Holy halo - The Holy ring around Gatomon's Tail protects him against Virus digimon and their attacks. [Virus Resistance] Battle Synopsis▪ ▪ 80% Experience until Ult290/300 Posts▪ | During one of her travels, Yana had earned a fancy new pendant. It wasn't so much earned as it was more bought, if only really cheap; the merchant sold it to her almost for free. Why did he do that? Once he saw her browsing his wares, he spared no lengths to ensure Yana bought it, constantly haggling to reduce the price until the girl said yes. It didn't really look that fancy or anything - at least by Digital world standards - but even then Yana couldn't reject the offer thanks to her hunt for souvenirs. That was about the only strong memory she had of this morning in Triton city, the added weight around her neck took up the most of her focus. Something about this pendant felt oddly familiar. Even now, as she explored the Emerald Mangrove, her mind was mostly dwelling on this item, and little on her surroundings. Ari noticed it easily enough, "Nana-chan... Something on your mind?", she asked softly, to which Yana smiled and shook her head. She felt much too silly in admitting she was still thinking about the pendant. "Not really... Don't worry about it~", she'd reply, smiling happily and hoping Ari wouldn't think about it too much. The gatomon gave a doubtful look, but then let it go as they continued on their way. But soon, something else had caught the two girl's attention, a cracked yet familiar shape in the middle of a few rocks. It was a Digimon's egg!! Wasting not a moment, Yana dashed over and picked it up, wiping the dust off the shell. A Digitama... Here...? Why? They were miles away from the valley of beginnings... Not to mention it looked forgotten. Regardless, Yana's caring nature was all she needed to refuse to leave it here, and she promplty picked up the Egg and took it along, "Poor thing...", she uttered with a sad, yet loving tone, putting the egg into her satchel. This baby Digimon would have nobody to care for him as he hatched, how could Yana just leave him be?! But she didn't have to walk far until she finally realized why it was here, "HEY YOU, HUMAN!!! LEAVE THAT EGG AND GO!", she turned around, with a rare frown on her face, facing what she soon recognized as an Ogremon. That threatening tone, the contempt this voice had for this egg... She couldn't stand it! Just an innocent life, not even born yet. Though she turned around, she didn't even bother to react to the Orgemon's words, and neither did Ari, "Oi, oi... Are you deaf or something?! Put that egg down or get Smashed to bits with it!!" "Why...?", was all she could ask, her love shining through even with the repressed anger and outrage, "Whoever's inside hasn't even born yet!" But to no avail... The question only provoked Ogremon, and as he punched an energy blast her way, Yana was promptly shoved aside by an attentive Ari, who promptly engaged the Ogremon in a fistfight. He went on and on about not letting his ageless enemy out of his sight, even as a freshly killed egg. The two traded blows, and even though Ogremon was physically strong, Ari was way faster and landed 10 punches for each one she took. But as her partner and the enemy fought, the still shaken Yana protectively held on to the egg she'd just found... That feeling she had when Gepetto's Parasite took over his Tamer's body. The same unspoken emotion she had during the battles of Triton and Terabyte City. All those dark powers; everything they did was awful, cruel, callous... Unforgivable. Indeed, Yana was a loving girl. But whoever said there's a fine line between love and hate clearly had this girl in mind, as such a strong love easily turns into an equally strong fury. And this Ogremon in front of her. Her saddneded gaze turned into a glare as her Digivice Glimmered and Yana cried out, "...DISAPPEAR!!" The startled Ogremon turned her way, expecting her to do something, maybe a new digivolution... But nothing happened... Intead, this distracted moment allowed Ari to land a thundering Heaven's Knuckle to his face, promptly knocking him out. Yet the girl's unconscious rage didn't subside. Instead, she kept urging Ari on, again and again, until the Gatomon pointed out Ogremon couldn't fight anymore. That's when Yana realized she had been crying for her partner to kill. ------- He was gone... Yana might have stopped herself from taking Ogremon's life at the last moment (or rather, Ari did), but the memory of what she was ready to do wouldn't abandon her. Instead, the Digitama she saved, the same she cradled in her arms filled her with light, hope, and love anew. Every time she looked at the life she had just saved, all the guilt and reluctance seemed to go away for a moment. It had been a terrible choice, one fate had thrust upon her without any regards for her mental health as it so often happened. But that didn't change anything. Against a stronger opponent, she might have a similar choice to make, kill or be killed. Yana tried her best not to dwell on it, but even then she couldn't stop thinking those thoughts. For now, she simply strove to find a hiding place to keep the egg in... Ogremon might come back... Ari had kept Yana from claiming a life when driven by hatred, something the dark haired tamer would always thank her for. But even then, there was no changing how she had left that foe alive, and he'd no doubt keep chasing after her or his rival. Hiding under the roots of a large tree, Yana finally found what she'd been looking for. There, she was able to sit down on a rock and relax... Indeed looking at the life she just saved helped her feel a bit better, warmer even. Soon Ari had laid down at her feet as the ballerina turned Digimon tamer kept petting the cracked egg, humming to it. And eventually something happened! The egg shook and glimmered, the crack widening until the shell shattered into pieces and Yana found herself holding an innocent and fuzzy fresh level digimon: The moment he learned Yana and Ari's names, he had only one word for them "Thank you, Yana-san, Ari-san~!", said Punimon, skipping happily, fully aware of the girls roles in saving his life and hatching his egg. Punimon's egg shell turned into a crib where she placed the young Digimon, petting it a bit more as she prepared to leave. She had saved this baby's life... At that moment, Yana thoroughly accepted her endless love, even if it could easily turn to hate against those who threatened it. In the end, she realized she would always have others' best interests at heart. With this they walked out from under the trees roots, ready to resume their adventures and happy at having done a good deed. But as she walked out of the makeshift cave, a strange glimmer caught her attention. It wasn't anything like the one that came from the egg, it was an odd, heart warming magenta glow... Coming from the floor. As she turned her head down, her eyes widened at the sight before her: A... heart...?! "Nana-chan... That's...", Ari uttered as the glowing heart materialized a small SD-like cartridge with same crest. It hovered in the air for a while, until Yana gasped as she saw the new pendant she bough glimmer and be pulled out from under her shirt, hovering in the air as the crest slid into the tag, completing it, "...Your Crest of Love!!" For all her startled surprise, as soon as the completed tag fell back loosely over her clothes, Yana felt immersed by a reassuring warmth, "It feels warm...", she commented, smiling softly as she held on to the tag, promptly heading back out onto the wilderness. Now, the really crucial question presented itself, and the moment Yana thought about it,she wouldn't be able to think about anything else. What was she supposed to do with this crest?! |
