon come over. The black cat happily ran over and greeted Gatomon with a pleasant purr. " Ani. Good to see you, as always. You are most welcome sight here of all places," he said. Zachary shook his head, clearly seeing a cute connection between his digimon and Yana's digimon too. Though the pot was calling the kettle black as Panther would often tease him how he was taken by Yana at time as well. Though the surprise was Degas was also among the people to show up, along with someone Zachary didn't know too well. Panthermon recognize Degas-- and growled at him. " YOU!!" he snarled, bearing his teeth and claws in a crouch, ready to pounce. " What are YOU doing here?! Don't you even dare try that gag again!" The two had met in another mission-- and of course the guy had tried to snuggle Panthermon the wrong way. Ended with him being mauled by the jungle cat. It was not funny for Panthermon, that was for sure. As Yana reached him, he smiled and waved at her. " Thanks for coming, Yana. We could really use your help in this one," he said, showing his gratitude with a handshake. However... they didn't have much time as the moving gates opened and allowed them inside. " Oh no. Hurry, before the gates close! " Zachary said. Dropping both good and negative formalities upon meeting, they soon entered inside the hall of the castle/fortress. Once inside, Zachary heard Hyde's worry about the place, and he let out a deep breath. Now that they were inside, getting out was indeed an issue. " Yeah we got the letter and probably the first respondents here. Panthermon already told me it could be a clever ruse for luring more victims here... but can we really take that chance?" Zachary rhetorically asked-- as the answer was clear. " So long as we are smart about this, we can manage. Yana and I, both being from the same co-op team, have a means to teleport out. Not that we intend to leave you guys here or those we rescue. Just a worse case scenario." Zachary said, showing them his digivice and the glowing Nexus app inside that allowed that power. " Anyway, even if it is a trap-- we can end the threat by destroying who sent it, and saving whoever else was suckered in. Still, the way the letter was written, it sounds very sincere to me." Panthermon gave a soft growl and nod, as all the points were given well. " Let's just go in expecting the best, but prepared for the worst. Either way, we been here before. Zachary and I know this is an ever-changing maze and why many go lost in here. Still, we should be able to manage if we have some way to track our progress. The real issue is the digimon we are likely to encounter inside. " Panthermon informed the others.

Not long after she arrived, Yana and Ari were greeted with yet another familiar face, the spirit wielder they had worked with back in Terabyte City. He wasted no time greeting everyone - earning a few questioning eyebrows when he called Hyde "boss" - and finally getting a giggle out of the Gatomon with his vague greeting which she was thoroughly convinced was still aimed at panthermon. As always, this wannabe ladies man would never settle just for ladies. Judging by their conversation, even if they were teammates Hyde himself didn't know what his self titled underling could do, and neither did any of the others. He had shown off what looked like a rookie form, but not actually fought with it.
"Oh, s-stop...!", Yana fidgeted as shyly as ever, blushing and looking away despite the flattered smile plastered on her face
Soon they all got the greetings and pleasantries out of the way, and with that they were ready to move on. Yana was just wondering just how were they supposed to get the gates open when that problem was about to solve itself without a care in the world. It wasn't more than a few moments after Yana and Degas arrived that the gates eerily swung open by themselves, "Well, that's a good sign...", Ari quipped with a hint of irony on her face. When did anything go wrong with going through freaky, self opening gates? Seems like a good start for any horror movie, even a digimon would know that much.
The inside looked ever scarier than the outside, literally a scenario pulled out of a horror movie. No matter how strong Yana got, the sense of otherwordly dread wasn't easily overcome, but nonetheless she gulped, mustered her resolve, and darted onwards. Not more than a few meters in did Hyde as a troubling question:
"EH...?!", Yana looked on visibly started by the prospect, looking around and shivering slightly, "Everything about this place feels creepy as it is."
"It's defenitely a trap, the question is by whom. We could have two opposing parties, or just a single party behind the disappearances, testing a new method of bringing in victims.", with this, she shrugged, "Then again, the only way to find out is move forward, and hope the bad guys underestimate us."
Yana and Ari alike nodded at the other duo's suggestions with a determined gaze. They were both right, but the two of them were still among the strongest pairs in the digital world. If they couldn't stop whatever was attacking people in there, who would?!

Degas Vilku Blight of the Wolf Degas followed everyone into the gothic mansion. He looked around in delight. This was his kind of place.
"My kind of place." Degas said waltzing down the hall at a comfortable pace. He then spun slightly grinning and plopped into a chair.
"What ever happens we shouldn't let it get to us. If this place is as dangerous as you make it all out to be then caution will do little but slow us down and let our foes prepare for us." Degas commented. "If nothing else I say be as random and volatile as the place itself."
'Which won't be hard for you.' Nope not really. After all it was hard to tell what he was thinking even on a good day. Although boobs and woodies may be on that list. 'Facepalm' Heehee.
"That means if they want us to go down the hall....why not go through the wall instead?!" He said delightfully. The idea of blasting their way through and surprising their foe was an appealing one.
No doubt the others would disagree though. 'Got that right. Announce our position to the whole maze why don't cha' What can he say he may be a thief but the direct approach was often unexpected and easiest. Without any information on the place it would be one of the better options.

Yana Sekigawa DegasVilku Zachary Scryer Nicholas Hyde(GM Post) Entering the First Passageway...With all their plans and resolve secure, our heroes enter into the passageway. While a certain member thought it was smarter to try and go THROUGH the wall... he would discover to do so recklessly would have adverse effects. Because of the mysterious, chaotic nature of this place, breaking through walls wantonly would only hasten their demise. So the sole path ahead of them was the only way into the palace... As they would all venture through the passageway, they came to a fork. There were three main passageways before them, each one equal in size and distance. Three different features were noticable in the tunnels. The LEFT passageway had several twists and turns in it-- but series of cobwebs were among the corners and edges of the passageways. The MIDDLE passageway was a plain straight hallway. There was nothing really extraordinary about it-- however as they would look down it, it seemed to have no end in sight. The RIGHT passageway led to a series of stairs going up and down, providing another option of direction of which ones would take them further or closer to their goal. They would have to choose which ones to go. (OOC: You are presented with a choice. All of you must decide which path to take-- and your next challenge will be based on that decision. This decision will be made by popular vote, so please everyone state which path you want to In Character go. Splitting up is an option... but it is highly not recommended. Hahaha... If you choose to split up, you must state so. If you all agree to stay together, but the vote is inconclusive-- one will be picked for you at random. Sadly, as GM and a member of the party, I cannot vote to aid your decision.)

With not much to say or do-- it was time they all took the plunge and entered the passageway leading deeper into the tunnel. Unlike the first time they entered, the hallway was far longer than he had seen it. Before, when coming here to meet Hazardmon-- Zachary found it with more turns and passages. They probably would of gotten lost if they didn't have teleported back then. It was moments like that Zachary was relieved to have an emergency teleport installed into his digivice. It was not as flashy as many others had-- but it allowed them to get out of tight pinches.
With Panthermon at his side, Zachary led the way deeper into the castle. Things were rather simple for the moment, but it didn't mean they should lower their guard.
Zachary and Panthermon came to a stop... soon discovering the fork in the road into three separate directions, each one looking more questionable as the other one. Because no one had a true idea where their target was, choosing a direction where to go was a question of chance. "Eeeh..." Zachary groaned, not knowing what to do. He turned to the others beside him, wondering what they thought. "Guys, we got a problem. Any thoughts on which path we should take? " Zachary asked, pointing to the passageways before them.
He would put in his two cents regarding the matter, but he felt everyone had the right to suggest which path would be the best to take. In the event of a failed decision for whatever reason, they could always decide by random draw.
Panthermon looked to them as well, waiting patiently for them to decide which path to take. Zachary stuck his hands in his pockets, waiting patiently as he held his digivice in it, just to ease his anxiety he kept in check.
(OOC: Again, can't vote.)

Well, so far they hadn't come across anything out to murder them. That was always a good sign. Of course now, the group had their first choice to make (well, apart from going in in the first place), which direction to take. As Zachery asked for any ideas from the gang, Hyde looked at the three paths before them. A winding path filled with cobwebs, a straight path which seemed to go on forever, and stairs going up and down. He figured he could strike the winding path. If those cobwebs were any indication, people probably hadn't gone down them in some time. And the straight and narrow seemed a bit too suspicious for his liking. "I'd probably say take the stairs," Hyde suggested, "Head upwards and see if we can get a better view of this place from the inside."

Degas' comment earned a thoroughly confused look from Yana, who more so than not understanding what he meant, had a hard time
wrapping her head around the whole "causing as much possible mayhem" option. She was a gentle, peaceful girl, so something
like that was so out of character she couldn't even concieve it in the first place. Ari chuckled and swept the option off the
table for her, "You'd spend too much time explaining Nana-chan how to do that~", she teased,
"Blowing down the wall might be a good idea, but if we do it too much we risk bringing the whole thing down on
our heads. Might not worth the trouble, but that's just me..."
Before long they had found their way inside the creepy palace, which only seemed to get spookier as time went on. What would come next, scary skeletons? For now, nothing at all...
Nothing but three passageways with no idea which one they should take. Splitting up was a very bad idea, and if no one suggested it Yana wouldn't either. Zach had no idea what to do and neither did Yana. Both girls doubted Hyde's suggestion would lead anything given the confusing look of the stairs, but they didn't have any better ideas so, "Mmm...!", she nodded, "We should all go up the stairs and see what we find."

Degas Vilku Blight of the Wolf Degas followed along bemusedly. The thought of trying to explain chaos to Yana interesting but off point. What could he say though he spoke whatever popped into his head most of the time.
"Ah yes because all dungeons and cages are found above ground and not below it." Degas sarcastically remarked. He smiled though. "Eh, who knows though a damsel in distress may be at the top of the tower."
'What the hell was that?' What he was just agreeing with the stairs option. Though up or down was a dilemma. In truth he didn't care either way. He would go with the majority. However he thought the wisest path was below not above.
"Come to think of it there is two objectives right? Rescue the tamers and find who sent that message. Going down and up might work. No doubt whoever sent the message would be upstairs and prisoners downstairs." Degas said thinking.
Again he wouldn't go it alone but if they wanted to do both splitting into pairs wouldn't be a bad idea. After all once they've done one the other may become more difficult as their reasoning would be compromised.
'Serious Degas.....I still don't understand how a good head can be hidden behind such a stupid attitude.' Oh hush it. He could be proffessional like if he wanted to. Most of the time he just wanted to enjoy himself though. ulla
