Madeline sat near the abandoned train cabin, her body looked frail and tired. She looked thin, underfed and maybe a little bit insane. She had no one to talk to but the small eggs that were huddled together in a batch of straw. Four eggs, all having different kinds of colors. One white with red stripes, one completely blue with white stripes, the third completely white. But the fourth? Madeline felt drawn to the fourth DigiEgg, it was white with pink blurred spots. For the past few days, she had dreams of someone telling her that this egg was going to be the best friend she ever had. 
The girl cackled a laugh, how could an egg be a girls best friend? She was slowly becoming insane, wasn't she?

The young girl had curled up around the eggs inside the train cabin. She was snoring softly until she heard noises coming from outside. 
Sleepily, Madeline rubbed her eyes and got up to peek out of one of the windows. Only to be met with a large, and ominous red eye. 
The girl let out a scream, and the cabin was raised into the air while a few enemies began to shake the train cabin. 
Hurriedly, she grabbed all the eggs tightly to her chest so nothing could happen to them.

Madeline groaned as her body was slammed to the ground, the four eggs rolling away from her as she cried for help. 
"Please-- don't hurt them.." She whispered eventually, her voice hoarse from screaming. 
The MetalGreymon smirked. "I'm sorry, lass, but it's kill or be killed in this world.. sorry that you won't be the one to see how it all ends.."
The ultimate level wasn't sorry. Not one bit. But he spoke the truth when he said it was kill or be killed.

MetalGreymon's twin, WarGrowlmon picked up the human. The dragonic digimon laughed in her face as she began to cry. "Oh and.. I lied.." the MetalGreymon whispered, the tone in his voice light with humor. "I'm not sorry."
The WarGrowlmon snapped Madeline clean in half, disposing her like she was nothing.

The ultimate twins equally shared the DigiEggs, as they sat looking at their perfect meal. "You know, brother. I think this is the best data I'll have ever had." Said the WarGrowlmon, raising the first egg into the air and ripping the data from it. The ultimate started feeling a little bit stronger, it was still not satisfied. 
"Hm, I don't know. DigiEggs always seem to be so weak.." Said the MetalGreymon in an annoyed tone, as he was stripping the data from the second egg. 
"Well, it's something. At least these things can't run away from us." The WarGrowlmon replied, raising the third egg and inhaling the data like it was some kind of drug. 

The twins dropped the eggs, which were now but empty shells, to the ground. 
"So, brother. What are we going to do next?" The MetalGreymon asked, raising the fourth and last egg into the air. He already began stripping the data.. until...

The trio had to hurry! They had received an emergency signal from a new digivice nearby and it was clear to see why. As He road on the back of Remy as Garurumon with Renae running alongside as Kyubimon Adam noticed on his digivice that two digimon were closing in on the signal. As the trio ran,Adam clenched his teeth as a fear that they wouldn't make it. As they got closer however, Adam's fears were realized as he saw a metalgreymon and metalgrowlmon attacking a young human girl who was trying to save a group of digi-eggs.

"Hurry guys!!"

Time seemed to slow as the metalgrowlmon picked up the girl in front of Adam's eyes and crushed her like she was nothing but paper, this sight caused a large swell of pain in Adam's heart as he watched her body drop and egg after egg be grabbed and absorbed as they ran. The pain was quickly replaced by rage as they tossed up the final egg.

"We are not failing that egg too!!!"

Both Renae and Remy nodded as they stepped up their speed. As they got in close, Remy quickly jumped over the two ultimate digimon towards the air and as he did, Adam wrapped his arms around the partially drained digi-egg. As the two landed Remy took off at top speed towards the lake that the trio frequented. As her brother and her tamer ran, Renae ran toward the twin ultimates and as she went to jump over her many tails caught fire and then she made the flames fly at the ultimates as a distraction.

"Fox tail inferno!"

As the attack went flying and Renae landed she broke into a run once more and easily caught up to her family. The trio easily made their way to the lake before they stopped. Once they did, Adam just slid off of Remy before both he and his sister turned back into their rookie states, both having concerned looks as their tamer just felt to his knees holding the egg they managed to save looking like he might cry.

"Did...did that just happen?"

Renae just bit her lip and put her hand on her tamers shoulder.

"We can't let that girls sacrifice be in vein. She gave her life for those eggs and for this egg. We can't let her life be a waste."

Adam looked up at Renae with tears in his eyes before hugging the egg close to him.

"I swear I won't."

The Metalgreymon and Wargrowlmon sputtered in surprise as the last egg was being yanked away from them by a blurry figure. "H-hey!" The Wargrowlmon said, looking at his brother before both of their expressions changed into anger. "Give that back, you thief!" The MetalGreymon shouted, but ultimately got distracted by Renae's fox tail inferno. The thieves were too quick, not to mention the dragon twins were too big to actually catch up to them.
"Those.. rascals!" The huge red dragon spat, getting to his feet to kick the remaining empty eggshells. "I suppose we have to find ourselves a new meal, brother.." "Aye." Replied the MetalGreymon sullenly.
The dragon twins started walking, having no regrets about what happened this night.
Right there, out in the open, laid a broken digivice. The screen only showed the following message.

It was still dark out, and the egg that had been saved looked like it had took quite the beating. Claw marks and tiny holes covered the severly damaged Egg, and it almost looked like it would not hatch anymore.

Though, all of a sudden, the egg twitched. Showing a tiny sign of life. It wasn't much, but at least it meant that the digimon inside was still alive and kicking. Not to mention it probably meant that it was close to hatching too.

Right when the situation looked heartbreaking, the egg began to tremble and crack. The upper half separated from the egg, and in the darkness, only a pair of yellow eyes were staring right into Adam's eyes. They looked empty, for some reason, like a monster had been born.

As Adam cradled the egg he couldn't help but jump a little bit as it shook and then began to crack open. As the little yellow eyes peered out at him Adam noticed that the eyes seemed to have no emotion in them. What would normally throw up a red flag for him was over shadowed by his guilt and his sadness. He had made a promise and he was going to keep it no matter what happened. Renae and Remy however peered inside the egg looking a little nervous as the emotionless expression.

"Hey little guy, welcome to the world. My name's Adam and these are my digimon Remy and Renae and we are gonna take very good care of you."

Remy and Renae quickly stepped forward, eyes full of caution towards the new baby digimon and worry for their tamers emotional state. The two digimon just looked at one another silently as if they were having a silent conversation. This lasted a few minutes before Renae stepped and knelt down next to Adam with a worried look as she used her paw to wipe his eyes clean of tears. She then used said paw to lift up her tamers chin.

"Adam sweetheart, don't you think that we should go back and bury that girl and pick up her digivice? We can't just leave her there it's not right."

Adam stayed silent for a moment as he looked down into the opened egg before looking back at the motherly digimon standing before him. Even though he couldn't see his own eyes, it was clear that something inside him had changed like something inside of the young tamer had been wounded by what he had witnessed.

"You're right Renae. I'll let you watch the baby while Remy and I take care of it."

Adam then gave Renae the egg before taking out his digivice and pointing it at Remy causing him to be swallowed up by an egg of green energy.

"Renamon digivolve to!..Garurumon!"

When the egg shattered and Remy landed on his feet, Adam just climbed onto his champions back and the two road off at top speed towards the site where the girl had been killed. It didn't take long before they arrived in front of the body and the broken digivice. Adam just climbed off of Remy and knelt down and stroked the girls cheek as Remy began to use his claws to dig a deep hole.

"I'm so sorry we didn't make it. We will take care of your digimon I promise you."

once the hole was dug, Adam picked up the girl bridal style and gently put her in the hole. Remy then quickly began to fill the hole as Adam's eyes began to fill with tears of regret and shame. As he cried he looked down to see the girls broken digivice which had the words "critical error, innificiant data detected." Adam just held the digivice out at Remy for him to read before slipping it in his coat pocket for safe keeping.

"We will have to keep an eye on that baby digimon."

The Botamon watched the human, usually this would indicate the digimon's curiousity, but there was none found in his eyes. They were just.. plain yellow. Babies were supposed to have some kind of light in them, joy, or any kind of emotion. But there was nothing, just a sea of complete emptiness. It was like looking at the Dark Ocean, a mythical place where only a few digidestined had been in the past.

When Adam introduced himself to them, the Botamon did not even bother to say anything. He just remained quiet, looking at Adam as he was speaking. The fresh digimon was observing the human's lips, like it was interested in the movement they made.
Remy and Renae stepped forward, making the Botamon turn just slightly. He blinked, and then opened his mouth like he wanted to speak. Instead, he revealed a large bubble that popped as soon as it left his mouth. Instead, it seemed the two Renamon were just looking at each other. Their expression was something the Botamon had never seen before.

Then the Female Renamon bent down to Adam's level and used her paw to rub a bit of water away from his face. How that got there? The fresh digimon had no idea. She then lift up her tamers chin with the same paw.
Her voice.. it seemed to soothe the dull ache in the Botamon's body. It almost looked like a lullaby. The fresh digimon shut his eyes, and then softly began purring, as if it was content listening to the female Renamon's voice.

Though, as the voice was gone, the Botamon looked up again and noticed that Adam was talking, something about watching the baby while Remy and him took care of something.
The fresh digimon was placed into the Renamon's paws, and all he could do was look up at her with those eerie empty eyes. He did not even bother to look at what was going on behind him.

While Renae waited for her brother and her tamer to return she looked down into the egg and used her finger to gently stroke the digimons little head. She then gave it a small gentle smile as she tried to not think about the fact that this baby digimon would never get to meet it's tamer. Renae had watched that girl die without being able to help her. Renae had to make sure to keep the very same promise that her tamer had made of protecting this little one and making sure it had a happy life. Renae just kept smiling at the baby digimon.

"What's your name little one? What does mama Renae call you? She promises to keep you safe."

The female Renamon then gently reached inside the egg to pull the baby digimon out of it. Once that was done she gently cradled the baby and began to rock it gently in her arms. She had always been the motherly type thanks to having been around her young tamer for so long but this would be taking it to a whole other level. It wasn't long until Adam and Remy returned both looking sadder and more worried then ever. As they approached and Adam hopped off Remy, the champion level digimon turned back into his rookie form and then walked over to his sister with a sad look on his face.

"The deed is done but there is something you need to look at later."

The female digimon just nodded at her brother and watched as her young heartbroken tamer walked to the very edge of the lake where the water met the land and just sat down and began looking out at the horizon. The group had taken a major blow this day, Renae wasn't sure how long it would take them to recover.

The Botamon was lift out of his remaining eggshells, eyes never leaving the female Renamon's face. The Renamon's mouth curled upwards, but the fresh digimon had no idea what she was actually doing. It looked like her face was deformed that way, maybe a little bit dangerous cause she was showing a bit of teeth. The Botamon purred, not feeling a sense of happiness or a sense of danger. It was all foreign to the baby.

His.. name? His yellow eyes did not avert from her gaze, it was starting to get a little bit creepy now.
The Botamon opened his mouth, blowing another bubble that popped right in front of Renae's face. "Do not own name." He spoke for the very first time, his voice however.. sounded awfully monotone, if not a little bit distorted. Like he was a computer digimon of some sorts.
Then it seemed his thoughts had caught up on something. Had the digimon just.. called herself mama? The Botamon finally broke the eerie stare, noticing the human and the digimon reappearing on the scene. Had they left? He was not sure.
The other Renamon met up with the female one, and the Botamon looked up at them again. He opened his mouth once again. "Ma-ma." He said, and then turned to the male Renamon. "Pa-pa." It almost looked like this digimon needed to be taught how to speak, because it all sound so prematurely.. Perhaps the two ultimates had taken a lot more data from him than expected.

Renae and Remy both blushed a large blush as the little nameless digimon called them mama and papa. The two digimon looked at once another with a confused gaze. The two were brother and sister and not a romantic couple but this baby digimon obviously saw them as it's care takers and per their promise to care for it since it's tamer was now dead they couldn't turn it away. The two silently agreed with one another that for now at least it was acceptable. Renae stroked the little Botamon's head and thought about how the botamon said that he didn't own a name. Renae kept petting the baby digimon as she thought. She then smiled as she thought of a cute name.

"How about we call you Koichi?"

Remy smiled at the name and then nodded while doing his best to look happy for the seemingly emotionless baby digimon. As Renae tended to their new family member Koichi, Remy just tapped her shoulder causing her to look back at her brother who pointed over at Adam who was throwing rocks into the lake absent mindedly while staring at the broken d-1 digivice.

"Why couldn't we be strong enough to save you? Why couldn't we run faster? Why was I not good enough?! I'm the leader of the lightsworn! I have champion twin digimon! It's not fair!"

Hearing the pain in his tamers voice, Remy walked over to Adam and sat down next to the young boy. He then did something that he often didn't do and pulled his tamer closer with his paw stroking the side of the young tamers head. This was all that was needed for the young boy to finally break down and begin to  cry his eyes out. This was the first great battle loss that the trio had suffered since their journey had begun. As Remy cared for his broken down tamer he looked over at his sister as if to silently ask if she thought their tamer would come back from this. Renae just nodded as she began to hum a gentle lullaby to Koichi so that the baby would fall asleep so that the adults could talk about what their next move would be. What ever that move was, they needed to make it soon.

The Botamon had no clue why Remy and Renae were blushing, let alone that he knew what blushing was. "Your faces have a deeper shade." He spoke with a monotone voice, the distortion in his tone quite noticeable. "Why is that?" The black blob asked, as Renae was stroking his head. The fresh digimon did not show anything that indicated if it liked the touch or not.

"I am quite fond of that name." the Botamon replied when Renae said why not to call him Koichi. He watched the male Renamon smile, eyes unblinking in an eerie stare. "Papa," he said, "are you constipated?" Koichi asked, hoping for an explanation for the weird look that Remy just had. The Botamon simply didn't know what a smile was.
Remy then tapped Renae on her shoulder, he could see them both look away from him. The Botamon turned in Renae's paws to look at the human that seemed to be upset, not that Koichi understood why, or what exactly was going on with him. "Is he constipated too?" Koichi asked, but Remy walked away to leave him with his 'mother' again. He turned a little, eyes unblinking again. Though as she started singing, the young digimon actually began to get tired. His eyes slowly fluttered shut, and soon he was snoring peacefully in her paws.

Once Koichi was asleep and all was calm, Renae quickly got up and walked over to her brother and her tamer and gently sat down next to them. She wished that she could take away the pain that both boys felt but she knew that it was impossible. This was the groups first great battle loss and so now it was time to see if it would make or break them. As the baby digimon slept she just gently tapped her tamers shoulder to make him look at her. She then tapped his coat and then pointed at Koichi. Adam understood and just slipped his coat off and offered it to Renae. Once she had the soft coat she gently wrapped Koichi in it like a baby bundle and just sat him down in her lap.

"We will get justice for her Adam I promise you but right now we have a few more important things to focus on. You need to rest and once you do you will feel better."

Renae then gently used her paw to push Adam onto his back and gave him a stern look. Truth be told Adam was far emotionally and physically tired to argue and so he just curled up on his side and shut his eyes. Deciding to follow their tamers lead, Renae and Remy lied back on their backs while Koichi slept on Renae and just shut their eyes in hopes that when they woke up things would be better for them.

And so the other three had fallen asleep after this pretty traumatic day. Even Koichi, who seemed to be lacking a great portion of his data and who knew something was missing, had nestled himself into the female Renamon's arms.
Though, the peace was soon disturbed by a somewhat annoying beeping noise.

When the trio would wake up, they would find themselves missing their newest member to the team. The Botamon had gone missing. In response, it was Koichi's digivice that was beeping madly, quite possibly alerting enemy digimon in the jungle.
The object was vibrating, the screen flickering on and off.
There was definitely something wrong.

Before the trio had woken up, the Botamon had shuffled away. He felt the sudden change in the atmosphere, it was pressuring, dark. The fresh digimon whimpered, before he was surrounded by black streams of data. They were latching onto him, hurting him, mauling him. Koichi could not think, everything happened so fast-- he had turned into his In-training form, Chorkimon. Which he had not even noticed.

The pup took a few steps before collapsing into the grass, not used to the feeling of having limbs. His tiny paws started twitching frequently, the pressuring atmosphere was still there. It was nipping at him, biting him as he was trying to resist whatever was going on.
Koichi had his eyes shut, emitting puppy-like whines like he was being tortured to death.

Then, the darkness had found a breach. Koichi's eyes widened-- emitting a blood curdling scream right before he was swallowed by darkness.

The forest had gotten quiet, nobody dared to make a noise. For the beast had awakened.

Koichi's digivice, still in Adam's possession, had stopped vibrating.
The screen had a few messages written on them.

As the trio woke up and slowly rubbed their eyes, it wasn't long before all three of them noticed that Koichi had gone missing and that a small buzzing was coming from Adam's rolled up Jacket. The young Wild boy quickly reached into his coat pocket and pulled out the busted up digivice and saw the messages on the cracked screen which caused his eyes to go wide and his face to be covered in worry. He had a feeling something like this would happen.

"Guys we need to find Koichi before he goes on a rampage!"

Both twin digimon quickly stood up and nodded and without another word jumped into the trees along with their tamer to go off in search. As they jumped through the trees effortlessly the group felt the worry inside them grow. Their little buddy was corrupted due to being attacked as an eng so they were not sure what he was capable of accomplishing or what he would be willing to do to someone else. As the trio traveled by trio, Adam moved over to Renae and looked over at her with a small smile.

"Don't worry, we will find him and bring him home. We are able to reach a higher form then he can so it's not like he can hurt us and I promise we won't hurt him either. We just gotta convince him to come back."

Renae just nodded at her tamer in hopes he was right

The Strabimon was looking down at his claws, his red eyes ominous in the dark. His mind was a complete haze, fragments of faces that he could not recognize. They looked worried, scared, the Strabimon growled and shook his head. As if to clear the haze that was blocking him from thinking straight. The branch he was sitting on cracked, and the Strabimon jumped higher.

Right at that moment, his nose picked up a scent. It was sickly sweet, like it was humming a lullaby to him. Apparently, he had an affinity for picking up scents.
Koichi jumped down from the tree, right in front of a Tokomon that was trying to find his way back to whoever was taking care of it.
The in-training shrieked, eyes widening as he was staring right in the menacing face of Koichi.
The rookie bared his teeth in a wicked grin, he raised his claw and--

He slashed right through the Tokomon, killing it in one hit. The pig like digimon dissipated into thin air, and Koichi absorbed all of the data that the in-training had provided him. The Strabimon smirked, before his ears picked up another sound.

"Don't worry, we'll find him and bring him home." He heard, the rookie jumped up in a tree as he hid himself behind the leafs. Only a pair of red eyes were visible.
Koichi narrowed his eyes as he observed the trio that was approaching. Two Renamon and a human. The faces though.. they seemed familiar.
The Strabimon growled, but before the digimon could do anything else-- there was a sharp pain in his head. He grasped it, with both claws as he uttered an animalistic roar.

The digivice that Adam was carrying made another strange beeping noise, indicating that something was happening again.

Koichi began to scream, as once again the darkness had gotten a hold of him. The Strabimon dropped out of the tree, on to the ground as he writhed in pain. His body began to illuminate as he tried to push his upper body from the ground.

"Ghh-- ghhrrr!" He grunted, before his body changed shape, growing bigger-- stronger.. Koichi could do nothing to stop it, his mind was completely numb. Only the darkness was whispering now.

The light shattered, and now, there stood a menacing Fangmon, fangs bared, eyes glowing with madness.

As the trio jumped through the trees, determained to find their new friend they could feel the ominous force surrounding the little digimon begin to grow and darken. As they got closer, Adam heard the broken digivice begin to beep once more like it had done when Koichi had digivolved the first time. The first time he digivolved he had gone straight to rookie which meant this time he was about to reach champion. As the team closed in they saw Koichi fall out of the tree and grab his head in pain as it seemed he was being forced to digivolve. The trio quickly jumped out of tree and as they landed Renae ran to try and get close to her new son.

"Koichi! It's okay now, mama is here to make you feel better! We aren't gonna hurt you I promise!"

Fearing for his twin sisters well being, Remy jumped in front of her with a small snarl. He already had strong feelings of love for the corrupted digimon who they had saved but that didn't mean that to save his tamer and his sister he wouldn't destroy the no longer not so little digimon. The rookie digimon braced himself but something felt off..Remy looked back Adam who was shaking while looking at the broken digivice like he was about to cry. Remy looked at Renae who looked just as panicked and hesitant about what they might have to do.

"I guess I'm on my own! I'm sorry about this little guy, papa loves you!"

Remy then jumped into the air and spread his arms and launched a large barrage of diamond hard leaves at Koichi.

"Diamond storm!"

Adam just looked up from the broken digivice to see his digimon attacking Koichi in order to keep him and his sister safe. He needed to get his act together or they were done for, but Adam couldn't bring himself to destroy a digimon who had already lost so much. Adam just looked down at the broken digivice as a few tears dripped onto it.

"I don't know if you can hear me..If you are still connected to Koichi somehow..but please if you are there..Help us save him!!"

The Fangmon cowered as Renae jumped down from that tree and approached him. Her words did not seem to go through to him, as they were just blurred noises into his ears.
Remy jumped in front of Renae, the Renamon had a snarl on his face. Koichi only looked back at him, his jaws turning into a wicked grin. Koichi's opponent braced himself, and the Fangmon tilt his head. What was that rookie trying to do? Then, he noticed. Their human was emotional.
Fangmon's grin returned, before he took a step closer and snarled at the Renamon, who decided to take matter into his own paws and started talking to him again.

Didn't they understand? Talking was not going to help, words did not mean anything to the wolf-like digimon. Darkness had spread into his data, there was nothing they could do. It had already settled, deep within the digimon's heart. It was pointless to even try.

Remy jumped into the air, and the Fangmon watched the Renamon with cautious eyes. As the rookie released his Diamond storm, the Fangmon swiftly jumped aside. This had gotten him closer to Adam and Renae.
Koichi turned his head when Adam looked up from the broken digivice. The Fangmon's eyes were nothing like the Botamon's. These were filled with hatred, anguish, pain..
Pain of.. having lost something, but unable to figure out what.
As Adam now looked down, the Fangmon saw his chance. The wolf lunged for the tamer, claws ready to maul him. But right as he did so, a single tear landed on the digivice Adam was holding.

"I don't know if you can hear me.. If you are still connected to--" The voice was cut off, and there was only silence.

Everything was moving slowly, Fangmon had jumped into the air, claws spread. This would certainly gravely injure Adam once it connected.

"Hey pal.."

That voice. That soothing, melodic voice.
It sound so familiar.. the vibrations were slowly cleansing his body. And mid-jump, the Fangmon was illuminated with a bright light.

"I'll always be with you.." And then the voice was gone.

Everything came rushing back, and Koichi flew right at Adam. Though, he was no longer in his champion form-- but, in his In-training form.
The pup flew right into the human's arms, staring up at him. As Koichi was watching the tamer's expression, something was going on with Koichi that he had never.. felt.. before.
Chorkimon's red eyes, were now watering with what looked like.. tears?
Koichi blinked, looking at Renae and then back at Adam. "Why.. are my eyes wet?"
