| ❝ Were there cicadas in the Digital World? The Emerald Mangroove seemed as if they had a few hidden in those thick bushes and sturdy floras, though it might just be some digimon modeled after the singing insects. The sun was high up but its rays could barely touch the ground, only a few managed to peak through the small spaces of the jungle trees. The scent of nature strongly filled the air and while Astoria didn't seem to mind, Nox kept on wriggling his nose at the smell. He wasn't the one to appreciate the atmosphere the place had to offer.
Three shadows rested on the murky waters of the swamp; one for the human, one for the gazimon and one for the palmon that acted as the pair's tour guide. It only took a small effort; a sad story and a string of pretty words for the flower on the digimon's head to convince her to show them a peaceful place to rest. While the pair was on their way out the Emerald Groove, they decided to take a quick stop over to take a breather. Walking around an area with tree roots and whatnot springing randomly out the ground was not the easiest thing to do, especially if your shoes weren't made for a trip to the jungle.
"Do you really think that my flower looks better than of Floramon's?" The mandrake digimon asked, gently patting the tropical blossom on her head, a dreamy look plastered on her face.
"I wouldn't lie," Astoria replied, affectionately brushing her delicate fingers against palmon's large petals "It even smells much sweeter than my perfume," A brush crept across the plant digimon's face that made the human chuckle "Truly one of a kind,"
"I feel so happy!" the Palmon rejoiced, twirling around with her arms on her head.
"You should be," Her green optics darted to the murky water, watching their shadows as they moved. Her unassuming smile remained on her lips, her voice as mellow as a love song "You're lucky to have something so pretty on you," She closed her eyes gently, pausing for a while as she listened to the plant-digimon's jovial squealing "I'd kill for something like that." Her words had something in them, the word kill had an emphasis in it and Nox understood it quite well.
Everything suddenly fell silent as Nox began stepping closer to the other digimon, flashing his toothy grin at her. Confused, the Palmon paused and turned to Astoria, seemingly asking for an explanation behind the gazimon's actions but the young lady remained staring at the swamp, casually combing the locks of her hair with her slender fingers. Nox took the palmon's confusion to his advantage and swiftly attacked; clawing her face deeply, not once but twice which was followed by a piercing cry of desperation... then everything fell silent again. She was pretty but not strong, utterly useless in the gazimon's opinion.
A soft string of chuckle escaped Astoria's plump lips "Now, I have the sweetest scent again."

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | Katsuo was falling down from quite the height once again in his life and yelling from the top of his lung. But unlike last time, it wasn't because of being pulled into the Digital World by random. Rather, this time was kind of his own fault. Plus, he was in the form of an Aegiomon this time.
The young man had ended up being attacked by an Airdramon and was dragged into the skies. Of course fighting back at that moment was an only solution, but having not thought things through completely, Katsuo defeated the hostile Digimon airborne and ended up in the situation he was currently in.
Finally nearing the end of his fall, Katsuo fell down through branches and leaves, breaking them all and with a loud splash sank into a swamp.
The Aegiomon rose up to stand, thanked the sturdy body he had and also the branches and swamp that pretty much guaranteed his survival. Still, he did have quite the throbbing pain on his back.
"Now then... where the hell am I?" Katsuo asked out loud from himself, looking around the area, trying to recognize it. It seemed that he had fallen to Emerald Mangrove, but where exactly there. This might prove out to be quite the problem, if he wouldn't get to know that on which part of the area he is in.
Before he could start worrying even more, the Aegiomon spotted a woman and a Digimon close by. Two lucky strikes twice in a row? Katsuo felt a bit odd about this, but maybe even the unluckiest of guys get a break every once in a while.
"Hey!" He called out to the duo, waving his hand and began heading towards them, going across the swamp with a good pace. "You mind helping a guy out?" Katsuo asked in English, hoping that either of them could at least point out the exact location where they were.

| ❝ "Noxie, fetch me a flower,"
The gazimon was busy gazing lovingly at his claws, proud at his fast kill. He was improving, he could feel it and it brought him to a good mood... well, until someone asked for a flower. Shooting his head up to Astoria, he held a questioning look on his eyes. She wanted a flower? What the fuck for? The girl didn't seem to mind his obvious confusion, only flashing him a smile before turning back to the murky waters, fingers still tangled up in her locks as she combed it with care. He was going to ask, and maybe add in some stupid remarks, but before he could even open his mouth, a loud crash disturbed the silence.
Slightly angling her head up, Astoria stared at the distance and waited for something to come out but instead more noises came. A few snaps then a painful splash; the thing that fell awkwardly in the swamp wasn't that far from them. She didn't see what it was but she could say that it had a human body and something white for hair. But, it probably was best to take cautions as they were in one of the digital world's most dangerous territories. Calling out to Nox, the digimon immediately went on attack mode. One wrong move and whatever that would be attacking was going to face his claws, literally. He'd cut them exactly where he slashed the Palmon.
The thing did come out of the waters not sooner or later but it failed to meet the pair's expectation when he began to speak. With a hand waving over his head and a loud mouth, it got to them quite soon. Upon getting a closer look, Astoria realized that it was a digimon with the trihorn giving the answer away. She hadn't encountered a digimon that looked so much like a human boy though and so had to pull out her digivice and pointed it at his direction. The girl began reading the information, humming softly upon learning that he was an H-hybrid. A spirit user? She heard of them in the past but had yet to see one until now. Shifting her gaze up, she watched as he crossed the swamp asking for assistance.
"Of course," Astoria said, her words cladded in a slight German accent. She used to have it strong but living in America where speaking English was as crucial as breathing, the accent was somehow erased. She took small steps backwards however to give the Aegiomon space but, in truth, she just didn't want to be sorry later if this turned out to be a retaliation for the Palmon's death. She had to give space for Nox to attack too. While it was true that this digimon didn't look all that intimidating, Astoria had to make sure since it wasn't always what it seemed after all.
The gazimon had walked next to his partner and placed his hands akimbo, secretly thanking the distraction for saving him get a stupid flower. But who's this loser anyway? He hadn't seen a digimon like him before, not that he had already seen a lot of digimon though. He should probably had though but his memories were unfortunately faulty. The human-like digimon sure stood higher than him but he didn't look like he was that strong.
"What can I be of help?" A meek smile curled up on the girl's lips to reassure the spirit user. The assistance wouldn't be given for free but he didn't have to pay yet, Astoria would be collecting the charge when the right time came.
