HARLENE MCDEVIA | TAMER |
PERSONALITY "we're all animals. embrace it." Vulgar, disrespectful, cold, these negative terms could all be used to describe Harlene Celestia. Sincere, commanding, and brave are all positive terms that could be used to describe her, but truly, an individual can never be described with simply virtues and vices. She is not a very emotional human being, in fact, she seems to be detached from herself and the world. Outside of occasional displays of anger and irritation, her expressions could be best described as doll-like, as if they were lacking a certain light or flare that others were given at birth. She does not seem to take the manner of her life too seriously, often viewing grim situations with an eerie adoration. That being said, she has a very dark sense of humor. In fact, she is unable to find any amusement in any other forms of it. She is quick to joke about a misfortune of another person, or a misfortune of her own, and enjoys shock horror and morbid jokes. This leads to her being viewed as distasteful in front of others, as she often makes fun of very serious situations such as murder and destruction. She is vulgar and disrespectful as well, showing no display of tact in front of figures of authority and frequently cursing in her common speech. The New Yorker is also fairly fond of flat out ignoring people she doesn't like - believing that they don't deserve her attention. Overall, she has an air of entitlement to her, something that can really set off the more prideful types. To go along with this, Harley is also rather cocky when it comes to her skills. When she gets a lead in battle, she has absolutely no problem rubbing it in her opponent's face while pointing out their fallacies. This could be born with her obsessive nature - if she sets her mind out to something, she will complete it, no matter the sacrifice. Her behavior could be attributed to presumed mental disorders or just a flat out rotten personality. Harley has seen many therapists throughout her life, ironically wanting to become one when she grows up, and has received a number of approximate diagnosis. Some of these include manic depression, anger issues, paranoia, and even schizophrenia. Additionally, she obviously displays acts of sadism and masochism. None of these, however, have any medical backing to them. Despite all of the negativity surrounding her persona, Harley does have a softer side to her that she only allows her closest friends to witness. She has a number of somewhat surprising hobbies, such as taking a passionate interest in butterflies and bats, playing (dating simulator) video games, and indulging in anime. Perhaps her darkest kept secret is her interest in romantic novels, which are more than often supernaturally themed. Harlene in the end is a fairly loyal friend to those that she does become close with, often sacrificing herself or putting herself in danger for their sake, mostly due to her lack of concern about her well-being. She can be seen as brave to some, as she will often take on challenges that are much bigger than herself without hesitation. Ultimately, she guides her own fate.
APPEARANCE Harlene has a fairly phantasmagorical appearance, and she certainly doesn't blend into a crowd well, no matter how hard she tries. Her skin is a ghostly white, as if it were completely untouched by the sun. She often dyes her hairs whites and blacks to match and contrast with her skin color, though her natural color is in fact an arctic white. Perhaps out of all of these, the strangest feature she possesses is her multi-colored eyes, one being red, and the other a pale green. All of these abnormal conditions can be attributed to her partial albinism, a somewhat rare disorder that has plagued her life. Despite this, she is definitely not without beauty. Harley has been compared to a Yuki-Onna when she actually bothers to clean herself up - a beautiful snow-touched maiden-like demon from Japanese folklore. Her frame is smaller than most her age, but fairly curvy, making an object of desire to some. However, she usually doesn't go too out of her way to look pretty. Her usual attire consists of lots of black jeans, t-shirts, and jackets. She is into Gothic fashion at this moment in time, and dresses appropriately to so. She has a habit of matching her earrings with her eyes - wearing a ruby gem in one and a pearl in the other. Harley's voice is elegant, but yet littered with obscenities and covered with a thick Queens accent. She curses often, sometimes even placing fucks and shits in places where they don't make a lot of sense. INVENTORY ○ D-POWER DIGIVICE - A grey and seafoam green D-Power type Digivice. Other than the installed upgrades, there isn't too much special about it.
○ POCKET KNIFE - Hey, she didn't exactly grow up in the most friendly area of the world. She, as most New Yorkers do, keeps a small knife for self-defense purposes. ○ CELL PHONE - Nothing too fancy, but it is a smart-phone with internet functions. Very useful for instant messaging or checking out internet forums on the go. ○ COMPASS - It's a little off, but still works. Harley mostly keeps this because she likes the design upon it - which pictures a Medieval style dragon facing off against a noble knight. ○ MCMONBURGER - The staple refreshing McMonburger will provide you with a rejuvenating boost to energy and health, allowing you to recover lost fighting strength and help you push on past minor wounds. One per thread max. Consumable. (x2). ○ STRANGE MCJUICE - Only usable on Nightmare Soldiers Digimon. Increases damage, defense, and speed by 50% for two posts. However, for the remainder of the thread, they will be 50% weaker against attacks made by Virus Busters Digimon. One per thread max. Consumable. ○ MEAT - Yeah, this is a hunk of meat, commonly grown in gardens or found in candles within castles. The flavor is spicy and savory, while having a tender bite. Restores some health and energy upon consumption. Single use. ○ NIGHTRAVEN MAIL - A suit of midnight black armor with crimson accents. It seems to have an ominous shade over it, though this is simply due to the anti-reflective paint-job. It is crafted from black digizoid and is exceptionally hard - being able to take on the force of melee attacks from most humans and Digimon up to the Champion level without harming the wearer. This is not legendary armor, but a simple suit stolen from a dark overlord's castle as loot. It is comparable to Obsidian Digizoid armor. ○ BLOODFALLEN - A sword crafted from chrome Digizoid and coated in a black paint, and then further enchanted with dark magic to give it an edge that will never dull under any circumstance. Appearance-wise, the blade is a medieval-style longsword that is meant for two-hands, but can be swung with one at a lesser efficiency. It is surprisingly light, and as stated, will always remain at its sharpest. It is comparable to an Obsidian Digizoid blade. ○ GRANDRACMON'S MARK - A branding on the skin of the victim that takes the form of a deep crimson pentagram. The mark is located on the center of the victim's back, at the top of their spin, connecting the dark energy embedded within it directly to their nervous system. This mark cannot be removed, not even by magical or holy means, and has effectively become part of the victim, influencing them mentally and physically. This curse gives the victim a number of weaknesses - such as being unable to adapt to bright light and holy objects becoming anthema to the victim. Finally, perhaps the most unique weakness, is the fact that the victim will begin to find cooked food revolting; only being able to be satisfied by living flesh or data. The victim is also unable to visit the real world for more than six hours, digital code now being part of their system. However, this curse does have a number of bonuses. The victim will have complete control over Dark Digivolution and will be able to see clearly even in the blackest darkness. They will find their strength greatly increased, being able to lift at least four times then they were able to before the curse (while under the cover of night), and will find that they have grown sharpened fangs for the purpose of satisfying their new hunger. Effectively, by all means, this curse makes the victim a vampire. BIOGRAPHY Harlene Celestia McDevia was born in the crowded city of New York City - and it was all she knew for most of her childhood, and for that matter, life. Her family was not wealthy enough to travel anywhere outside of down the street, so she found adventure in video games, in card games, and in the streets around here. Harley, as she preferred to be called, hardly acted like a girl in her childhood. Her striking white hair and differently colored eyes led her to be the subject of bullying among girls her age - while boys thought it was neat in some aspect - or perhaps they were simply happy to talk to a member of the opposite sex. Regardless, she spent much time away from home and in the streets playing with rougher kids her age. It was from these children that she picked up some of her best and worst habits - the ability to fend for yourself, the knowledge of how to survive alone - but yet the vices of addiction and selfishness. Her parents noticed this behavior - and eventually moved her out of their home to give her a change of environment. Harley's later years were spent with her grandmother, in a somewhat higher cost of living area of New York. There wasn't much to do around in the streets - her old friends and acquaintances having been stripped from her. She became more engrossed in hobbies such as martial arts, but found herself having trouble adapting to her new surroundings. Eventually, this led to unearthing of several mental issues, which in turn led to countless sessions of therapy - which she always found to be fairly stupid. There was nothing wrong with her, it was all personality, she told herself. Nowadays her sessions are far less frequent, and she has found her way back to inner city New York.... | NICKNAMES ○ harley. (hates her full name to a great extent) ○ nemesis.
