| ❝ The sun began to set on the horizon of the green pastures of the Vale Highlands, an area of endless fruitful plains and green hills. It was certainly the textbook example of a place to begin an adventure, and almost somewhat ironic that she was transported into the Digital World in such a place. She came here with a few others, a group that she had departed with about a week ago, though not before exchanging phone numbers, to adventure on her own for a bit. The plan was simple, they would each go in a different direction and meet up later on to get a grasp of their surroundings. The camp she was to attend would be proud of such scouting skills.
"Pretty devoid of activity out this way, except for that weird green asshole who tried to sell us some garbage." Harley paused, speaking to the bat-like Digimon that followed behind her - her partner. Her steps were getting slower as she went on, and she wondered how nice it must be to be able to fly. "It was literal fucking garbage. Like, banana peels. I might never get used to this weird world." The Demidevimon landed on her shoulder, responding to her with a smug and sarcastic tone; "Hey, lady, that was quality garbage! Can't you appreciate a used tissue? I mean, surely you can relate to i---" The rambling demon was met with a swift but soft punch to the face, causing his flight to waver a bit, but not for him to shut up, as planned, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, no need to get violent or anything, sheesh, are all humans this uptight?"
"I could really use some coffee - do they even have that here?" Harley asked her Digimon as if the previous scuffle had never happened, in which he happily responded. If this thing was going to talk twenty-four seven like a little annoying forest sprite, it had at least be spitting out some quality information or entertainment. "Coffee? Oh now you want coffee? Yeah, of course we have that, even I know that - we just have to go to the city, you know, it's a bit ways from here though, see." The girl took a moment to check her surroundings. The sun had almost set completely at this time, and there wouldn't be much light to travel on. There wasn't much around here. Hills, a few trees scattered here and there, and a long dirt path leading to who knows where. In the north, very faintly, she had thought she saw a skyline, but nothing could be for certain in this bizzaro world.
"It's not like we're doing anything else too productive. I'm sure we can reach the city or whatever before the night ends." With that bold statement, the pale girl turned towards what she thought was the distant skyline and began walking - fully expecting some sort of obscure obstacle to get in her way on the way there.
Nothing, nothing was ever easy anymore.

SHARP AS STEEL. STOP FOR NO MAN. YOU'D BETTER BEG AND KNEEL. He had traveling for hours now, having stopped only once or twice during his journey to eat. He was almost single mindedly focused on reaching Triton City before days end. He tucked the ends of his tanned cloak up against his nose as the wind picked up slightly, the tattered ends of the cloak flapping about. He hadn't seen much of the Digital World outside of the Dark Area since last year. Within that year he had found the Vale Highlands were one of the Digital World's more beautiful sights. Beauty was certainly something he didn't get a lot of growing up in the Dark Area, so he had learned to enjoy what beauty he could find out in the world. "You're mind is starting to become restless child." the raven haired teen let out a low sigh when the eerie voice of his spirit entered into his mind. He still wasn't use to it and he highly doubted he ever really would be. "It's what happens when you go hours without sleep." he spoke in response.
"It's more than that, you seem to forget you can't hide your true feelings from me. I think you're afraid of what you'll find once we meet your contact in Trition." Riku rolled his eyes and then moved a hand through his hair, "I think you're trying to make yourself out to be more wise than you actually are." something that the Spirit of Darkness often did. Still, Riku couldn't deny that the digital spirit had a point. He was afraid of what his contact in Trition was going to tell him about the last thing Samudramon was working on before he died. It had been bad, bad enough for those men to show up when he had claimed his spirit for the first time. 'Ohh someone is thinking about their past." yeah, Riku was definitely going to need to find a way to filter his thoughts from the spirit of darkness. He didn't need the damn thing backseat commenting on every little thing that popped into his head.
The youth's ears began to twitch slightly as he advanced further down his highland path. He could pick up on the sound of voices approaching him from behind, and while they didn't sound dangerous one could never be too sure. His impulse took over and his body turned itself around. In one flawless motion he pulled his sword from its location on his back and held it out in front of him. His ruby eyes glaring harshly towards the tamer and her partner that had made their way in front of him. It had only taken him seconds to recognize the Digimon, Demidevimon, they were tricksters of sorts. He had a couple of bad run ins with their kind during his time in the Dark Area. What exactly was it doing with a human though? Was she one of those tamers he had been hearing about lately? "I'd stop moving if I were you and start explaining why you're following me." | ❝ "Follow---oh." The girl spoke softly in a confused manner as her multi-colored eyes traveled from the boy with ruby eyes and had realized there was a blade being pointed directly at her face. Her Digimon was instantly put on the defensive, though, not exactly in the way a tamer would want their partner to react, "WOAH, back off, son, t-that thing is dangerous!" The tiny demon flocked off of Harley's shoulder and began flapping into the air, safety out of the blade's lethal reach.
It all had happened so fast - she hadn't even realized she was gaining up on somebody. The refinement and swiftness in the way this boy handled his blade was a sure indication that he was skilled, or at least practiced with it frequently. She was at the moment unarmed and thus unable to defend, even if she could probably attempt to disarm him given the circumstances. There was nothing to do but submit to his questions, or face harsh action. What a way to meet somebody.
"Don't be full of yourself, I didn't even realize I was following you." Against her better wit, the pale girl decided to gently poke the end of the blade, before retracting her finger upon accidentally pressing too hard upon it, "Are you alone?" She somewhat casually asked, noticing that this 'warrior' had no partner with him. Was he simply a human traveling this world - or one like Katsuro?
Or maybe, he was something else entirely. Just in case, her hand reached for her pocket, which contained both her Digivice and a stack of cards. She wasn't sure how either would help too much in this situation, but her knife certainly wouldn't have any edge on a full-out sword. This was entirely a gambit - hopefully her useless partner would actually do something for once, or maybe this swordsman wasn't as vicious as he seemed.

SHARP AS STEEL. STOP FOR NO MAN. YOU'D BETTER BEG AND KNEEL. It didn't take very long for the Demidevimon to show his true colors, backing away as it called out for him to lower the blade. "Your partner's a coward his eyes darted quickly towards the bat Digimon that floated off in the distance. Of course it could have always been planning something. You could never be too sure when it came to those batty bastards. Riku's eyes moved towards the girl as she reached a finger for the tip of his sword and spoke. He hadn't noticed at first but her eyes were mismatched, he had never come across such a thing before. Riku had to force back a small laugh when the girl pulled her finger back, clearly having underestimated the sharpness of his blade. He allowed himself to relax only slightly upon hearing her words. His weapon lowered itself to his side but regardless of his relaxed stance he was ready for anything.
"I live a dangerous lifestyle you can never been too sure." it was the only explanation he gave for his aggressive reaction to her presence. Riku placed a hand on his hip, eyes narrowing at her as she asked her question. Experience had taught him such questions usually came with a surprise attack after you answered. Going by just her appearance and what little words they had exchanged she didn't appear to be a bandit or raider. "Does it look like I'm traveling with anyone else?" he spoke rudely, "Does having different colored eyes affect your vision or something?" he inquired, it very well could have. "Speaking of your eyes how the hell did you end up with that? I know my eyes aren't exactly natural but you've got a whole new level of freaky going on." despite the rudeness of the question he was very serious about knowing. He had a few other questions he wanted to ask her but he figured it be best to wait until she answered his current one. PHARAOH LEAP. [googlefont=Montserrat]

| ❝ "You know it's rude to ask about stuff like that." Harley replied venomously, crossing her arms and looking up the dark-haired swordsman with her 'strangely' colored eyes. They always asked about them, but it wasn't like she could help it or anything - it wasn't weird! It was just a condition, there was nothing wrong with it. People didn't make fun of other people with conditions. Well, they did. But they shouldn't! "Like, I wasn't going to ask about your height, small-fry." She didn't have much room to talk, but he only seemed a few inches above her, which was really unnatural for a guy.
"If you must know, I have cancer." The pale girl said with a serious tone, looking down the ruby eyed boy with a grim and completely serious stare, even though this was clearly a rotten joke, "It's getting worse by the second." She uncrossed her arms to fix her hair and reach for her cigarettes, which she now realized were missing.
That was going to be a problem. At this point her partner took the opportunity to butt in, commenting on the remark made earlier that Harley had ignored, "A coward? A coward? Big talk for a filthy human like yourself, I ought to show you a thing or two right now, come on Harley, let's destroy this guy!"
"I'm not interested in that." The snow-haired girl replied to the panicking Demidevimon, whom was all geared up to attack the human in his rookie form. She wasn't sure what this guy had in store, and mostly just wanted to reach the fabled city on the horizon. Fighting random swordsmen in the plains wasn't on the agenda. "Come on, it won't take long at all, this guy's a total sucker!" She sternly turned her boot, looking Pagu in the eye. He was intent on fighting this guy over a single insult. That kind of tact wouldn't get them very far in this world, where pretty much everything they've encountered had turned out to have some sort of hidden trick or hidden form or hidden power.
It was never straight-forward.
"Ugh, fine, whatever. We should at least ask him first." The duo were talking as if the swordsman wasn't even there at this point, "Why ask him? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of."
"It's polite." The Tamer turned to the other kid, grimly stating a challenge that she didn't really want to do, "My Digimon, Pagu, would like to fight you. Do you accept his, and by extension, our, challenge?" It was so formal it was sarcastic, being completely out of character for the normally vulgar girl.
It was starting to get darker by the moment.

SHARP AS STEEL. STOP FOR NO MAN. YOU'D BETTER BEG AND KNEEL. "People tell me its rude to do a lot of things. I tend not to care." Riku brought his sword to his shoulder, lightly tapping the backend of weapon against it. Manners hadn't exactly been one of things that Samudramon and him had worked on. Even if they had Riku had always been a bit rough around the edges. Most five years were but Riku had always thought himself to be a bit more wild than most. She insulted his height as a crude attempt to get back at him and Riku merely rolled his eyes. "I'm fifteen plenty of room left to grow." he didn't need to tell her how poor her insult at had been, she knew. It didn't stop her from being right though, he was a little short for his age and gender. Then again none of his brother were exactly giants either. At least they weren't when he had seen them ten years ago. She said she had cancer, and the tone of her voice and the stare she was giving him implied she was deadly serious. Unfortunately for her Riku didn't exactly know what cancer was. He knew it was sickness but he had no idea how serious of a sickness it was. He gave a shrug of his shoulders and dropped his sword back down to his side. "Cancer doesn't exactly sound too bad. Though I've never heard of a disease that causes one of your eyes to change colors." maybe he needed to pay a visit to the human world? It certainly help him understand these new humans that are appearing in the Digital World better. Plus he was from there. Thoughts for another day. Right now he needed to deal with the Demidevimon that had rejoined the conversation. Filthy human huh? "Yes a coward. I believe it's what you call people who run away from danger. At least it's a more polite way of saying it, the other word that comes to mind is: bitch." he taunted. Riku glared at the Demidevimon when he suggested that he was capable of destroying him. Riku didn't take threats like that lightly so he drew his sword up once more, "That's a lot of talking coming from glorified henchman." Demidevimon were always a pain. Luckily or unluckily depending on how you looked at it, the digimon's partner had no interest in fighting. At least she wasn't at first but her partner eventually wore her down. Instead of just attacking however the girl asked politely if he wanted to duel her Digimon. "A chance to stress those muscles of yours huh? Should be so much fun for the both of us. It's getting dark too and that's our element. Go ahead and give them a taste of darkness." Riku hadn't asked for Dark Knightmon's opinion but he had gotten it. Didn't matter though because he had already decided that he was going to beat some courage into the Demidevimon. "There's nothing polite about a battle so why don't we dispense with the bullshit and get this started huh?" Riku jumped himself backwards and grinned. With one swift movement Riku tossed his sword up into the air with his full strength. His D-Tector was held out in front of him and a ring of dark code appeared around the palm of his left hand. He ran his hand across the top of the D-Tector and his entire body was encased in a sphere of black light and code. SPIRIT_EVOLUTION_ACTIVE Within the sphere Riku's own coding began to deconstruct itself and put itself back together in a different form. The sphere began to fade and as it did the new creature inside reach a gloved red hand towards the heavens. The tossed sword fell perfectly into its hand. Impmon gave a hellish grin as the sphere of dark light finally faded from existence. "Infernal Cannon." his free hand was pointed towards Demidevimon and it released a sphere of black flames towards him. He who strikes first, wins. PHARAOH LEAP. [googlefont=Montserrat]

@ Atticus Grimm | ❝ "Oh, I see, you clearly aren't from the real world. Well then..." Harley knew she wouldn't have too much time to speak, stepping back and letting Pagu take the wheel. Most of his strength came from her and her cards, and her and her Digivice; she was honestly interested in seeing what he could do on his own. If she had to step in, well, she would.
"Big talk coming from a naked ape like yourself!" The Demidevimon hissed at the swordsman's insult, but was then taken aback by him throwing forth his sword into the air. Disarming himself? No, this was something else - this was spirit evolution! Something that was confirmed only seconds later, the former human activating his Digivice to become a hybrid spirit Digimon - from the looks of it, a small imp. This was somewhat ironic, the tamer thought to herself, bringing a hand to cover the snicker that almost escaped her.
Her partner, however, had simply no tact with holding things in. The tiny bat burst out into laughter, mocking the creature instantly upon seeing it; "Oh, fuck, you're killing me! You're an Impmon?! Pfffffzehahaha! And you were talkin' to me about being the underling?" Harley smirked at her Digimon's remarks, but still remained silent. She would likely have to jump in, especially considering it seemed that this 'tamer' had done so already. Spirit users; ever so reckless.
"INFERNAL CANNON!" Were the only words Pagu heard next, being completely blindslided by the attack due to being too busy laughing. The flames knocked him back a little bit, forcing him to flap his wings rapidly to try to get the fire out, which was successful, if not incredibly painful. "Dirty no good...that hurt! A little." The bat swooped back, gaining a little distance on the Impmon, creating a small dart in his right talon. "DEMI DART!" The demon shouted, throwing forth the poisonous dart at a surprisingly elegant speed. If it were to hit, it would inject a sickening poison for some time, which was the goal.
Harley didn't act, crossing her arms to watch the battle unfold.

SHARP AS STEEL. STOP FOR NO MAN. YOU'D BETTER BEG AND KNEEL. Demidevimon had been spending so much time insulting Impmon that he had allowed himself to get hit. "Amateur." taunted the tiny devil as he backed away a couple of inches. He knew that Demidevimon were tricksters and minions but he didn't know a lot about their combat abilities. Plus he figured one paired with a human had to have some level of hidden strength right? Wasn't the whole point of a human and digimon pairing to protect the human? Certainly a weak digimon wasn't going to be picked for a task like that. His grip on the sword tightened as he watched the small dart appear in the enemies talon. Was he going to throw it or charge with it? Charging would have been a fool's move since Impmon had a sword. Impmon got himself ready to deflect the dart as it was thrown at him, but instead thought of a different a idea. He grinned letting his sword tap against his shoulder as the dart charged towards him. The venom laced dart stuck itself into Impmon's right shoulder, and the virus type didn't even flinch. No pain passed across his features, and not even the slightest bit of discomfort. He took a step forward, clearly not even affected by the poison that should have been coursing through his veins. "That the best you can do coward?" he taunted the bat further. A gloved hand reached up to the grab the tart from his shoulder blade and he crushed it within the palm of his hand. Tiny bits of data escaping from his hand as he took another step forward. He wasn't going to be able to use that little trick again but hopefully the scare tactic was enough to put the Demidevimon in its place. If not well, "You're not going to be able to wound me with worthless attacks like that." the Digimon cracked his neck and pointed his blade towards the floating bat. "Why don't I show you how a true agent of darkness fights."Impmon took one more step forward this time his entire body coated in an aura of darkness that broke away as he moved. The dark aura left behind took on a shape of its own, a mirror imagine of the actual Impmon. No words were exchanged between the fake and the original as they made their move. Both ran forward swapping places so to confuse the Demidevimon and her partner as to who the real one was. The Impmon to the right of the Demidevimon launched itself upward, "Hellfire Slash!" a series of three waves of black flames were unleashed from the Impmon's sword as it swung. The one in the air was of course Riku but Demidevimon wasn't going to be able to tell that now was he? The other Impmon stopped dead in its tracker hand aimed towards the devil bat, "Infernal Cannon!" a sphere of dark flames was released from its hand. It wasn't likely he was going to be able to dodge both them, even if he could fly. Time to see how well the bat and its partner held up under pressure.
Passive Unstoppable Force - Members of Hades Company are always pushing themselves to the limit. They charge forward like...well an Unstoppable Force. It's this iron will and desire to prove themselves in the face of hardships that gives members who are Rookie or above in level a special ability. When faced with an attack that is one level higher(or the same level) than their current form they are capable of brushing it off as though it never happened. Unfortunately they are only capable of doing it once.[Used]
Attacks Dark Doppler - Impmon's entire body will be coated in an aura of darkness before he takes a step forward. The darkness will lift from his body and form into a solid copy of himself. This mimic of himself is slightly weaker than the actually Impmon, but is still capable of fighting on its own. It has access to Impmon's Infernal Cannon attack and can take a total of two hits before fading. Should the hit count not be reached it stays active for three turns. 5 Turn Cooldown
Hellfire Slash - Impmon will coat his sword in black hellfire and then release a total of three slashes forward. Each swing of the sword will release a wave of the flames forward. Upon making contact with a surface the black flames will envelop the target and continue to burn away at them for two turns. Should Impmon not have a sword within his hands he will instead form one of his own using the black hellfire. 3 Turn Cooldown
Infernal Cannon - With his hand extended Impmon will launch a ball of black hellfire towards his intended target.[50% Power]

@ Atticus Grimm | ❝ The attack did absolutely nothing. Pagu was taken aback by this feat, as was his tamer, though to a much lesser extent. It must of been some sort of illusion - there was no way another rookie level Digimon could just dodge an ability like that effortlessly. There was only one way to find out - hit it again. The bat monster quickly got it together, going forth to taunt the imp further, "That was just a warm-up!"
His tamer still sat idle, though was getting prepared to step-in, most likely due to the fact that she was quickly getting bored with the fight. Rookie levels were so pathetic and underwhelming, she almost wondered why she bothered to protect them at times. Protect the weak, it was a duty of the strong, she supposed. It was something she was taught in her childhood, at the very least. Harley unclipped her Digivice from her belt, preparing to activate it to hasten the battle.
Meanwhile, the Impmon split into two, and even though Pagu tried to keep an eye on which one was the real one - he lost track somewhere in their movements. The bat demon focused on the imp releasing the wave attack, successfully dodging it without any real effort, but running right into another Infernal Cannon attack. This almost caused him to be knocked out of the air - all of this fire damage was sure taking a toll on this form. "Enough! Endless Night!"
The nightmare soldier flapped his wings faster and faster, gaining distance backwards from both of the small demons. A dark shroud surrounded the Digimon, then forth coming a large swarm of small bats made out of dark energy. They would chaotically fly into anything and everything for a small cone of a few meters in front of the caster, exploding upon contact. This was demonstrated as one hit the ground, hissing and expanding into a painful blast of inky darkness.
Harley took a few steps forward, casually looking up to her Digimon, then to one of the Impmon, and then to the other one. Her partner probably wasn't going to survive much longer without her intervention - this guy was clearly more skilled than the average wild thug she took down in the past.
