PROLOGUE: TRICERAMON

A WILD TRICERAMON HAS EMERGED!

From out of the treelines on the very fringes of the Domain Savannah, a rustling appears. A dull rumbling begins in the very base of the ground beneath the feet of numerous Digimon simply making their way across this normative and densely-populated corridor or arable land surrounding Terabyte City. As it grows louder, and a faint, indiscernable sound begins to echo out from the forests nearby, flocks of Biyomon take to the skies, chirping madly in warning.

Some do not run until it is too late.

Out of the treeline bounds TRICERAMON, stomping his feet and rearing his head as he screams, clearly in the throes of an almost unfathomable fit of rage. Who will help to vanquish this enraged dinosaur Digimon?

RULES FOR THIS MINIBOSS FOLLOW.

01. This miniboss opens upon posting and will close on Weds 13th April at 11:30PM GMT, or 6:30PM EST.

02. Anybody who posts in this thread at least once towards helping defeat Triceramon will gain a flat reward of 400 Bits and 10 Posts.

03. However, Triceramon will not be defeated easily, and it will take the combined efforts of either 2 Ultimates, 5 Champions, or 15 Rookies, or a mixture thereof (ratios and power to be determined as acceptable by staff) to defeat him. If this quota is not met, Triceramon will not be defeated, and the rewards will not be given. Triceramon should be attacked IMMEDIATELY in your first responding post in this thread; so no exposition please, people.

04. You may post ONCE in this thread per ROUND, wherein a NEW ROUND is begun when TRICERAMON posts, which will foreseeably be under the account of Dr. Bees . Posting TWICE before a new round will mean you will suffer a 100 Bit Penalty, so make sure you READ THE RULES.

05. After the Miniboss "closes" on Weds 13th April, the first person to post afterwards will be the one who deals the killing blow to Triceramon. Any other posts that come after this time will be deleted and not registered -- it's first come first serve after that deadline closes; it will be announced in the cbox at 11:30 GMT or 6:30 EST that Triceramon can be killed.

05b. Whoever so deals the killing blow to Triceramon will earn a permanent "medal" in their profile inventory to discern them as the Slayer of the Savannah Triceramon. This medal is only flavour and grants you no abilities or extra post/bit bonuses, as does dealing the killing blow to Triceramon.

06. You may choose to work together in a team to defeat Triceramon, but multiple attacks from different fronts are advised -- teamwork may be difficult in greater detail due to RULE 04.

❝ "This isn't a good idea." Harley spoke to her partner, slightly crouching behind a bush a few miles away from the outer fringes of the savannah. The trees were more populated there, and there was some heavy movement in a particular patch - just the one she was close to. Luckily, with a winged Digimon, she was able to scout this out beforehand. Engaging this anomaly seemed like a less than good idea, but she would admit to feeling a bit cocky after her recent ventures. "We might get killed." It was as if the winds and earth moved with this unstoppable force, it taking her hair and forcing her to take a hand to it to force it from getting too out of control. A flock of bird Digimon escaped the lush canopies, and a quaking followed forth. It was almost here. There wasn't much time to back out now. "Yeah, yeah, whatever, I'll just be reborn anyway - you now, haha, yeah, I guess we'll find out about that." A large dinosaur emerged from the trees, the very source of all of the disruption, and let out a mighty roar - promptly cutting off the Demidevimon. "Whatever - we should be more worried about him anyway!" She grabbed her Digivice, there was no point in trying to use a rookie stage against whatever this was. It was likely at least Champion, or perhaps even Mega, either way she was going in. If worse came to worse, it would be easy to out-maneuver this behemoth for an escape. "It doesn't notice us yet, get ready!" The girl activated her Digivice, forcing her partner to explode into a seafoam green code, reformatting many times larger - even to the lengths rivaling the enemy before them. ARMOR DIGIVOLUTION A giant serpent-like Digimon came forth, slithering on the ground like a large snake. It was normally aquatic, but it could maneuver on land to a slight degree - thought not nearly as quickly. With the arrival of the Seadramon, clouds began to form overhead, and with it, a slight drizzle began to pour over a small radius of the savannah. The rain would increase as it went on, as long as the sea-dragon wasn't taken out any time soon. "Now!" Harley shouted, commanding her Digimon to take action. The monster reared back, shouting forth a mighty call, much more beastly than his Rookie form, "MIND FREEZER!" Icy pixels gathered in the dragon's mouth, then solidifying and sending forth a beam of chilling arctic energy at the dinosaur, hopefully before it could counter-attack in any fashion.

"Lisbeth." "Dum dum. Dadum dum. Dadumdum." Eyes closed, the young girl delicately waltzed in a circle, abandon to the wind, as the Boston symphony orchestra played behind her. Held close to her body was all-time heartthrob, Rasputin,  and she made sure to lead the dance, so he couldn't go and die on her or anything. That would be tremendously awkward. "Lisbeth." " Da dumdum dumdum. Da dumdum dumdum..." Oh, Rasputin, you shouldn't have. Roses, for me? No, really, you shouldn't have, I'm deathly allergic to roses! I'm not? Well, okay, if you say so! She rested her hands on the burly Russian man's shoulders and leaned forward to lick his nose, only to realize that the entire Boston symphony orchestra was actually a 500 foot tall crustacean from the Paleolithic era. "Damn you, Loch Ness Monster, you can't have no tree fiddy!" However, the Tricramon seemed to not be having any of Lisbeth's nonsense. What a rude Paleolithic crustacean. Or was he a Jurassic crustacean? Triceratops was Jurassic, she was pretty sure. "Lisbeth!" The Dane snapped her head around to Annelise, the source of the shouting. "Whaddaya want?" The puppy-like Plotmon stared intensely at her tamer, fully aware of the level of patience required to handle Lisbeth for extended periods of time. "That's not the Loch Ness monster, nor a professional orchestra, that's a dangerous and extremely powerful Digimon, and I think we should probably leave and let the 'heroes' handle this one." Lisbeth frowned and whipped out her digivice. "Well that's no fun. She pressed a button at random, since she honestly still had no clue how the thing worked, and Annelise, with a widening of the eyes, began shifting in an array of bright shiny colors and glorious action-packed battle music and light show effects and lasers and stuff, into her TRUE form, kinda not really almost- BLACK TAILMON. "We can take him, 'lise!" "Oh, I should have never let you dance into the middle of the savannah..." The cat digimon sighed a weary sigh, before extending her claws. "Fire at will." With that, Lisbeth hoisted Annelise up with her bat and- promptly, in an absurdly well-practiced maneuver, flung her partner directly at the dinosaur thing. Tobias had been wandering around the Savannah. One of the baby digimon he was caring for, kept on crying about a specific ring that her tamer owned. The baby was sure that.. if it held the ring, it would find its tamer easily.


The Dynamon had a weakness for the little babies, as they could not fend for themselves. Tobias, however, had already achieved his champion stage. He would be less of a target than a little In-training digimon. 

"Alright.. if I was a ring with a diamond in'it.. where would I be?" He mused to himself as he was venturing out in the Savannah. 
That was, until he saw a human tamer with her partner Demidevimon hiding in a bush. 
The Dynamon looked a little bit curious as why they were hiding. Though, that question was answered when a giant Triceramon emerged from the treelines. 

"Bloody 'ell!" He cursed, and from out of the corner of his eye he could see another human girl approach with what appeared to be a black Gatomon. 
In front of him, the Demidevimon armor digivolved into a Seadramon. 
Well, this looked like one tough battle. 

Tobias rubbed the back of his head, unsure what to do. Should he just.. join in? 
Gently placing his pouch near a bush, he balled his fists. 

"Alrighty then." He said. He had no idea why the humans were attacking the Triceramon, but he assumed because.. well. the digimon was on a rampage.

Tiny particles of data surrounded the Dynamon, its form growing bigger and more muscular. Once the particles disappeared, there stood no Dynamon anymore. But a Dynogamon.

"Dynogamon!" Let's do this champion style!

"Alright ye big bully!" Tobias shouted, before charging right at the Triceramon. "Photon crusher!" 
He attempted to body slam the Triceramon.

YOU'RE A FIRESTARTER

Katsuro had been tracking the Triceramon for a few hours, now. His insect sensibilities, whilst leaving him decisively less-than-attuned to certain whims -- such as the goodness of humanity and the wants and needs of the Digital World's populace to simply be left alone -- did afford him a certain sensitivity to the tremblings and movements in the earth. This, coupled with his slaloming airborne travel through the outlying forested areas, seemed to mean that he was somewhat more likely to happen upon, well, an incident like this.

He sprung out of the treeline a few minutes after the Triceramon did, the general soundtrack of chaos and fear in all its burning, screaming, stomping glory echoing out long before he emerged from between the tree-trunks, airborne and several feet above Triceramon's behind. This was intolerable, he felt the Spirit of the Hive telling him in the back of this mind. This Triceramon would have to be stopped, and his data assimilated for the general betterment of the Digital World and its protective avatars.

"You dare to do this so close to the city under my vigil, you troglodyte monster?" Katsuro hissed from above, fluttering his wings slowly but surely, hovering and flitting from side to side, trying to hopefully disorient the grounded, enraged dinosaur. "SPIRAL BLAZE!" His gauntlets disconnected and, burning up with the makings of a further incendiary effect moments after they had left his arms, rapidly launched themselves in a trajectory towards the Triceramon, the Shadramon still moving anxiously from side to side to try and avoid any oncoming retaliation or deflection.

THE WILD TRICERAMON IS RAMPAGING!

Pagu's Mind Freezer strikes Triceramon on his flank, doing a little damage. Immediately Triceramon unleashes a different kind of roar. Out of the treeline now arrive five BLACKAGUMON to assist in Triceramon's efforts as per JURASSIC ALLIANCE. These are hostile, but will only use basic physical attacks and Pepper Breath. Two of them immediately storm towards the Seadramon. HARLEY MCDEVIA

Annelise's Catscratch Fever strikes Triceramon on his flank, but Annelise is now at close range. Triceramon swings his horns towards Annelise and uses his TRIHORN CHARGE. Lisbeth Kendt

Tobias' Photon Crusher collides with the back of Triceramon near his hind legs/rump he turns to strike Annelise, and shunts him along somewhat. Triceramon, realising there is an enemy nearby, uses TAIL SLASH to hopefully his the Dynogamon with his bladed tail, sweeping it madly and jabbing it -- hopefully -- in the fellow dragon's general direction. Katsuro's Spiral Blaze buffets the ridged spine of the Triceramon. Due to CRETACEOUS WRATH this deals greatly diminished damage. The Triceramon unleashes a slow, bubbling noise... laughter? He flicks his head up directly, trying to get a bead on Katsuro, before using PRIMORDIAL FLAME to try and fry him. The residual heat may be felt, but not damaging to Tobias Jones and Lisbeth Kendt , as Katsuro Hachi is the main target.

Anyone would have noticed the battle going on and Katsuo was no exception. With Triceramon being an Ultimate level Digimon, the young man had decided to avoid contact with the Jurassic monster, even though he did want to fight it. The thing was causing some chaos after all. However, with tamers and Digimon making their appearance one after another, with them fighting against the Triceramon and seeing it summon BlackAgumon to assist it, Katsuo steeled himself and decided to assist. Whipping out his Digivice from his jacket's pocket and a circle of data forming around his free hand, the young man slid the circle of data across the top of his Digivice. SPIRIT EVOLUTION And with a burst of data, Katsuo had taken the form of a young boy, with the legs of a goat and horns decorating his short, spiky, silver hair. Being now the Champion level Digimon, Aegiomon, he was ready to fight. Going in for a dash and approaching the group of humans and Digimon swiftly, the Spirit Wielder grabbed the Syrinx hanging on his neck and played a beautiful tune with it while getting closer and closer to the group, using 'Attract Echo' in an attempt to aggro any of the BlackAgumon or the Triceramon. ATTRACT ECHO aggros any opponent that hears it, making Katsuo a target of their attention for the duration of two posts. PROTECTOR'S SPIRIT is active, raising Katsuo's power by 50% and he can withstand one hit that would otherwise take him down. Dr. Bees ■ 209  ■ Fifth one has come! Now the MOFO has no chance!

ARMOR DIGIVOLUTION

"Run! Run! Save yourselves!"

Bird Digimon flew overhead, crying out in fear as the pair hurriedly moved through the grasslands of the Savannah, toward Terabyte City almost. When they'd heard the sounds of what appeared to be a Digimon gone mad, they'd begun to head over right away- surely she wasn't so foolish as to think an Armored Champion could take the enraged dinosaur by himself, but it seemed that they wouldn't have to worry about that. A small number of tamers were already charging for the Ultimate level and his minions.

"Looks like we're late to the party," Claire remarked, pausing a distance away from the battle. She gave a nod at her newly pink and shiny friend, then moved toward the Agumon, sword drawn. Her reflexes and perhaps tough clothing would just have to save her from being burned, but the little monsters were nothing she hadn't faced before. She moved so that she was at a different angle than the spirit user- at this position, behind one of the BlackAgumon, then charged for it, hoping to run it through the chest with her blade.

Meanwhile, Walter opted to keep his distance from the Triceramon for the moment- he positioned himself away from the current primordial flame but in front of the monster, slightly to the side. "Carrot bomb!" Standing on his hind legs, two carrots appeared in his paws which he promptly threw, hoping to catch the Triceramon in the face, or even better, his eyes.

Better get ready to run.

Lisbeth gasped, her hands clasped to her mouth in terror. "Oh no!" she screamed, utterly horrified, caught fully unprepared for this turn of events. How could she possibly have done such a stupid thing!? What a blatantly horrible idea! Stupid, stupid, stupid! "ANNELIIIIIIIIIISE!!" she cried pitifully towards the cat-like Digimon. Annelise winced in pain as she was struck by the beast's horns, though thankful for her CAT-LIKE REFLEXES as they saved her from being shish-kebabbed by the Triceramon. Falling back down to the ground, she aimed an aggressive LIGHTNING PAW at her foe, attempting to pummel him as she fell his full nine feet of height back to the ground. From the ground, she dashed away, retreating to a safer location. "What is it now, Lisbeth?" "I left the oven on. Now my cookie dough's gonna get all hard and crunchy and hot..." The BlackTailmon rolled her eyes. "We have more important things to worry about than cookies, Lisbeth." The girl jerked her head up and grinned a bright and shiny grin. "You're right! We do! Like punchin' a meteor into this thing, like how the original ones got dead!" For some unknown reason, Annelise shuddered at the mere thought of punching a meteor, and ignored Lisbeth's attempt at a heroic battle speech that followed. That speech, however, was soon to be interrupted. "...And we will NEVER die, even when we die in horribly gruesome manners, such as bein' microwaved to death by a micropig in a cute tuxe-" A whoosh of flame soared just past her, aimed at the insect-like Digimon not far from her location. She felt the cold steel of The Babe grow a little less cold, and paused for a second in her words. Then continued, not really being bothered by the blast of fire that nearly engulfed her. Annelise, on the other hand, was much more concerned, and shoved Lisbeth further back, into the underbrush with the David Bowie-looking girl. "Stay put." "You're not my motha'! You're a cat." Grumbling grumpily, she turned to examine the person she'd be placed near. "Why're we tryin' ta kill the shit out of a dinosaur again? This whole thing seems like a ploy to get a buncha people in one place at one time to fight a boss, but he's not really that scary of a boss, right? More like a mini-boss, ya know?" Ashamed of her tamer's poor attempts at mid-combat small talk, Annelise moved back into the fray, searching for a way to attack this behemoth of a monster. He had to have a weak spot... Tobias' body collided with the Triceramon, but what the Dynogamon didn't expect was a darn counterattack. Sure he was expecting the Triceramon do something, but slash him with the tail? Nope.

The Dynogamon was hit by the Tail Slash, but not before grabbing on to it and swinging along with it. "Whoo-ooo-ooah!" He shouted, as he was flung down on to the ground.
"Urgh.." He mumbled,shaking his head due to being a little disoriented from being flung around. Tobias then got up to his feet and dusted himself off. "Quite the challenge, aren't ye.." He muttered bitterly.
"Bloody 'ell.." Though, Tobias wasn't going to give up, so he went right back in at taking another shot at attacking the ultimate level.

Tobias' claw began sizzling with lightning. "Electro Claw!" He screamed, and uppercut the Triceramon in hope to paralyze it for one turn.

THE LAST GARRISON

The heat in the air remaining residual and the Triceramon rearing its head was warning enough, but the Hive was not truly upon Katsuro's back yet; the links in Katsuro's mind were still fresh for this bout of violence and his body was raw and yet to acclimatise. The flames seared his leg, armoured as it was, as he moved away from the cone, sending him dipping through the air as he was briefly aflame, grunting in pain.

The burn was not fatal, nowhere near for a glancing blow, but the Shadramon could feel the difference between Champion and Ultimate flames. A direct hit would likely spell disaster; the residual heat was still present, its sear agonising and the burn's pain still lancing through his internal composition, translated into the biodigital signals this world operated through.

"Ultrasound Mimicry!" Katsuro begun to beat his wings. Around him the clones begun to appear; he retreated to the treeline and started to fan out, the clones splitting away from him at great speed, remaining airborne and surrounding the Triceramon. A distraction would hopefully be best for now until he cogitated on a way to better deal with this lumbering titan. He could not knowingly leave all the handiwork to this assorted network of decidedly amoral... grunts.

"Give up now, beast," The Shadramon roared from above, his voice simultaneously echoing from each clone also. "Your time here is coming to an end, and you will be shown no mercy for attacking now an avatar of the Digital World's natural laws."

THE WILD TRICERAMON IS RAMPAGING!

Katsuo's Attract Echo draws the attention of three of the five BlackAgumon, who all converge on the Aegiomon swiftly, launching PEPPER BREATHS at him in a three-pointed attack. Ogasawara, Katsuo

Claire's assault is parried by the feral BlackAgumon, who retaliates with a claw attack, batting away her lunge with its talons. Walter however attacks to more avail; his Carrot Bombs strike the Triceramon on its shoulder, prompting a roar in relative pain. It turns to Walter and prepares its MAGMA BURST, locking in the Rabbitmon as its first target. CLAIRE LYON

Annelise has dodged the first attack, and her Lightning Paw sends irritating shocks along its side, staggering the dinosaur. She has however made herself known, and the second target for its MAGMA BURST. Lisbeth Kendt

Tobias however tops up the electric assault with his Electro Claw, striking the Triceramon straight in its jaw; this has made Tobias Triceramon's prime target. The paralysis effect is confirmed, meaning for the remainder of this turn and next turn, Triceramon cannot move but can still use all attacks. Triceramon has been enraged, and locks in Tobias as the third of four targets for its MAGMA BURST, at close range. Tobias Jones

Katsuro has alienated Triceramon somewhat, confusing it with his Ultrasound Mimicry clones. Picking one at random, it locks in the Shadramon, not knowing it to be a falsehood, as its fourth of four targets for MAGMA BURST. Katsuro Hachi

MAGMA BURST is used. Triceramon launches four fireballs from its mouth, accurately towards Walter (CLAIRE LYON), Annelise (Lisbeth Kendt), Tobias (Tobias Jones) and a Katsuro clone (Katsuro Hachi).

The neat little tune he had played had successfully attracted three out of the five BlackAgumon, which was good. Very good indeed. The three black reptiles surrounded Katsuo and attacked him with small blasts of fire from three different directions. Though he was at Champion level, all of them hitting would hurt, so taking the attacks head on wasn't even an option. Using the strength of his legs, the Aegiomon leaped into the air, avoiding the fire balls with ease and at the same time took some distance from the Agumon. Even if he did attract their attention, Katsuo's primary target was the Triceramon. Making a dash towards the Jurassic Digimon, the Aegiomon's hands began showing they were charged electrically with a spark surrounding them. Slipping right in front of the Ultimate level Digimon, with its stomach as Katsuo's target, he began throwing punches at the thing with incredible speed, making it seem like he had multiple arms and with each hit that would connect, sparks of electricity would bounce around the Aegiomon's hands. "STUN BEAT BLOW!" He roared the move's name, adding just that right amount of satisfaction to performing the it. STUN BEAT BLOW has a chance of paralyzing Triceramon PROTECTOR'S SPIRIT is active, raising Katsuo's power by 50% and he can withstand one hit that would otherwise take him down. They all ran forth haphazardly, firing forth flames that simply sizzled out on the armor champion's wet scales. Harley adjusted her white jacket, thankfully made out of rain-proof material, pulling the hood over her hair to help shelter her from the pouring rain. As she began to zip it up, however, she caught the sight of the oncoming Rookie Digimon, and one of the Pepper Breath attacks. She wouldn't be able to shake off a burning flame as easily, even if it were dampened, but luckily she was able to move out of the way of the blast before it made contact. The embers quickly faded upon reaching the ground, signaling the girl to take further distance from the battle. This was all in her partner's hands at this point - though she did reach in her pocket, attempting to grab forth her deck of cards, then realizing they would likely be ruined upon making contact with the water. Hopeless. "Alright, ya little pains in the asses, it's time you got deleted!" The sea dragon roared, calling down a bolt of lightning from the storms above - his Thunderhead attack - which was aimed at one of the small dinosaur Digimon. The bolt electrocuted the Digimon, doing amplified damage from the rain, and jumping to the next Blackagumon - frying that one just as well. Both monsters vanished into clouds of data, causing the Seadramon to focus on the Triceramon. "THUNDERHEAD!" The Deep Saver Digimon shouted, calling forth another bolt of lighting at the larger triceratops monster, hopefully doing a little more damage than the last assault. active boosts: + rain: it is raining. fire's power is diminished. electricity's power is increased. + passive - walk in the rain: offensive power and movement speed raised when aquatic digimon are wet. attacks used: + thunderhead x2

Did Lisbeth just get dissed by David Bowie's daughter? She looked around briefly, checking behind the sea dragon thing, under a rock, above the big dinosaur, and in the hands of the smaller dinosaur thing. But no matter where she looked, she couldn't seem to find whoever the HELL the other tamer was ignoring! Putting her hands on her hips, she followed her further from the battlefield, determined to get her attention. "Oi, ya deaf, pal? Don'tcha know it's rude not ta talk back when someone's talkin' atcha? Jeez, the nerve'a some people..." She sighed, shaking her head. What a rude and unpleasant person. This is why Lisbeth could never make friends- they were all awful! Unrelated to Lisbeth's plight, Annelise managed to slide gracefully to the ground and away from the beast before the second onslaught began; as soon as she turned to face him again, she saw a huge fireball headed her way. Deftly, she tried avoiding it, but no dice; it hit her head-on, though fortunately, the pouring rain weakened it considerably. She grimaced at the weather and the pain- have you ever seen a cat that liked being stuck in the rain? Anyways, no matter how she looked at it, she saw few ways she could really be of much service here, as this thing was truly massive. But she could at least keep him occupied while Seadramon and Shadraman took care of business. She quickly darted around the Triceramon and when in good position, aimed a VIOLENT POUNCE at his tail, hoping to pin it down for at least a few minutes; hopefully with his tail grounded, he'd be less capable of lashing out any time soon. Then again, he may just end up focusing on her... Oi... Maybe luck was on her side for once.
