BATTLE RULES
Battling here at Digimon: Exodus is very simple; we using an easy-to-understand stat system. Specifics on this system can be found here. Ultimately, while if all combatants opt out of using stats, we will allow a more freeform format for battles, but stat system takes priority.
Generally speaking, things like godmodding and powerplaying are absolutely forbidden. You are in control of your character and your character only; you cannot choose what the other player decides to do with theirs. Things like dodging every move, making all of your attacks auto-hit, attempting to counter a meteor with your fist, catching a missile, or anything without a doubt ridiculous are all counted as powerplaying.
Passive Abilities: Passive abilities are abilities that Digimon have without having to actively use. These are often resistances or feats like the ability to levitate or fly, but at times can be more complex or even abstract. Generally speaking, these should not be overwhelmingly powerful where it would give your Digimon an advantage in any given situation.
Each level is allowed a different number of passive abilities, though additional slots can be purchased.
Active Abilities: Active abilities are very simply put, attacks. These are the special attacks like Agumon's Pepper Breath that allow your Digimon to do battle. These abilities are allowed additional effects - but are expected to have equal drawbacks, such as a cooldown or limit. Be creative and ask a member of staff if you need help developing attacks!

Fresh: One attack.
In-Training: One attack.
Rookie: Three attacks.
Armor Champion/Champion: Four attacks.
Armor/DNA Ultimate/Ultimate: Five attacks.
DNA Mega/Mega: Six attacks.
DNA Super Mega/Super Mega: Seven attacks.
Data Assimilation: Data assimilation is a process that was introduced to Digimon in Season 3. A Digimon can do this by defeating an enemy Digimon (for the sake of the RP, you can only do this to PC Digimon with permission) and absorb their very essence, eliminating the absorbed Digimon from existence and making the absorber slightly more powerful. It has been noted that doing this repetitively is harmful to a Digimon's mental state, nor is it considered a noble act, so training in other fashions is often preferred.
It should also be noted that you do not benefit from absorbing the data of random self-controlled NPCs; they must be PCs who granting you permission to absorb their character's data or an NPC controlled by staff.
When a Digimon is successfully absorbed, the player whom accomplished this gets to pick one of the absorbed Digimon's attacks and add it to their own moveset; without having to purchase an extra move slot. Additionally, they will also gain a very small number of posts based on how well a staff member thinks the fight went.
Random Events: Random events are strange occurrences that can happen to your thread at any given time; even if it is closed. These events can either be negative or positive; it is entirely random and decided by a staff dice roll. When this happens to your thread, you can expect anything from an adorable Cutemon showing up to give you bits to a starving pack of Dobermon looking to ruin your day.
Death and Rebirth: Every area on Digimon: Exodus is death-enabled, meaning that your character can suffer lethal damage in any thread. However, do not be too alarmed - your characters will generally be safe during NPC events such as minibosses, and members will be unable to jump threads that are closed by you.
This has several consequences on them, such as altering their evolutionary lines and erasing some of their memories. Upon rebirth, a Digimon's line will never be the same as the immediate previous line, as they are forced to change at least one stage in their evolutionary line to a different Digimon than before. This stage has to be either the stage a Digimon died in, or any stage higher, or two levels lower. For example, if you die in Ultimate, you can change anything higher, or either Armor Ultimate, or Champion. If you decide to change an armor form, you cannot change the digimental unless you quest for it again. And if you change ultimate or higher, you need to do a quest for it again. DNA forms are not counted as part of this rule, and cannot be used as the changed form. Any forms you have not unlocked, or have not added to your profile yet, cannot be used as the changed form either.
Note: Any attacks/passives that you have absorbed transfer to your new form, unchanged. Any attack/passive slots that you have purchased also transfer over, but can be changed.
Additionally, hatching a new egg takes one thread's time to complete. When humans perish, there is no recovery. Human data is never reborn as anything else.
Other than these draw-backs, and the obvious mortality of humans, Digimon are essentially immortal beings that go through endless cycles of reincarnation. The only way this cycle can be broken is by absorbing the Digimon or erasing them, two techniques generally looked down upon in the Digital World - but still used due to their power.
Upon your death, should you have other threads open, you may finish them. However, once those threads are finished, you may not start a new thread until you've created a new character. If you wish to transfer your bits and posts to this new character, you may.
