Not Quite Just Another Day... [Private]

[brennan]

With a flash of light, Brennan was suddenly transported into a computer, and before he knew what was happening, he found himself in a thick forest. "Where am I?" He asked in a rather monotone voice, he was weird, but he wasn't going to lose his cool. He stood up and yawned, looking around leisurely. It looked to be a normal forest, but it was rather thick and maze-like, unlike any forest Brennan had ever found himself in. "Interesting..." He said, "It looks to be just a normal forest... but did I not just get sucked inside of a computer?"  He shrugged, maybe he was just going crazy. Regardless of the situation, he decided he would explore a bit. Some after he started to walk, Brennan found a purple egg with a strange white pattern on the top of it. "An egg." He noted, stating the blatantly obvious, "Interesting." He picked up the egg, feeling compelled to do so for some reason. With the egg in his hands and the orange device hooked to his pants, Brennan kept walking, looking for a way out. He walked around the forest aimlessly, staring at the trees, and he eventually realized he was going around in circles. "Well I'll be damned..." He muttered, annoyed. Suddenly, as he tried to figure out a way to walk with going in a circle, he noticed the egg beginning to hatch, glows coming from the cracks.

[brennan]

Brennan stared at the egg, blinking, "It's... hatching." He noted to himself, staring at the egg, wondering what would come out of it. "This clearly isn't Tokyo... so what's going come out of this egg? Am I going to get a normal animal, or am I going to get some bizarre thing I've never even heard of?" He asked himself as pieces of the egg began to crack off and fall to the ground. Soon, larger pieces of the purple egg began to fall to the ground and the glowing subsided, revealing a purple and white... blob thing with... ears? "How interesting..." Brennan noted as the blob's ears twitched, and the orange device hooked to his belt began to glow.

[brennan]

"What're you doing, calling me interesting?!" The blob muttered, and Brennan almost dropped it in surprise.

"Holy crap, it can talk!" Brennan yelped, certainly not expecting this.

"Of course I can talk!" The thing yelled, "What did you expect? I'm not a rock, so of course I can talk!" It chirped, and Brennan raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"Tell me," He said, "What's your name, little... blob thing?"

"The name is Dodomon!" It said, "What's your name... Grumpymon?" It asked, referring to Brennan's gruff voice.

"No... my name is Brennan, and you make it seem like everyone's name here ends in 'mon', so I think I'm gonna call you Dora." He said, not even asking the Digimon's opinion on this.

"Dora... I like it!" The Dodomon, now dubbed Dora, chirped enthusiastically, smiling toothlessly. Brennan stroked its fur lightly and smiled, he certainly liked this Digimon very much.

[brennan]

"That's good." Brennan said, "I was not going to let you pick out another name anyway, my little Dora." He finished, an edge of arrogance in his voice. Dora snorted, and then giggled, but the moment did not last too long, because suddenly a Kapurimon with crimson red eyes jumped out of nowhere, hissing. "What the hell?!" Brennan yelled, and Dora whimpered, jumping out of Brennan's hands.

"I'll protect you!" Dora yelled, and suddenly, the Dodomon began to glow along with Brennan's Digivice, suddenly transforming into a Dorimon, basically a Dodomon with hardened ears and feet. "Dodomon digivolve to-- Dorimon!" Dora yelled as this happened, dashing towards Kapurimon angrily, "You mess with my friend, you mess with me!!!"

[brennan]

Dora smashed his ears into Kapurimon, and the armored Digimon flew into the air. As Kapurimon started coming back down, Dora jumped up and headbutted Kapurimon's underbelly. The Digimon yelped, and suddenly, it reverted back to an egg, plopping onto the floor. Dora smiled happily and suddenly shifted back into a Dodomon. "Well that settles that." Dora chirped, hopping back into Brennan's hands.

"Wow... that was cool." Brennan said happily, before looking down at Dora. "So... what exactly was that?"

Dora let out a grunt, "Well, since I was just born like 5 minutes ago... I'm not too sure myself, but I think it's a thing called Digivolution, and we can do stronger versions as our bond grows stronger." Brennan nodded at this and petted Dora, resulting in a purr from the purple blob thing.

[brennan]

Brennan nodded once again as the purple blob named Dora purred. This was all extremely interesting... but he was also extremely confused, something that was not very common for him, in fact, the very fact that he was confused confused him even more! This was an absolute disaster... Oh well, Brennan might as well look around and see what he would be able to learn from this whole thing. "So tell me, Dora... Do you know anything about this place...? I mean, I know you were just born and all, but do you have any, you know, background information about this place?" Brennan hoped the newborn purple blob had some information... after all, he had been able to transform into a slightly larger purple blob just like that, so perhaps he did know something.

[brennan]

"Sorry, my friend, but I am afraid that I do not know anything about this place... well, I guess I do know a little bit. Really, all I know is that this place is called the Digital World... and that I am a thing called a Digimon, and that there's a whole bunch of different kinds of Digimon... some of them are really, really nice, but some of them are really mean... and go around to kill Digimon, and whatever you are's, I guess..." Interesting... very interesting... the Digital World. Was this some sort of world... inside Brennan's computer, or perhaps the entire internet? Brennan needed to know more...

[brennan]

"Wait... but... Dora... is this place, the Digital World, as you call it, is it only inside my computer... or is it some sort of internet thingie? I am really, really confused..." Brennan looked at Dora expectantly, hoping for some sort of concrete answer.

"Computer...? Internet...? What are all of those thingies? I've never heard any of those words before in my life! Even though I am only a few minutes old..." Brennan cursed under his breath, so Dora only knew slightly more than he did... that made things really, really complicated. He knew he would find out eventually, though... after all, Brennan was absolutely amazing, he knew practically everything.

[brennan]

"Alright... a computer is a device that lets you use the internet, and the internet is basically a huge database full of a whole bunch of information." Brennan said, trying to use the simplest terms he possibly could.

Dora nodded slowly, "I see... I see, that fact remains, to me, the Digital World is the only world, I have no idea if it is inside one of these 'computers' that you speak of." Brennan nodded slowly, annoyed, not at Dora, but at the Digital World in general, why did this place have to be so damn confusing?! Brennan absolutely despised being confused!

[brennan]

Brennan paced around, the blob in his hands, thinking furiously. How was he going to do this...? How was he going to get back home...?! Then it hit him, why go back home so soon? What harm would it do anyone if he stayed here... just a little bit more? After all, it's not like he was dead or anything, and he did not even know how time flow words in this here Digital World. So it was decided, Brennan would stay in the Digital World some more, y'know, exploring, bonding with is new friend Dora... It would prbably be rather fun.

[brennan]

"Dora, I have decided. I am going to be spending a while in this so called Digital World with you, and we will explore, since we are basically equally clueless." He was clearly not asking this, it was an ultimatum.

"Alright... It is going be so fun exploring together! We are gonna see new things, I'm gonna Digivolve even stronger, it's gonna be absolutely, positively, amazing!!!" Brennan chuckled at the Digimon's enthusiasm, then realized that it said, 'I'm going to digivolve even stronger!'. Brennan had assumed the slightly bigger purple blob was the last form Dora could obtain... would it just keep transforming into big purple blobs?

[brennan]

"Wait... you said something about Digivolving... again? You mean you can do more than turn into that slightly bigger purple blob with legs and sharp ears? That is rather intriguing, I must say..." Brennan nodded to himself, and Dora the purble blob Dodomon began to talk.

"Well duh, of course I can Digivolve more, in fact, eventually, I should be able to get a super amazingly strong form!" That was a very good thing to know, if his own Digimon could gain a super strong form, perhaps other Digimon could as well... which meant bad news for Brennan and Dora.

[brennan]

"These... super powerful Digimon... just how powerful is super powerful? Am I to be worried, or can we just run away, if need be? I feel like I already know the answer, but I suppose it never hurts to ask a question..." Dora made the silliest face it could make with it's limited facial features before talking.

"Well of course we can't take them at this level, but eventually, we will be powerful enough to defeat them all! It will be super, duper, ultra, mega awesome! Yay, yay, yay, yay, yay!" Dora chirped happily, wriggling around as though it were dancing.

[brennan]

Brennan smiled, then began to crack up, even though he was not normally much of a laugher. Dora's silly face was just too much for him to handle, and he was not even sure why... Normally, his sense of humor was abundantly dry and sarcastic, but Dora was a very nice Digimon, he was able to make Brennan laugh, just like that, even when he did mot normally feel inclined to laugh. Go figure, relationships are just weird like that, sometimes. Soon, Dora joined in with Brennan, and Brennan collapsed onto the floor. They were just a bundle of laughs, unable to stop. Brennan was laughing so hard it hurt his stomach, and he was crying.

[brennan]

"Oh my god!" Brennan cried, practically unable to breath, "Why are you so damn hilarious, Dora? Like, seriously, normally I will not laugh at anything except for a really good political joke!"

The Dodomon soon regained his composure, "I am not sure why I am so funny, Brennan. Remember? I was just born... how am I supposed to know?!" Brennan nodded, Dora had a fairly good point, Brennan didn't know why his parents laughed at the faces he made when he was a baby. And he actually remember specific moments in which this had happened, after all, he had an eidetic memory.
