[nospaces] [attr="class","biggieno"]  [attr="class","textieno"]Adelaide found herself in another city, this one much different than the gray scale and monochrome of Terabyte. While this one still held all the characteristics of a bit city including large buildings and bustling traffic--tamers and digimon alike--this one was bordered by the sparkling ocean, which Addi couldn't help but feel a tug of homesickness for Los Angeles. [break][break]
Her partner's tail flicked back and forth, antsy as always. Addi's azure gaze traveled down, smiling softly at the BlackGatomon. "Do you want to go for a swim, Patch?" she asked teasingly. The rookie bared his fangs, but not in a menacing way before sticking out his tongue. His amber gaze continued to travel around, taking in the new scenery. They had been partner's just a handful of days and Addi was still feeling the adjustment period, but was glad to have Patch. It was like having an old friend, but one that you hadn't seen so long you could hardly recognize them.[break][break]
The tamer-digimon pair continued on their way. Addi had gathered that her next move should probably be finding more tamers. She had encountered a few and they had all been different types of people. She had been pointed in the direction of a huge tournament taking place, so she had turned her gaze towards the city besides the ocean. The travel had not been bad. Patch had occasionally pointed out various scenery and they were there in just a few hours. Addi wasn't really willing to tell the cat-like rookie that her feet were pounding.[break][break]
Despite the lovely scenery, Addi could still feel tell-tale signs of anxiety, the blood rushing in her ears, her once steady heartbeat switening. She sighed before glancing down at her partner. "I guess we should try to head towards that arena..." [break][break]
Patch flashed a smile, all too Chesire-like, but she knew he had good intentions. "I'll protect you Addi," he promised. She leaned down to pet between his ears and was rewarded with a resounding purr. So they took off through the city. Obviously a lot of tamers had had the same idea and were observing the different matches with their own partners. Addi glanced around as Patch sniffed the air, the ever vigilant one that he was. Maybe they would learn something or get a few tips on how to proceed with their adventure in the Digital World. The city was just as lively as one might had suspected, in the end it was not often that an event of such a grandiose scale was being hosted. People from all over the Digital World had gathered to undergo a detailed screening test to see who was going to provide the most interesting competition for the crowd to enjoy, and one could also argue that the rumors of one of the Seven hosting the tournament had brought forth people from all walks of life, and all sorts of purposes and intentions in the hope of getting their chance to end up victorious in the tournament.
She was no different, having her own purpose and reason for attending to this event, and while she was wandering amidst the streets of the city, the dark cloak covering most of her body aside from her head. Perhaps it would have looked misplaced in a city so close to the beach, but she had some reason behind the attire, and of course like usually Kuro had been accompanying her. In the end they still had several hours before the tournament would begin, and so she had been trying to distract herself from the excitement that was building up within her, and a distraction was soon found when she spotted a familiar girl further ahead. The girl couldn't help but find her lips curve up slightly into the faintest hints of a mischievous grin.
She remembered the girl, in the end it was not easy to forget the meeting involving a girl who dropped right out of the sky, and if she recalled right this person was still fairly new when it came to the Digital World. Her steps soundlessly brought her closer to the girl, when the moment Addi stopped to glance around, Reikiko took her chance by leaning over the girl's shoulder and whisper teasingly into her ear.
"Peek a boo~"
Expecting a rather amusing reaction from the girl Reikiko leaned back upright and smiled briefly as Kuro stepped beside her, looking at the girl and her partner.
"That's weird, I never seen a Blackgatomon that is so young Aneki!"
The little raptor seemed to had voiced his curiosity about the fact a Blackgatomon had been at the girl's side, and he genuinely doubted it was a Champion, a Blackgatomon was usually way more impressive, rather than adorable like this little feline was according to Reikiko's thoughts.
"Did your partner evolve early? That's amazing~ Congratulations Addi."
Her words were cheerful and friendly, a tone that would have often been used when someone was addressing their friend, but she did remember the little secret she revealed to the girl the last time they met.
"A cute kitty for a cute girl, a perfect combination if you ask me."
In response to those words Kuro titled his head to the side in confusion, asking with a hint of excitement.
"Does that make us also a perfect combination Aneki?"
In response to that question the girl chuckled softly, a subtle smile lingering upon her lips as Kuro seemingly realized the answer to his own question: They were the perfect combination because beneath their cheerful and silly demeanor they were both ruthless warriors.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]Addi and Patch made their way through the city streets, glancing in various windows and street cars that littered the sidewalks. The whole atmosphere of sand and sea meeting really tugged at Addi's heart, making her think of times she had went to the beach with her family or even on a school field trip. [break][break]
Addi glanced over at her partner, who's tail was flicking with interest. "See something you like?" she asked, putting a hand absentmindedly on her partner's head. Patch flashed a tiny grin before leaning into his tamer's touch, much like a cat butting his head affectionately. "Nope, just lots of shiny things." Addi laughed at this, her tiny shoulders shaking with amusement. She scratched lovingly between his ears before dropping her hand, her small back tensing as air tickled the back of her neck and ear. [break][break]
The young teen gasped and whirled around, azure orbs wide. She blinked then visibly relaxed, a hand going up to rub the back of her neck uneasily. "Reikiko," she breathed out before smiling shyly at the other girl. What a coincidence! It had been a day or so, right? Well, the raven-haired teen wasn't too sure, but it was nice to see a familiar face nonetheless. [break][break]
Addi glanced down at her partner, who was eyeing Reikiko's own partner, amber orbs wide. "Oh, yeah! This is Patch! The last time you saw him, he was a Botamon," she said, correctly recalling the name of his Fresh level. Patch offered a nonchalant wave over to Reikiko and Kuro, but his tail flickered from side to side, showing his obvious interest in the dark raptor by her side. Addi visibly flushed when Reikiko commented that they were both cute before glancing down at her beat-up converse and mumbling, "Uhm, well you and Kuro are both cute too." [break][break]
Leaning down again to pet Patch between the ears, she explained, "Patch, this is Reikiko and Kuro. They helped me find your egg. I don't know if you remember that though." The Rookie level just shrugged.
"Thank you for assisting my partner," he said, flourishing a bow. "Much obliged." Addi blinked, a dusting of pink on her cheeks at her partner's erratic behavior, but she smiled nonetheless and straightened up to talk to Reikiko. [break][break]
"It's nice to see you again. "I, uhm, are you here to watch the tournament too?" she asked, a small smile gracing her pale lips.

"Mai~ Mai, what a well-mannered partner, he truly is adorable."
Happily clapping her hands together as she spoke in a cheerful and endearing tone she looked a bit closer as the Blackgatomon bowed softly, making Reikiko smile for a moment. He really was an adorable little fella, to the point even she felt inclined to pick him up and squeeze him into a snuggle. Nevertheless, she endured and instead turned her focus back onto the girl.
"Spectating the tournament? Sort of, albeit I'm an actual participant in the event."
That's right, she did mention to Addi before that she planned to participate in the tournament during their last meeting, and it appeared Kuro was as confident as ever, a smug grin on his lips as he pointed a clawed thump at himself.
"Me and Aneki are gonna win for sure!"
She loved the confidence of her partner, albeit unlike him Reikiko was more realistic, realizing that there might had been plenty of different tamers and Digimon to challenge, so it would become one of the hardest trials they had ever endured. In the end all she did at his words was smile while stepping beside Addi, nodding her head toward the direction she had been walking at earlier.
"The arena is that way, right now the crowds have yet to properly gather so it's a good time to explore, albeit once the tournament begins you can expect this place to be swarmed by people and Digimon alike."
It was a friendly warning, yet for a moment Kuro looked at Reikiko's back, silently pondering about something. Was this really okay? What would people like Addi, Yana or Adam say if they learned of his Aneki's secret? Would they reject her, or maybe even despise her? Or would the girl no longer care at that point?
"So~ Shall I have the honor of escorting the fair maiden to the arena? There is a small tavern near the building in case you two are hungry."
She smiled briefly as she invited Addi along, the Blackagumon quietly stepping beside his tamer, his thoughts still lingering on the earlier thought.

"Yeah, he sure is something," she said, before patting him between the ears affectionately. She had come to notice this was his favorite place to be petted. [break][break]
Addi's lips formed a small O as Reikiko explained that she would be participating. She smiled softly as Kuro exclaimed that they were going to win. She leaned forward a little to make good eye contact and smiled even more. "I'm sure you guys will do great, Kuro. Especially after saving me," she laughed. She straightened up and turned her gaze back to Reikiko. [break][break]
The other girl went on to explain that the area would be very crowded once the tournament started and offered to explore with him. "Uh, sure that would be great," she said, her eyes diverting momentarily to her partner, as if looking for confirmation.[break][break]
Patch just shrugged and glanced over at Kuro. "So, you're fighting, huh? That'll be interesting to watch." [break][break]
Addi laughed softly at the term "fair maiden" before scratching her head again. "Uh, sure let's go." Patch loped forward before settling into a comfortable pace with his tamer and the other two. He sniffed the air before his sharp amber gaze settled on the BlackAgumon, but he quickly diverted his gaze to the surrounding areas. [break][break]
Addi glanced around, taking in the beautiful coast line and the various shops. "I guess you're getting excited about the tournament, huh? I mean...you guys are so strong," she clambered for something to say. "We kind of came out here to see what it looks like when Digimon fight....Uh, we don't have that much experience, I guess you could say." [break][break]
Patch's tail flicked in annoyance. "Say so yourself. My past lives had plenty of fighting and I think you're forgetting about the forest." [break][break]
Addi blsuhed lightly before frowning. "Sorry Patch, I know. You did really good back there."

"I guess excited is one way to describe it... Although I'm curious about who will be participating in this event I do have a different reason for wanting to win."
Reikiko's tone was still soft and friendly as she recalled her reason for entering the tournament. In the end this would get her a step closer to her ambitions, a bit close to that chance of obtaining the answers she desired. However, she didn't really wish to bother little Addi with all those things. Instead she focused on the ongoing conversation between 'Patch' and the girl, chuckling softly as the little BlackGatomon spoke about his prowess in battling during his former lives. Perhaps it was time to play the role of the wise yet gentle senpai once more?
"Well, it's understandable why you think like that Addi, in the end battles are often quite intense. Want to know a little secret?"
She paused for a moment as she looked at Kuro and continued with a smile.
"Digimon often grow stronger and more confident the closer your bond with them is. Emotions often provoke a really mysterious ability within them: the gift to push themselves beyond their limits. They are quite a lot like humans on that aspect. That is why, when your Digimon has a strong bond with you he grows stronger also, but their true potential is summoned only after they obtained a certain something."
It was a rather simple thing to guess, but she still decided to explain it to Addi, her eyes softening a bit in their gaze as she explained the secret weapon a Digimon needed to grow truly powerful.
"That secret weapon is known as: A reason. When Digimon find a reason to fight, they will learn to truly go beyond their limits and fight at their strongest."
Even Kuro, despite being a dark Digimon had a reason to fight, and it certainly made him way more motivated and determined compared to normally.
"Most who will enter this tournament have their own reasons, so it will become quite an intensive tournament. Albeit, the conflicts will be quite serious, and might even become terrifying so don't feel ashamed if you get scared. A lot of people feel really restless when they have their first serious battle. In the end a true duel isn't just a game, it's a matter of pride, a clash between reasons, and the victor takes it all. That is why people are often terrified of fighting."
Her smile finally turned to a more neutral look as she pointed at the large building before them, the large arena towering above them.
"We're here~ You two like to take a look inside, or perhaps you'd like to get something to drink or eat first? I still got a while before I need to go back."

"Oh, I mean, I'm sure you have a good reason to win," she said, offering the other girl a sincere smile. Addi would then focus completely on Reikiko as she offered the dark-haired girl a bit of advice. Addi bit her lip as she listened, glancing down at her small partner. They had had one battle so far...in the forest where Patch had digivolved into his current form, his rookie form. [break][break]
Addi's azure gaze flicked up to Reikiko's. "A reason?" she asked. Did Patch have a certain reason? He seemed to like battling a lot and they have even quarreled lightly about the subject on the way here. After the fight with the Floramon in the forest she had objected to him completely about fighting anymore, especially when she had seen him absorb the flower digimon's data. "I don't know about a reason to fight..." she said, diverting her gaze out of to the ocean, her eyes hardening slightly. While the teen had actually ventured to this city to learn more about Digimon-related combat, she still felt at war with actually fighting, or rather, letting Patch fight. It still made her blood run cold at the thought of him destroying another life form, even if they were data.[break][break]
Patch watched his tamer with molten, golden orbs, narrowed slightly on the two humans as they talked. With a snort, he just rolled his eyes. The girl didn't understand that he needed to fight. He would protect her at all costs. That was his job as her partner, but still he needed to figure some stuff out and he needed her strength. Not that he would actually tell her all that, but as prideful as he way, but he needed the young teen and that digivice she had. He shook his head, clearing his thoughts. What was he thinking? Addi was his friend. Of course he would protect her, he wanted to.[break][break]
Addi glanced down at the BlackGatomon, but he seemed to be distracted by something off in the distance. Maybe more shiny objects? The raven-haired tamer turned to Reikiko as she talked more about the upcoming tournament. Addi winced as Reikiko admitted that there might be some scary moments. Addi just nodded. "Yeah, I guess it will definitely be something to watch," she said dismissively. Addi's gaze came back up to make contact with Reikiko's rather unsettling bi-colored gaze, but Addi couldn't help but think both colors were pretty. "Uhm, well I guess we're okay with really anything. What do you think Patch?"[break][break]
The BlackGatomon looked back up at his tamer, golden eyes intense. "Huh? Oh yeah, I'm good with food," he said, obviously distracted from his own thoughts being broken into. Addi shrugged before looking back at Reikiko and Kuro.[break][break]
"I guess food, if that's okay with you guys."
