"Why do you bother when you can't share these with anyone? How do you even know the pictures will come out, anyways?"
Reaver snorted, following alongside his tamer Justin. They'd been at this for an hour; when were things going to get exciting? Or at least less lake-y? The tall blonde held his camera to his face and snapped a few photos of the gorgeous scenery. Every breath in was fresh and untainted unlike anything New York offered, and the sights were much more pleasant than the skyscrapers that blocked the NY skyline. "Doesn't matter. If they do materialize in the human world, then i'll keep them on my external hard drive. If they don't, they're still here." Justin pressed a finger to his temple and returned the camera back to it's resting place on his cheek. "Besides. It's good practice. I do have to still feed myself, ya know..."
"Yeah yeah, I get it. But after this, you owe me something exciting. Something exhilarating. Something like-" "Howabout we grab some Chinese takeout when we go back?" "Fantastic idea! You know, your wit and charm are second to none. The extent to which you know me is rather shocking if I do say so myself."
Justin couldn't help but chuckle at the pun before looking down at his partner.
"Really? I expected a static response, not something so emotionally charged. Chinese takeout it is. At least New York is good for one thing..." The Aussie trailed off, snapping one last picture of the Exalakes before sitting down on a hillside. Work was long and usually disappointing, but his trips to the Digital World seemed to revitalize him. If this was what he was in for when he moved to New York, perhaps the man would have moved sooner. But, that did pose a problem as he was barely hanging on as it is. He could only make animals so interesting before the higher-ups wanted bigger and better pictures. Something with more excitement. And, unfortunately, he couldn't sway their high expectations with Chinese Takeout.
"Whatcha thinkin' bout, boss?" Reaver padded over to sit next to Justin on the hillside, grateful for the occasional breeze that wafted through his fur. For the most part, the pair got along swimmingly. Their relationship usually depending on how often Reaver blew electronic devices Justin owned. But, for the most part, that wasn't too terribly horribly... often. Yes, it was often. There would always be a soft spot for Reaver, though.
"Just how much I love the Digital World already."

| ❝ Ears flinched at the sound of the camera shutters echoing across the exalakes; that was certainly not the usual noise one would hear in the vicinity, or the entire digital world for that matter. Cameras didn't exist in the digital world, digimon didn't know how to use them unless someone brought them from the human world or... someone from the human world was there. Oh, how he loved this. A wide, toothy grin was pulled from the corners of his lips before turning towards his tamer with an unfriendly intent reflecting on his eyes.
"Somebody got here first," The gazimon's scratchy voice lingered on the air. He brought his right paw up, preparing his claws "Should I make them go away?" Even the slightest nod would do for him to start hunting. He knew very well that Astoria wasn't fond of sharing, he learned that from day 1.
The black-haired tamer's nonchalant expression was seemingly immovable but a small smile slipped from her thin lips, breaking her serious facade. She remained silent, though, and proceeded walking just until her eyes caught the glimpse of the glimmering scenery of the exalakes and of an unfamiliar pair sitting on the grass-cladded hillside.
"Never burn bridges before you cross them. Remember that, Noxie ~"
Eyebrows furrowed at the rejection he received, followed by a soft scowl. Nox kept his claws and opted to stay quiet, remaining ever-so obedient to Astoria's decision despite how vaguely they could be. He averted his gaze away from the girl and instead focused on what was in front them; the backs of a yellow-haired human and a fan-tailed digimon. As they got closer, he began to wonder what kind of face his precious green-eyed monster would show today.
"Just how much I love the Digital World already." "It's not hard to love this world now, is it?" Astoria's delicate voice broke the serenity of the exalakes in hopes to catch the attention of the pair. A kind smile was drawn on her face while her eyes lingered on the panoramic landscape "It's not very common to see friends like you around here." Friends as in pertaining to the human. Nox could have sworn to have felt an urge to throw up-- he would get that every time he watched his human act as if she hadn't done any monstrous deed. Just plain gross.

The air was clean and the sights just about took his breath away. Justin, fully content to sit here and enjoy the view for a few moments, settled down and put his camera off to the side, answering his faithful companion after returning to reality. Well, his new reality. 'Just how much I love the Digital World.'
Reaver's mouth opened with the intent of uttering some witty remark, but instead of Reaver's harsh and usually pun laden voice, instead Justin's skin crawled at the sound of a woman behind him. Or at least a girl. Shocked at the human voice in such a remote place, he placed his camera down beside him and stood, shocked to see the young woman and her digimon. 'These two must be a tamer pair, like me and Reaver.' She seemed nice enough, although her Digimon seemed to put Reaver on edge. The Electric Digimon twitched his tail quietly.
"I've got to admit, I haven't seen much like it back in the, uh, real world."
He scratched at his chin nonchalantly before trying to think of a quick response to her comment. He didn't know her, and frankly didn't trust anyone living in New York, but he didn't want to be rude despite them not being friends. She must've meant being human, yes?
"I haven't run into another human yet in here. Til now, of course. Come to think of it, I haven't run into another one like us out in the real world either." The widely distributed Digimon policy was very random, it seemed. At least, if there were tons of tamers around, he certainly didn't get the memo for the club meetings.
"Hey lady!" Reaver asked, keeping an eye on the other Digimon.
"Oh dear." Words were already coming out of Reaver, he wouldn't really be able to stop the creature without shoving a battery down his throat.
"What brings you to the Exalakes?" The fan-tailed digimon kept a wary eye on the other creature but seemed to be legitimately curious about why such a nice dressed woman was out here all alone in the first place? Justin breathed a sigh of relief that Reaver wasn't about to dig a hole Justin would have to dig them both out of.
"Who knows? Maybe she just wanted to walk around and soak in the view. You can't interrogate every Digimon, and now human, we come across." The blonde man teased.
"Water you docking about? That shore is quite the accusation." When Reaver started up, Justin looked over apologetically at the woman and sighed.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to get him started. That's Reaver, and i'm Justin. Justin Pryce." He extended his hand for a handshake, completely oblivious to anything the woman may or may not be hiding. He wasn't crest of Detecting, after all.

| ❝ An amusing reaction lingered on the blond's face that almost made Astoria chuckle. How could he be so surprised? Was it that unusual to find someone else walking around the Exalakes? She had been to a few places in the digital world but the creatures that she had ran into didn't seem all that surprised, actually. In fact, if they weren't calling her Astoriamon, they were acting rather familiar with her. But, with that said, she had only been in the more docile areas of the world; nothing too extreme or anything of that sort. However, given how this part of the digital world would require one to take a discouraging road, it wasn't difficult to relate with his feelings.
As the young man explained his sides, the green-eyed would appear listening attentively, though half of her attention was focused on the little red digimon. An elecmon, huh? She had seen a few of their species around but this one's pretty cheeky. He seemed rather wary and watchful of her darling Nox, but who could blame him? Given the gazimon's inborn aura of intimidation, it wasn't strange if digimon and humans kept their guard up around him. Although, the rabbit-hybrid didn't look all that enthusiastic with the attention he was getting from the fan-tailed.
Just as the blond finished his statement, a call from his digimon stole what remained of Astoria's attention for the conversation. She cocked her head to his direction, curiosity reflecting on her eyes, then the question was thrown. Well, what a really adorable creature this digimon was. Nox seemed to have been thrown off by the question; an irritated look crawled across his face, though he managed to hide it by turning around immediately. The tamer could tell very well that he wasn't tolerating this. Too bad for him because they were staying, she needed connections with others like her.
Astoria wasn't given any chance to speak, well not after the blond offered his hand which, of course, she gladly took and softly shook. A string of gentle chuckles escaped her lips as she dismissed Justin's apology. There were no reasons to be sorry after all. The elecmon was just being himself "It doesn't bother me at all," She said "I'm Astoria Zenker" then, she turned to the gazimon who had his arms crossed on his chest "And this is Nox, a gazimon." The rabbit-eared sighed in defeat as he was introduced before placing his arms behind his head and shrugged "Hey," He simply greeted "Justin right? Can ya tell your digimon to stop checking me out. The kid's giving me the creeps." He said casually and rather arrogantly. "Nox," Astoria gently reprimanded before turning to the blond with an apologetic smile "He can be a bit rude but he's not really that bad." Yeah, right. Nox would second that anytime. Well, compared to her, he was definitely not 'really that bad'. But seriously, that move had probably earned him a slap later... eh, it was all worth it anyway.
