Iscariot | SOLO DIGIMON |
PERSONALITY Iscariot on the exterior appears as a friendly face wrapped in a cloak of mystery. He is a creature of very few words, but always seems to know what to say. Perhaps because he speaks what others want to hear rather than his own mind. It's notoriously difficult to get him to share any personal details, giving him the impression of a loner. Iscariot is a creature of friendly bearing while cloaking himself in ambiguity. He is soft-spoken, keeping his mind guarded while his wheedling tongue puts many at ease with a few gentle words; words of comfort, words of promise, words that always seem to be exactly what they needed to hear. And so, they’d smile at him, speaking with this lone creature, keeping him company until he’d slip away. They’d ask about him, trying to strike up conversation in an attempt to get to know him, but rarely would they get anything of personal value except one phrase. “My name is Iscariot, my friend.” Followed by a look that for some reason most would respond to as if he had just smiled, despite his expression being concealed. On occasion, someone might peak Iscariot’s interest. This is normally a rare occurrence, as people in general merely tend to exist just… to exist. One does not question why a chair exists. It’s merely there, a part of the framework of reality. Taking a personal interest in people is merely foreign to him. But, when these interests are made, the person might find him or herself staring intently at the shadows behind him, wondering if that figure they saw briefly was just a part of their imagination. Iscariot believes heavily in luck of others, his views centering on fortune and misfortune. That is to say, he knew better than to believe in luck himself. Those who trust luck end up dead, those who believe in it always fail. When viewing the Million to One Chance as an ally, you would almost inevitably hit the other nine hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred ninety nine before getting that one favourable chance. He is more focused on how luck treats the people around him and often makes a game out of it, granting his praise on those who manage to impress him by beating the odds.
APPEARANCE This strange Digimon doesn't seem to keep his form constant. Perhaps he possesses some sort of shapeshifting ability, or maybe it's the robes he wears on top of the beaked mask concealing his face. His appearance appears to be avian in origin, though his skin is leathery when exposed. The mask takes the place of this creature's face. In fact, maybe it is his face, assuming it's a male. It certainly blinks if one stares at him for too long, but most of the time it remains motionless and stoic. His body seems to be rather thin, perhaps even frail. In his Rookie form, he's a rather small Digimon, perhaps even cuddly looking if one could get past the stench, but if someone were to touch the robes that conceal his body they wouldn't feel any resistance from his body. INVENTORY ○ LEATHER POUCH - A small, leather pouch. It looks like it's badly made, you can see the stitches. A pleasant smell seems to be coming of from it. ○ ASSORTED VIALS - They look professional enough, where did he get these from? ○ CIGARETTE PACK - The pack never seems to run out. He doesn't smoke either... speaking of which- why does he have this? BIOGRAPHY They say you can judge a man by a firm look in the eye and a shake of his hand. They say that every living creature is, in its essence, inherently good. They say that masks only serve to hide one’s nature to the world. As Iscariot knows, some people will say anything. People tended to be so stupid. The one known as Iscariot has been a name known by many of the communities of the Digital World. The denizens know him as a kindly soul, a gentle smile, a bit pale, tall, and possibly on the bony side… but they would struggle to describe him beyond that point. He was… a creature, perhaps? Or maybe a human? It was rather hard for them to recall. But, he was a gentle and jovial personality, and always a treat to talk to. He would attend banquets, local ceremonies, and often he would even bring food of his own to help contribute to the festivities. Everyone would laugh, sing, and dance, and eat themselves sick, but for some reason beyond what anyone could explain, very few even touched the food brought by Iscariot. He would always muse that this might be some sort of survival mechanism, some sort of instinct. It did not mean that his work was halted in any way, but it was still an amusing little tidbit for him to ponder. He’d have good grace. He’d smile. He’d speak softly. He’d offer his aid. He’d look upon every single individual as a blight to be purged. Behind an expressionless mask, he’d become The Purifier. Iscariot’s touch was death. His thin flesh housing the ailments that clung to him, a faint cloying scent in the air. The odor of rot, betraying his nature. The undying purifier… It had a nice ring to it… The Plague-spreader. The Revenant of a world seeking revenge on the life that’s been afflicting it for so long. Iscariot hated everything that lived. He hated how they’d plague the very existence of the Digital World, but what irked him even more were the ones that clung to life. It was merely a breach in etiquette. He’d smile unseen behind the pale mask at those who’d accept their fates calmly, he’d offer them the solace of a quick end. But most little cretins… they clung to life like the parasites they were… And for them, he employed other means. Plagues were simple. They were a life of their own, more or less. Many a remote village had been wiped from the map, boil-ridden flesh oozing the life away, pus dripping carcasses soiling the earth as even trees and plants would cease to grow. Those who had seen the true nature of The Revenant seldom lived to even realize it. But even then, there were certain special cases that caught his attention. The ones who took more than they were given… the filthy insects… Taking life was fair game. He may hate life, but it was hardly a choice that the living had taken. Iscariot never faulted most of his victims for the lives they led, it was merely an unfortunate event that he had to fix. However, those who lived on stolen life, those who extended their lives, those who cheated Death… Those who made the choice… they repulsed the Purifier to his very core. For them, he took special interest. In the dead of night, he’d be there, his mask staring blankly as his calm voice would purr into their hearts. “A plague is spreading… soon, all here shall die. But for you, it need not be the case. How about we make a deal?” A deal for life. A deal with the Purifier, as it was. “Just accept this vial, drink, and you need not fret being infected thereafter. “And believe me, mortal… I am a man of my word.” The insect would of course accept. The money or goods offered in exchange were rarely of concern to Iscariot. More often than not, he disposed of them in a nearby ditch. What was important would be that the deal was made… And Iscariot had never lied. The filth would see for himself. Sure, he might feel a bit ill for a day or so, but it was a natural process. He’d be on his feet and going on about his business when… the news would start. A sickness spreading, an illness infecting the village, or city, or whatever. If the worthless fool was a business man, he would most likely be able to make quite a mint on the plague, chuckling merrily as he’d pocket his gains and move on to the next city to live happily ever after. It would be a pity that happily ever after never seemed to last these days. In the dead of night, the Revenant would appear once more, expressionless mask leering at the fool in his bed. Iscariot would give a gentle bow, whispering softly into his ear. “I hope you’ve made well of yourself, but regrettably I must bid you adieu. Remember, friend… I am a man of my word. And I thank you for taking the sickness with you into this new city… It should be a matter of hours before the illness growing inside of you finishes breaking down your immune system… Which will leave you with nothing…” He’d chuckle softly, watching the filth try to jump from his bed, pulling a weapon of some sort before the Purifier would knock the insect back down on his bed. “The illness has been mutating inside of you… it’s had to, just to become potent enough to overcome your immunity. I don’t envy you, I can imagine how much more painful this plague will be for you than it was for your town… How much more horrible… I can’t wait to watch you suffer.” He’d give a soft chuckle, turning his back before… “W-we had a deal.” “And you cannot become infected once you already are, my friend… Your actions destroyed your own city as well as this one… in the weeks to come, this city will be wiped from the map, and you can spend your last moments realizing it is entirely thanks to you.” He’d turn back, removing his mask to reveal the more fearsome smiling visage beneath. “I-Iscariot?!” “You clung to life like the insect you are… now you make amends. Good bye, my friend.” As the Purifier would leave, the man to try to stand before… he’d cough… from his lips would dribble a small amount of blood. | NICKNAME Purifier AGE ?
