He makes clever strategic decisions and has the possibility to become a great leader. He is incredibly independent and can also be quite solitary at times, stemming from his knack at being able to take care of himself from a young age. With the constant desire to prove himself to his parents and his peers, he spends most of his spare time studying in hopes of ever surpassing his older brother who has been a boy genius since the age of eight.[break][break] He is incredibly witty when he doesn’t try to be, which is why he doesn’t get taken seriously most of the time, but at least means well. Simon is very loyal and kind to the few friends he has, including his cat whom he feels is the only one who truly understands him. His parents don’t even have any knowledge of a feline animal living in their house, which shows how little they actually care about their youngest son. This is something he knows but doesn’t want to accept, Simon is a teenager with little ability to accept things that are beyond his power. This usually results in him putting more pressure on himself to try harder, however, this often just causes him stress. This is why he's quite the perfectionist and hard-worker, such that he can stay up late into the night just to finish something he’s started or needs to be done, and will typically do the task by himself to ensure it meets his standards.[break][break] He takes joy out of reading and learning, which sort of alienated him from his fellow students who, at this certain type of age, would rather go out drinking and partying. While his characteristics and demeanor might look like that of a passive and pacifistic teen, Simon is quite capable of defending himself or others if needed. However, if there is someone that needs help he will feel obliged to aid them no matter the cost. Which is why he is often seen defending other people who are being bullied. Born in a family where his older brother excelled in everything, thus casting a shadow on him the process. He didn't live up to his parent’s expectations. Thus he put more pressure on himself. Because he spent so much time studying, he neglected social interactions. Therefore he wasn't able to understand cues. For example, when he would make witty remarks he didn't understand that he was being offensive. One day he found a stray kitten that he kept on feeding for several days until it followed him home. He found the physical contact and interaction soothing, so he named the kitten Azrael and took it home.
