THE MARKED ONES
name//
The Marked ones - "The Guiding light and the Sheltering shadow."
focus//
The focus of The Marked ones is to preserve people's true will in the face of overwhelming darkness, or even light. Whether you wish to harness Darkness or avoid it completely, your individual freedom is paramout and your will should never be turned into something it isn't. Whatever path you choose to take, it shouldn't be corrupted into something else.
alignment//
The Marked Ones are a True Neutral aligned team. They are a Secret Organization founded by tamers of diverse affiliations, brought together by the mark of evil, a curse inflicted upon them all. The seek to preserve the delicate balance between light and darkness - fighting corrupting forces - without letting the scales tip too much towards one side, which would have disastrous consequences.
area of operations//
The Marked Ones are as secretive and widespread as one might imagine. They gather only at times of crisis or to induct a new member, and have a private deep network chat to convene even when they're all apart. If a physical reunion is necessary, they will either do it The Skies or the deserts in The West
ABOUT
description//
thirteen warriors, thirteen cursed marks
A long time would pass between the battle of triton city and the day the Marked ones finally learned who cursed them, and by then each had dealt with this curse in different ways. Some rejected it, others fled from it, few embraced it... When they finally learned they had been cursed by Plutomon, it was from the words of Jupitermon, who offered them a choice: Get rid of their marks, or convert them into something better. It was from this point on that the secret organization known as the Marked Ones came into being. Being used as pawns in a struggle between light and darkness made them understand the value of individual choice, and made many of them reject any power that would forcefully make it for them.
Since Light and Darkness are two sides of the same coin and one cannot simply erradicate the latter. However, one's individual freedom to have that power or refuse it should be respected to the utmost. If Darkness were to force itself on an unwilling host, they would be there to stop it. If one decided to use that Darkness, than they would help them not be consumed by it.
Being a secret organization, membership doesn't interfere with one's external affiliation, but when working together - sharing a goal to master darkness instead of being mastered by it - they're expected to put aside outside conflicts for the duration of their mission. Even if you never had a curse mark, you can stay and help others make that decision for themselves.
Aside from mastering darkness and preventing it from getting too strong, The Marked Ones shelter those who like them may feel renegated and alone due to similar circumstances, and aren't really picky with details. Due to the lack of affiliation towards any government, they all have their own agenda, detached from worldly affairs. However, anyone who seeks to create a world without either light or darkness is typically regarded as an enemy to be stopped.

BENEFITS
equipment//
Scales pendant: Either boosts a Light digimon's power by 50%, or allows the tamer to be protected against their own Dark Digivolved partner's attacks and relay a single command per turn (that the Digimon can choose to accept or refuse depending on personality), which is more effective the more focus the tamer puts into it. Once per thread, allows a Light and a Dark Digivolved Digimon to Jogress into a stable form, keeping the buffs from both and allowing it fully conscious self control.
UNLOCKED AT 5 MEMBERS.
Thermo Optic camoflage:: A plug-in to teh Digivice or Digimon that allows digimon to go invisible, also providing null signature to radar and all five senses. The cloak can turn allies invisible as well if they're touching the user when Active. Executing an attack will disable the cloak. It can be used twice per thread.
UNLOCKED AT 10 MEMBERS.
Bacchusmon wine: A self filling magic jug of Bacchusmon wine. When drunk, it protects the user from afflictions or disabling crowd control effects, or removes one of those effects if its already in place. If the drinker is a tamer, the boon spreads to their digimon as well, but vanishes from everyone once spent. Cooldown: 3 turns
UNLOCKED AT 15 MEMBERS.
traits//
Purging Glare: As the keepers of balance and death gods to those who would compromise it, the marked ones can exert their balancing aura tinged with menacing bloodlust, typically by glaring at their foe. This intimidates the enemy on a visceral, instinctive level, removing any buffs they may be benefitting from (or suspending them for 2 turns if they can't be removed). Additionally, foes at the same level or weaker are paralyzed for a single turn (those stronger or immune to fear effects are slowed for 50%). If used on a Dark Digivolution, this ability will also cause them to regain their conscience for the duration of time they aren't buffed. Cooldown: 3 turns
UNLOCKED AT 4 MEMBERS.
Assassin's Edge: After accepting their role and training to become better at it, the Marked ones have developed the necessary mindset to fulfil it. Even as they blend into the crowd, they become able to tell friend from foe through a special sixth sense, and being able to see Auras: Allied auras are marked blue, civilians green, and enemies red (This depends on prior knowledge and killing intent on scanned enemies). They use this to single out a target and find a best moment to strike.
Once they mark a target, they lose this vision for anyone but their marked enemy, but in return gain an unyielding focus when targeting that foe with a keen eye for its weaknesses, dealing double damage, while taking and dealing half damage to everyone else.
In addition, if the assassination fails and they're forced into single combat, an enemy who fights back and willingly engages them in a duel will suffer from the same conditions: Dealing double damage to the Marked One while taking and dealing half damage to others.
UNLOCKED AT 8 MEMBERS.
team ability//
Blood of the Gods: Marked ones members have access to an replacement alternate Super mega. This must be a Light Biomerge and must result in either an Olympus, Royal Knight or a Demon Lord Digimon. This Digivolution can only be used once per thread and lasts for up to 7 posts, but has a 50% boost. In addition, it gives other marked ones and their digimon a 25% boost (buffs from this trait cap at 75%).
UNLOCKED AT 12 MEMBERS.
ROSTER
membership and ranking system//
- The Marked Ones, being a secret brotherhood, has no formal leadership or hierarchy save for order of induction. Even then, all members vote on important decisions, with the eldest members' opinion being used as a tiebreaker at best.
- One does not simply Join the marked ones. To be invited, you have to be personally recommended by one of the original marked ones or those they recruited, and swear an oath to uphold the creed, which involves drinking from a cup of blood from each member. Thanks to Jupitermon's data - and some of Plutomon's - in those who bear those marks, this ritual actually holds a bit more power than mere words: Due to this, when one leaves the marked ones or attempts to talk about them to outsiders, they will forget everything.
- If they leave, former brothers will have no memory of the Marked ones or any activity they did under their banner. They'll remember their brethren as friends, but not of their shared mantle as keepers of balance. When attempting to discuss it to outsiders, they will find themselves tongue tied, as if momentarily forgetting it enough to put it to words.
