Training the Rookies [Retry]

[Nicholas Hyde]

Hyde paced back and forth, waiting quietly in one of the training facilities in the set up in the Deck, in one of the middle levels. A large open space, exercise and training equipment moved to the side and lining the walls. They were going to need the space for what Hyde had planned.

The Wild Cards were coming along better than Hyde had hoped. He had managed to bring plenty of members into the fold, but Hyde wasn't going to be just satisfied with having high numbers. He wanted quality, as well as quantity. That was why he was here. He knew a couple of his members were on the lower end of the power spectrum, and Hyde wanted to bring them up a bit, give them some training to increase their strength. And so, here he was, waiting for the three members he had called to come down here. Drilling Jack, the digimon known as Drum, Rough Club, the Goblimon called Merlin, and Floral Diamond, the french spirit wielder.

Meanwhile, Sable was sitting on the sidelines, watching her tamer pacing back and forth. She took was curious to see just what the three raw recruits were capable of.

Sky above me. Earth below me. Fire within me. "You wanted to see me, Hyde?" Drum questioned at the front of the entrance to the training facilities, the Mini Dragon Digimon as always adorned with his set of armor and idly wagging his tail slowly to and fro behind him. Spotting Sable not too far away the draconic Digimon waved his greeting at the PawnChessmon. "Hey Sable, doing good?" Drum idly wondered if there was ever a time when he spoke with Hyde's partner but couldn't find a moment of that ever happening, it was always Hyde that he put the most attention to considering he was the leader of the Wild Cards; but yet it was Sable the one that gave everyone their code names. Drilling Jack being his own that he considerably liked as a name to go by on his missions... Which he hasn't taken any so far, but he theorized that once he got stronger than he was now he could easily go out and try his best with the other heavy hitters of the Wild Cards; training was just the thing he needed to get stronger is all.

Odette laid on her bed, looking at the wall as she sighed. Her eyes were half closed as she wondered on when she should go to meet up with Hyde. The last time she met up with him, it was awkward. 'You know that you wanna go.~' chiwa cheered in her girly voice within her thoughts. 'And be shown how weak I am right now?' she responded back and sighed once more. Her hands gripped the sheets as she rolled off the bed. She'd sit up and get on her boots as she would go out the door. ''Hopefully the other rookies don't get in my way...'' she spoke to Chiwa as the spirit her would listen. Going down the stairs, Odette would go towards the deck and walk into it. The first person she saw was Hyde, making her feel somewhat warm. Her pink eye would look away to then see a small digimon. 'Mmmm...should be alright.' she would think. Finally she would walk out more as she would be standing to a point where they were triangle positioned.

And so Drum and Odette had arrived. Two out of the three wasn't bad. He hadn't heard anything from Merlin, but he wasn't going to keep these two waiting. He could jump in when he got here. As Sable gave Drum a wave from the sidelines, Hyde gave the two a smile. "Glad you two could come down here," he said, seeing that the three of them were in a triangular position. Not bad. "As you two already know, the Wild Cards are a mercenary force. We get paid to fight other people's battles. Of course, the more powerful and competent you are, the more high paying jobs you can take. So, I've decided, as leader of the company, to give the two of you a little leg up. Help you guys grow stronger so you can survive in this business."

His feet slipped into a stance as he brought up the Dealer Arm, the mechanical prosthetic created by Vulcanusmon. "I want you to start off by showing me what you can do. Both of you, come at me with everything you've got!"

Sky above me. Earth below me. Fire within me. Hearing footsteps approaching their location, Drum turned his body slightly to inspect the new arrival in their midst; eyeridge raising in curiosity at a girl he had never seen before. She didn't seem to have a Digimon by her side so he suspected that perhaps just like Degas and Leyton she was in the same category as them; able to turn into a Digimon on their own power. Giving a hesitant smile the Mini Dragon waved at the girl standing not too far away from him. "Nice to meet you, the name's Drum. Hopefully, we can work together in the field someday." As far as introductions went it was basic and to the point; if a little awkward but hey, he tried his best. Shaking his head the Mini Dragon looked towards Hyde and couldn't contain the excited grin slowly stretching across his muzzle. "Heh heh. Don't take me lightly just because I'm a Rookie Level Digimon, Hyde!" Wasting no more time the Drumdramon dashed towards Hyde while the tail-drill at the end of his tail and the one on his wrist began whirring and spinning. Once he got close the Rookie would motion with the drill on his wrist like he was planning on using it but he would quickly feint left and twist around, his tail coming up quick aimed to tear and stab Hyde as a surprise attack. Odette looks towards the dino digimon and wonders what he is capable of. Her eye switched to Hyde in wondering on what they were going to train. 'Maybe just some talk and then we can go surfing!~' chiwa cheered. It was no talk though as she would feel the current winds caress her cheek, slide her hair off of her shoulders as her long white silk hair would move side to side.

"I want you to start off by showing me what you can do. Both of you, come at me with everything you've got!"

Was all Hyde said after the other stuff, but that was the only thing that got to her. 'I'm...suppose to attack him? But...' she thought as she didn't want to attack him, as awkward as it sounded. 'Hehe, I get to control thee now!~' chiwa spoke as it would then become silent. Sparkles of water would sprinkle around Odette as her body would shrink, Chiwa becoming in form instead. Her chibi blue eyes laid towards hyde and smiled innocently. She would be floating as she'd giggle randomly. ''Now that was interesting.~ Now...'' she would speak and wonder on what to do. She saw the guy named Drum attack him already. Her hand lifted up as she would collect moisture from the ocean that was close by, creating a ocean wave to go towards both drum and Hyde. As it would do so she would fly with it to then look at the non-knock backed Hyde as she knew he was probably stronger than her for now... She whispered, ''Hey Hyde.~'' Chiwa started. 'Ch-chiwa, don't embarrass me!' Odette spoke in a scolding way. ''You should've encountered her when you were alone in the rooooom together.~'' she teased and would fly away if Hyde tried anything. She would obviously keep going at it, but one at a time was good. Chiwa would giggle as she would then look at Drum with an innocent mischievous smile.

○ Tidal wave- Chiwamon sends a wave towards the enemy by collecting the moisture around her. If it hits the enemy they would take knock back damage. (If higher than Rookie, they won't get knocked back)

Good, these guys were ready. As Odette shifted into her digimon form, Drum charged at him. Hide brought his arm up, ready for any attack. As the digimon feinted with his left hand, Hyde almost fell for it, only managing to bring his arm up in time to hit the tail drill. Sparks flew as the huanglong ore arm managed to knock the drill aside, getting ready for a follow up punch when suddenly Chiwa launched her wave at him. Unable to react fast enough, Hyde was knocked back, rolling on the ground before springing to his feet, ready for more attacks from his training partners.

However, he hadn't expected her to suddenly appear by his ear, whispering playfully into it. When they were in the room together? "What?" Hyde said, spinning around just as the little water sprite put some distance between them. His face was bright pink, remembering that time. Was she trying to psyche him out? He quickly shook his head, turning his attention back to Drum. No getting distracted now.

Sky above me. Earth below me. Fire within me. Drum almost gaped at the form that Odette took when she let her spirit side reign free, it was so damn small it actually made him look taller for once! Well if you didn't count Hyde in that equation but semantics. Shaking his head the Mini Dragon frowned when his attack didn't seem to have connected against Hyde's... well hide as he side-stepped to the side at the last moment. Though the silver lining was that with how almost caught off guard the man was it let get hit by Chiwa's attack, knocking him back and away from each other; creating a bit of space to maneuver about. His ears twitched and strained but he couldn't seem to catch up whatever Odette said towards Hyde but judging by his flustered face it was probably something embarrassing. Not willing to let an opportunity like this pass by, Drum quickly smirked back at the Spirit Wielder before he started to gather energy from the flame hidden deep within his Digicore, the tubes adorning his armor began spewing thick smoke as he build-up a charge for this attack. With a cry of, "Pyro Sphere!" the Mini Dragon shoot a great fireball right at Hyde! OOC: Pyro Sphere used; 1 post cooldown. Piercing Drill's CD; 1 post. This was somewhat humorous to Chiwa as she flustered the poor guy. She saw his face turn pink, wondering on what was in that mind of his. She giggled, twirled up as she could see the dino Drum attack towards Hyde. She would look down at him with her sparkling blue-ocean star eyes and smile. Her water flowing hair would wave like currents controlled by gravity in which is possessed by all. She would flow back down like water that she is and go by his ear. ''Hyde.~'' she started and giggled. ''Go with the flow Hyde.~'' she would speak happily, twirling away again and then clapped her hands together. A bubble at 3x3 meters radius, would appear on top of hyde as it would then crash down onto him. Due to his digimon and or on being higher, she knew it would only damage him. She wouldn't want to drown the poor thing anyways. She would think of ways to embarrass Odette more while she had the chance. She honestly felt like attacking the one that was supposedly the same level, but she might as well go with this flow of messing with Nicholas Hyde .



○ Water Orb - Chiwamon creates an orb around her within 3x3 meters of where she's standing and sends it towards the enemy. If they are trapped it will snare the foe inside it for one turn. 2 post CD. (If higher than Rookie, they will only take damage)

Hyde shook his head, trying to shake off the blush from Chiwa's words. He couldn't allow himself to be distracted, especially during a fight. As Drum charged up a fireball, Hyde turned his attention to the little dragon, bracing himself. As Drum fired, Hyde thrust his arm out, catching the ball in mid flight and crushing it in his fingers. He couldn't help but smile. He wish he had someone recording this.

Then a shadow fell over him, and he looked up just in time for a ball of water to fall atop of him.

Despite his sheer badassery, Hyde was still only human, and thus found himself trapped inside the water ball. As his body floated in the water, he reached for the ground, digging into it with his mechanical arm. While his body was only human, his Dealer Arm was on par with an ultimate. Using the strength the arm possessed, he yanked himself out of the water, gasping for air.

Well, they're fighting in tandem. That's a good sign. Working with your teammates was always a good thing in a combat scenario. But now it was time for Hyde to go on the offensive. He glanced back at Chiwa before suddenly lunging towards Drum, bringing his arm back to strike. The guy was eager for a fight, so Hyde would give it to him. Of course, he had to be cautious about the little water sprite too.

Sky above me. Earth below me. Fire within me. "HEY!" Drum cried indignantly, a bitter expression crossing his features as his eyes suddenly turned pure white with his anger. "That's not fair! Teme!" A fiery aura suddenly shrouded the diminutive Dragon's form as new energy coursing through his veins. "I'm all fired up now!" With that declaration the male was ready to meet Hyde head on, but he was reckless and believed that a mere human couldn't possibly manage to damage him in any way. The pain that burst across his cheek was a clear realization that he still had much to learn. It was so strong that it made him skid back a little bit, almost sending him flying back if he was honest. He ignored the pain even though small bursts of white were lining his vision and instead used that chance to quickly dart in once more and whip about, bringing his tail-drill screeching loudly aimed at Hyde's midsection. Since he didn't want to gut the man and potentially kill him—he was still human after all— he aimed so that the drilling edge would make a mere gash on the male's flesh that would sting quite a lot. Even with the anger coursing through his body combined with the adrenaline that Moete Kita Zo gave him he was still lucid enough to look back at Chiwa and throw a wink at her. Teamwork mode activate. She watched Nicholas Hyde shake out of the words she spoke of, his shyness. She would giggle at this as emotions are quite powerful in battle and a real weakness as well. Her hand would point forward towards Hyde who was battling the other rookie. The rookie seemed to have winked at her, making her have a small smile. Was this guy winking at her out of flirting? Or a signal of battle? Chiwa had no time for males, no matter who they were. ''Surfs away.~'' she would say in her cute adorable voice, pointing forward still as another wave would go towards Hyde. As it would do so, she would form spear of about her size if not a half foot larger. ''Taste this!'' she would giggle and throw it at him. Making it obviously tasting like salt water. She didn't really care, as this was just for fun, or at least in her opinion.

It seemed Drum was going to take this up a notch. Good, just what Hyde was waiting for. He braced himself, waiting for the smaller digimon to attack. As he thrust his tail out to strike him, Hyde moved to the side, catching his tail in his mechanical grip. Behind him, he could hear Chiwa's wave coming towards him. Not this time! With a mighty heave, he swung the smaller digimon around him, throwing him towards the wave with a crash. Teamwork was a good thing, but it could sometimes be thrown back at you.

Suddenly, something hit him in the face, causing the man to stumble back. Sea water? It didn't take a genius to work out who had hit him. He had been letting that little sprite take shots at him for too long. Wiping the water out of his face, he began to charge towards Chiwa, coming at an angle to avoid any attacks she might throw at him.

Sky above me. Earth below me. Fire within me. Okay this might actually not gone just as planned on Drum's end. "Oh you sunuvabi—" Before Drum could finish that sentence his body rocked against the waves that Chiwa conjured seconds ago. With a yelp his body was knocked back after the crash, bouncing once against the metallic floor and skidding to a halt a few feet away. "Ow... that little..." Dizzy and with a pounding headache, the Drumdramon wondered what was the Fractal Code of the Locomon that ran him over. Shaking his head —a stupid thing to do he realized seconds later but he soldiered on— and getting himself back on track the Mini Dragon's gaze shifted towards Hyde, seeing his unguarded back as a perfect bullseye calling his name. The draconic Digimon took a deep breath, the exhaust-like tubes around his armor expelling smoke as he charged energy and released it as a giant fireball aimed right at Hyde's back! Chiwa looked around as she would see Hyde wipe off the water as if it was nothing. She saw how the wave would hit Drum, making her laugh. Her eyes caught on quickly as she saw Hyde charge towards her. 'It seems he's ready to fight you, Odette.' Chiwa spoke within her thoughts. 'I guess so...' she spoke back to her in thought as if she was saddened by this, it was battle though. Chiwa would fly up, ''Up up I go!~'' she teased and flew up high enough for him to not even catch her. She'd stick her tongue at him teasing as she flew away and around the training area. ''Weeeeeee.~'' she spoke in a fun-girlish way. She was having more fun with this than she should've, but that was the way Chiwa did things.
