Salamon Delusional: Yes Confidence: 100% | Attacks Used: N/A |
Detective Salamon was on yet another case.
Her usual client, a pink-haired and gorgeous lady, had tasked her with the objective of locating some buried treasure. What kind it was, the Digimon wasn't sure.
All the dog knew, was that it was here in the Savannah, and she had to find it before sundown.
Even here in the open fields surrounding Terabyte City, it was never safe for a pup like her to travel alone.
Sure she had the skills and the experience to defend herself, but she wasn't no super Digimon.
She had limits just like any other. She just knew how to put it to use, unlike some other Digimon.
In truth however, she was here because her D-Tector started acting weird when she left the city, to meet up with this Shady Digimon trying to sell her it's wares.
And by weird, she meant the thing started to beep, then show her some kind of blue arrow that led here.
It wanted her to find something, but she wasn't going to do it as a human. That would be ridiculous.
What would a human be doing digging around the savannah in the Digital World? That sort of thing would just attract attention, like when that Shady Digimon had attacked her for not buying, and she had to detain it.
As a member of DATS, Digimon were already careful when witnessing an arrest like she had made.
Parading out as a human finding whatever her device wanted her to find, would have just attracted attention.
And besides, she wasn't alone in this decision. The spirit that resided within her, had encouraged she do it this way. Something about the two of them bonding more.
The lectures it gave wasn't exactly interesting. If it had wanted her attention, then it should have lied and told her she was going to discover a deity mask or something. Now that would have been exciting.
It actually talking to her being a rare thing, didn't really matter to her.
She could come up with her own dialogue, and in her head, the spirit was the boss of her persona that didn't believe she could actually accomplish something.
That was how it always had been since they had met a few months back. And it didn't look like that was going to change anytime soon.
She walked through the savannah the way you would expect a detective to walk, looking around at her surroundings, as if there was going to be some kind of evidence behind leading her to the treasure.
A couple of sniffs were even given at the air, but the frown on the dog's face had said it all.
She was disappointed.
There were no signs of any digging having been done, which meant that no one else was searching for this thing. She would have an easier time if there was.
And the Digimon around here, citizens of Terabyte City, or mere travelers, were just giving her strange looks.
Well forget them. She knew exactly what she was doing, and didn't need any help with solving a case.
Seeing as how there were no leads to follow however, she started to just dig around the ground below her.
It wasn't difficult, honestly. Dogs dug holes all the time in the real world. That was what the Salamon knew.
But it was a strange sight here in the Digital World. Would anyone actually stop her though?
She looked around. Nope. No one looked like they were headed towards her. Didn't they care?
Or are they just assuming she has the authority to do this? No, now was not the time to worry about that.
She had until sundown to dig around, and the hole she had just made was good enough for her to move on.
So she continued digging around for awhile, increasing the feet she would dig the holes, little by little.
By the time her paws had gotten sore, she had stopped. Taking a look at the small trenches, she decided that was enough. Assuming no one else was around, she would go back to her human form and use her device.
"Hey!"
She turned around to see the shady Digimon she had met back in the city, or according to what her D-Tector had said earlier, was actually an Impmon.
It looked less beat up than it had been before, which only meant that it had recently absorbed data.
"You! I thought I detained you."
"Well I woke up. And came to find you."
Was it going to attack her? Because she was ready to defeat it again, like back when they were in the city.
"No, stop! I didn't come here to fight."
She had only took one step forward, before the other Digimon had flinched, putting it's hands over it's ears.
Aw, but this hunt had been so boring without any action. Oh well. As a detective, she couldn't really detain a citizen who wasn't serving as a threat.
"Then why did you come here? You're interfering with my work."
"Sorry. I came here to apologize. I shouldn't have attacked a potential customer like that."
"Is that all?"
"Y-yeah."
"Then move along, I'm busy here."
Sigh.
It was only after the other Digimon had ran away, did she turn back to the holes she had dug.
Some were deep enough for her human form to fit into, and seeing that there were still other Digimon around, who had witnessed her exchange with the Impmon, she had no choice but to hop in and change in there.
Her identity was supposed to be a secret, after all. And besides, it was almost time for her to go back home.
So she hopped into the trench she had made, and cancelled her spirit evolution, feeling a tugging sensation from within, as she changed back.
Nobody saw that right? She carefully peeked out from the trench, which considering her height, wasn't difficult actually fitting into. Nope, not really.
Good.
But her D-Tector was starting to beep again, with the screen back to showing the blue arrow.
She hopped out of the trench after dusting the dirt off herself, and followed the device to where it led her.
Maybe it was because of her own special intuition, but it had taken her to one of the holes she had dug.
And stepping around inside, it actually felt like there might be something under there as well.
She dug with her hands, glad that she had no need for fake nails, and eventually, she had found something.
It looked like, a cat totem?
"Meow."
She couldn't help balling one of her hands into a fist, and pawing at the air at seeing the relic.
It was only for a moment or so, before she picked the cute thing up with her free hand, only for something to suddenly happen. Her D-Tector had sucked it up inside.
"Meow?"
She poked at the screen, and even messed with each of the buttons to see if she could pop it back up.
She couldn't.
