Basically put - Digimon: Exodus is DFRP twenty-five years into the future. The current site year, in the real world, is 2041. Technology is slightly advanced, and people in the real world are beginning to catch onto the events of the Digital World through this advanced technology, but are still mostly in the dark.
The outside world could be compared most to Digimon Adventure 02 or Digimon Tamers in setting - with slight elements of Savers. The main city of focus in the real world will be Tokyo, with the Shibuya sector center-most. However, there will also be real world areas in America, Europe, and Northern Asia - giving the human world a larger variety of locations to role-play at.
As for the Digital World, that will be divided into six different sections - which will be based upon lore (that might be altered or changed) that I just thought up of a few seconds ago. I have planned on basing the overall site creation lore on that of the Greek lore of the Titans the rise of the Olympians.
Long ago, the Digital World was a much different place than it was today. It needed not a ruler, though many came to try to claim that illustrious title. The King of the Digital World, the ruler, the supreme overlord, having power over an entire dimension enticed many Digimon and humans alike.
A group of humans once achieved this, though their tale short-lived and somewhat tragic. They were all once tamers like any other, but became corrupted by their sins, becoming greedy, prideful, wrathful, lustful, gluttonous, slothful, and perhaps most dangerous; envious. They rose to power, made a name for themselves, and toppled all that opposed them. They took that illustrious title, they ruled the entire Digital World and were viewed as heroes - having vanquished a previous ruler, though not having the best of intentions their-selves.
But it was not to last.
At their shining moment, at the height of their glorious rule, something went wrong. The envious betrayed the others, causing internal conflict that weakened them as a whole, and ultimately led to their downfall. The Digital Sovereigns, beings forgotten about and staying out of the conflict until the time was right - saw that that very time had come. They struck them down while weakened, stripping of them of their power and banishing them forever. The name of the group has at this point in time been forgotten by all but a select few - the group only leaving but an ominous mark in history.
The Digital Sovereigns, along with their leader Fanglongmon and close friend Plutomon, split up the regions of the Digital World. One would rule the West, one would command the East, one would govern the North, and one would claim the South. Fanglongmon would take to the sky and protect the angels, while Plutomon was tasked with the heavy duty of ruling the underworld - the Dark Area.
That was several years ago. Now new threats rise up to challenge the balance of the Digital World, and the Sovereigns grown lazy and prideful - just as all rulers of the world become.
This generic plot will allow for members to shape it and grow the site into what they see fit, plot-wise, with guidance from staff in the form of plot events and NPCs. To start off the site, we could have a minor NPC villain about Champion-Ultimate level cause some trouble with a small gang of NPCs or players who decide to follow him/her.
As for areas, each will be diverse and contain a number of sub-boards. The main categories will be The East, The West, The North, The North, The Skies, and Dark Area. Each will have around 6-8 subboards and will contain a town or city, as well as a temple to the sovereign or ruler to the area.
