they all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling beind Adelaide stepped out of the grassy terrain of the Domain Savannah into the gray-scale surroundings that was Terabyte city. She had been informed that this would probably be her best bet of getting some information about this new found world. Ice blue eyes peered out at the city from under her purple hood, a small amount of her black fringe escaping to frame her face. She sighed before settling against a wall. Sure, getting information would be pretty easy, if she wasn't scared out of her mind to ask someone. So for a small amount of time she watched as people and Digimon alike passed by her, some giving her a sidelong glance, others ignoring her completely. She held her Digivice in one hand, flipping it every so often. Since she had found her partner's egg, it hadn't done much at. Actually, it hadn't done anything at all. A small rumbling in her stomach reminded her that, even though it was midnight back home, the last time she had eaten was around six yesterday at the hotel back in D.C. Her and her father were staying in the capital before heading off to Milan for him to report and then off to his next assignment as a consul. It had been about two weeks since she had last seen her mother and step father. A rustling in her bag caught her attention. She slid her bag off her shoulder and opened it, smiling at the small Botamon that was rustling around in her bag. The small Fresh digimon stared up at it's tamer, yellow beady eyes narrowed before it let out a string of unintelligible sounds followed by bubbles. She took the small Digimon into her arms, before shouldering her bag again. "Ha, I guess you must be hungry too." Her smile turned into a puzzled frown. "I just don't know where to go..." she whispered and sighed before heading off in a general direction, holding tight to her partner.

Damn it all. Just bloody damn it all. This was what was going on Nikumo's mind as she walked across the streets, asking random individuals about the whereabouts of a Pilomon. The girl scowled impatiently as she swiveled her head around for any sign of a pink mammal Digimon. The closest thing she's seen so far has been a Rabbitmon, but obviously too rabbit-like to be Nyx. 

Oh WHY did Nyx have to leave in a unfamiliar city? The Rookie level begged the short-haired girl to get her some ice cream at a little ice cream parlour, but due to being poor as hell, she denied the request. She bet the little skank ran off or something to get some or something, but she really could not be sure. Frankly, her partner was more than "unusual". Besides, the Pilomon was flat broke... what good was she going to get if she wasn't the one who had the money? Regardless, it was an irritating venture this had turned out to be. One second in the restroom, the next second abandoned in the middle of a unknown city by your scumbag partner. 

Desperate for any potential lead on the whereabouts of her partner, the very boyish-looking girl had been asking individual after individual, though the answer's always been the same. Regardless, she wasn't done just yet. Noticing a human girl in a hoodie, Nikumo hustled towards her, gently tapping the girl's shoulder. "Heeey... you by chance have seen some weird pink pillow sheep walk by? About so-and-so tall, has a look on her face that makes you want to punch her... Any word?" Nikumo would note that in her hands, she had a Botamon, a Fresh level Digimon... so must have meant she was either new to the Digital World too or her partner just liked to stay bite-sized.

they all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling beind A tap on her shoulder caused Adelaide to jolt and flail before quickly catching herself on the cool cement of the brick building she had been leaning against. She blinked rapidly, eyes wide at the white-haired...uhm, person tapping her shoulder. A blush warmed her cheeks as she tried to recant what she had just heard. Was she being asked about a 'pink pillow sheep?'  "Uh," the raven-haired teen stammered. "Uhm, no I didn't sorry." She replied. By this person's looks, they might be Japanese too. It seemed that the Digital World favored the rising sun country, but what did she know? She had only met one other person.  "I'm sorry. No I haven't," she quickly added, tilting her head downwards. "Sorry, we're, er, I am new here." She said, quickly thinking that her partner might not be so new, but then again, wasn't he fresh from an egg?  The teen jostled around, holding the Botamon as if it was a baby. It blew out a couple of bubbles as it's tamer moved from side to side, as if sensing her anxiety. "I-I don't know much about the area," she murmured, glancing down to pat her new found partner. She wasn't even sure if it had a name, remembering that each Digimon had a specific species name, like the Agumon--or was it BlackAgumon--from before?  She blanched slightly at the girl's statement about being punched in the face. "I-I don't think I wanna punch anyone..."  Just then a question popped up in her head. "Did you lose your partner?" she asked, tilting her head to the side, much like a puppy dog or other animal would out of curiosity.

Nikumo almost felt a bit bad for scaring the girl... she looking about as confused as she did. Had to be kinda frightening to suddenly be talking to some random stranger who was at least a head taller than them. She looked a bit young, but out here in the Digital World, she knew that all humans were practically equals here. Regardless, sadly seemed that this was a deadend too, she not having heard anything relating a runaway Pilomon. "Aww drat. Sorry for bothering ya then..." While she debated just running off again, she ended up figuring that it would have been just her wasting her time. Nyx was a smart individual... she'd be more likely to be found by Nyx than the other way around. Deciding it was not worth her time, she stuck around for a bit long, her eyes widening at hearing that the girl was in fact a newcomer too! "Oh! I'm pretty new too actually. First time I've been in this particular city, so I'm actually pretty clueless too. Hey, least you aren't alone in that regard!" She'd say, awkwardly placing a hand behind her back as she smile a bit doofily. 

"Yeah actually. I'm a tamer too, but my dipshit partner ran off on me while I was in the girl's restroom." She'd explain, giving a little insight as to why she was trying to find the Pilomon. However, the tone she said this did sound a bit rude, something she quickly caught. "N-not that I'm a bad person! It's just that my partner... dang, I don't know where to start with that girl. She's probably the weirdest person I've ever known... I mean dang, not even my friends' Digimon are this weird!" She'd quickly defend herself, not wanting to be seen as a rude person. Well, okay... she was brash, but she never was malicious towards people generally unless they really pissed her off! 

"But yeah. She's somewhere in this city and I don't know where. I think she may be off trying to buy ice cream or something, but I have no idea how she could do that without money." She'd ramble, for a brief moment the girl place a hand in her pocket, she for a moment fidgeting in it, realizing something was missing. Something wallet-like. Nikumo stared at her empty hand as she pulled it back out, sighing slightly. 

Damn. That sheep was good. 

"Well. There goes my money. Ugh. I feel like a mom whose dealing with a teenager whose way too smart for their own good." She'd say irritantly, kicking a soda can on the ground in frustration. Damn sheep. She didn't care if they were partners, she was getting an asswhoopin'. Nikumo took a deep breath, letting out a sigh before putting on a friendly face. "Ah don't mind me. Name's Nikumo, but you can call me Nick or Nikky. I really don't care."

She hadn't inconvenienced Addi at all, just startled her and that wasn't saying much as a lot of things startled the young teen. A small smile flickered to Addi's lips as the other girl revealed that this was actually her first time in this city as well. This made her feel slightly better, but she also hated that she had lost her partner in this big place at the same time. The girl explained that her partner had ran off, probably looking for ice cream....ice cream sounded good right about now! Addi blinked, trying to focus on the moment, but it was hard when she was still thinking about food. The girl introduced herself as Nikumo, but offered a few nicknames. Addi nodded and introduced herself, "Adelaide, Winters. But you can call me Addi." She offered a shy smile at this. In the mean time, Addi's partner would sniff at the newcomer, letting out a few bubbles of excitement. Addi smiled softly. "And this is my partner...but uh, he doesn't really have a name yet." The raven-haired teen shrugged her shoulders, bunching them up closer to ears, looking very shy. "Uh, would you like us to help? Maybe if there was two of us, we could find your partner sooner."

Nikumo nodded slightly, noting that Adelaide here looked a bit on the timid side... she couldn't blame her honestly. Being in a completely foreign world with talking monsters was by itself a freaky concept. "Nice to meet ya Addi, good I suppose to meet new people now and then, ya know?" She'd for a moment bend down so she could be a bit more eye-level with the Botamon in her lap, she giving him a gentle smile. "Heya little guy... are you going to grow up to be big and strong and protect Addi here?" She'd say, placing a hand on the Fresh level, gently petting his soft fur.

While Adelaide did offer to maybe help her find Nyx, Nikumo honestly did not see it necessary. "Ah it's fine. I don't expect for her to get lost or anything... I bet she knows I am looking for her already, and it's probably not worth the effort to go look for her. Besides... she knows her way around this place better than I do. It'll be easier for her to find me then the other way around." She'd say, crossing her arms, shakin her head. She was quick to smile again though, not bothered as much now that she wasn't alone for the moment. "Ya wanna sit down or something? All this running I've been doing has me beat."

"Uh, yeah, I guess it is," she said in reply to Nikumo stating that it was nice to meet new people. Personally, Addi did not have anything against meeting new people or becoming friends. In all actuality, she wanted to become friends, but due to her anxiety and overall poor knowledge of how to go about friends, she was rather lacking in that department. The fact that the other girl didn't seem to worried about her partner rather surprised teen, leaving her blinking her wide eyes a couple of times when Nikumo declined her off, practically shrugging it off and relaxing about it. She petted Addi's own partner, the small Botamon and asked if he would grow up big and strong to protect Addi. 'Geez, I hope so,' she thought silently, praying to whatever deity was over the Digital World, which caused her to think, was the Digital World a manmade product or something more ethereal? Addi smiled at the little black blob who was bubbling happily at the mouth, although it reminded the raven-haired girl of a crab that might foam to issue a warrant of protection, but otherwise her partner was very cute and almost wanted him to stay like this, like a mother wanted their baby to stay very young, but knew they would eventually grow up. But that probably wouldn't be a bad thing, considering where she was at. Adelaide nodded from behind her hood, allowing her back to slide down the rough hewn, cool wall. Bringing her chest to her knees, she tucked herself into a ball, which caused her Botamon to squirm and complain the one word it seemed to know "Bo, bo, bo!" Addi adjusted her body acordingly, grinning softly. "Sorry, little one. Geez, I don't even know your name yet," She mused to herself. Glancing back up at Nikumo, she gazed up through her fringe of dark hair, "So your partner, what is she like?" Addi might be socially awkward and anxious at that, but she was also curious to boot.

Nikumo took a deep breath for a moment, exhaling before smiling gently. She could see a little bit of how she used to be as a kid in Adelaide... she once also being a bit of a anti-social butterfly. If there was a way to ease the shy girl, she hoped to find it. "Yo, you don't need to be nervous... I promise I don't bite." She'd try to reassure the girl, giving her an encouraging smile, obviously showing she meant no malice. 

In regards to Adelaide's Botamon name, frankly that was not her right to say. Their Digimon were NOT pets, and they would grow up to be just as individualistic as they. Something like "Fido" would be crude, at least that was how she saw it. "Well, he's kinda your partner now, so maybe you should try thinking of a name for him? In a way, you are like his mother..." She'd ask the girl, not really minding such an idea herself. She had to admit though, it did seem that this little guy acted differently compared to Nyx when she was a Fresh level. Nyx both was chattering away the moment she hatched, but also was the one who named herself... yet this lil' Botamon acted more an actual baby. Wonder why that was the case? 

"Nyx huh? You mean how she acts?" She'd ask, puzzled by the question as she joined Adelaide in sitting down. She crossed her arms behind her head as she kicked a feet outward, idly watching the crowds as they passed by. "Honestly, I wish I could tell you more, but frankly even I have a hard time understanding her. She's really lazy and tends to act a bit ditzy... but I always get the feeling that she's both smarter and more competent than what she lets on." She proceeded to stick a hand into her pocket, pulling it inside out, showing that she had nothing in them. "Like seriously... I have no idea how she even stole my wallet while I still had it! I mean, she doesn't even have thumbs!"

they all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling beind Addi flashed another uncertain smile. She knew the girl was nice enough, but Addi just couldn't but be nervous. Especially with her just falling from the sky. Addi tugged at a piece of her hair as she admitted, "I know, I guess...I'm just getting used to being here." Her eyes diverted over to Nikumo as she asked "So, uhm, have you been here long?" As Nikumo suggested that she give her partner a name, she bit her lip, frowning in puzzlement. "I'm just not sure what to name him I guess...Maybe I'll know when he grows some. I've had him for about an hour..." "Maybe when I know more about his personality, she thought silently. Her cool gaze settled back on Nikumo as the other girl attempted to explain her own partner. Addi was still trying to visualize the "weird pink pillow sheep" but she wasn't exactly able to conjure up a mental picture. Nikumo seemed fond of her partner, to say the least, saying that she was probably smarter than she let on. Addi gave a shy smile. "You must really care for her. I hope she's okay..." she murmured. Addi might be the silent type, but she couldn't help but worry about other people, worry about their own problems as well. Nikumo Takara

"Don't blame ya. This world feels like everything is backwards in it, and there is still a lot of stuff I am unsure about in it." She add on to Adelaide's comment, fully agreeing with that statement. The Digital World was a weird, scary place... there still being a lot she needed to learn. "Nope, not been here much. About a week and a half. Nyx is kinda the brains of that operation. I certainly wouldn't be taking this all as well if it weren't for her kinda being my tour guide." 

So Addy was going to wait before deciding a name... she could relate. She'd have probably wanted to wait too if she were in her situation. "It's cool Addy. I didn't really have te choice on naming Nyx as she sorta just ended up naming herself." She could not help but let out a sigh, still perplexed by a lot of things about Nyx. "I still wonder why Nyx was able to talk and think for herself since she was a Fresh level, while your little guy can't. I can't really get much info out of her, but I think she had like a past life or something. Only explanation I can think of why she seems to know so much stuff." 

When asked if she careed about her partner, Nikumo could not help but smile. To her, it was a no-brainer. Digimon or human, the tomboy cared deeply for her friends. "She's a total jerkass, but the nice kind. The kind who is passively a bit of a troll and will annoy the heck out of ya for fun, but when the going gets rough; she has your back. Honestly, I think the best friends are like that." She smiled cheerfully, showing no sign of panicking. "She'll be fine. Sometimes you just gotta trust in yourself to believe the people you care about can take care of themselves."

Degas was prowling around the city. His wallet a little fatter than normal. He had to love big cities. It was so easy to pickpocket people. He kept his own tucked away in a pocket inside his shirt. it always looked like he was pulling it out of a bra. He had to laugh at some of the store clerks faces.

You just like showing off. his inner demon said. Which was very true. He did a small strut and slide to prove a point making his inner demon laugh. He simply smiled and looked around.

He noticed a lovely pink fluffy digimon. How cute, he intially thought. This is going to be good. his inner demon remarked making him huff. 

"Yo, pink stuff." he said approaching the digimon. "Anyone tell you your adorable." He commented and cocked his head.

Was he wrong to hit on a digimon in human form. Although in truth he was after her money and maybe beauty secrets. He wondered how she kept that volume without it looking frizzy.

Seriously, his inner demon said exasperated. You want her beauty secrets? You do realize she probably just comes like that... Perfect then she will think she is unique. I really don't understand you sometimes. That is cause I'm a genius. His inner demon scoffed and chuckled trying to hide a laugh.

Degas just kept a smile on. Hopefully she didn't find him too weird. A human just coming up and talking to her like that.

they all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling beind Addi listened to Nikumo and sighed when she learned that the other girl had only been in the digital world for a short while as well. Hopefully that meant she would be okay. Her partner would hopefully grow and they could begin to get along. She silently wondered what her partner would be like. Nikumo was obviously very fond of her partner. It sounded like she was almost a trickster and very playful. Addi giggled at this. Her eyes continued to zig-zag back and forth as people passed them on the streets. She sighed, bringing her knees slightly closer to her chest, trying to be mindful of the tinyn partner in her arms. "So, she could talk huh? Yeah, he just keeps say Mo or Bo or something. I don't really know." She shook her head, letting her raven hair fall into her eyes. "Have you thought about going back yet? I don't know how to get home..." she whispered, her voice breaking slightly at these last words. She scrubbed her eye before smiling at Nikumo with a light flush. "I-I'm sorry. "I'm sure he's just young... he'll learn fast." Nikumo would try and reassure her, figuring that the baby Digimon just needed some time to grow before they started speaking and stuff. Digimon apparently grew up pretty quick, though once they hit Rookie level, they tend to slow down some. Nyx mentioned that another name for Rookie was the Child level, while Champion was Adult level... so there was in a way a form of catergorizing Digimon by age groups.

When it came to getting home, Nikumo actually looked a bit surprised that Adelaide did not seem to know how to get back to the real world. Then again, it made sense she didn't... If it weren't for Nyx knowing about all this stuff, she'd have been stranded for quite awhile. "Oh? Do you have your Digivice on you Addy?" She'd ask, pulling out her D-Power to showcase as an example. "Nyx told me that all Digivices have some type of portal-function that lets you create gateways to and from the Digital World. Gotta use a computer though if you want to open a way to the Digital World. I just end up whenever we are tired and ready to head home for the day, I just do that to get back to my apartment in Shibuya." She'd explain, smiling lightly. "Look, it's cool dude. All this stuff is freaking weird... but I'm trying my best to get used to it. And hey! Now you know that you aren't actually stranded here!" She'd say, glad to know that hopefully in at least one way she helped someone out.

Wandering around the streets of Terabyte City, a Pilomon was cheerfully humming to herself, the lingering aftertaste of peanut butter and chocolate in her mouth. It was a lovely detour to go and get herself some ice cream... shame Nikumo didn't say yes earlier when they initially passed by the ice cream parlour, else she wouldn't have take matters into her own hooves via pickpocketing her tamer's wallet. With the now mostly empty wallet tucked away in the small sleeping hat she wore, the mammal Digimon was now on her way back. Knowing her tamer, she would have likely been already looking for her and or gave up on it, so she was mostly just wandering about until she spotted her. Seriously... how hard would it have been to find a monolithic girl who looks like a dude? Nikumo stood out like an eyesore.

As the somewhat dozey Pilomon was scanning her whereabouts, she noticed a fairly short, but well-toned redhead man glancing at her, he approaching the Rookie level. Was no one she knew, but regardless Nyx put on a smile, fighting back a laugh as she realized that he appeared to be attempting to flirt with her. It was honestly a bit amusing to her actually... why her of all things? If you had the hots for something exotic, there were plenty of more Digimon who were at least more "compatible" for a human than her in her current state. This did not stop her from at least acknowledging him though, he looking like an amusing chap. "Aww silly, my name's not Adorable... Oh wait, you meant as in the adjective?! Oh silly me, I'm so stupid!" She'd say in a delighted, but ditzy manner, giggling some. "Aww thanks sweetie, but there's plenty of girls, both in the human and digital variety that are far cuter than lil' ole me."

Unless living pillows were your thing, but who am I to judge? Nyx would idly think to herself.

Before he could say anything else, she was quick to ask him a question. "By chance have you seen a tall, fairly feminine-looking boy with white and purple hair? I'm on the lookout for them." She actually was referring to her tamer, Nikumo... but she was well-aware that alot of people had a hard time identifying her as a female with appearance alone, so she had to adjust what she was asking accordingly.

Degas chuckled as she stated she wasn't that cute. Well he'd have her on his bed. Weirdo... He wasn't going to say it out loud geez.

"Nonsense deary. You are quite cute and fluffy looking." He said dismissing her words. "Not to mention your little hat. It is quite endearing." Laying it on thick there lover boy.

She spoke of a pink haired boy and that caught his attention. A twink he would guess scratching his chin. Tone is down... good gods. You are disgusting. His inner demon complained. It took all his strength to hide a laugh. He coughed slightly.

"I have not but four eyes are better than two no?" He stated and questioned at the same time. "Allow me to accompany you for the eve. No offense meant but your short stature does not allow you to see far."

That is so going to blow back in your face. No it wasn't. Yes, no... Yes... I'm not going to argue with you ugly son of....

"I guess we should start along the street where you left him." He said and looked to her.

Addi was actually beginning to admire the small device, especially since it was her favorite color and had a very simple design. It seeed to fit perfectly into the palm of her hand. The raven-haired tamer turned as the other girl explained about going between the Digital World and the real world. She also caught the tail end of her comment about her apartment in Shibuya. "Oh, we just moved to Tokyo. Er, me and my dad did." This information was probably completely useless to Nikumo, but it was just something to fill the silence. Addi had never been much of a conversationalist and usually ended up just saying whatever fell off her tongue, if she wasn't stammering and tripping over her words that is. She stroked the tiny Botamon between the ears, enjoying the small purring sounds it made. This made her relax a little more, but she still couldn't help all the people milling about and how it just made her feel caged. Addi's small shoulders visibly slumped somewhat, a tired smile coming over her face. "Well, thanks. That does make me feel  better. I guess at least I'm not the only one who's kind of freaked out here." Addi paused for a moment, just pure curiosity. "Sorry to be nosy, but are you actually speaking Japanese? I met a girl earlier and she said she was, but to me it sounds like Englihs. I guess I'm just curious about the translator on the digivice." Nikumo Takara DegasVilku
