[Virus Resistance] Battle Synopsis▪ ▪ 67% Experience until Ult:202/300 Posts▪ | What place was this...?! What was it with Yana and finding herself in such scroching places like this? First it was the Savannah, now it was this Volcano? She really had an awful stroke of luck when it came to randomly logging in to the digital world, and even Ari wasn't too eager to explore the Giygan Volcano. She was rarely as hesitant as she was now but even then she trudged forward alongside her tamer, though not before issuing a warning: "Be carfeul, Nana-chan!!", Ari warned her tamer as she began walking into the cave, "They say a monster lives here, stronger than any Digimon! If will kill us a lot faster than the heat will, so If we see it, we have to get out okay?" Yana actually shivered at these words... A m-monster...?! Here?! She couldn't help think back to the Gorillamon and wonder what she might do if something similar happened again, with a tougher enemy. Gorillamon was not only within Ari's ability to fight, but his evil actions were driven from passion and misguided vengeance instead of pure, unadultered cruelty, like the attack on Terabyte city. If the same thing happened again, they might not be so lucky... Hesitant or not, Ari was apparently confident that they would have time to run away from the monster, after all the number of people who'd come back to tell the tale was still relatively large. They all owed their survival to running faster than the wind could carry them, so that should naturally work for them too. Regardless, Yana found herself frozen in her tracks before she even realized, cold sweat running down her forehead as Ari turned back, "Nana-chan...? What's the matter, do you want to get back?" At this, Yana shook her head and slowly stepped forth. No... She wouldn't cower away at a simple rumour. Whatever laid ahead couldn't be all that bad, at least not worse than the mass of steam and pyroclasts shooting upwards from the volcano. The lava flew from the side of the mountain as far as the eye could see, on the opposite end. Perhaps that was why this side of the mountain was still mostly inact, complete with a full cave system, once mor according to the rumours... The two girls wandered inside, still enjoyed a modicum of light from the outisde and a few holes at the the top of the cave. The initial parts of this exploration were uneventful for the most part. Yana did get a good look at volcanic formations from up close and personal, the kind of which she'd have to travel miles to see in the real world. How amazing was the Digital World?! Almost enough to make her forget that unpleasant rumour and this overheated air that made the whole thing feel like a sauna. But then, she found something interesting amidst all the rocks: "Ooooh!! Ari, look!", Yana called out, finding a red digi-egg on the ground, with a gleefully curious look in her eyes, "I wonder what kind of Digimon is inside!" "Hmm... That doesn't look like any egg I've ever seen.", observed the puzzled Gatomon, stopping in her tracks and approaching, before shrugging as she looked around, "It looks abandoned. You could take it with you." Yana nodded in agreement as she picked up the small egg and stored it inside her satchel. It was pretty big but it still fit inside without breaking the whole thing at the seams, something the Russian Girl was thankful for. It felt warm... Warmer than she'd expect when she got around to touch it. Regardless, this was about the only interesting thing they saw in this cave. Not even a hint of a monster of any kind, something to support all of those dreadful rumours. Nothing happened... ------------------------------ But as they moved deeper into the cave and Yana started relying on her Digivice and Gatomon's ring glow to help see further ahead, something unexpected happen... Well, in a way she shouldn't really call it unexpected... But as the ground started quaking more frequently, she knew something was up. Of course they were inside a Volcanic mountain, of course the constant eruptions cause occasional quakes. But this frequently, with this pattern... And the way it gradually got stronger. No matter how she looked at, this felt like something massive was walking towards them!! It was enough for the two girls to slow down, looking on forward as the saw two glowing dots, looking spookily like a pair of eyes, "Nana-chan...", whispered Ari, "This is the part where we run like hell." Yana's knees quievered weakly, even as she nodded affirmatively to Ari's comment yet she couldn't... She couldn't run like this... Rumours they may be, but all she saw before here were a pair of lights and a lot of smoke: They could barely see the monster... The dim lighting didn't help, all the smoke much less so, but even then. Was running from something nobody had ever seen really all she could do? Smoke or no smoke, Yana tried her best to take a deep breath and relax, "We're not running... What are we even running from?!", she called out, addressing not only Ari but whatever presence may be Gritting her teeth, she tried to stave off the overwhelming dread of the presence before them. She could swear she heard a laughter at her words, but it didn't bother her anymore than the eerie, steaming presence, "ARI!! HEAVEN'S KNUCKLE!!!", Yana called out, swallowing her dread as she commanded Ari to go forth, looking on attentively as her partner - inspired by her behavior - followed suit and pounced forward, attacking the twin set of eyes with a glimmering fist. In the end she cried out in pain as she found her hand ablaze, but what struck them both as wierd was how there was nothing behind those eerie, eye like lights! After rolling on the ground for a while, Ari managed to put out the flame on her paw, but she was separated from Yana, with a faintly visible figure between the two. Swallowing air, Yana raised her digivice. Where it had scanned nothing before, right now they had enough of an outline to detect the presence before her as a digimon: "So, you didn't run away huh...? COlor me impressed!", the voice chuckled as its owner stepped forth, fully revealing himself, "But even then... What else can you do about this body?!" A flaming body... Meramon?!? Still, even if this wasn't a monster, no way Ari could get close or even strike that thing without getting herself burned. Not for lack of attempt, Ari still attempted to bravely slash at the digimon in front of her, but to no avail. This would be difficult. Was this really all they would do?! Yana challenged her own fear and went as far as discovering this "monster" was but a champion level digimon, but would that be her limit? Meramon didn't even bother attacking... His flaming body did all the damage he needed to a physical fighter like Gatomon who had no ranged attacks. But then, even as running away seemed like the only option, something else came to the rescue. A glimmering light from her satchel. If that weren't enough, Ari started glowing too, and for once, both tamer and Digimon's instincts knew what to do. Pulling out the egg, Yana held it high up in the air alongside her digivice, watching as the crest of courage became visible and it transformed into a Digimental. Gatomon understood the message even better, allowing the power to flow through her, "Gatomon Armor Digivolves to... LYNXMON!!" Lynxmon: Ari... At this point Yana could do nothing but leave the rest to her partner. The violent flames erupting from the egg didn't hurt Yana or Ari, they simply enveloped the latter, coating, empowering, enhancing. When the transformation was complete, the humanoid Meramon faced the catlike Lynxmon: Fire against fire. Neither could burn the other but Meramon - used to scaring his enemies off one way or another - could do utterly nothing in the face of flame powered Lynxmon's courageos assault. Rewarded for her bravery, Ari no longer had a reason to fear the flames... Whereas Meramon gained it: Ari clawed, bit and swept away at the other Digimon, taking some blows in return, but as they furiously traded attacks, Ari's flaming ferocity grew stronger, whereas Meramon's grew weaker... In the end, the tired Lynxmon lost its flame powered transformation, but even breathing heavily as she was, Ari was able to claim victory, "So much power...", she uttered, thinking back to the digimental now stored in Yana's Digivice, "From simple courage..." Yana could do nothing but nod approvingly. She was right. Braving ahead instead of fearing the uncertainty... That was without a doubt the way to do forward in this digital world. In the end, they went as far as talking selfies in front of the defeated Meramon, making a V sign with their hands, to have something to show for in the end. The rest of the cave didn't offer anything interesting... But they had already gained enough from this adventure. Digi-egg of Courage: The courage Digimental. It is flame colored with a sharp horn and a red crest of courage engraved. Enables Gatomon to Armor Digivolve to Lynxmon. |
