WHEN SHE WAS JUST A GIRL, SHE EXPECTED THE WORLD

Juliette never thought she'd find herself in the Nanosphere forest again. The first time she was here, her and Grace were utterly and completely lost. Even though she wouldn't admit it, Grace had gotten them lost with her pride. Yet, she was a baby and has developed since then...even though that confidence has grown.

"I don't see why we need to come back to this place," said the Salamon as she trotted beside her tamer. "What, did you want to get lost again? Encounter another a Digimon with an eye patch and a weird way of talking?"

Julie shook her head with a grin. "No. I want to go to the Ancient Tree." Grace stopped in her tracks and looked up at her. "The Ancient Tree? What's so special about a tree?" 

The girl shrugged and continued walking. "I don't know, that's what I want to find out." She's heard of of its immense size which can go back hundreds or even thousands of years ago. Juliette thought that was hogwash: Did Digiworld even exist prior to fifty years ago? Julie always connected this world to the advancement of technology in the human world, but she could be wrong. 

A sigh came from beside her and she watched as Grace caught up to her. "I guess I"ll come along. I have to protect you from creepy Digimon anyway." Julie laughed and bent down to give her a pet. "Thank Grace."

Koichi had wandered off from Anko when she was babysitting him, the In-training digimon had no clue that he was not allowed to go anywhere unless asked. Not that it mattered, really. He felt like something was missing, something.. crucial.
Others seemed to act so different, different from how Koichi was acting. The Chorkimon wanted to know why, and he had heard of the Ancient Tree and maybe the ability to answer questions. He wasn't sure if it was a lie or not, but he was willing to find out.

In the distance, he noticed two figures wandering around. The In-training simply watched them as they disappeared behind trees.
No longer bothered by their presence, the pup started to waddle further, his tiny paws barely keeping up with the human and her fellow digimon.

Finally, the pup was within range for him to eavesdrop. They were talking about protecting each other when a creepy digimon would show up.
Koichi approached them further, stopping merely inches behind them.
"Hello, human." He spoke, in a rather monotone but very childlike voice. He then turned to the Salamon, expression blank, red eyes staring into her soul. "Hello, digimon." He greeted, before tilting his head to the side. He remained quiet after that, simply staring at them as if they were interesting.

Oh man, Adam had given her and Keigo the task to babysit the newborn member of the Lightsworn and she ALREADY lost him out of sight!
Keigo, now in his champion form, had his arms wrapped around his tamer as they were flying through the sky, this way, they could easily spot Koichi.

"Big brother is going to be so mad.." Anko whimpered, and Keigo smirked. "Hey, it's not the first time this happens." Keigo responded, making Anko giggle. "Yeah, he's a bit of a rascal isn't he? I wonder how Adam found him."
Keigo swallowed, remembering the talk he had with Adam. Apparently Koichi's tamer was killed and on that same day, part of Koichi's data was absorbed by two menacing ultimate digimon.
That did explain the rather odd behavior the pup was showing.

"There!" Anko explained, spotting a tamer with her digimon plus the missing puppy. Keigo started descending from the sky, landing swiftly on his feet. The ExVeemon gently placed his tamer down on the ground, and then he dedigivolved back to his Veemon form.
Anko ran over to the pup, picking him up and cuddling him. "Koichi, you can't just run away from us!" Anko insisted, and Keigo walked up towards the strangers.
"Shorry if Koichi hash been a bit of trouble for you. He ran away from ush, we're shupposhed to babyshit him." [OOC: Crud that was not intentional. XD but Keigo pronounces the s as a sh]

Anko then smiled at both the tamer and the Salamon. "My name is Anko, and the Veemon is named Keigo." She paused, before looking down at the purple pup. "And you already met Koichi."

“You know, I keep saying. We’ll never be more lost than we were last time – but somehow – it keeps coming true,” a half sincere but half jesting smile across her face as she said it. “– it always seems like it’s when you’re leading the way,” she said in an undertone.  Silica had completely forgotten the size of Lunamon’s ears and she turned to her tamer to give a slight smirk. “So, oh great navigator. Where to next –” “Well, if I recall correctly, the next city is –.” she said before cutting off the final few words. “I hear someone, Tamer. Over that hill,” she pointed to a small ridge which lead up to what can only be described as a one gargantuan tree. It towered over everything else, making all of the other trees look like shrubs in comparison. It was so big, if you chopped it down – you’d never need firewood for the rest of your life. “That is the Ancient Tree. One of age, we don’t know how old it even is,” Lunamon recited slowly, staring up at the winding branches filled with long thin leaves. As the two made it over the hill, still talking about the antiquity of this ancient tree – she saw a group of people. Two girls and two, no wait three Digimon. One of the Digimon was dog-like and the second even more dog-like. For a moment, all she could see was the long blond hair of a rather beautiful girl and then as she moved, she saw a much shorter girl whom she recognised, immediately. “Wait a second, Anko, Keigo?!” she said excitedly – rushing over with Lunamon lazily following suit, sighing slightly under her breath at this development.

She wasn't wrong: The tree was a lot bigger than she'd imagined. "Wow..." she murmured to herself as she pressed a hand against the thick bark. Grace sniffed at its base and sat against it. She was unimpressed and it showed on her face as clear as the day. It was alright: Not everyone was a nature person.

Grace's ears picked up something and she turned her attention towards a new being. She let out a yelp in fright, but quickly regained her composure. "Don't do that!" she yelled at the intruder and narrow her eyes at him. "Don't you know sneaking up on unsuspecting Digimon is rude?"

Julie, for once, was not scared by the situation. In fact, the little Digimon was super adorable that she had to fight the urge to pick him up and cuddle him. "Oh, he was just greeting us, Grace." She turned towards the Digimon and lowered herself closer to his level. "Hey there little guy. What are you doing here all by yourself?"

As if to answer her question, two beings came from the sky and approached the three of them. The Digimon transformed from his larger self to a smaller version, which was something neither Julie nor Grace has seen before. The girl, the very young girl, ran up to the puppy and cuddle him the way Julie wanted to cuddle him before. She listened to the girl's scolding which caused her to smile a bit. 'That was so adorable,' Julie thought to herself.

Meanwhile, Grace seemed annoyed with the situation, probably because the focus was on the dog instead of her. She turned her attention to the Veemon with a frown. "You should be more careful with him and teach him manners. He nearly gave me a fright earlier." She finished her own scolding with a 'hmph' and walked over towards Julie before curling by her side.

After the girl introduced herself and her companions, Julie smiled and gave the three of them a wave. "Hello you all. I'm Julie and this is Grace. It's a pleasure to meet you." Grace nodded despite her earlier comment and looked towards the new figures that joined them.

Soon the duo were in the companion beautiful girls and adorable Digimon. She watched as the blue-haired girl rush over towards the young girl. They must have already known each by her greeting, and Julie looked over that the girl's companion. She was a rabbit, and her heart ached for the rabbit she left at home. She hoped her grandparents were taking good care of him.

"Hello," said Grace to the two newcomers. "Welcome to the party," she added with a hint of sarcasm. "I'm Grace, and this is Julie." She gave the Lunamon a once over, partly surprised by the fact to eye a Digimon with bigger ears than herself. "Cute," she said to the Lunamon's ears and comfied herself even more along Julie's foot.

The Salamon uttered a yelp, which did not faze the Chorkimon at all. He remained still, like a statue, even when she was scolding him for sneaking up on them like that. This was just his way of saying hi, he did not even bother apologizing. Better yet, the human made sure that he didn't even have to.
Koichi followed the human with his eyes as she crouched to meet his height, he didn't understand why she did that. Predators could easily see her as prey now that she had made herself this small.

Chorkimon could not process the tone which the girl was using, so he simply tilt his head at her. Koichi was just a tad smaller than the Salamon, so why would the girl call him 'little'? "I am not little." He spoke, in a monotone voice. "And I was following you." Perhaps that needed a bit more information, but Koichi wasn't all that bright.

He turned his head to see another human and her digimon descend from the sky, Koichi remained unfazed. "Oh, hello human." He said, as Anko had picked him up and started scolding him. There was still no expression on the pup's face, nothing that could say what he was thinking. The cuddling from Anko simply messed up his fur, creating a tiny fluffy batch right between his ears.
He then looked at the Salamon, who barked at the Veemon now too. Koichi simply wondered why she was so agitated.

Behind them, Koichi caught another voice. Different from the others. The pup simply stared in front of him, not interested in the special reunion that was happening right now.

Keigo looked a little uncomfortable as Grace told him that he should teach Koichi some manners. "Eh.. heheeh.." He laughed, rubbing the back of his head. If only they knew..

Anko smiled as the girl introduced herself and her partner as Julie and Grace. "Those are wonderful names! It's nice to meet you too! And Keigo, why can't you look more than Grace?" Anko asked her partner, gently patting Koichi as she spoke, before looking down to talk to him. "Oh, seriously Koichi, why do you adres me as human? It's Anko, you know that." The little girl said, looking a little bit embarrassed when the pup did not use her name. Keigo only looked confused. "But I am cute!" The rookie exclaimed, before pulling up his puppy eyes. "Shee?" Anko snorted. "You have a booger in your nose." The Veemon touched the little white stub on his face, but then he stomped on the ground with his foot. "I don't even have vishible noshtrils!" He exclaimed, shooting a glare at his tamer.

As Keigo was still glaring daggers at his tamer, another voice popped up. This time, however, it was familiar. Anko turned around, her eyes widening with happiness as she saw it was Silica.
"Silica!" She exclaimed, throwing Koichi into the air and running over to the fellow tamer. "I haven't seen you in such a long time!" Keigo, raised his arms and started walking around to catch Koichi. The Veemon looked not amused, turning to Julie and Grace. "She getsh like thish all the time. Her attenshion shpan ish ash short ash a match. You undershtand why we losht Koichi now, right?"

““It’s very nice to meet you, both of you,” politely bowing her head to each of them in turn. “My name is Silica – and this is my partner, Lunamon.” The partner of the girl, a Salamon. A small, cream-coloured mix of a dog and a cat – with a large ring around its neck, seemed mightily interested in Lunamon. However, Luna was being her usual self and slid herself away from view, clutching Silica’s leg as she did so. Whispering so only Silica could hear her, “Do we need to stay, Tamer.” Silica smiled down at her, and rubbed the top of her head with one palm. “Don’t worry, it’ll be fine.” It was strange to have run back into Anko and Keigo so soon. Last they met, they had been faced between a rock and a disgusting place – as a group of Numemon had tried to – take them down. She could already see a marked improvement in their skills since that last encounter; now she was able to reach champion level just as Luna could; so she assumed – she was now more able to defend herself which made her feel better about leaving her in Terrabyte City, before. Silica shook her head, breaking free of the daydream – hoping no-one was looking at her as she must have been rather out of it for a little while. “I’m sorry, I was lost in thought for a minute, there. It is truly nice to meet you, however – and of course it’s wonderful to see you once again, Anko. “Tamer, we need to go to that…that thing. Remember,” Luna said quite suddenly trying to get her to move by pushing at her legs. “I don’t remember anything,” she resented, a little confused by her lack of interest in the proceeding. She then made a hand-motion to draw Silica forward to whisper in her ear. “We are fine on our own – we don’t need anyone else.” “Company is always fun, Luna. You should try it sometime,” she replied, slightly irritably now. "Fine," she answered grumpily, turning away from the now quite large group.  She turned back to Juliette, Grace, Anko, Keigo and the rather cute dog Digimon whom she didn’t yet know. “So, what brings you up to – this big tree – thing?”

"Following us?" Asked Grace. "Why? Don't you have something better to do?" she asked with an annoyed raised eyebrow.

"Oh Grace, do be more understanding," said Julie. "He could be lost and needing our help." Yet he was found when Anko and Keigo retrieved the Digimon dog. Julie smiled at the exchange the young girl had with her partners. "I think you are cute," she said to Keigo which earned her an eyeroll from Grace.

Julie's eyes rose in horror as she threw up the young pup into the air. "No, Anko! Please be more careful with him," she chided but not too harshly. The girl was quite young and may not have known any better. She sent a concerned look to Keigo. "Please continue to look over her," she asked as Anko and Silica exchanged greetings.

"Tch. Humans," Grace muttered and looked towards Silica who asked about the tree. "She wanted to see the tree because it was 'interesting' or something. If you'd ask me it looks like any other tree."
