It should have been a good day... Yana had discovered a new city in the digital world, met new people, made new friends, and even made Ari digivolve into Nefertimon for the first time. But she couldn't bring herself to smile. Not like this... No matter how positive a person, she couldn't see any bright side about all this destruction. Maybe they had stopped the Skullgreymon's rampage before it could destroy more... But they still couldn't keep innocent people and digimon from losing their lives. The only thing to do now was try to do their best to correct that mistake, whatever they could. But though part of it had been the tamer's fault for their inability to stop these missiles, everyone knew the bulk of the blame still fell on the shoulders of the mysterious force that put the SKullgreymon back together. Even after they shattered it to pieces, something bound it back together, forced it to carry out this dreadful task, the same force that branded behind her neck - she couldn't see the brand but she could feel it throb, even Ari could sense its presence - and one thing was certain, whoever did this wasn't finished yet. Yana wandered around as the sun was setting, helping some lone digimon clear away the destruction (Ari helped, within reason), but there was only so much they could do by themselves. Soon they might join up with a few other tamers to help the real rebuilding effort, and until then, there was something else they had to do: "This is bad, Ari... With the walls like this, anybody can come inside." Now back in her Gatomon form, Ari was all but healed up. Nefertimon was light on the data and using that form didn't weaken her too much, which was even better with how powerful it was in group battles like that one.

WHEN SHE WAS JUST A GIRL, SHE EXPECTED THE WORLD

A part of her was glad she avoided this conflict. The other part was ashamed she did not partake to help defeat the monster that nearly destroyed the city. Juliette didn't think she would be of that much help anyway: The last time she assisted in a situation similar to this one she was knocked out unconscious by a single blow from a rookie Digimon. If that wasn't humiliating, she didn't know what was.

But that wasn't the reason why she avoided this conflict. She was in Terabyte City by the time news came to her about Triton City. She and Grace arrived to the scene as fast as they could, but it was too late and they were left with the aftermath instead. Bodies laid strewn all over the ground-- humans and Digimon alike. It broke her heart knowing that she could have intervened. Grace was remorseful and eerily quiet as well. Julie guessed her companion wanted to help out too, and a regret soon consumed her being.

"Hey," she said softly to Grace. "Let's see what kind of help we can do now that we are here..." Grace nodded quietly and wandered up ahead and Julie quietly followed.

Ari and Yana just kept on walking around the destroyed part of triton, not really sure as to what they might be looking for, but hopefully they would all learn what that was once they did find it. And that was indeed what happened. After a while of walking around and helping wherever they could, they ran into two familiar silhouettes: "Oh...? You...", Yana uttered from a few feet back, calling out to Julliete who by all acounts probably didn't recognize her, "You were in Terabyte city, right? At that time." This pink haired girl... She looked stunning, enough to make even Yana blush and adjust her glasses as she turned her gaze down to look at her partner. While Ari was kind but playfully mischievous, the other Salamon seemed just as angelic, but twice as graceful and without none of the impish nature. It was an interesting contrast that would have been even more interesting if Ari was still a Salamon. The gatomon did try to reach out to the other Digimon back in Terabyte city, when they were both Salamon, but wound up having to protect Yana before they were able to exchange any words. "I hope your recovery went well.", Ari just smiled sweetly, remembering how they had found the girl wounded and passed out. Attempting to protect her got the pair into a fight against a BlackGuilmon which they managed to defeat, but not without struggle. They say no bond is stronger than one with the comrades who fight beside you, but truthfully Yana had no interest in reliving those memories and likely the pink haired girl didn't either... The other girl dressed a bit more finely than Yana did, who by all accounts just looked a tall but otherwise average schoolgirl. She was still wearing her uniform, complete with a plaid skirt and a red jacket, and scholarly glasses she often had to adjust...

They wandered through the debris and dust that littered the city. Julie coughed in protest every once in a while, but she was alright. She would occasionally look over at her partner in concern, who continued to be eerily quiet throughout their walk. "Are you alright?"  she would ask and Grace would only nod in reply. Maybe she didn't trust herself to speak. Maybe she felt no words could describe they mayhem they barely let escape them. Maybe she was mourning for the lost in her own way. Whatever the reason may be, Julie felt the strong urge to scoop the Salamon in her arms and cuddle her close. Grace eagerly cozied herself in the teenager's embrace. Maybe that was what she needed.

She heard a shout and the Salamon in her arms grew tense. Julie turned around to spot an unfamiliar pair of faces. The little one was an adorable Digimon who has seemed to spike Grace's interest. Her tail wagged in Julie's arms but she made no other attempt to greet her. Her partner was a tall beauty who looked roughly around her age. She looked intelligent and sure, the kind of girl Julie would be otherwise too awkward and unsure to speak with. Here was her chance now to make a full of herself.

"Yes... we were there," replied Julie who fought the urge to feel the small bump that rested on her head. Her cheeks flushed a tint of red as she recalled the embarrassing incident and she hoped the other girl and her partner were not there to see her fail miserably.

...And then her hopes were shattered. The cute Digimon she had not seen before wished her well as far as injuries go, and Julie smiled politely in response. "It is healing well, thank you for your concerns," she replied politely and with a thick, English accent. She looked to the Digimon again and then to the Tamer and decided to introduce both her and Grace who sat quietly in her arms, eyes transfixed on what she would learn later as a Gatomon.

"I'm Juliette Llewellyn, and this here is Grace," she motioned to the small Salamon in her arms. The duo had yet to encounter another Salamon-centered Digimon and while Juliette had no idea where Gatomon came from, Grace knew and was in awe of the Gatomon they would later know as 'Ari'.

"Pleased to meet you both," said Grace with a small smile.

Yana only remembered seeing this girl knocked out on the pavement, she didn't arrive in time to see how she got there; even now she didn't know how many enemies the girl had faced to end up like that, but given her state she presumed there hadn't been that many. Most likely, she was just inexperienced - not unlike Yana herself was - and if not for Haru being there, she too would have paid for her inexperience in a similar manner. The girl had a rather inconspicuous british accent hinting to her heritage; while Yana's didn't really leave any hint to hers. She had to master both Russian and Japanese, far more difficult languages than English, and she'd had plenty of training with all three. This girl, Juliette, seemed just as shy and gentle as Yana herself was, which ultimately made the Russian tamer relate to her even more. She flashed a kind, and loving smile, nodding, "Happy to hear it...! I'm Sekigawa Yana...", she returned her own name, absently giving her surname first as was norm for a polite Japanese girl. Biracial as she may be, Yana had still lived the past few years in Japan. "...And I'm Ari!", she smiled and winked playfull at the other two girls, "Likewise~!" With introductions out of the way, however, Yana couldn't help let out a half frustrated, half disappointed sigh as she looked around and saw the destruction. This was the second time she ran into Juliette and both of those times had been battles, "Shame we only run into each other at times like these...", relating to Juliette's shyness and still interested in getting to know her, Yana tried to make some small talk to help put her at ease, "...How long have you been in this world?" Meanwhile, the two Digimon would have their own topics to talk about, and the Gatomon had a much easier time with meeting new people than Yana did. Most of all, she was curious about Grace who she'd met when they were both Salamon, but never got a chance to talk to: "Wow, It's not often I get to meet another Salamon!", Ari commented, walking over to Grace and chatting with a curious look in her eyes, cocking her head slightly, "Have you digivolved beyond that form?" Did Grace digivolve into Gatomon too? Or maybe she had a different form?

Even though Yana tried her hardest to overcome her shyness and speak to the pink haired girl it seemed like she was having a really hard time doing the same. Perhaps the memories of all the recent wars were still too fresh in her mind, or perhaps she just wasn't interested (Yana really hoped it wasn't teh latter case). Regardless of which of these was the real problem, Yana eventually decided not to push her case, looking around at all teh destruction and remembering all of that would need fixing as soon as possible. Even now she had no idea of the events that would transpire with Neptunemon and who would come to rule Triton City soon enough, but even then the citizens were blameless in all this. The fault laid solely in the Dark forces who involved them in it, "I guess we can t-talk more later...", Yana muttered shyly, cocking her head down and looking up at the girl, fiddling with her phone. Juliette's digivice would soon ping as she'd recieve Yana's contact information, "See you around...!" Hopefully she'd have better luck talking to her next time. [exit to archive] Using Metal detector, I WANT MY FUCKING PEANUTS!!
