Trouble In Paradise [Radiant Mission]

Name of Mission: Trouble in Paradise.
Client: Digitamamon.
Levels Needed: Rookie to Champion.
Requirements: Not having been fire before. No Mega digimon allowed due to their size, areas and enemy scaling.
Reward Offered: 300 bits and Card pack possibly two.
Plot Description: Digitamamon is a fairly well known and successful businessman. He has worked too hard an too long to let his business crumble. Recent reports show of an invasive Digimon known as Cardmon invading his small little Digi Island Resort and caused trouble for his guests. This won't do especially considering they pay 1000 bits a day to stay there. So Digitamamon is paying big bucks for up to 5 digimon tamers to come and handle this problem immediately.
Mission Description: Tamers are expected to clear out the cardmon, collect the card pack, their bits and get out.
Objective Summary: defeat the cardmon in each area along with their leaders. Then report back to digitama once they are cleared.

• 4 Cardmon are by the pool area annoying guests; clear them out an the boss will appear.
  
• 4 Cardmon are found in the vegetable garden giving vegimon a hard time; clear them out an the boss will appear.
  
• 4 Cardmon are at the beach in the trees throwing Coconuts and attacking guests; clear them out an the boss will appear.
  
  

• 4 Cardmon are hiding in the hotel in random guest rooms causing trouble;clear them out an the boss will appear.
  
  
• If all cardmon and their bosses are defeated a before a week after the mission begins, the single card pack becomes two.

1. This is kind of far too convoluted and complex, anyway, but the real problem is the reward. People could end up getting 500 Bits and a card pack worth 1500 Bits for defeating Rookie-level DIgimon IC? That can't really fly, dude, sorry.

The easiest way to do this would to be dropping the reward to 300 Bits and a Normal Card Pack. Don't get me wrong: I like the idea of Cardmon conversion, I think it's a cool idea but rewards and rolls is going to make this entire thing really convoluted; missions are supposed to be run by the players, for the players, and if the staff have to step in and do all this work generating packs and stuff it's gonna just get a little much is all.

Perhaps later we'll introduce Cardmon cores and conversions in miniboss events and we can liaise with you about how to do it, but for a mission I can't see it happening. Sorry, bro.

2. Additionally, no Limited Edition Digitamamon packs. We bring in the Lim Ed packs as we need to with plot, and we've still got a few more planned. But that said if you wanna help consult on them/you've got ideas, PM them to me and we'll try to incorporate them!

I apologize for the confusion. I know it would be a bit convoluted but my logic was if the admin had to roll for those converting they'd have to assign cards anyways so it seemed like a bit more work but with the % I set up it was really easy. However, I respect your decision. Although to be fair Cardmon were adjusted by the number of cards to be stronger to compensate for that fact they are just rookies; but I can understand your point.

I knocked the bits down to 300 like you said. Removed ultra rare and the limited edition. Leaving the cores in place as is with the adjusted % rate where an A core at best has a 20% chance for a rare. So technically we keep what you suggest to make it work and a nice twist for those lucky. This also required a shift in price towards the Card packs. I hope the revision is acceptable.

1. Nah. It's still far too many dice rolls which a staff member will have to mediate for something which is self-sufficient for its majority before staff mete out rewards at the end. A card pack is fine, but there's all kinds of dice rolls and it's just going to end up getting complex and confusing.

I can't approve this as is, not unless it's heavily simplified, dude. That's the bottom line. 300 Bits and a card pack would just make this easier. Maybe I can approve a GM coming in as a "legendary Cardmon" and then a roll then to determine a slightly rarer card pack, but for now, 300 Bits and a card pack.

I simplified it to just basic card packs. 20 cardmon. A max of 5 tamers and kept the very basic cores being valued at 50 bits a piece. Meaning if 5 people do this get all the cardmon + 5 extra spawned they will have earned 300 Bits and 250 Bits for their efforts the equivalent of a card pack; for those who sell their cores. For those who want basic packs but at that cost of working they can convert them for 150. Saving 500 bits over all the price of 2 free Packs; this can be adjusted to 200 conversion cost if it is an issue so at beast they only save 250 meaning a free car pack.

1. Alright dude. Let's get this through.

This is still complex. Missions are user-generated content with little to no staff involvement, and that's the basis of everything I'm gonna say from now on. What you've got here is closer to a full-blown site event.

Make this simple, make this modular: if you add more missions, increase the difficulty, add the modularity, but you need to start simple with this basis because otherwise staff are going to have to keep rolling the dice and picking this apart, and that's not the intention, because missions have to be simple.

No more of this conversion stuff cause we have to sort it all out and set up the Digitamamon store and it's time-consuming. Just make it a fixed reward, a pack, maybe a second pack if you delete X amount of Cardmon. But the more dice rolls and transactions and numbers get involved, the more complex this becomes. So start simple, with a mission that rewards a card pack and some cash, and we'll go from there, and we'll add more and more in a series of these kinds of missions, and eventually work our way up to redeemable core items.

Additionally, you can't deduct people's bits, so get rid of that paying-out-of-pocket stuff.

I removed all the unnecessary numbers kept it simple. Defeat all the cardmon get 300 bits + a card pack. But if you defeat them all before one week real life time you get two card packs and 300 bits.

Defeat, Collect Rewards, Go.
