Name of Mission: Making Acquaintances

Reward Offered: 500 bits (150 bits bonus if you exceed the requested help)

Plot Description: Most of Terabyte City has already been rebuilt in the wake of the attack. But more unnoficial ventures such as Gabby's daycare center for Baby digimon has not. Owing to this, she decided to hire a few helpful tamers to help fix that. This mission will involve no combat at all, but simply helping some other hardy digimon with the building efforts. It's a good place to meet new tamers and digimon, ideal for low ranked tamers.

Mission Description: Help Gabby rebuild her Daycare center, new and improved!

Objective Summary:

• Meet Gabby
• Help Build the Digi daycare (15 player posts to complete)
• Optional Objective: Build unrequested additions such as playgrounds, etc (5 additional posts)

It was a beautiful day in Terabyte city, the main reason why Yana had decided to come here today. At this point, she hardly ever remembered the gruesome sights that greeted her the first time she visited it and now treated the city as a hub for activity in the digital world. There were always new tamers and Digimon going about their business, as well as some of the usual faces she saw just about every single day. Some of them already knew her and waved as they passed by, which both tamer and Digimon alike returned in kind. Indeed, they had probably joined the rank of the familiar faces these past few days; not that they really minded.



The last few times she was here, Yana had ran into Haru... Even now she thought about that girl more often than not, as they had had quite a few unique experiences in the past few days, some of which still made her blush. But Ari's giggles brought her back to reality. She was looking silly wasn't she...? Probably, "What is it?", she asked, frowning slightly



"Nothing~", Ari dismissed



This happened a few more times amidst their walk, but no Haru, not even Rei or Sebastian either. She could only hope all of them were doing alright, last she checked they were all still marked and the latter two weren't dealing too well with it. But before long she had something better to focus on as she saw a gabumon putting up a sign in a bit of levelled land that clearly hadn't been worked on during the rebuilding efforts. This was a rather deserted part of Terabyte city which was why people had probably missed it... But once Yana took a look at the sign she was thoroughly shocked. This Gabumon... Needed help to rebuild a Daycare?!? Why hadn't anybody gotten to it?!



"That's Gabby.", Ari explained, reading the sign but not looking nearly as surprised, "She probably wanted to make it better than it was before, and few would help her with that... Hiring an actual constructor would cost more than what she's offering..."

Today was another temperate day that seamed to make most relax or slow down and enjoy the day. The faint smells of flowers were even on the wind. Until the silence is broken by a Patamon's voice "Come on Yusuke, you know your bad with directions.... Why didn't you at least spend some bits on a city map?" asked a very confused Crystal as she flew beside her trainer "I mean, sure you might want to be independent, but I'm stuck with you now too!" "Weren't you the one who chose me to be your trainer?" asked the blond teen as he followed the road towards the damaged part of the city... He had an urge to check this place out, and the recently attacked areas might be a good place to start.


"Yeah I was, but I'm starting to regret that decision..." she yawned as she flew, not really seaming that interested in most of the stuff going on around here. "Look, I have a feeling we'll gave your next form-" "Digivolution" "What ever... Your going to get stronger soon, that's what I meant..."

All of a sudden the Patamon cried out "Look out!" as Yusuke's head collided with a wooden ladder, and knocked a Digimon off that was setting up a sign for help. As Yusuke gets up from the fall, he cant help but notice both the Digimon who's work he disturbed and Yana, along with her partner Ari. Yusuke blushed as he wiped the dust off his legs, and then turned towards the poor Gabumon that he knocked over.
"Are you alright?" he asked, offering his hand to help the Digimon up. Whether his offer was taken or not, he turns to Yana and her partner "Fancy meeting you two here." "Yeah! What's going on?" the Patamon flew much closer to the two, in a friendly way.

Degas wandered around the ruined city. Efforts to rebuild were underway. He had never visited this place before in his travels. He could imagine it being beautiful....once. Now it was ugly and the construction teams everywhere were just annoying.

He ducked under a plank. Honestly They needed to pick up the pace. Who knew how many were without homes. He only wished he had been there when it all began,

"What so you could keep the place beautiful? His inner demon thought. Or should he say spirit.

"No, so I could have had fun. You know how I like inflicting pain." He responded mentally. It had taken some practice to master that.

His eyes wandered yet again over the ruined buildings. He noticed one utterly ruined and nothing was being done about it. A couple of tamers stood outside. The twisted heap of metal he could only guess was monkey bars at one time. This place must have been a daycare.

"Honestly." He breathed to himself.

His inner demon cackled. He ignored it and started walking up. He could help out and make the place lovely again. Leave a piece of him behind. Like someone making history....though it wouldn't be as glorious.

Generally he would have passed such a place up. However a part of him had a soft spot for kids. The little rodents needed a cage to stay in while their parents were out working anyway. He wasn't exactly good with them but he tolerated them well enough.

"Oi, if you two got time to chat. You got time to work." He says smiling as he approached.

"Just point me where I am needed. My evolution has great claws for digging." Degas continued. He wouldn't bother with introductions. Odds were against him ever really caring or meeting them again outside this.

[Hamelin Herriot]

It was dark. It was warm. A nice, cozy little place to rest. Granted, being inside of a digitama was always nice and warm, but being inside a digitama inside of a tamer's satchel (digi-ception?) was extra comfy. It was hard to believe that not that long ago, this digitama was once a vicious little digimon who was out to murder others in order to gain strength, a demented little Toy Agumon by the name of Gepetto. An encounter with Yana, along with some of her friends, had reduced the manic digimon to a digitama.

However, the problem didn't stop there. Whatever twisted darkness that had infected this little digimon, had moved on to another, his own tamer, Hamelin. That was why he was now nestled in this bag instead of with him. Not that the digimon within was aware of this. However, that was about to change.

Yana may notice the bag starting to shift, the digitama inside shifting around. It was becoming time for this digimon to reawaken, once again pure from the darkness that had twisted its form once before.

As she looked around the place, Yana eventually noticed a familiar blonde figure, accompanied by another orange colored flying figure that only made it more familiar, "Yusuke...!", she called out shyly, waving at the boy and hoping to get his attention. Of course she might have done a bit more than that. Perhaps it wasn't even her fault, but Yana clearly though so as the distracted Yusuke suddenly collided with Gabby's portable stairs as she was busy putting up her signs. Yana winced at the loud crash, before dashing over to help with Ari in tow, "Likewise...", she nodded happily, promtly helping Gabby stand up, raiding her stairwell back up "Ouch...", she complained, rubbing her head with obvious annoyance, "Geez, pay more attention will you?" She was surprisingly pleasant even when clearly upset, a natural trait for a caretaker such as herself, "I don't suppose you two are looking for some work?" "You could just let them rebuilt your daycare as it was before you know...", Ari commented; fully aware Gabby had been at her improvements for a good while now. The Gabumon simple nodded negatively, clearly unhappy with how hard it was to get people to help her build a better daycare. If she got it back up in older state (too small for the amount of babies she had), nobody would ever do anything about it. Apparently she didn't really earn any bits by taking care of the Fresh and In training level digimon... The two Digimon talked a bit more about how it might be better to have a small daycare than none, and there they stood until another new face showed up. A rather motivated young tamer (even if he lacked a Digimon partner), who made Gabby's face light up with joy, "That's the spirit!! You two kids should learn from this man!", the Gabumon would cheer, immediately getting to work and pointing at some iron bars, "Everyone, help me lay down these foundations!" The kind yet commanding Gabumon and the incredibly motivated red haired man were more than enough to get Yana and Ari working before they even knew what had gotten into them other than a keen desire to help. The girl was far from being physically imposing, but with Ari's help she managed to slowly carry the iron bars where Gabby wanted them, as the Caretaker herself looked over a (rather short) wooden table with some blue prients. "Alright, you two, put those bars over there!", she commanded, before going over to help. In the meantime, as Yana did her work, she couldn't help feel something stir within her satchel. Wiping the sweat off her face, she opened it, and much to her surprise she found Gepetto's egg stirring! Smiling in joy for a brief moment, she wondered what kind of Digimon would be born now that he'd been purified, but this thought made her sad soon enough as she remembered what had happened to his tamer... Poor baby... Regardless, she might have looked rather wierd simply staring at her open satchel like that... But she didn't care. Yana just pet the egg softly, sighing and feeling sad for the innocent life inside, "Poor thing..." Player posts: 2 (Ham's doesn't count cause he's an egg)

[Eddy]

Eddy bounced around Terabyte City, his metal lower region claking against the ground as he moved. Though usually not caring about such things, Eddy couldn't help but stare at the semi-broken city. His eyes often lingering upon all the construction sites. Upon all the destruction. He had never really heard of Terabyte City, nor the event that has befallen on it. One thing was for certain, however. It was big. Eventually Eddy found himself going through a much more deserted part of the city. It was even worse than what he seen before. There was almost no life except for some scavengers here and there, along with normal people trying to rebuild the structures by themselves. It was sad to be frank, and even Eddy felt sorrow for these people. Thus, it didn't take long for to find this sad little pile of rubble. A sign read something about Daycare, and there were a few people and digimon trying to rebuild here and there. Eddy, feeling rather helpful for once and knowing he would get paid, approached the former daycare and the Gabumon.

"I'll help ya out if you gimme somethin' to work with." He said with a shrug.

Brennan strolled through Terabyte City leisurely, looking for something or another to do, after all, he was extremely bored. "Everyone, help me lay down these foundations!" He heard someone yell, and while Brennan was not generally one for intense physical work, he figured he'd help rebuild, why not, right? So he walked in the direction he had heard the yell come from, and was met with a group of people. Some humans, some Digimon, and, so it would seem, a Gabumon commanding people. It seemed as though this had once been a daycare, but now it was just a sad pile of rubble, waiting for someone or another to rebuild it. Buildings do not just rebuild themselves, to Brennan's experience. Then again, this was the Digital World, and Brennan was not exactly sure if buildings did rebuild themselves here... Well, there was only one way to find out.

He looked at Dora, his partner Digimon, and the purple dinosaur-like creature nodded, so Brennan walked up to the Gabumon and said, "Hey there," He said to the Gabumon, "Would you happen to need any more help? Me and my partner, Dora, would be more than willing to help you out." He said with a smile, and Dora nodded, though he was too shy to actually talk at all.

Degas beamed at the Gabumons praise. He watched them doing the heavy lifting which was good in his opinion. He disliked heavy labor. 

"Spirit Evolution." He said softly. His figure shortened and he grew thick grey fur and really long claws and teeth. He shuffled his shoulders getting use to the feeling.

Gazimon X wouldn't have been his first choice. It was rather ugly he supposed.

Who you calling ugly. His inner demon said. He just laughed and began digging at the marked posts creating an inlet for them to pour concrete and lay the foundation.

His long claws while akward at everything else were perfect for churning the dirt. It wasn't long before there was a pile surrounding the outer rim.

Geez....who's the demon now. his inner demon said. The ground should be terrified of you. You tear through it like there is no tomorrow.

Degas rolled his eyes at himself. Honestly, his other half was such a brute. His thoughts turned to the poles. How were they going to hold them up in the concrete til they were set into place? That was something he couldn't help with. Not with his short...non-flying form. Why didn't he have wings like that cute little orange puffball.

Patamon his other half corrected. He stuck his tongue out and brought it back in quickly hoping no one noticed. Still though he'd die just for a chance to be cute.

That can be arranged... His inner demon said laughing. He really needed to find a way to block this thing off. He thought but still smiled finding it humorous just the same.

"Oi, the quicker its done the quicker it is open." He said pointing to the cement truck. He jumped out of the inlet and sat on top of the dirt pile his tail wagging. He was pleased with himself.

[Hamelin Herriot]

The digitama shook and stirred within the satchel, before suddenly there was a soft cracking sound. Cracks formed along the shell, rapidly growing bigger before the egg seemed to burst in a small spray of eggy shrapnel. The satchel shook before suddenly, out popped a small form. A zurimon. The tiny digimon took in a loud gasp, sucking in the fresh air after spending all that time in the satchel. The small digimon blinked, looking around. Where was he? It appeared to be some sort of construction site in a city, but just what was going on? The small digimon turned around, looking at the black haired girl who's bag he had been nestled in.

"Hello there," the little digimon spoke up, "I'm Oceanis, pleased to meet you." He blinked and then looked around. "Um, where am I?"

Zachary and Panthermon arrived in the city rather late. They didn't know how it would look like but it was in a state of disarray-- similar to Triton city. Interested in helping out, Zachary suggested to Panthermon that they try to led a helping hand in the reconstruction and rebuilding of the city and its resources.

They had heard the news about a group of digimon helping out rebuild homes for the baby digimon that lived here, under the guidance and care of another elder digimon. As they approached the reconstruction area, Zachary and Panthermon took note to the little digimon scurrying around. They were all so jubilant and immediately started hopping up and down at their presence.

"Bouncy little creatures, aren't they?" Panthermon replied, looking at them. The baby digimon seemed to take interest in Panthermon, despite Panthermon's rather neutral expression. He was not as 'warm and fuzzy' despite his jungle cat appearance, but he had a firm disposition that didn't make him easy to come off as the nurturing type.

Zachary on the other hand, smiled as he saw the little digimon oogle up at them. Approaching the others, Zachary waved at them. "HI there, sorry for arriving so late," Zachary said, greeting the digimon in charge and with the other humans helping out. "My name is Zachary and this is my friend, Panthermon. We been doing reconstruction in Triton and thought we could help out here. Need any help?" Zachary offered.

After learning about the extra need to build a playground and extra areas for the baby digimon, Zachary smiled. "We can help with the playground, Right Panthermon?" Zachary asked his partner.

"Uh... well, sure ... I guess," he said, a bit nervous as he saw a few baby digimon bouncing near him. One even tried to jump onto his tail, liking his it swished around. If Panthermon wasn't black as night-- he would be blushing behind his black fur.

Gabby's day just kept getting better!! Not long after the others had finally started working did yet more assistance arrive to help, with Ari noticing this was exactly what Gabby was looking for and why she was so desperate to get at least one or two workers: She knew that others would follow by example. First came an apparently lone Digimon, a Candlemon. There were indeed many buildings still razed from the battle, but no doubt a day care with humans and Digimon working on it stood out most of all. Only a few feet behind him came a tamer accompanied by a Dorumon, and the two approached Gabby with a rather small interval, "Yes, yes, the more the merrier; thank you all for your help!!", She'd say with a cheerful look, immediately dropping a pile of logs in each of their hands: Eddy, Brennan and Dora "The foundations are all but ready with so many people on them, now I need others to help me build the walls!", with this, Gabby pointed towards the freshly dug lines on the ground, signalling where the walls would be once all this was over. The cement truck was also ready so they'd be able to do both things in quick succession, "We'll build the lower half of the walls out of cement, then the upper half and roof out of wood!" Indeed creating a wooden house was far easier than attempting to make one of bricks and concrete; making it a far more accessible building even without expert Contractor or construction workers. Meanwhile, Yana had quite literally something else on her hands: The egg she was petting stirred a bit more before finally cracking open as a Zunimon came right out. The loving tamer's eyes brightened quite visibly as she took the newborn in her hands and petted it, "How cute~!! I'm Ari!", the Gatomon promptly introduced herself, petting Zunimon a bit more. "And I'm Yana. Nice to meet you~!", Yana introduced herself too, before lifting Zunimon slightly so it could better look at his surroundings, "This is Terabyte city! We're trying to build a daycare for fresh Digimon like you.", She'd explain, before remembering there was a job she needed to be doing, "You're too small to do any building though, so you should go play with the other babies!", she urged the newborn, happy that he'd actually been born in a daycare. Perhaps one of them should be entertaining the babies? It seemed like they could entertain themselves well enough. Meanwhile Yana had completely missed Degas' transformation and simply assumed a Gazimon had come by to help, and promptly waved at the boy with the panthermon who had just come over, "Hi Zach! You're just in time to help with the cement!", Yana would say before putting on gloves and heading over to the smaller cement mixing thingy... Gabby went over to help the two, filling the half wall-sized frameworks, which would allow them to build the wooden half walls above while the cement dried up... Player posts: 6

The almost instant appearance of at least five more helpers, a mix of both humans and Digimon, came out of the woodwork almost declaring themselves helpers, which surprised both the teen and his Patamon partner. "Wh-where's all these people coming from?" asked the Patamon, clearly confused about the situation "They must have been planning to help for a while now..." Yusuke said, smiling, he then walks over to where there was a large empty area, and looks at the materials at hand... There were enough people working on the main building, so he figured he could set up a play-place for the little's. "Crystal, head over there and get me a few tools please?" he asked as he started setting up a few see-saws...

A few minutes later his work was ground to a halt as a young Digimon jumped into his lap and asked what he as doing...
"I'm busy trying to set up a playground for you little ones. Please move out of the- Hey! Get back here!" another baby Digimon had come by while he was talking to this one, and stole the hammer he was using. Thankfully one see-saw was already finished by this time, but Yusuke was now chasing the slightly faster "thief", and being chased by a large swarm of young Digimon...
Crystal couldn't do anything but laugh, a strangely refined laugh, as her trainer noticed his followers and now was running not to be trampled by the young ones...

[Eddy]

Eddy stared blankly at the logs that had been placed in his arms before looking back up at the Gabumon, listening to her and watching as she resumed doing her work. It was probably....maybe.....possibly a bad time to mention it but...Eddy had no knowledge on how to build a wall. None at all. Yet, the Gabumon had already agreed to pay him for his services. "God....dammit Eddy..." He mumbled as he looked about for a hammer and a few nails. He fumbled about the entire site, seemingly unnoticed by the Gabumon and some of the helpers. Though it took rather long (too long for most) Eddy eventually managed to find some laying about. Feeling rather proud of himself, the Candlemon grabbed the tools and began to head to back....only to step on a shovel. It quickly flew up and struck him right on the face. Muffling his yell with his hands, he dropped all he had gathered. Silencing what many curses he had to say, he slowly picked back up the tools and the wood and resumed hopping off back to where they were making the wall. "How hard c-" Eddy was about to say as he tried to begin nailing some wood....only for the hammer to break straight through. Gritting his teeth, he slowly took another piece of wood and, much more gently, began nailing it, managing to make of the wall.

Degas watched those with wood start to build the walls. It was painstaking it seemed. Especially for a small candle digimon. He wanted to laugh at him. His pin giving him some joy.

Candlemon, his inner demon said. Was everything named after what they looked like. I look nothing like my name. That was because he was a made up dog thing. This earned a huff from his inner demon and made him snort and chuckle.

He jumped off his dirt pile perch. There were children chasing one of the tamers around an he watched amused. He positioned himself and caught the baby with the hammer. He took it away and watched the baby digimon start to tear.

"You know this part ment to take out nails." He said pointing to it. "I watched a movie once where it was driven into a guys head and killed him. You shouldn't run with sharp things kid...it might just kill ya." He said smiling slightly despite his words. Which only scared the baby more and it fled.

You have quite the touch with children. his inner demon said and they both laughed. He looked back to the tamer who seemed to be quite busy playing with the children. Honestly, he huffed and shook his head. He headed over to the Patamon. 

"Looks like your tamer is having fun." he said sitting beside the patamon. "Honestly though shouldn't he be working."

And the chidren in a cage he thought to himself. They would get hurt without a doubt. Board to the head, nail in the....body, smushed by a board, fallen in concrete.....nah it was better this way. He more than likely get a laugh now that he thought about it.

Morbid. His inner demon said making him shrug.

"So you need help building the playground?" He could dig holes for beams. Monkey bars, slides...whatever needed to be set in the ground. His claws could also cut wood and maybe metal. He hadn't tried going through metal before.

Whew, this was pretty hard work... but Brennan and Dora were determined to help this Gabumon, Gabby was her name. As the cement was poured to create the lower half of the wall, Brennan and Dora began to build the upper half of the wall both holding a hammer and some nails. "Hey, Dora, would you mind Armor Digivolving, so you can begin to build the ceiling?" Dora nodded, and Brennan held out his orange Digivice, "It's time, Dora." Dora nodded confidently in response.

"Dorumon Armor Digigolves to... Jetdramon!" Dorumon's body began to glow, then it grew, more than 14 feet tall. Silver armor clamped around the body, and Jetdramon began to hover in the air, nailing some of the longer wooden beams to the ceiling, easily fastening a couple of logs to the top of the daycare, beginning to build a ceiling.
