Five Hours with Andromon [Anais]

Hyde clearly had some experience and knowledge even Anais didn't, but she did however remember the war he mentioned. This wasn't the first time the Seven were up to no good, Lena and Anais had fought some of their minions in the last war, back when the blonde Russian still had a D1 digivice, "T-that... That's awful...!!", Lena answered with a misty eyed look, though a prompt glare from Anais

"Stay focused Lena!!", she'd call out, just as she rolled aside to avoid the slash from the Andromon. The sudden tumble did bruise her up a good bit but fortunately he tried to slash the door instead of blowing it up, which would have been a lot worse.

Her plan worked, but now came the next problem. How to squeeze the hell out of here with a rampaging Andromon? Fortunately for her, Hyde had a plan. Just as ballsy as he'd been so far, Hyde opened fire on the andromon without a care in the world, shifting between cover and effectively distracting him, "Let's move, Lena!", she urged her partner, grabbing her leaf hand and helping push her through the crack

"What about him?!", she'd ask

"Don't worry. I have plan.", and with these words, Anais squeezed out through the gap herself, immediately taking cover behind the massive door and peeking her battle rifle through the hole, shooting the Andromon right in the neck while his back was turned, "Where are you looking you second hand metal junk?!", she'd taunt, shouting through the door to get his attention. If he turned around, Hyde could use the opportunity to lay low and split while the foe was looking for him...

His move to distract the Andrmon worked well enough, getting the lumbering machine away from the door long enough for Anais and her partner to slip through. Of course, now HE had to get out, and it was hard when he was being pursued by an automated death machine. Thankfully, Anais had that covered, opening fire and once again getting Andromon's attention. Hyde had a feeling the machine was starting to get very confused right now, having to switch targets so man times, but it seemed easily distracted enough. Guess the Seven didn't put too much effort in giving this thing intelligence, probably expecting it to rely on brute force.

As Hyde slipped to cover to get out of this thing's line of sight, the Andromon turned and grabbed one of the wrecked computers, tearing it up from the floor and with a mighty heave throwing it towards the door where Anais was shooting from. The impact would rip the door clean off, sending it crashing into the hall. Hopefully the blonde Russian could dodge the deadly projectile in time.

Her plan worked as intended from two angles they easily distracted the Andromon in turn, buying each other time to distract the other. But as the Andromon ate the (proverbial) lead from her bullets, he suddenly got a really nasty thought of how to screw her over. Ripping off a large piece of the mainframe, he hurled the computer at the door, aiming to wipe out the annoying commando with one fell swoop.

"Чёрт!", she snapped, letting out Russian profanity. Lena promptly ducked out of the way as Anais pressed herself against the wall, having just realized she could use this to her advantage. Letting out a sharp, pain filled cry as the computer tore through the door - rather realistic from her vivid memories - she all but tried to convince him his attack had succeeded.

This andromon was apparently not very smart. With a little luck and her good timing, she might be able to convince him to turn away from the door. She steadied her breath, and remained still and silent. There would be no sounds to locate her, hopefullt this guy wouldn't look much closer. If he did walk towards her, she could always hear him coming...

Nicholas watched as the Andromon hurled the massive chunk of metal, taking off the door with a crash and hearing Anais cry out in pain. Dammit! Why didn't she move? He had to see if she was ok, but first that meant getting Andromon away from the door. As the massive robot walked towards the destroyed door, Hyde charged behind him, leaping up and onto his back. "Don't forget about me!" he yelled out, holding on as the Andromon began to thrash around, trying to shake him off. Hyde tried to hold on as long as he could, but was eventually thrown off, being slammed into one of the mainframes. The world spun as he tried to regain his senses.

He managed to clear his vision just in time to see Andromon bringing his sword back to strike. With a yelp, Hyde rolled to the side, just in time for the attack to pierce the machine. With a loud crackle, electricity shot up the mechanical digimon's arm, causing it to twitch and spasm. Hyde couldn't help but smile. That should stop him for a little bit. As Andromon tried to fight against the electricity coursing through him, Hyde scrambled to his feet, running through the destroyed door to see if Anais was ok.

...only to see she was completely fine. She had been faking it!?

He stopped and stared at her for a moment, only pulled away from it by Andromon tearing his arm free from the shocking machinery. "Why are you still here?" Hyde yelled out, taking off down the corridor, "Run!"

How troublesome... Turns out her plan didn't work at all. Even though her cry had managed to make him stop attacking, he was still walking towards the door. Fortunately such loud footsteps were hard to miss. Fortunately, this also meant Hyde would have a bit of time when the Andromon wasn't focused on him, perhaps Anais could be able to draw him away and buy him time to escape. That said, she'd have to run soon enough, if that guy got within melee range of her, things would get ugly. Even Lena was shivering slightly as she huddled to Anais' leg... But then Hyde did his thing again, distracting Andromon once more and eventually reaching the door, only to look at her wide eyed when she saw her to be fine. Apparently, her deception worked better on her ally than her enemy, but now that they were outside, it didn't matter.

"Repaying a debt.", she'd smirk, enough to remind Hyde when he distracted the Andromon long enough for her to get away. It was her turn to do something of the sort, or at least try. Of course, he had no need to tell her to run when she was only making sure he got away, the moment he broke off into a sprint Anais did exactly the same, grabbing Lena's hand and calling out to her partner, "Let's go Lena, get on my back!"

Using her hands and vine-like fingers, it was all too easy for the palmon to do What Anais asked, wrapping one set of vines around her torso and securing herself, asking a simple question with a serious look, "That thing we used to do, Anishka?"

"Да"

What was she doing one might ask? As the two would run through the hallway, Lena turned around on Anais back, serving as an effective set of eyes on their back, "Look out, he's getting ready to fire missiles!", she'd warn.

Behind them, he could hear the Andromon following them. It was still going as slow as ever, taking long strides, not even trying to catch up with them. As he ran, he could see the shutters on the windows. They were trapped in the damn building with this thing. It could just keep going and going until they were two tired to fight back and then finish them off. Or stall them long enough for the real security to get in, and well, that would just end badly for them.

Hearing Lena cry out about Andromon's missiles, Hyde turned back to see the mechanical Digimon launching two more rockets from its chest. Hyde was forced to dive to the ground as the missiles shot overhead, crashing into the wall in front of them with a mighty blast. Debris flew in all directions, forcing Hyde to shield his face. If that damn thing keeps throwing explosives around, he'll end up bringing the whole damn building down on top of us![/i]

Scrambling to his feet, he ran through the hole Andromon man. Thankfully this room was much bigger, an office block. With all the cubicals, they could get plenty of cover and moving space when the big guys caught up.

An idea then formed in his mind. "Keep it distracted!" Hyde yelled out, dashing towards a cubical, and a computer. He needed to find something, and quick.

Hyde threw himself at roughtly the same time Anais did, with her immediately covering her head and ears for protection as the projectiles went off, blowing up a huge section of the wall alongside them. Lena too echoed Anais' gesture, but Hyde made a good point. They could dodge the attacks all they wanted but if this guy kept blowing up the building piece by piece, they'd just be walked around inside a deathtrap: The whole thing would collapse would them inside it eventually.



But as the scientist got back up to his feet and sprited over towards the large gaping hole Andromon made, Anais knew he had an idea. This guy apparently had a lot of them and at this point all she could really hope for was whatever it is he came up with would get them both out of here... Preferrably with useful intel on Shin Sekai, especially after they just risked their lives for it.



"Fine. Hurry up!", was all she had time to urge as Andromon was back on the offensive as usual. Without much time to think before coming under attack again, Anais did the only thing she could. Slipping into the first open door she saw, she took cover behind the door and opened fire on the Andromon, aiming for its eyes to ensure it would have nowhere else to aim but her.



She was still holding Lena back... This place wasn't big enough for her to Digivolve, so she had to hold on to her strategy until they had good conditions to use it.

Hyde immediately got to work, powering on one of the terminals and immediately started diving into the network. No sense of holding back this time. They already knew they were there, so any sense of subtlety was out the window. He could already see that the building was locked up tight. No opening the windows or front door to get out. But that wasn't what Hyde had planned. He only needed to open a couple of doors, ones less important. One by one, he began unlocking them, before finally opening the last one. How long it would remain open, Hyde didn't know, but it was the only shot they had.

Meanwhile, Anais' shots definitely got Andromon's attention, the menacing robot turning and approaching the door she hiding behind, her bullets bouncing off of him harmlessly, though her shots to his eyes did seem to be effecting his vision somewhat. As he got close, he grabbed the door and with a mighty heave, tore it from its hinges, leaving Anais without any cover. Without any emotion on its face at all, it continued to approach her, moving to corner her.

Hyde rounded the corner to see Andromon closing in. He drew his datagun and fired, but this time Andromon completely ignored him. It had a target in sights and wasn't about to be distracted again. Ok, if shooting him wasn't going to pull his attention away...Hyde charged and lept up onto its back. That did it! The android began thrashing, trying to throw Hyde off of him. "The roof!" Hyde yelled out, "Get up to the roooOOOOOF!" Andromon through the lanky man off of him, sending him crashing against the wall. Hopefully this bought Anais enough time.

"Tch... Why don't you die?!", Anais snarled, frustration welling up alongside a healthy dose of fear of the invulnerable berserker before her. She was lucky enough it didn't try to shoot any more missiles or anything of the sort, from that close it would have been all she wrote, no questions asked.



Maybe her constantly shooting him in the eyes was messing with his targeting systems somewhat? It was a good thing to keep in mind after all even an invulnerable opponent would find it hard to see with bullets bouncing off his eyes more often than not. It got close enough to pull off the door and deprive the Russian agent of cover, with Lena rushing for the nearest door, "Anichka, get out of there!!", she urged pleadingly, as Anais did nothing but stare her foe in the eyes, still shooting him in a desperate attempt to buy her partner some time.



But then Hyde did something reckless again, leading Anais to promptly head out through the door, "Don't get yourself kill!!", she'd answer, taking note of his suggestion, but not before giving Hyde one final parting gift. Just before going around the corner, she'd unleash another spray of bullets at the Andromon's eyes, right after he threw off Hyde. Hopefully she'd distract him if only for a split second, and hopefully that would be all Hyde would need to make his own escape.



With this, she sprinted through the hallways with Lena in tow, finding only one door open, the one leading up the staircase. Heeding Hyde's recommendation, she'd rush up the stairs, higher and higher, as high as she could do.

These two were starting to prove to be a very good team. When one was in trouble, the other stepped in to help out. As such Anais' shots to Andromon's eyes distracted it long enough for Hyde to regain his senses, climb to his feet, and slip past the lumbering machine. Thankfully, with his long stride, it wouldn't take him long to catch up to Anais and Lena. Behind them, he could hear the mechanical Digimon following them. Was that thing starting to run now? Man, they must have really pissed it off.

After climbing the stairs, they came to the last door, which Hyde wasted no time in busting open, revealing the open roof to them. And nothing else. There didn't seem to be any way down except for the way they came in. They were effectively trapped up on the roof and the Andromon was quickly closing in on them. What were they to do?

Hyde joined them soon after, having managed to get clear of their relentless enemy, but as they kept going up the stairs, they would very soon find themselves without another place to run to. As Lena looked around frantically, "Where do we go now?!", Anais would look even calmer than she did before, if such a thing were possible. Almost like she had an idea. The roof was good... If the Andromon chased them all the way there, she could make a stand. There was more than enough space for Togemon to cut loose like that.



"Now... We fight.", she'd comment, taking her place behind the wall where they'd just come out of. Hopefully Andromon would choose to use the stairs instead of blowing up half the building to get to them.



She couldn't reach ultimate level again, but Lena could digivolve into Togemon, and Anais had her ways of boosting her power. Whatever process they used to reprogram him had also made him dumber, at least his programming followed basic commands they could understand and predict. Lena for one also looked a lot more confident with these words from her tamer. She looked around, as if confirming she had room to digivolve.



"If the SHin Sekai reprogrammed a digimon... What's stopping you from doing the same?", she'd ask Hyde.
