DUNGEONS
Here on Digimon: Exodus, we understand that, whilst we try to churn out as many plot events and other such missions for you to take part in as we can; sometimes it's not that simple: we can't bring in a new one everyday, and we understand that some of the big-name official site events may suit some members other than others.
For this reason, we have implemented the Dungeon System, the sister system to the Missions System. Dungeons are quite a bit different from missions in design and functionality, and typically take a longer period of time to complete when compared to missions or even miniboss-style plot events.
If you want to describe Dungeons as bare-bones as possible, they could be described as a map-styled Mission that are exclusively created by staff. Dungeons are presented as a set number of rooms that your character is expected to trek through, with each room lasting a single post (unless it is a boss encounter room, in which they typically last two-three). In these rooms, players will encounter a number of things, from random item drops, complex puzzles, to deadly traps, and finally, random Digimon encounters. Dungeons are typically ended with an epic-level boss fight, some which rival those of miniboss fights.
Dungeons are always staff-created and cannot be created by members. They will be released as the time sees it, or basically, whenever we come up with new ideas. Please do not bombard the staff team with dungeon ideas - as they are always created by staff.
Typically, a dungeon will have a set number of players who can sign up for it, and a level restriction depending on the nature of the dungeon. Rewards are usually much higher than a user-created Mission would allow, and are rewarded at the conclusion of the dungeon.
Signing up for a Dungeon is quite simple - in fact, it is identical to signing up for a mission outside of a couple key details.
- First off, if one is attempting a Dungeon with multiple people, they must create a party. One member of the group is to be elected the Party Leader, and this player will be the one to post in the dungeon sign-up, tagging all those in his or her party. Teams and Organizations are strongly encouraged to take Dungeons together!
- Second off, it is important to take notice if the Dungeon is active or not. While most Dungeons outside of Event Dungeons never expire, only one party can do them at a time. So basically, if somebody else is currently doing the Dungeon; you have to wait until they complete it.
- Third, if a Dungeon goes without a new post for two weeks, it will be marked inactive and the dungeon will be up for others to attempt.
- Fourth, and finally, Dungeon posting is done "miniboss style." A game master or moderator will post up the dungeon thread, and then each member of the party posts before the staff member controlling the dungeon advances the room and rolls the event.
- Fifth, your character can only be in one dungeon at a time. This is to prevent someone taking all the dungeon spots and preventing others from joining in.
- Sixth, all dungeons require a minimum of two people to sign up, though they are balanced to a full party. If you have less than 3, you may find them to be quite difficult.
