Characters are the souls of those trapped in purgatory, each one gaining some sort of supernatural power as a consequence of entering this warped reality. Characters may or may not know they are dead, they may appear at a different age than that of which they died....the ‘lives’ that they live in this world are dictated by the regrets and attachments developed while alive. While living in the fictional town of Woodburn Falls, characters receive hints to their unfortunate demise, they are subject to any number of ‘Acts of God’ and supernatural happenings creeping around the town, and they are able to perish and respawn over and over again, further adding to their own confusion and mental turmoil.
