La Barrera del Idioma [Zo/Open]

[Bass...?]

It wouldn't be too far of a stretch to say that Naoko was feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything. Having been thrust into a world she had no clue existed and being saddled with what she swears was one of the strangest things she had met that day. See, what was originally an egg she found in the husk of what looked like a...clock robot had hatched into a small grey blob no bigger than the palm of her hand and with two beady red eyes.

That same blob was sitting at her shoulder as she walked throughout the city. Obviously, Naoko was lost. Very lost. "If you are tired, you should rest, fleshling." Naoko stopped walking as she heard an obviously diminutive and squeaky, yet very obviously robotic voice, and looked around. "Down here." The voice belonged to the little blob. "...Sit." It asked. "...Right. Why should I listen?" "Because I seek the preservation of my delegate's well being. So, please. Abide by my request, tamer."

"...I'd rather not, actually. Not yet. First I sort of want to know what...the heck's going on."

"Surely one of the other fleshlings can speak of that. Perhaps if you sought one out?"

It didn't seem as though there were a lot of humans, so Naoko decided to make use of what her english classes had taught her. "...Hello? Any other humans here?"

[Zo Zamorano]

Zo had been wandering the city alone for an hour or two. She was still waiting for her egg to hatch... and as her hand patted the egg, a frown crossed her face. The egg was nestled in her bookbag. The top of it could be seen poking out of the bag. Her hand would gently pat it as she walked- as if worried it might fall out. During her day or so here, she had seen a lot of humans, but most of them seemed engrossed in whatever they were doing. Whether it was repairing the damage done to the city in some recent event or pursuing something else, everyone seemed to be busily working away. One girl, however, looked just as lost as she did. Approaching her, Zo eyed the small blob before bringing a hand up to wave towards her. Smiling politely, she gave a soft bow the head. ”¿Hablas español?”

[Bass...?]

It had seemed like nobody was answering Naoko's call. She was -about- to sigh and dismiss her metallic blob of a newfound companion's words until she heard a voice. Another human had indeed come. "Well, what did I tell you?" The blob said. "Aren't I a smart MetalKoromon?" So that's what he was...? Either way, the blob turned to the ginger-haired glasses-donning lady. "The girl doesn't speak Spanish. I can understand it, though. Mayhaps speak it. Regardless, greetings!" He got his point across, so he elected to cease his speech.

Naoko got back to her feet and turned to look at what the little blob was speaking to. Indeed! Another human! "Oh! Uh...Hi, sorry I don't speak your language, closest I can manage is English..."

She seriously hoped she wasn't butchering the English language. Though, one's interpretation of language butchering can differ. "So...Uh...I'm Naoko. I apparently got sucked into my computer and ended up a bit far off from here...Who're you?" 

[Zo Zamorano]

Metalkoromon? Was that what the small blob on the girl's shoulder was called? Zo held her hands behind her back as she tilted her head to the side and watched the duo curiosity. As the small blob spoke, explaining that his partner, the girl, didn't speak any Spanish, Zo nodded along. She was getting use to that by now honestly. The Digimon were pretty handy though. It was neat that they could all mostly understand Spanish and that she could understand them. ”Ah! Está bien, se puede traducir para nosotros, ¿verdad?” she asked, humming brightly. As the black haired girl began to speak, Zo watched- trying to connect the dots one by one. She knew some English, but not much. The word 'Naoko' wasn't English. The girl did look somewhat Asian, so Zo was going to assume that Naoko was her name. At the mention of a computer, Zo clapped her hands. She began to mimic typing on a keyboard in front of her and then raised her hands to form a square- the monitor. Then, Zo would move her hands as if diving through the space she had previously designated as the monitor's location. She'd look up at the girl and speak in her thick Spanish accent. ”Leek tat?”

[Angeli]

Sitting alone in a chair outside of a small cafe with a cup of caffeinated tea, Angeli gazed out into the passing crowds that walked past her, paying little mind to the various Digimon. She was tired from a morning's worth of exercise at the gym here in Terabyte City, an attempt to hone both her body and mind, though that was not the only reason she was out here. The Rookie level was mostly keeping open ears for anything that would interest lady Claire, for the leader of Ringbound was a busy young woman who had many things more important to do. Angeli could not blame her... she having nothing but respect for the tamer, eager to please her. After all, perhaps she'd one day be compensated by being given a higher position in the group? Such a thought was one that delighted her even just thinking about it.

While admittingly, she would have normally just zoned out, Angeli's eye twitched open as she noticed two young human females seem to begin talking with one another, she raising an eyebrow at the unusual manner one spoke. She was able to identify the language as Spanish, a pretty common language actually for humans. Ironically, more people spoke it than English or Japanese, which a lot of humans here in the Digital World seemed to speak. While it sounded different from what the other humans she has met spoke, she was able to perfectly understand it. She couldn't help but notice that both girls seemed to be lacking Digimon who had any real noticeable strength... the girl with glasses holding a Digitama and the other one had a MetalKoromon. Newbie tamers perhaps? The carbuncle Digimon's interest was now piqued... She honestly has had not much experience dealing with humans new to the Digital World, but it was a cause worth dealing with. After all, ignorance never accomplished anything.

Neatly tossing her drink away in a trash can, the Rookie level daintily walked towards the two girls, an almost mischevious look to the Chromiamon's eyes. "Afternoon dearies. Lovely day out here today." She'd say to the two, neatly brushing some of the wool-like fur around her neck in a attempt to neaten it up. "I take you two are new here? Cómo precioso para ustedes dos. I've always enjoyed meeting new people." She then glanced at the petite girl with glasses, tilting her head slightly. "You. You can understand me... can you not? You seemed to understand the talking computer mouse just fine."

[Bass...?]

"I can, yes." MetalKoromon nodded his form at Zo. "Just give me the word, acquaintance." It was fun that he could actually indeed translate Zo's Spanish. "I, unfortunately have no name aside from MetalKoromon. So, just call me that." Meanwhile, Naoko watched as Zo basically drew a computer moniter and keyboard and emulated diving through it. It seemed like her english was better than Naoko's own.

Which, in honesty, was a relief. "Yes. Like...uh. That." Naoko thought Zo's accent was...well. It stood out. It was unique. Sort of like hers but in a better way. Though...

They had another guest. One who was not as human as Naoko or Zo. MetalKoromon hopped off from Naoko's shoulder and gazed up at the gigantic (to him) Chromiamon. "Greetings. Lovely day, is it not." SHE SPOKE SPANISH. Well, the girl had someone to talk Spanish to now, so that was nice. "...Yes, we're new here." Naoko replied in English. "Who...what are you?"

As the strange rabbit with the crystal... and lack of legs? Did she have legs? Or was she floating? Zo couldn't tell, but she did welcome more company in the form of a Digimon. After all, Digimon could understand her- so why wouldn't she want more of them around. As the Digimon spoke, Zo's face turned red at the comment of her and the other girl being precious. Softly, she'd nod her head. ”Si, puedo entender todos los monstruos digitales fácilmente, pero tengo un tiempo duro con sus parejas,” she explained. Rubbing the back of her head, Zo's smile weakened. ”Es obvio que soy nuevo?”

[Angeli]

"Oh, that's good then! So I can speak however, and you two can understand me? Perfect!" Angeli would smile, humming melodiously as she nodded cheerfully. How awfully convenient! That would at least make any conversation she may have for the girls all the more easy. "Allow me to introduce myself... My name is Angeli, a Chromiamon, Beast Man Digimon. And as to what I do, that does not concern young, bright woman like you two. I just hope that perhaps I can at least offer assistance if need be." She'd say, bowing courteously to the girls. Both girls seemed to at least knew how to mind their manners, a thought that delighted Angeli. Knowing when to be casual or not was a very useful skill that some individuals never seem to bother learning. It did seem that between the two humans, there a bit of a language gap... lucky for them they at least had two Digimon by them right now. "You two girls must be from different sides of the globe hmm? It is a shame that you humans have such a barrier like language keeping you all apart... " 

Angeli tilted her head slightly at the spectacle-wearing red-head's apparent confusion to her statement. "Yes, you two look new. I overheard a little of your conversation. These floppy things on my head are not just for show you know." She'd say, playfully tugging one of her rabbit-like ears to get the point across. "There's also the fact that neither you have even a Rookie level partner. Gracious, it seems that one of you only has a Digitama. Unless either of you had their partner recently killed and regenerated, it's a safe assumption." She'd say, placing a hand on the MetalKoromon, gently petting it's metallic body. 

"So... what do you two think of our world? Quite strange and foreign hmm? I suppose I would think the same for your humble world... After all, I'd love to perhaps one day see something like the Smithsonian... or perhaps the Eiffel Tower!" She'd speak a bit more, for a moment becoming entranced by visions of monuments and sites that frankly, she would only ever see through media. "Oh to have a day to see the wonders of your world." She giggled slightly at the thought. Maybe one day. 

[Bass...?]

"Both of us are capable of translation. I'll be willing to relay your words to Naoko in Japanese so she can understand it until she decides to...Well. I guess she'll want to learn some form of Spanish to at least attempt making communication easier on you both. As another note...Yes, it is indeed obvious...You and Naoko are both quite new. Like machines fresh from the assembly line." MetalKoromon certainly proved to be a talkative baby, that's for sure.

He did however silence himself for Angeli. It would be rude to interrupt a clearly refined and sophisticated sort of Digi...Yeah, right. She seemed sketchy with the amount of synonyms used to refer to the fleshlings. "...Yes, it's quite frustrating to meet someone new and not be able to talk with them..." Naoko said, in her native and more familiar Japanese. MetalKoromon made sure to quickly translate for Zo. "I'll be able to evolve soon, no worries required, Angeli." MetalKoromon replied, seemingly content at the petting.

"The...world is sprawling. It's large and while I feel as though I'm in a completely alien place, it's...exciting to explore. To learn about."
