It was some kind of field, like in those pictures he'd seen of Africa. The sky was clear, it wasn't too hot, and there was a smattering of animals off in the distance. It was the kind of place Detlev would've loved to visit one day, and he would've just loved to lie down and enjoy the scenery.
But how did he get here in the first place? More importantly, why was there a dinosaur walking around on two legs? And did it just shoot fire out of its mouth?
The reality of the situation had hit Detlev pretty quickly. He had no idea how or why he was here, let alone where he was. The last thing he remembered was falling after his sister pushed him into something, then waking up in the middle of this place. He was pretty sure he wasn't in Germany anymore, and he didn't think any animals could spit fire. Or were bipedal dinosaurs.
He had already called out to his sister, but received no response. He had climbed up onto the top of fairly tall rock to get a better view of the area, but it was just miles of field with no roads or buildings in sight. He didn't see any other people, either, though he didn't expect to. He had looked around for roughly an hour before giving up - he was in the middle of nowhere.
His determination drained, he sat down by a tree, one of the few sources of shade in this place. His sister had insisted he leave his cellphone behind - likely because they both knew his parents could track him with it - so he couldn't call anyone for help. His mind moved over to that strange device he had found on his desk. He fished it out of his pocket, looking it over once again. It wasn't any kind of toy he had seen before. All he could get it to do was tell him the time.
12:30 PM
Not really much help there.

(Starting in New York-- before being sent to digital world) Detlev IgnatzThe beginning...William was always a dreamer. Having grown up in a suitable life style thanks to his father, Richard Castle-- the famous mystery writer-- he had a good life going on for himself. He had the support of his father and grandmother who were living in the same home, had a good school life, save for the occasional bullies, and a dream of his own. Still, part of him yearned for the desire to see other worlds. Other fantastic places as he would write about in his spare time. He always thought it was just dreams, fantasies, something to dream of and dream only to make into something he could use for his future, like his father did. Little did he know today his whole world was about to change. After school, Will often took a bus to China Town, that his father allowed him to do during certain hours. Arriving at the bus stop, he got out right where he wanted to go. An old antique shop run by a friend of his father's With his backpack around his shoulder, Will stepped off and entered the store. He always enjoyed entering this store, surrounded by ancient artifacts and antiques-- mostly that of the orient. And what really got Will's attention most of all. Dragons. He loved dragons and would collect everything from statues and gifts from his father, to trading cards that just showed dragons on it. His love for those mythical creatures was only one lure to that fantasy lore he loved so much. "Welcome, Mr Castle," a man said. Will turned around to see his friend Mr. Xiao. Will smiled and bowed his head to him. "Good afternoon, Mr. Xiao. " William said. The man often did business with Will's father, and often discussed concepts for his book. As such, he was one person in china town that his father trusted and allowed his son to go so far into the city to visit. Even when Will had no personal cash to spend, he was always welcomed to look around. "Have any new dragon items around?" The shop catered to many interests. Mr. Xiao carried some electronics in the store too, furniture and other goods, but he was most known for his 'secret' collection of antiques. Not the illegal kind of course. Along with books as well. He was looking around one of the books... till something shiny caught his eye. It was a faint glimmer-- a simple gleam of something, coming from one of the corner of the book shelves. Curious, he drew closer. At first, he thought it was some coins... but as he got closer to where he saw it, wedged in between the stacks... he saw it. A strange silver device. Reaching up, just a small bit higher than he was, he got his arm in there and reached for it. Finding a grip, he pulled it out, causing a few books to fall beside him. He opened his hand to find a strange little silver and black device, looking like some kind of tamagachi-- but way more decked out. It fitted into his hand easily with a series of buttons and a small screen. "Huh... what is this?" he asked, shaking it lightly. THere was no response to the strange device. Meanwhile back in the Domain Savana... a well of light began to form. It would be visible to Detlev too... but in truth it was the opening of another portal to the digital world, one triggered by the finding of the strange device!

This device was obviously not going to be of any help to him. He had no map, no compass, and at this point, and he was beginning to suspect he wasn't in Africa. He probably wasn't in Australia either; he heard there were a lot of strange creatures and critters there, but he never heard any reports of fire-breathing dinosaurs. But if that were true, where was he? Was he even on Earth anymore?
As the sun passed overhead through the leaves and onto Detlev's face - which he reflexively blocked with his hand - an idea popped in his head. If he was going to get anywhere, it was time he learned which direction was which. There were a couple of tricks he learned in the Scouts that could help orient himself: the sun rose from the east and set in the west. If he could find out which way the sun was setting, then he could learn which way was west - and with that, he could get a grasp of where the cardinal directions pointed. It wouldn't be that much help without a map, but it was a start.
But he was smart enough not to stare at the sun until it moved enough. Detlev pocketed the device and grabbed the nearest stick. With it, he marked the area he was sitting, circling the area where the ray of light was shining. Whichever way the ray moved, the sun would be opposite of. A simple plan, but as long as the circle wasn't disturbed, he was confident that it would work.
The only thing now was to wait. But fortunately, the wait wasn't going to be as boring as the boy anticipated.
A well of light popped out of nowhere, a few meters away from where Detlev was standing. He recognized that light almost immediately - it was just like what he saw right after his sister pushed him into a TV! He stood in place and stared in silence; what was going to happen? Was he going to black out again and wake up somewhere completely different? Was he supposed to go into it so he could go back?
Or maybe the same thing that happened to him, was about to happen to someone else?

Detlev IgnatzWilliam held the strange device in his palm, unsure what it was. He was about to go and ask the shop owner what it was, when it started to let out a soft glow from its screen. His attention was then draw to a flickering-- from an old TV that was sit atop one of the filing cabinets at the end of the bookshelf. Slowly, William walked towards it, unsure what was going on? He saw something. A view of some kind of land. However, as he got closer, the device he held began to suddenly go off-- releasing a bright glow of light. "Wh--what's going on?" Will shouted, trying to find out what was happening... but it was that time that the TV screen lit up and released a blinding light. William felt some force pull him forward as he gripped the device and was sent flying forward, as if the entire store had tipped. He fell forward and was blinded by the light. As in the Digial World.... The circle of light had come from an unknown source as the other stranger soon saw it, but as he would get close, a cry from another person appeared and like a meteorite, light shot into the ground and out from the sky fell William. "WHAAAAAA!!" WHOOMPH! He landed into the long grass, softening his fall slightly but stil hurt as he landed face down in the earth. His digivice tumbled a short distance away, gleaming in the sunlight as he recovered. A groan escaped him as he rolled over to his back, trying to make sense of things. The blinding sunlight stunned him as he tried to figure out what happened. Had he been more aware.. he would of been thrilled to learn where he was now. He was in another world.

Detlev watched as the well of light extended up to the sky, clearly visible despite how close it was to the sun. Barely, just barely, he could see a figure descending through the pillar. Someone was coming down. Hope and joy started to build up as he began to think that it was someone - or something - coming down from heaven to help him. Or his sister.
But then he heard the yelling. It sounded like a guy, so it couldn't have been his sister. And he was pretty sure that an angel's descent would be more graceful and not involve any screaming. Now that he thought of it, whoever it was was falling at a pretty quick rate. A different, more morbid thought entered the boy's head: this guy was falling from really high up, which probably meant he wasn't going to survive this fall. All he could do was continue to watch until the guy hit a pile of grass with a "WHOOMPH!"
Almost immediately, Detlev ran over to where the guy had landed. A brief glint of light off to the side caught his attention, but he ignored it; he had to see what the guy looked like.
They guy actually looked pretty ok, apart from the fact he landed face-first. Detlev had expected him to be a bloody mess, or for one of his limbs to have flown off. At the very least, a broken bone, but this guy looked fine. The boy was relieved, but it would be dishonest to say he wasn't the least bit disappointed.
Still, the guy didn't look all that good. Was he even conscious? Detlev was ready to test that by poking him with the stick he still had in his hand, but a groaning noise dissuaded him from that course of action. And then the guy rolled on his back, confirming that he was both alive and conscious, albeit in pain.
Detlev stood a few feet away from the guy. He wasn't sure if he should go over and help him get back up, since he looked in pretty decent shape. It wouldn't hurt to ask, just to be sure.
"[Hey!]" he began, "[That looked like a pretty bad fall! Are you alright?]"

Detlev IgnatzWilliam was still out of it as he recalled what happened. He was in the store one moment, found the little device-- and next thing he knew he was lying in a grassy field. He was not knocked out but he felt disoriented by his change of enviorment. He heard a voice nearby and looked to find another kid, a few years younger than him from the looks of him. Will groaned as he shook his head. He found the silver device on the ground and picked it up, but was surprised as he looked up to the clear sky. " Wha... what happened?" Will asked, perplexed. Even worse, the guy he met didn't seem to speak any english. The dialect was german, and sadly Will didn't speak it. " Uh... hi there? I'm Will. Wiiiilllll." he said, pointing to himself. He felt silly but it was the only way to explain his name. Looking around, he lost his breath as he saw the wide sky and Savannah. This was definitely no where near New York City. " Oh wow... I can't believe it..." he said, but he was more thrilled than scared. Perhaps a bit of both. " It does exist... I am in another world," he said, looking at the planes before him.

Hate,Forever Wispy strands of midnight coiled around a cluster of trees sitting upon the savannah, their forms forever reaching outward. A duskmon emerged from the dark cloud with Obasi riding comfortably in his arms. “That woman never tells me anything, and her orders are always so damn vague.” He griped after being released from Legion’s grasp.
“Oh well, she didn’t say I couldn’t have some fun when I was on break.” A smirk pursued his final words. Obasi greatly enjoyed his job, but like any employee he had complaints, even if his were few and far between. Besides, she gave the powdery-haired youth freedom to largely do as he pleased, so long as it serviced her goals. “We are gonna find that little Bearmon bastard, and make him tell me where his stash is.”
After telling Legion of his scheme, the chocolate-skinned youngster retrieved a pair of hi-tech binoculars from his half cloak. ”These babies are state of the art.” He said waving his new toy about. “If they don’t find that little furball nothing will.” From nothingness appeared a shimmering veil of light followed by a plummeting boy, before it was quickly swallowed up by the sky above. Eyes all a deep red hue bore witness to his fall from another world.
“Master, a portal is opening up.” In a fittingly ominous voice, the multi-eyed monster informed his unaware tamer of the newly opened gateway. Alerted to the arrival of a new tamer, a grin with a slightly psychotic bent made an appearance upon the tamer’s features, only to fall into a thin line after Obasi regained his composer.
“I have never met another tamer that just got here. Let’s check it out, Legion. Maybe I can finally meet people my own age instead of all these damn old people.I am all excited and shit now.” With zero hesitation the broad-shouldered digimon scooped up the lithe frame of Obasi, and began walking forward until the surrounding shroud of darkness consumed them. Will’s descent took place only a few yards from where they stood, making for a short trip.
Bound for the falling child, it wasn’t long until the duo reached his landing spot. An enormous black mass of gossamer tentacles heralded their arrival, with the taller of two carrying his tamer. Two boys, both seemingly younger than him stood before the duskmon and his master. The plethora of eyes dotted about Legion’s impressive frame danced about as they inspected the two strangers. They were late to the party, but just in time to catch the last bits of what Will had said.
“Well, Will welcome to the domain savannah, and hello to you too, other...tiny little person whose name I don't know.” He said as Legion still in the form of Duskmon sat him down. ”Sorry about the unnecessarily edgy intro, but it’s a decent way to travel around on foot.” He explained complete with hand motions and a tone that took nothing seriously. “Anyway, name’s Obasi and Eye man here is Legion. Not sure if either of you give a fuck, but there you are.” Ending his speech with his thumb still directed at Legion.
PASSIVE ABILITIES ○ Traveler of Shadows – Darkness walks with Duskmon, encasing his surroundings in a murky gloom. Begins at 5 yards and expands every yard for each post. Duskmon may teleport from one location to another, so long as it is within this sea of inky blackness. He may not teleport directly behind an opponent. If the digimon uses this ability to avoid an attack he must wait for 3 rounds before attempting avoid another attack. As the darkness is supernatural in nature, nothing short of abilities made to disperse darkness, or produce massive amount of supernatural light will disperse it. This is only temporary as it will return with two rounds.

The good news? The guy was well enough to speak and move around. The bad news? The language he was speaking wasn't German. Detlev's best guess was this guy was speaking in English. The school he went to did teach English as a secondary language, but it was easily one of his worst grades. No amount of tutoring fixed that.
Oh man. That wasn't good.
Then the guy started pointing at himself and said a few things, Detlev's face unchanging as he just stared in confusion. He tried to focus on the words he knew. He could recognize a couple of words, like "hi" and "will". Was he trying to say he would help? Was he trying to introduce himself, or trying to get Detlev to introduce himself?
"[Sorry! I'm really not good at English!]" Detlev exclaimed, only just realizing that the guy probably wouldn't understand him either. He pointed towards himself, hoping that the guy was just asking for his name. "[Detlev. My name's Detlev!]"
As ideas went through his head as to how he'd try to talk to this guy without words, Detlev noticed that the area around him began to get darker. His mind went to the thought that maybe it was just a cloud, but he quickly took notice to the tentacles that pretty much told him this wasn't a natural darkness. He very quickly took notice to the source: a very large man in armor, with a much more normal-sized person.
As the new guy spoke - which Detlev guessed as also being in English - the boy tuned him out as his eyes darted to each eye on the giant man's armor before reaching the "man's" actual eyes. This guy was really strange-looking - he was way too tall and his body was disproportionate. And did some of those eyes on his armor follow his gaze?
A smile began to grow on the boy's face. That was so cool!
All of those oddities, he attributed to the armor; it could've been a kind of power armor like in those post-apocalyptic games his sister gave him. Detlev took a glance at the new guy - with the way he was pointing, it looked like he was talking to the guy who fell from the sky, so the child didn't feel guilty focusing on the armored man. He walked over so he could get a better look, careful not to trip on any of the tendrils strewn along the ground.
He stopped a couple of feet away from the tall man. "[That armor's so cool!]" he exclaimed, his eyes wide with wonder. He reached forward with his free hand, adding, "[Can I-]"
He paused as he realized that there was something he forgot to ask. His arm went back down, but his eyes still held his excitement. "[Wait...do you guys only speak English too? Do you understand what I'm saying?]". Hopefully, someone understood what he was saying. He really wanted to get a closer look at that armor.

Obasi Azikiwe Detlev Ignatz(OOC: Sorry for delay. using new computer so stuff to update) Will was confused over his 'new friend' who didn't understand a lick of english. Will didn't know what to do, he just shook his head. At best his name would be possibly Detlev, but he couldn't be sure. Then things went from bad to worse... as a dark figure and another strange person appeared-- and his companion in toe was not someone William felt he could trust. The guy was a black skeletal looking warrior with giant eyeballs coming out of him. He looked like someone who belonged in a horror movie. While the shyer kid was a bit more chatty with his words, Will didn't know what to say, but he took a step back. He couldn't trust this guy as his opinion of this guy was rather... unnerving. This Obasi and Legion, something was very off about him, even if Obasi was human too. Will reached out and grabbed the younger kid Detlev by his arm, prepared to run if things got ugly. " Hello... but I can't say it looks like you mean to be giving us a warm welcome with a friend like THAT," William said as he took another step back, seeing the seeping darkness that appeared to come off from Legion.

Hate,Forever Turning his head to address Detlav, Obasi did his best to assuage the smaller boy’s concerns. "I can only write a little bit of German, but I can speak and understand it fairly well. If you’d like I can translate for you?" Learned and bilingual, Obasi was fairly well off when it came to communicating with people who didn’t speak English. For languages he didn’t understand, Legion like all digimon could pick up the slack.
The communication barrier was obviously a larger issue for Detlav, who colored his words with panic and worry.[It’s fine. Once you obtain your digimon it can translate for you, so it will work out for you.” ] His voice playful and his words reassuring, but he didn’t want to be condescending, so he left it there. After all, the pre-tamer had a reason to be worried considering he had no partner hurting ability to interact with others. ["I am Obasi and this is my digimon Legion. He looks bomb as fuck, am I right?"] Without missing a beat Obasi also introduced himself and his silent digimon. Try as he might he couldn’t suppress the excitement in his throat at meeting other people near his age. The SS housed people no younger than 20, and being a 16 year old made relating to them harder than he would’ve liked. The kid might’ve been significantly younger than him, but it was better than talking to adults. [It’s nice to meet you, Detlev.] Not wanting to forget before he spoke to Will Obasi allowed the youngster to touch Duskmon’s “armor”. ["Sure, kid just be careful of the jagged edges."] Usually Legion’s Duskmon form wasn’t terribly popular, but this kid seemed to appreciate it. He had a good feeling about this boy’s future here.
“Champ, if I wanted to kill you, you’d be dead before you knew it.” Obasi finished with a look of annoyance plastered to his face. “See that that black shit on the ground?” He said index finger pointed at the earth beneath them. “Eyeman there uses it to travel around in, meaning you’d be dead before you moved from that spot." To emphasize Obasi’s point, Legion vanished into the darkness reappearing to Will’s left. A crooked blade of a sanguine hue on display for frightened boy to see, but this wasn’t a show of bravado. This was simply the chocolate-skinned tamer’s way of demonstrating what he meant.
“So don’t insult me by attributing motives to me that I don’t have. Your ignorance and small-mindedness are not appreciated here, and they will get you killed. Wanna know why? Because you will overreact and piss off the wrong person and that kid is a piece of advice for you. I have better things to do than kill some newbie tamers. I bet you don’t even know what your digivice does. “ Obasi said with a smirk still on his face. “I work for a psychotic angel bitch, and I don’t have anyone my age to talk to. I saw you land and I thought people my own age, so don't piss your pullups and relax.I am just really bored.”
“Oh right, the kid wanted to look at your armor, Legion” With a sigh Legion returned to where he once stood, allowing Detlve access to him.

Relief washed over Detlev the moment he heard the dark-skinned boy respond to him in German. The boy's new grin only grew in size when he received the offer for a translation, and he immediately nodded in response. "{Yes!}" he exclaimed, "{That'd be great! I'd really appreciate it!}" He could hardly hold back his exuberance; everything had been a mystery so far: what this world was, what that giant well of light was, or what the other kid was saying. And now here came someone who spoke the same language as he did and seemed to know a lot about what was going on.
He paused and gawked at the guy in confusion when he mentioned two things: something about "digimon", and that Detlev was supposed to get one of his own. What was he talking about? What was a "Digimon"? That question was only somewhat answered by the guy's introduction - the big armored guy was a "Digimon" named Legion. The confusion did little to abate his excitement, though. If anything, the prospect of having a giant guy in a giant suit of power armor of his own only intensified his excitement. The confused look he gave shifted into one of joy - oh, the things he could do with a Digimon of his own~
His previous grin returned when he received permission to get a closer look at Legion's armor. He would have gladly walked over and inspected him, but something held him back. Specifically, the English-speaking boy was holding Detlev by his left arm. Looking over, it actually seemed like the teen was pretty nervous about something. While the boy couldn't understand what he said, the way the guy said it was hasty, and he seemed to be focused on Legion. "{What's wrong?}" Detlev asked, momentarily forgetting that his question likely wouldn't be understood.
He wasn't sure if he would let the teen keep his grip on his arm, or if he should've tried to escape it. This indecision was complicated with what Obasi did next.
The language barrier was strong, but the way Obasi spoke and Legion's actions were enough for the child to understand that he wasn't saying nice things. He sounded harsh and angry, much different from when he was speaking in German. And he had a lot to say. Whatever the other teen said must have been really mean to get him to go on such a rant. Legion's actions were what really captured Detlev's attention: disappearing, then appearing by the teen's side, brandishing a blood-red sword. Detlev stood silent, his smile and joy quickly disappearing, making no effort to escape from the teen's grasp.
Thankfully, nobody got hurt - Legion disappeared again, reappearing in front of Detlev as he was before Obasi's rant began. The child's desire to get a closer look at the armor had been greatly diminished, to say the least. For a moment, he wanted to ask what had happened, but held it back; if it had been offensive, then a reminder would've made him angrier. Best to avoid that.
Instead, he would change the subject. Plus, he still had some questions he wanted answered, so he'd start with those. "{You said I was going to get a 'Digimon'?}" he inquired, attempting to take and hold Osabi's attention. "{What are Digimon? Is mine gonna look like Legion?}"

Detlev Ignatz Obasi Azikiwe What a rude person-- let alone scary when he reappeared beside Will and caused Will to jump in fright. He sadly had a small fear of the dark but as much as it was and this was scarying Will enough. Not to mention the kid was being rude to him as well with his words. "Hey! Okay okay! Sorry," Will said, holding up his hands defensively. "Look, we are both going through alot so how about giving us the benefit of the doubt okay?" Will still stepped away from the Duskmon, not liking the looks of him very well. "Besides, I have no clue what so ever what is going on?" he said, It was then Obasi mentioned the use of the digivice, and Will looked at the Silver D-3 he had. "You mean this? Of course I don't know-- I found it in an old shop in the city and before I knew it-- I was here. " he said, and was not afraid to state his point about it. "If you know anything about where we are or what is going on, I would appreciate if you told us." Detlev sadly, he didn't understand a lick of his words but for now he just tried to talk to the one person he could-- Obasi, despite the bad vibe he was getting from him. He kept his guard up but listened all the same.
