「 erase the voices of love 」
notes: digimental hunt
[attr="class","voices"]Being alone wasn't easy even how strong and ready you think you already were, Nox had to learn that the hard way. He didn't listen and persisted, now he had to face the consequence. In the depths of the Emerald Mangrooves, the gazimon found himself battered and bruised. Blood mixed with sweat, mud and rainwater dripped from his fur as he struggled to walk- dragging his right foot while tightly clutching his abdomen with one hand- his way out the jungle.
As he passed by an uneven path, his own reflection caught his attention. The surface was constantly rippling due to the rain but nonetheless he could himself bathing in filth and poor choices. He bit his lips at this and looked away only to find another clear puddling and his reflection staring back at him. He snarled at the water before proceeding but his determined face faded upon seeing the endless road he had to take.
He had to push himself, though; he chose this, he wanted this now he had to stand up for it. A few days ago, he and Astoria had a discussion that turned into a terrible argument. He could still hear her voice saying all those painful things, he could still see the way she looked down on him and could definitely still remember how she threw her digivice at him instead of hitting him after answering back with ugly words. He never meant to say those things-- he would never mean to do anything that would hurt her. But that day, his mind was clouded with anger.
"Look what we have here," Amidst the rain's steady rhythm, an unfamiliar voice emerged making him halt. The gazimon looked up, his drooping eyes scanning the creature before him. He clicked his tongue at the pair of vegiemon smirking at him. Instantly, he knew he was in for trouble; the smiles on those plant types' faces told everything, he should know that of all people. And as expected, he was right as the one the Vegiemon's tentacles whipped him off his feet.
Nox barely had any strength left to wince in pain, let alone stand up. He helplessly laid on the ground, holding the digivice tight and close to him. At his current state, he wouldn't last long. Perhaps a few more of those whips and he'd be a goner. Pathetic... this wasn't how he wanted to die-- if he would die, he'd do it for Astoria but she wasn't around. Nothing was around, not even his pride. He was alone and he was going to perish like that. He'd respawn sooner or later but what fate waited for him? He'd just be by himself again. The gazimon bit his lower lip, tears in guise of rain fell from his eyes as he accepted his bittersweet ending.
"You're finished little guy," The vegiemon laughed in a mocking manner "Bet you wish you didn't come to get our treasure, don't you?" Treasure? Nox was too exhausted to even care. Whatever these guys were talking about was none of his business. At least, he wanted to get killed with a clear head. But that was until a sound so out of place, forced a life into him. Loud and powerful moans filled the air followed by the vegiemon's frantic screams. Nox's eyes shot open, only to see a legion of ghost swarming towards the plant-types.
The gazimon's heart pounded in an unrecognizable rhythm; caught between hope, confusion and skepticism. What was happening? Was he saved? Who did this? All these questions flooded his brain but were instantly given answer when a hand touched his aching back. With the remaining strength he had, he looked up and though his vision was blurry, he recognized his savior. Black hair, green eyes and skin as white as snow-- he'd recognize those features anywhere. "Astoria... you... came back," Nox was cut midway when his tamer's slender arms wrapped around him, holding him in a motherly embrace "Shhh," The german whispered while tenderly stroking the back of his head.
It was heartwarming reunion but was shortly cut when the pair of vegiemon got back on the ground, both were angry and vengeful. The haunted box should have done the job but it wasn't enough, and Nox was obviously too exhausted to digivolve. Astoria's eyebrows furrowed as her eyes darted from left to right in attempt to find an escape. The gazimon quickly figured out their situation and now that he's back with his partner, he wouldn't let anything happen to her no matter what. No, especially not now that she came back to get him. Not now that she tried to protect him. Now now.
I need to protect her. I'll pay, I'll gamble. Just give me strength to fight for her.
The desperation- the need to protect Astoria- penetrated deep in his heart. He began to feel a strange sensation, an unfamiliar warmth bursting from within. The digivice he had been holding to blinked brightly in a fast manner as the words DIGIMENTAL DETECTED flashed on the screen. A nearby bush thick with wide leaves began to mysteriously glow as a blinding light slowly swallowed the injured gazimon. Astoria looked away with her eyes closed, unwrapping her arms off Nox. The light had gotten even brighter and bigger until everything suddenly calmed down and the next thing the german found was a giant quadroped skeleton with deep crimson eyes.
"Nox..." The creature let out an ear-piercing roar that was perhaps loud enough to be heard across the Emerald Mangroove. Birds swarmed away, bugs hid while both the vegiemon trembled in fear and were ready to flee. But, would they be able to outrun something with such long limbs? It only took a couple of steps for the metal digimon to reach the plant-types and unhesitatingly stepped on them, crushing them with every weight of his body. Both the strays pleaded for mercy- both tried to give an explanation- but the armor ultimate was deaf of their voices and words.
The onslaught reflected on Astoria's bright emerald orbs as she watched keenly, only averting her attention upon noticing her digivice when it made a beeping sound. Casually picking it up, she found herself staring at the screen where Nox's new form's information were displayed. SkullBalucchimon, an armor ultimate. Oh, how on earth did that happen? A smirk crept across the girl's face. It would be kept a secret; nobody had to know how that little fight was meant to drive Nox away, nobody had to know how she was already in possession of the digimental of love before these events, nobody had to know that she planned all of this to happen. Nox didn't have to know, after all everything was for his own good.
