A misunderstanding (closed)

The day wasn't anything special in particular, no it seemed just like any other day that year however instead of being asleep in bed next to the one he loved, next to the one he shared every single intimate moment with, he instead was up and gone away from their bed and away from holding her close. For what reason could he have to be away from his beloved, so early in the morning? That was easy he was meeting with someone else, a secret meeting with someone, a meeting that he had to keep from his beloved at all costs.

So there he was leaning on the side of a store in Tecton city waiting for the person this meeting was with to show up. Who could he be meeting with that he didn't want his love to find out? It was very simple it was her best friend Yana. He had texted her here with the intent to meet with her alone and not have Karisa find out about it. It was important for her not to know that this meeting would happen and what was about to happen when the two met. So there he stood, waiting for her to arrive. His message was clear, “I need you to meet me in Tecton city by the gates come with only your digimon don't tell Karisa.”

Yana had just entered the Digital world when she got the message. With nothing in particular that needed doing, she decided to heed her partner's request and train with her for a bit. There was no telling when the fighting might start again, in which case they would need to be ready to fight. Yana still didn't like it, and no doubt she never would, but it had become much easier for her to realize the important of not only knowing how but being good at it.

Regardless, seeing a message from Faust prompted her to put a stop to the training, "What's up with him...", Yana wondered, thinking out loud as she re-read the message on the way to Tecton City, "It's sounds important, but what would he need the both of us for without telling Kari-chan...?"

"Hmm, maybe he wants more advice in doing things with her?", Ari would suggest, earning a shrug from Yana as they looked around Tecton city, nearing the meeting place


Faust

He waited and waited till he saw her coming up towards him with her digimon. He smiled and stood up straight no longer leaning against the wall. With a smile on his face he walked over to her and embraced her briefly before pulling away. “Thanks for coming I called you here for a reason, I need your help with something. Karisa doesn't know it and wouldn't really care, but it's been almost a month since me and her have been official. While I do know some of the things she likes I would like a more feminine approach to getting her a gift if you understand what I am getting at.”

He would stand there and wait to see what Yana would say or do he didn't know if she knew that him and Karisa have been dating for a month now. He also wasn't sure if she would help him pick out a gift, given the last time they were together he sorta left her alone to go and flirt with Karisa. Right now he was just hoping that she would be willing to help the boyfriend of her friend out in picking a gift for her.

They had to wander around Tecton Ciry for a good while without seeing Faust, but fortunately for them, he wasn't one to keep them waiting. Eventually, they turned around the corner and immediately saw a familiar figure leaning against the wall: There he was...!
"H-hello...!", she greeted shyly

Now Yana would finally learn what was so important to warrant all of this secrecy. When he asked how he needed to buy a present for Kari due to their 1 month anniversary, Ari couldn't help but chuckle, even when Yana thought about it seriously:

"That's a difficult question, Kari always strives to remain as mysterious as possible...", Yana commented, scratching her head with a quizzical look, "I do know that she hates feeling threatened, so maybe you could get her a small weapon...? She's pretty picky when it comes to other things, except maybe Cats..."

Indeed, Kari went out of her way to hide the things she liked, her love for cats and cat like digimon seemed to be one of the few things she had revealed...

Faust

He was relived to see that she would accept in helping him pick out a gift for Karisa, this was great news for him given that he had no idea as to what would really be acceptable to give her. Hearing her offer about getting her a small weapon was interesting, though he thought back to her having the needles that she did and how effective she was with them. The idea of her actually having something meant to hurt somebody sent a small shiver down his spine in fear for others if they ever pissed her off. “Maybe not a weapon she seems to handle her self pretty well from what I've seen.” He said with a chuckle however her other idea wasn't such a bad one.

“Hmm getting her a cat is an idea, but naku.... I wonder if that little bear would eat it...” He pondered for a moment if it would be a good idea, recently he knew that she was getting sicker so maybe having a cat around could help her out, but he couldn't trust that bear. He shook his head and started to walk. “Come let's get walking if we stick around then we won't get anything done. I like the idea of a cat, I just don't know if it will live long enough with that bear around.... maybe a cat digimon....”

Unsurprisingly, Faust looked pretty uneasy at the idea of giving her weapons, and his answer confirmed it. He wasn't too keen on the idea, understandably so given that he was her lover: If he ever made her angry, there was a good chance he'd end up being the test case for whatever weapon he gave her. The second option was met with somewhat greater enthusiasm, but her reluctance was met with an amused chuckle on Yana's part.

The Cat Digimon beside her, however, was nowhere near as amused: "He could kiss his father's day goodbye if he did that with me around.", Ari answered with a cold smile. Truly, Digimon didn't really have literal mothers and fathers in a human sense, yet this was something any human male would comprehend easily enough.

Then looked around the streets, they weren't too far from the marketplace and a few stalls could be seen from where they were, "It doesn't have to be a real cat, maybe a cat plushie...?", she suggested

He gave a little chuckle at the idea of the gatomon kissing naku, it was a bit sweet but still odd. However once Yana spoke up about getting her a plush cat he shook his head at that. “No she carries around Naku like a plush doll and I think that little guy would get jealous if she got another plush doll.” He stopped for a moment to take a look at where they were, they had wandered into the selling grounds. That held many things like jewelry, weapons and other goods. “Hmm lets take a look around here for now. One of these stalls are bound to have something that she might like right?” He looked back at Yana with a puzzled look on his face as to what he should actually get for Karisa. Yana Sekigawa

He was even less interested in the idea of a plush cat than he was with the weapon idea, which defenitely made Yana look at him funny. However, his concern was genuine, and she nodded when he mentioned Naku might get jealous, "That... sounds like him alright.", Ari would comment, echoning Yana's own nodding.

Faust looked around idly and Yana followed suit, her eyes lingering on a few of the marked stalls that seemed mostly oriented towards clothes for humans. There had to be a lot of tamers and spirit wielders around for Digimon to be selling clothes like this, "Maybe we can find something interested around here...?", Yana suggested, picking a cute T-shirt with a cat design and holding it against her body

She was hardly a proper model given the difference between body types... Yana was skinny and elegant, Kari was full and curvaceous. But it was enough to get an idea...

His mind had wandered off for a bit thinking about other things, truth be told he was more worried about Karisa's safety in the coming weeks knowing that the Seaki had many things planned for all the so called good groups. He wasn't sure as to where Karisa stood, but he knew that he would make a note to keep her out of anything that would cause her harm. So when Yana had asked him about the cat t-shirt that she had picked up he absent minded spoke with a flirtatious tone in his voice “huh yea that looks really good on you, you'd make anyone jealous if they saw you.” It was his typical response when a female asked him about clothing and if it looked good on them or not. He didn't mean anything by it, but the tone and the way it was said could be misunderstood.

For whatever reason and even though he had been the one to ask for her help, Faust truly seemed worried about other things than not the present. Yana had no doubt it defenitely involved Kari in one way or another, but that wouldn't help him pick. He finally started paying attention, if for the wrong reason, making Yana look away with a bashful look, "Uhm, t-thanks..."

"You're lucky Kari isn't around... or worse, Naku~", Ari would tease, thinking back to how posessive the bear got over his tamer.

It didn't really look like honest flirting on his part, at least not to Ari. She could be wrong but faust didn't look like the type to cheat on his lover while buying a present for her. Regardless, the shy Yana promptly went back to browsing clothes:

"Seems most of these are too tight for her...", she commented

The comment of Yana's digimon Ari brought his attention back to what he was doing. He chuckled at her comment that naku wouldn't be too happy about what he had said and even noticed that Yana was a bit embarrassed as to what he had said about her. “ Yea the shirts here are a bit small for her.... but honestly I do think that they fit you Yana. Pick something out you like I'll need to repay you for helping me out anyways.” He started to rub the back of his head as he looked out at the other stalls in the area, each one had something to offer yet nothing seemed to be exactly right for what he wanted to give to Karisa. If Yana did pick something out he would pay for it before wandering off to a stall selling jewelry. There were many rings and necklaces and even earrings with gems in them. He looked at the prices and let out another chuckle. “Heh.. I bet I could resell these things in the real world for ten times as much for what I pay here.”

She looked visibly overjoyed at his offer, turning back with a faint glimmering look in her eyes, "R-really?! Then...", with that she turned right back onto the stands before her and trying to pick out an outfit. It didn't take long for her to seemingly forget what she was here to do as she promptly sifted through the options and picked something for herself, eventually finding a long blue coat that was hardly appropriate for the weather in tecton city.

"How aboit this one...?", she'd ask with a cute, somewhat innocent look as she put on the coat, taking it off soon enough as beads of sweat gradually trailed down her cheeks

Regardless, Ari didn't stop looking for Kari's present, hopping onto one of the market stalls to get a closer look at the wares.

Faust

Faust looked at what she had picked out and stopped for a moment. “I mean you're going to be very hot in that and not in the good way, but if that's what you want then sure by all means take it.” He was puzzled by her choice in clothing, but he wasn't about to say more about it, if that's what she wanted for helping him out then he wasn't going to say no to her. After all she was doing him a favor and helping him pick something out for Karisa. With that all said and done he brought his attention back to the jewelry booth that he was standing in front of. “See anything she might like?”

He himself was looking around at all the pendants and necklaces, his eyes eventually wandered over to a black and white gem that was cut to be in the shape of a heart. It was fitted to a golden chain that would drape down to hang right at her collarbone level. His hands instantly went towards it and picked it up. He looked over at Yana and her digimon. “Think that she'd like this one?” He wasn't really sure, but he felt like it resembled the two of them very well. Both had appearances that seemed kind and trusting, yet under that there was a darkness in the both of them. One that Yana didn't know that Faust carried yet. Yana Sekigawa

She obviously wasn't gonna use it here, but coats like that one were really expensive in japan, whereas here they were cheap enough that even a friend might buy it for her to return the favor. Nodding with a sheepish look, she handed it over to the Gottsumon behind the counter for payment.

Her attention was promptly drawn away to the jewelry booth however, as Faust inquired if there was something Kari might like, "Hmm, she never struck me as the jewelry kind, so maybe something simple?", she shook her head at his gold chain and gemstone heart, "Kari isn't the kind of girl you can impress by picking something that looks expensive."

Instead, she picked a platinum looking chain with a smaller heart that although ornate, didn't look overly ostentatious, "What about something like this...?"

He looked at what she had picked out and wondered if Karisa would like it. “Hmmm possibly, but I wasn't buying the other one just because it was flashy.” For some odd reason this seemed a lot harder than it should be, he knew that she would be excited to get anything from him so why was it so hard to just pick out something and call it a day? He let out a sigh and started to chuckle. “Maybe I should just buy her a giant bottle of booze and be done with it.” This was obviously a joke at how much she could drink in one sitting, but he wasn't sure if Yana knew that. Taking a deep breath he stepped away from the booth and looked around at what else to buy her, then he saw something in another clothing shop. He started to head right for it, without warning he pulled down a gray hoodie that had cat ears on the hoodie it's self and even had matching cat paws on the sleeves of the hoodie.
