Well, so much for a surprise attack. The large dragon was already going into the flock, ready for a fight. Whatever happened to splitting them up so they don't get overwhelmed? Hyde suppressed a groan. He knew he was supposed to be trying to make nice with people, but sometimes people were just complete idiots! Then Angeli gestured for him to look over. A lone Birdramon had slipped aside, not noticing what was happening. Guess they were getting their surprise attack afterall. As Angeli prepared her own attack, Hyde silently gestured to Sable, pointing upward. Sable nodded and seemingly took aim above them. "Big Darts."With a mighty heave, she launched her lance straight up into the air. It seemed like a wild shot, but Hyde knew what he was doing. He was planning for after Angeli's attack. Providing it didn't take out the birdramon outright, he knew it would be trying to make a run for it. BIG DARTS: Sable launches her lance skyward (a new lance forming in her hands afterwards). The next post after this lance as been launched, it comes down on the opponent from above, dissolving into data on impact. If target is AIRBORNE when the attack hits, it's treated as if the target's defense is reduced by 50% and are pinned down for one post. |

Well, he hadn’t expected that. Basil kind of cursed himself with a grumble as he stayed in the air. The flock didn’t seem to respond to his little poke, like he wanted them to. At the very least, it turned out to be a good and a bad thing. The saving grace of the situation turned out to be one of the birds had defected from their flock and headed in a different direction. The emerald dragon didn’t seem to be spotted, but he hoped that it wasn’t one of them coming down to attack.
“My bad.” Basil said, to no one in general, but he hoped the others heard. Boy did he have egg on his face.
Thankfully, it seemed that everything was still going to order. One of the birds that defected indeed didn’t notice them at all, if anything; it was distracted with something else entirely. The others pounced on it the instant they had the chance. It was the only way of making their plan work. Basil decided to just keep himself in the air, keeping an eye on the rest of the birds just in case they actually did decide to react to one of them being bum rushed.

[googlefont=Quicksand] ALONG WE CAME Overwhelmed. She had been so utterly overwhelmed that she hadn't the opportunity to fight. Her pained shriek reached far distances before she slumped over. There was a smidgen of health that allowed for her to remain mostly stabilized, but she hadn't the energy to maintain her champion form. A glow encased her, and her mighty shape rapidly diminished.
"No. No. No. No."
The single Digimon, now reverted back into the form of a Biyomon, struggled to stand. She covered her beak with a claw, grimacing and grumbling. Her eyes cracked open before she openly stared at those whom had harmed her. Her wings flapped, and a terrible look entered her eye.
"You'll pay for that! I'll get the flock! They'll dash you against the rocks until you're nothing but data! They'll burn you!"
Promptly, she took off, intending to return to their concealed nest that rested nearby.

Call me a sinner Theos followed close behind the Biyomon. He would let it lead him to the heart of the nest. To the Saberdramon that lead the attacks against his friends.
Dantelion ran along underneith staying as close as he dared to his digimon. He wouldn't go running right into the middle of things however. He stopped short of being in attacking distance of the scouts. The ones that had been hovering over head for some time.
He crouched down. His metallic claws digging into his knees slightly as he watched Theos. Theos had pulled up shortly before getting too close. He circled the scouts slightly.
Dantelion thought a moment. They still needed to split the birds up. As much as he'd like for him and Theos to take care of Saberdramon themselves first thing was first.

Needless to say, Angeli sported a cruel smile to see her attack catch the Champion level by surprise; they actually already degenerating into a Biyomon. How pathetic... what a poor excuse of a Champion level. The Tiny Bird Digimon was obviously displeased; threatening to sick the flock on them. To some, that may seem like a bad thing... but when you are here on pest control duty; this was a golden oppurtunity. "Oh really now? Please do... Anyone who fights; dies." The Zirconiamon would threaten as she began to chase after the fleeing Rookie level along with the Maildramon. She did not intend to try and launch an attack just yet... for Sable's Big Darts attack was still in full effect right now. The Bewitching Beast Digimon glanced at the now falling lance as it began to take a nosedive; specifically where that bird was about to be. At worst, the attack will kill it... at best; injure it enough to stop it from escaping. While she had no doubt they could easily kill it now; the Biyomon was more valuable to them alive. Knowing where the nest of this flock was a valuable asset; and provided Sable's attack does not kill it... this dodo would be the key to that nugget of information. Heh. Maybe after they were done with this, she'd drag the bird along with her as a pet? She always wanted a canary after all. That is if it didn't die first.

Well, this could be troublesome. Or maybe not. Sable's Big Darts was still airborne, and who knows, maybe this little thing leading them to the nest would be of use to them. Maybe gain a strategic advantage there, or something of the sort. He followed after his companions, easily keeping up with the biyomon, but not moving to attack just yet. There was really no need. Hyde's datagun could easily floor the bird, let alone the champion digimon chasing it. It wasn't long before in the distance he could see something, most likely the nest. These birds really didn't go far from home did they? It seemed the bird's usefulness had come to an end. Speaking of which, where was that Big Darts?
Almost on cue, the massive dart fell from the heavens, landing down atop the biyomon like an orbital bombardment. If the attack didn't outright kill the bird, it should at least pin it down, preventing it from getting back and warning any of its friends. Couldn't have that, now could they?

Well, their plan seemed to be working, that was a success on their part. The only issue was the now-Biyomon flying away after being hit. The arbor dragon watched from a bit away, only going in once the coast seemed totally clear. He hadn't seen another attack get thrown, but he figured that they could get answers from one of them. Once he re-grouped with the others, the dragon started to speak up.
"Hey, is there anything you can tell us about-"
Before the dragon got to finish his sentence, something cut through the air. A spear tore through the bird, or what Basil thought as it careened towards the ground.
"Oh come on! Crud, I hope they're okay enough to talk..." Basil mumbled. Most likely not, he knew. There went a chance to find out what they were actually up against.

The spear had tore into her very core, preventing the Digimon from returning to the concealed nest. Its cry had managed to notify the flock of birds whom were located a farther distance away, their forms presented as naught more than shadowy figures that populated the skies. Eventually their forms grew larger as they rapidly approached. There were several of them. Originally, it had been four, but now they approached as one.
"Death!" One shrieked.
A single Birdramon moved past its sisters.
"Meateor Wing!"
It flapped its mighty wings, intending to rain down flames upon those whom dared face them.
x1 BIYOMON [ DESTROYED] x3 BIRDRAMON[ METEOR WING - flaps its wings and rains down fireballs from the air.
TALON TEAR - attacks from the air with its talons.

Call me a sinner Theos watched the Biyomon fall with a screech. His eyes instantly darting to the birdramon who had been flying just a few yards away. They approached quickly their wings a flame with small balls of fire.
Dantelion whistled shrilly giving Theos a command. Theos complied and moved in with all his weight. He kicked out with both front feet eccentually stomping on them in the air as he let himself drop with one of the birds pinned beneath him.
He took their fiery balls with a snarl. Dantelion watched and worried as he normally does. Theos was strong headed and wouldn't know when to back down if not for Dantelions commands.
Dantelion gave a short whistle. Theos stopped his fall short of the ground slamming the one bird home. His gaze shifted back up to the other two. Then to his tamer who held up a finger.
One at a time. They had to pace themselves so they would not be weary for the face off against the Saberdramon. Theos looked to the bird on the ground awaiting the next command.

Angeli could not help but scoff at how weak the bird Digimon was. Didn't even have the energy to stay alive as the Big Darts pierced her, dissolving her into data. Pathetic. Well, lucky for her; she had no time to go and absorb her; for her companions seemed to have noticed their brutal slaughter of their mate, three Birdramon approaching their group; one sending a spread of fireballs towards them. Without too much hesitation, the Zirconiamon bounded away from a few hot fireballs with a leap, they setting alight some bushes where she previously was at. Already her party began to start to retaliate, Dante's partner in his Maildramon form executing his Iron Press attack on the Birdramon that had led the assault. Intending to keep pressure on the other two, Angeli did not hesitate to charge up another Glimmer Ray; she sending it at one of the other Birdramon in a attempt to at least keep them from getting too many oppurtunities to attack them safely. Minimizing any injuries they take was necessary if they were to take on the rest of the flock eventually.

And here they came. Birdramon swooping down on them. Sure, they had taken down one of them (which Hyde could see a digitama forming from the lost data), but there was still the whole flock to deal with. Not to mention the Saberdramon, who was nowhere in sight. Well, first things first. They had to not get killed by these guys. "Sable! Let it fly!" Hyde yelled out. Sable nodded, bringing her lance up. "Big Darts!" The lance launched itself into the air. That was all they could do right now until the birdramon came closer. Until then, they had to dodge the incoming fireballs. Hyde held on tight to Sable as the Knight Chessmon began to leap around, bouncing and avoiding the balls of fire as they rained down. That training with the cannon back in Triton was paying off. Also having two others fighting the birdramon in the skies helped as well. To be honest though, Hyde was getting a little annoyed about being stuck on the ground. Would those damn birds come closer so he could kick their asses already? He was starting to think he might not be needed at this rate. BIG DARTS: Sable launches her lance skyward (a new lance forming in her hands afterwards). Oh, that was not good.
Everyone heard the cry of revenge from up higher in the skies. The birdramon sensed that one of their own had perished at the hands of them. One of them along with a few others came into view, cawing all the while. To be honest, it made the arbor dragon annoyed right off the spot. Could they just shut up and attack them? At least that would be a lot more bearable. Soon enough, one of them started to do just that. The Birdramon flapped its wings and soon spread them apart. Fire balls soon began to rain towards the group.
Soon enough, everyone either scattered or retaliated immediately, leaving Basil with a few options. Only one of them was attacking, but it was rather wide spread. The plant dragon wasn’t fast enough to dodge, so his only way of countering was to fire back at the spread. Basil flew up as fast as he could, keeping track of the balls of fire that rained down before his mane took on the metallic and jagged appearance once more. He then took a hard left, using the spin to send out a wave of enormous spikes towards the fire balls in the hopes of tearing through them and striking the birds. Hopefully the Needle Storm worked out, else it was going to hurt a bit.

'twas chaos. That was the most appropriate term for what had followed after they struck out against those whom sought to face them. The single Birdramon who had spouted off her flames was soon dashed against the ground, her form now squashed against the earth by the hefty beast who appeared to be composed of metallic material.
The next managed to be clipped by the Glimmer Ray, the attack nearly rendering it incapable of flight. It maneuvered with grace, crying out a warning to its comrade before sweeping low with obvious intent. Its claws curled dangerously, eyes shifting toward Angeli.
"Talon Tear!"
The third was struck by the spray of needles, its form unbalanced as it flapped awkwardly. Soon these flaps strengthened immensely, the bird summoning forth yet another spray of flame.
"Meteor Wing!"

Call me a sinner Dantelion held up two fingers and motioned them down. Signalling for Theos to use Tail Lance. He moved slightly closer for a follow up attack.
Theos swooped down his tail between his legs like a bee. He stopped short of landing on the bird his rear arcing down and his tail straightening to pierce his foe.
Dantelion moved in as Theos attacked. His finger claws striked out at the birdramons eyes. He would quickly retreat whether his attack hit or not. He didn't want to be in the middle of things when the birdramon when or if it got its footing.
The sounds of battle were in there ears. As the struggle began. Dantelion was quickly on edge as adrenalin rushed into his veins. The pounding of his heart could be heard and his senses hightened slightly.
Theos seemed more calm than his tamer. He remained hovering above the bird ready to use his Iron press again. He was not about to let the bird off the ground. They were better at long range and he knew it.

Already their team's coordination in attacking the Birdramons was pulling dividends. The Maildramon did well to incapacitate one, and the others weres taking damage. However; one Birdramon was deciding to take her wrath out on the Zirconiamon, divebombing the Bewitching Beast Digimon with sharp talons. "Reckless." Was all Angeli would mutter in response to that. "Luster Mirror."Quickly, a barrier of hexagonal light surrounded the Zirconiamon; easily defending her from the Birdramon's sharp talons as they raked across it's surface. A bad move on the avian Digimon's part... for this barrier was not fond of being attacked. Exploding into sharp, jagged shards of light; the barrier retaliated at the Birdramon with deadly efficiency. Unless they backed off quick, they were sure to be hit by the counter attack of the barrier alone. Not intending to give any time to think about what just happened, Angeli once more unleashed a Glimmer Ray at the Birdramon, with the intent to turn them into data.

Luster Mirror- reates a bright barrier of light around herself, defending herself from all Champion level or lower attacks this turn. Afterwards, the barrier becomes jagged, exploding off her into a shower of short-ranged projectiles, damaging any enemies nearby. (Cooldown: 2 Posts)
Glimmer Ray - Channeling the light in the air, Zirconiamon unleashes a beam of light to attack the foe from a distance.
