"Okay.... How did we get here after I followed that road?" asked the very confused Tamer, Yusuke Yamashita, who had been following the directions for this treasure map he had bought from a not so reliable source... A Ogremon was selling the piece of paper that he claimed came from an old friend that dreamed of finding the treasure before he had gotten too old to do so.
He then hears an exhausted "Why do I ever let you take the map? You constantly take us off the path and get s lost... I dont even think that that's leading us to a true treasure!" as his Patamon partner came up behind him, flying just above shoulder height as she complained about her friends navigational skills. Yusuke however, focuses on the map as a sun-warmed breeze blew across the top of the Red Canyon.
"We came this way, followed these paths.... went unde-Ohhh, we went through the wrong branch of that ruin, we needed to go left instead of right!" he says before turning around to a parched Patamon. "Can we stop for a minute? This fur doesn't help with all this heat." "Sure, let's take a break once we reach the ruins again." Yusuke says, and after a minute more of walking, they both are resting their feet, or in Crystals case, her wings.
"Now, if I we go this way..." Yusuke's voice bounces off the ancient halls as he uses his phone as a light "We should come to the place that the map leads us towards." the temperature in the ruins turned from sweltering hot by the doors to chilly in the depths of them. A chill ran down his spine, though it got warmer, as he turned a corner and saw a room with a pedestal, and on top of it was a strange, golden egg like object. There's a large hole, clearly caused by erosion... But something else catches the attention of the Patamon as Yusuke walks up to the hole, looking out over a beautiful view. The hole opened up to look over the setting sun and the pool of water at least 500 feet below the whole was a beautiful sapphire blue, and surrounded by many plants that made a small carpet of green.
All of a sudden Crystal shouted "Look out!" as the sounds of heavy footsteps came from the tunnel behind them. A Digimon came charging through and skids to a halt... Then it shouts "You trespassed on my watch! Face the wrath of Minotaurumon!" The Digimon that shouted those words looked like the often depicted Grecian myth, the Minotaur, only a zipper was in the front, scars covered the beast, and one of it's arms is a strange device that seamed to hum with a chilling energy.
Crystal attacks it first, as she unleashes a Sparkling Air Shot at the face of the new foe, barely causing the beast to flinch before it turns to Yusuke, and slams it's metal arm to the ground. The spots on the arm start to move in and out like pistons as the Minotaurumon shouts "Earthquake Drill!"
The Ground shakes and shatters as Yusuke feels the ground start to give way under him as he falls! Only for a split second tough as the blond teen grabs onto a crack that formed and holds on tight.
"Huh? Your not down yet?" asks the Minotaurumon as he takes another attack from the Patamon, this time detracting the thing with Thousand Wing "Take this!!!" shouts the Minotaur as it smacks it's metal arm into Crystal, sending her flying through the hole in the wall.
During the battle all Yusuke could do was hang on to the crack, and hope that Crystal could take it out. The Digimental started to glow, But as Crystal flew back in just in time to see it, but the crack that Yusuke was holding crumbles... Causing him to fall once more.
A flash causes him to close his eyes, he still held on to his hope though, and as he did a voice shouted out for him, though he didn't recognize it. He suddenly feels himself land on something hard and metallic, as he opens his eyes he sees himself on horse shaped creature, covered in golden armor and with a pair of wings that made the creature fly.
"Who? What?" Yusuke stutters from the adrenaline and the confusion, before the Digimon spoke again "Come on, you cant even find your footing? Why'd you have to be the one I chose as my partner?" the light-bulb flashes in Yusuke's mind as he says "Crystal?" "Who else would save you, dummy? Let me Finnish up here and I'll get us far away from this place."
She flew back up to where the Minotaurumon was watching, and Yusuke notices that the egg thing was gone. "You even stole my treasure!? I'll get you!" the aggressor shouts as he tries to hit the now Pegasmon, though he is unable to hit her from such a distance. The now flying equine charges up a beam that it soon blasts the Minotaur, coming from her forehead.
The thing stumbles back, clearly harmed from the beam an then says "Fine, keep it! I'm not able to use it anyway!" and starts to storm off...
After a minute of silence, Crystal pipes up "That was unexpected." The two then manage to find their way back to the city, though Cristal soon reverted to her Patamon form, the rest of the day was spent relaxing.
