APOLLOMON | SUPER MEGA |
DESCRIPTION Apollomon is a God Man Digimon. It is one of the "Olympos XII", and conceals a solar-class flame energy. This energy has the terrifying power to smelt all substances, and its almost heartless fervor and pride are barely restrained. PASSIVE ABILITIES ○ LIVING FURNACE - Apollomon is a living Digital representation of one of the Digital World's primordial elements: fire. As such, at any given moment, his body is anywhere from 150°C/302°F to 1,500°C/2,732°F. This has a number of effects; Apollomon's body houses enough thermal energy -- which is entirely renewable and endless -- to power an entire city, and in his presence allies will be calmed by his healing yet intense warmth, whilst enemies will suffer intense heatstroke and sunburn. Physical contact with Apollomon in an offensive capacity may cause Digimon of lower resilience to spontaneously combust. Apollomon actually has his own microclimate which will effect the heat and humidity around him in areas of up to 500m radius, but finally, and most simply: the flames he commands are able to burn through and incinerate, quite literally, anything -- meaning he ignores all fire resistances. ○ MY GOD IS THE SUN - The miniature sun Apollomon bears on a mantle upon his shoulders is second only to the real thing itself. Its epicentre is so ridiculously hot that not even Apollomon's own armour would survive being thrust into it. It is the source of all his power and a force of pure and unbridled energy. Allies of the Virus Busters and Dragon's Roar families, or of the Vaccine attribute that stare into the sun upon Apollomon's back will gain 50% additional offensive and defensive power, imbued with its legendary awe. Enemies, however, irrespective of family or attribute, that stare into the sun will find themselves demoralised, possibly fearful, and blinded by its all-encompassing brutal light. Neutral bystanders of the Vaccine attribute may feel obligated to fight alongside Apollomon should he be battling when they stare into it -- and lower-level Digimon may be scared off altogether. ATTACKS ○ HYPERION BLAST - The flames wreathed around Apollomon's arms are formidable. Hyperion Blast involves Apollomon lashing out with them at short to mid range and creating lance-like flame projectiles, as it were, or imbuing his slashes with this white-hot flames to instantaneously cauterise wounds he deals whilst dealing further damage. It does also have medical and practical applications, able to sear allies' bleeding wounds shut, or light the way with a wreath of lancing flame before him. Hyperion Blast's flames will linger in the surrounding area long after the attack is complete and can burn through all but the toughest of Digizoids. ○ THERMOBARIC LANCE - A high-calibre Digizoid cannon -- a modification courtesy of the war against the Seven -- has been fitted in compact form into Apollomon's armour. Laden upon his shoulder, he can crouch and allow it to extend, before firing the equivalent of a compacted incendiary explosive shell made of solid flame. When this "round" reaches its target -- and is capable of firing distances up to 2 kilometres away with reasonable accuracy -- it detonates with great explosive force and floods its surrounding area with rapturous fire. This has been used effectively as a siege weapon -- and was, in the last war -- but has a 1 post cooldown and cannot be fired at close range. ○ ETERNAL CONFLAGRATION - The Eternal Conflagration can be anywhere from instantaneous up to lasting for two posts. A firestorm of a radius anywhere up to 50 metres, the Eternal Conflagration can deflect all but the strongest attacks with ease -- providing Apollomon stays precisely at its epicentre exerting energy to maintain it. All attacks below Super Mega may be deflected with ease, but if two or three Super Mega attacks broach the field damage may slip through and reach Apollomon, and any allies the storm is protecting. Additionally, all enemies caught within the exterior will be launched outwards and suffer heavy fire damage. This attack has a cooldown equal to its duration, plus an additional post. ○ PYROCUMULUS - The sun upon Apollomon's shoulders dims ever so slightly, and the area around him begins to fill with thick, acrid smoke. The smokescreen itself is thick and effective at distances up to 100 metres outwards, but the residual haze of the smoke may move up to 300 metres outwards, and lasts for up to three posts. This smoke is obfuscating and will obscure the natural vision of all humans and most Digimon -- those with specific vision abilities or thermal/infrared vision will be able to pierce it. However, the smoke itself swiftly fills the lungs of those caught within it, causing harsh coughing fits in most and resultant pain, typically impeding progress through the smoke. Digimon of DNA Mega and below will take damage dependent upon their level, whereas Rookies and below may immediately be deleted if caught in a particularly strong pocket of the smoke. Pyrocumulus has a five post cooldown. ○ PROMETHEAN CURSE - The Promethean Curse requires Apollomon to be within reasonable melee range of his target, but his ability to charge and sprint should not be underestimated. Whilst the Promethean Curse itself does no damage, providing melee contact is made, even just a brush, it will leave a swirling orange mark -- in the shape of a sphere, or a sun -- wherever contact has been made. Every post, the target will take fire damage, increasing slightly from post to post -- and it will be tailored to level. Promethean Curse has no max duration or cooldown, but will never kill an enemy -- it may bring them to within an inch of their life, but cannot finish them off. It can, however, only effect one target at any given moment, and targets can only be changed after three turns have passed since it was previously changed, or the ability first used. Leaving the thread will cause Promethean Curse to expire. ○ ORPHEAN WHIM - A song upon the wind; from beneath the earth, from its molten mantle, Apollomon wrenches up anywhere either five, ten, fifteen, or twenty Orphean Constructs. These are all beings of pure, intangible flame who take on roughly humanoid appearance, and each one may be used in a number of ways.
