The end of a chase [Adam]

The Vale Highlands were always a pleasant sight to witness as she made her journey back to Triton City. After the events at the Triton City Tournament Reikiko had started to consider the place something akin to a base, or perhaps a home in a manner of speaking. On this particular day she had just returned from a trip to the East, seemingly having decided to return to Triton City to gather supplies before her journey would begin. She had a mission, a quest of some sort to accomplish. It was quite an important mission, but the nature of the mission left her rather excited and eager to start. But then again, there were some things she would need to settle someday.

There was no doubt that the Shin-Sekai would obtain plenty of enemies when they finally set things into motion, even with the presence of the Seven reinforcing their influence. And obviously there would be foolish heroes who wanted to preserve what they continued a peaceful world. They wanted to stop the Seven, and in their ignorance didn't realize how futile their attempts to resist were. Yes, she would have to come to terms that someday she would need to convince Yana of the fact the world the Seven wanted to create was much more of an utopia than this stale dystopia the Olympus Eleven had forced the Digital World into. She would succeed, or become forced to stand at the opposite ends of a conflict with the girl someday.

Speaking of conflicts, she couldn't help but sigh loudly as the Shademon, who like always was wrapped around her body stirred lightly, as if to warn her of something. She didn't need any warnings, in the end this encounter was one she had anticipated... although one she would have had preferred to avoid.

She lowered her gaze sideways, eyes settling upon the black raptor by her side. Kuro must had felt it also, the approaching presence, for he raised his gaze to match her own, asking in a curious tone.

"What do you plan to do Aneki?"

The girl considered her options. If she fled, then it would simply be a matter of time before this encounter would repeat itself, and it would continue without any end in sight. The girl sighed, almost with a hint of melancholy as she replied in a curt tone.

"We'll deal with them today."

The answer seemed to please Kuro as the two turned toward the lower elevation that the hill descended toward, knowing all too well that they were being pursued by someone.

"You do realize that what you are doing right now, would legit be able to be classified as Stalking. How long will you keep on chasing me Adam?"

The girl's eyes narrowed in their gaze, the shadows around her body stirring lightly as she drawn a hand into the dark substance next to her, retrieving a black digivice.

"Well, you caught up to me, so how about telling me what type of curious reasoning you have for sticking to me like a bee to a flower?"

The day had finally arrived. Adam and his twins had been working out in the gym inside "The Watch" HQ when they had gotten the call. They had been asked by their master to come to the intel room to be given an S class mission, a mission that only they or the master himself could have a chance to complete. Once they gathered they were told that a member of the Shin-Sekai had been mobilized. When Adam asked which member it was he was a bit shocked to hear that it was the person he considered a good friend Rei and her digimon Kuro and the reason they were really asked to take care of it was because Adam felt responsible for her.

Once Adam changed into their official robes, he had Remy and Renae digivolve to champion level so that they could travel quickly. He then hopped on Renae's back and they were off. As they traveled Renae could sense how tense her tamer was about fighting someone he considered a real friend. Remy also sensing this looked over at his tamer as he ran.

"I know you want to try and save her from that Shademon but we can't pull our punches and let her and her team take innocent lives! If we are gonna stop her we need your head in the game! Are you sure you can do this!?"

Knowing that his digimon was right, Adam gulped and just nodded silently as they entered the Vale highlands. Once he saw Rei coming down the hill while speaking to him asking him why he clung to her, he just got off of Renae's back and walked toward her a bit with a serious but sad expression on his face.

"I'm trying to save you from that leech attached to you! It's changed you and is trying to kill you! This time is different though. I'm not here just for you but for the world at large. I know you joined Shin-sekai and are planning to do some horrible things. I may consider you a friend but I refuse to let you slaughter thousands in the name of order! Today I stand against you not as just a concerned friend but as a member of the watch!"

Adam's digivice which hung under his neck and was hidden under his robes began to glow a bright green causing both Renae and Remy to get swallowed up by green energy orbs.

"Garurumon digivolve to!...Ware-Garurumon!"

"Kyubimon digivolve to!...Taomon!"

When the orbs shattered, both ultimate digimon were released and stood behind Adam and awaited orders.

"Keep kuro busy by any means needed. I'm getting that shadow off of her if it's the last thing I do."

Without a word the trio went on the move. Remy ran on his two strong legs while Renae rode on her seal transport like a sort of hover board. The two digimon covering Adam as he ran behind them. This was the fight that they wished never had to happen but the day was here and if they were gonna save not only their friend but also the world they had to win.

"How did you..."

She seemed a bit surprised at Adam's accusation of her joining the Shin-Sekai. To be entirely honest, she had not expected anyone outside of a select group to know that bit of information. Of course Adam's eagerness to talk soon spilled the beans on how he had obtained this knowledge: some form of organization known as 'The Watch.'

The girl sighed loudly at Adam's declaration of wanting to save her from the Shademon, causing her eyes to narrow as she replied, her tone clearly showing hints of anger.

"Will you stop pushing your ideals upon me? I DON'T WANT TO BE SAVED!"

A light nod was made toward Kuro, causing the black raptor to step forwards to stand defiantly before the transforming twins of the boy. It seemed they wanted a fight, then the Champion of Triton would give it to them!"

"Digi-armor ENERGIZE!"

A sudden flash came from her digivice as a black egg of sorts flashed from above Kuro's body, the egg slowly lowering itself into his body as he seemed to undergo a metamorphosis of some sorts, turning into the tall Antlyamon.

"Kuro..."

The killer bunny turned his gaze at her, watching the girl raise a thump upwards, before slowing shifting it sideways, and finally turned it downside entirely.

"Crush them."

It was a command spoken in a cold, borderline heartless tone as Kuro nodded and inhaled sharply, a sudden black substances slowly seeping out of his mouth and a moment later the Antlyamon disappeared from sight. He had entered the cover of stealth, secretly sneaking straight toward his enemies through his invisibility while Reikiko's gaze lingered onto the boy behind the transformed twins.

"It seems that my words don't reach you Adam, then let Despair do it instead!"

However, at the same time Reikiko curiously enough started to also shimmer out of sight, seemingly disappearing into the shadows like her Digimon did. Silently she walked among the darkness, waiting for Kuro to arrive at the point he needed to be at, and then it was... show-time!

"You were a fool to challenge me Adam, and I'll make sure you realize there is nothing more idiotic than YOU trying to save me."

The voice came from nearby, while she shot the boy a disgusting glare while observing the ongoing battle, knowing all too well what was going to happen next. Just a bit longer before Kuro would be ready to proceed with what she had planned, and at that point it was just a matter of dealing with Adam.

"You wouldn't understand my feelings anyway, too selfishly absorbed in your own 'wants' and 'needs'. Wanting to save people who don't want to be saved... how ridiculous."

It was at that point Kuro seemingly moved, appearing right behind the Taomon who he attempted to ambush from within the darkness. There was no way that the Digimon should have known Kuro attempted to attack her from behind, and if she didn't evade the attack, she would find Kuro's long arms embrace the Taomon from behind, coiling around her neck in a embrace before trying to choke it hard.

It wouldn't have killed her if the attack landed, but the severe nature of the attack would have made the Taomon take severe, almost lethal damage, as if she had been hit by a Mega tier Digimon!

"Over here..."

A soft whisper reached Adam's ear as Reikiko revealed herself to had been standing right behind the boy, a large tendril of the Shademon lashing forwards in an attempt to knock the boy into his stomach. While it was not enough to kill him, the tentacles were said to have the strength of a champion digimon, more than enough to knock Adam off his feet and several meters through the air.

"I think I found a way to make you despair... a way to make you understand why I don't want, or can't be saved~"

Kuro has evolved into his Armored Ultimate form and proceeded to use:

○ Killer Bunny - By exhaling a dark mist Kuro is able to shroud himself into the shadows, making him enter stealth for two rounds, one round cooldown upon exiting stealth

Rei and Kuro have both entered stealth (Rei thanks to Kuro's passive)

Kuro sneaked up behind the Taomon, attempting to choke her from behind.

○ Manta Chant: Dark Embrace - Considered Kuro's ace technique, by rapidly ambushing the enemy from behind the Antlyamon attempts to wrap his arms around the opponent and pull them into a choke-hold, stunning them for one round. However, this has a peculiar special feature, in the sense that if Kuro uses this while in stealth the attack will be considered of Mega level in damage. Has a 3 rounds cooldown upon use

Reikiko appeared behind Adam and tried to use one of her tendrils to send Adam flying a few meters through the air.

Things had already gone south and fast! As Rei had Kuro armor digivolve into his ultimate armor form and then suddenly both of them were gone. All three of the trio looked around as Rei began to talk about he needed to stop trying to save her and that it was a fruitless effort. This made Adam rather angry because he refused to believe that the words were really coming from his friend. Adam looked around as he tried to locate the sound of her voice.

"This isn't you! That monster has poisoned your mind and soul! You're my friend! I have faith in you! Please let us help you!"

It was then that Adam heard Rei's voice from behind him. Luckily his jungle boy reflexes allowed him to turn around and use his arms to block the shademon's attack but was still sent flying backward. As he flew back into the air he curled his body and forced his feet back onto the ground, using his hands to skid to a stop, snarling as he did.

"I'm going to rip you off of her Shademon and have my digimon rip you to pieces! I won't let her die!"

While Adam was preoccupied with Rei, Renae sadly didn't react fast enough to dodge or deflect her foes attack and felt Kuro's arms around her neck doing massive damage causing her to scream causing both Adam and Remy to turn around. Remy quickly broke into a run toward his sister and jumped toward her and their foe, using his claws to slash at Kuro's head to get him to release her.

"Wolf Claw!"

When his sister was able to get away, Remy caught her and helped her stay on her feet as Adam turned toward his attention towards them.


"No holding back! True Team work!"

Both digimon nodded and Adam's digivice began to glow bright green once more. This glow almost completely covering Adam as both Remy and Renae were swallowed by energy orbs which shot into the air.

"Ware-Garurumon dna digivolve to!!..

"Taomon dna digivolve to!!..

When the orbs combined in the air they shattered to reveal Silphymon a full powered ultimate level digimon who levitated in the air.

"Silphymon!"

The dna digimon crossed their arms with a fang like snarl and a flex of their muscles.

"Let's do this!"

Once Adam saw that his twins were combined into their fully powered form he turned back toward Rei with a grin which he tried to use to hide his inner savage rage.

"We aren't going down so easy!"

Adam then ran for Rei and decided to uncharacteristically send a few claw like swipes at her as well as a few hard kicks. He wasn't trying to seriously hurt her. He only wanted to try and take her in in hopes that the teams master could possibly rip shademon off her without killing her.

It appeared Adam wasn't going to listen to her no matter what she said. With the boy's desperate attempts to sweep his arms at her, claw-like slashes mixed in with kicks, the boy would have realized his efforts were futile, for the Shademon's strength was far superior than his human body could ever dream of obtaining. Tendrils lashed out at each attack, not only perfectly parrying each attack, but even likely causing the boy to feel the increasing pain of bruising, to the point that if he kept attacking her, he would likely be spraining his limbs, perhaps even break them once Reikiko stopped toying around with him.

The savage wolf claw that reached for his head made Kuro twist his body, having already inflicted enough damage onto the Taomon to ensure his plan would succeed, and with several nimble hops he narrowly evaded the projectile launched his way. As the two Digimon started to merge together into one new form Reikiko's eyes narrowed for a moment, giving Adam a look of disdain while sighing loudly at how stubborn this kid had been.

"You really don't get it... I once was just like you Adam. A naive girl who cared nothing more than making her friends happy, to support and protect them and do the things a hero would do."

She slowly raised her fingertips toward her right eye, and slowly seemed to close it, removing the colored lens that had covered her iris. To Adam it might had been a shocking sight to see the yellow iris, the reason the girl was assumed to had heterochormia to be in fact a lie. Instead an eerie white eye covered it, the looks of it clearly betraying the blindness in her right eye.

"That kindness and heroism cost me my eye Adam! My right eye is entirely useless within the real world, simply because I was a selfless moron! And that wasn't the end of it..."

She clenched her fists in anger, soon resuming her explanation.

"Because of that accident I became hospitalized and was unable to attend to an important competition, an absence that cost my team the championship title and made them hate and despise me. I became called a traitor, abandoned by my team, and back-stabbed by the very people I considered friends!"

slowly she felt the colored lens become crushed under the pressure of her tightening fist, and soon she made a sweeping motion with her arm, tossing the lens aside as she shouted in anger.

"That's why the two of us will never understand each other! Your ideals are all lies! Friendship is a deception, love a curse and heroism is the sheer embodiment of idiocy!"

The Shademon stirred violently, eyes all gazing straight at Adam as the girl took a step forwards, the hand that contained her digivice slowly raised forwards.

"Kuro CHOU SHINKA!"

The Antlyamon's body became coated into a layer of black energy, clearly expanding and swelling up into the size of a humongous Black Metal Greymon. The metal-covered dinosaur roared menacingly as Reikiko spoke the words that would likely been the harshest.

"So stop chasing me Adam, stop trying to save me... AND STOP THINKING YOU'RE MY FRIEND!"

A sudden roar came from Kuro as the metal plate on his chest opened, revealing a cluster of missiles being fired out of it, clearly homing in onto the merged twins of Adam.

"Because if you don't... You'll only call forth more tragedies."

Rei and Kuro truly weren't playing around this time. This fight had become a clash between the forces of light and dark themselves.  As Adam once more forced back by the Shademon the young wild boy listened with a heavy heart as Rei revealed that she was actually blind in one of her eyes due to an accident and chose to hide it with one of those special colored contacts. As Adam felt Jupitermon's blessing strengthening his resolve he stood straight and grounded his feet as he listened to how Rei's human friends betrayed her because of missing some human game match. That angered Adam a great deal. Adam knew that humans could be cruel but to abandon an injured friend was unforgivable. Adam just clenched his fists and gritted his teeth as he ran at his foe/friend once more.

"That is unforgivable what they did to you! You needed them and they abandoned you! I can see why that darkened your soul Rei but don't you see that your team are planning to do something much worse!? That Leech that's attached to you is feeding on your pain! He will drain you to nothing!"

As Adam ran at his friend, the blessing mark on his arm began to glow brightly under his sleeve. Even though Silphymon wasn't a vaccine type the marks secondary effect of weakening dark digivolutions by 20% would help even the odds if not just a tiny bit. It would also strengthen the twins resolve like it had done him. As Adam closed in on his friend he moved to jump over her using his athletic skill and then duck down to try and sweep her feet out from under her. If that worked he would quickly straighten back up to deliever a hard punch to Rei's cheek.

While the tamers fought on the ground below, the twins quickly formed an eternal plan on how to try and at least slow Kuro down. As Kuro launched a barrage of missiles at them, the twins decided to try and dodge them. When they realized that the missiles were homing missiles they just flew through the air letting the attack chase them for a moment. They then flew down towards Kuro and as they would get close they would use their speed and reflex's to pull up at the last second which would hopefully cause Kuro to get hit with his own attack. As they pulled up the twins charged a ball of energy in their hands and launched it at their foe.

"Static force!!"

Passives in use :  JUPITERMON'S BLESSING - A holy blessing gained by earning Jupitermon's favor. This ability endows the character blessed with it a 20% overall damage increase to their abilities if they are the Vaccine type, as well as reducing overall damage taken from Dark Digivolutions by 20%.Additionally, this blessing strengths one's resolve. The character it is bonded with is immune to all forms of mind control or otherworldly possession (unless the posession has the ability to over-ride blessings). They are also slightly more resilient against poisons and cursing effects, reducing the duration of those effects by one turn, unless the effect in question would only last for one turn.This blessing fades if Jupitermon is killed. (mostly the part of dark digivolutions being weakened and resolve being strengthened.)

He really wouldn't learn, even after all she had said he still had the will to say such ignorant things to her. His words that the Shin Sekai were planning to do something worse caused Reikiko to scowl at him, and the moment he tried to jump over her she decided it was over. A mere boy had no business fighting her, so she allowed Shademon full reign, the tentacles whipping into motion, and if Adam didn't quickly back away he would have found himself restrained as the tendrils would attempt to coil around him, like a serpent constricting its prey.

"You know nothing about the Shin Sekai and their ambitions! Besides, I'm not like you! I'm not a delusional child chasing dreams, I can master this power! I'd die by the idiocy of people like you before I'd get drained entirely by Shadey!"

In the meanwhile Kuro watched with a hint of mild annoyance at the Silphymon darting from one spot to another, nimbly avoiding the cluster of missiles, and to make matters worse the merged fools thought they could use him as a shield for the projectiles? Watching the Silphymon dive toward him, Kuro's eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint in his eyes when suddenly he opened his chest to launch a second cluster of missiles! Although some of the missiles would detonate against one another, Silphymon would have found itself stuck being chased by some of the remnants of the remaining volley, and with the creature just having launched a energy sphere, the end result was to be expected: A detonation of their attacks right before the Silphymon!

Still, that wasn't everything! Reikiko's hand had swept toward the shadows beside her, and by the time the smoke cleared from their combined attacks the Silphymon would likely hear a loud zooming sound, for a gigantic Grani was heading straight toward them, the Metal Greymon on top of it roaring threateningly. If the boy wanted an air battle, he would get one.

"You should retreat while you can Adam. At most I'll give you three minutes/three rounds to realize how foolish your efforts are. If you're still here after that..."

She paused for a moment, taking a step toward the boy as she continued her declaration.

"Kill you."

Some things to note: Metal Greymon (Virus) is not a dark evolution, so your blessing is useless right now against this form.
Also, I mentioned before: Reikiko is physically equipped with Shademon. Right now, especially without a weapon of some sort you have no business dodging and trying to attack her barehanded, this is akin to currently fighting someone who has a Champion-tier armor and weapon, if this was a fight against someone else you would have likely been gutted already for the things your trying to do. Basically: Continue to make Adam try to fight her in close combat and you're going to become severely injured.

As the digimon's attacks collided, The twins would find themselves getting pushed back and damaged by the strong shock wave of the collision/ As they steadied themselves in the air they heard the sound of Kuro's tamer swiping a modify card. It wasn't long before Kuro himself was air born using some kind of glider thing and begin to rush at them.  At this point the twins began to realize that Kuro could tank almost anything that they sent at the guy. They also realized that they would have to get creative. 

"You have thrown away everything friendship has offered you Kuro! We stood by you when you needed us and yet you stand against us now in order to kill innocents! This ends today!"

The twins then began to spin in a circle rapiddly with their arms out. As they did, the winds began to gather around them into a large rapid moving tornado. As the winds reached their top speed the twins exited the center of the tornado and used their arms to launch the massive tornado at their friend turned foe.

"Air field!"

Hopefully the attack would last long enough to do a good amount of damage and buy the twins enough time to think of a better plan. While the twins did their best to at least hold Kuro off, Adam did his very best to avoid the Shademon's grip. Luckily his reflex's saved him from getting grabbed but just the very energy of Shademon being so close to his skin caused Adam pain. The young wild boy jumped back and huffed with a snarl. If things kept going the way they were they didn't stand a chance.

"We were friends! I would have walked through the fires of hell for you Rei. If you insist on following this dark path, I won't be able to stand with you any longer. It is my job to stop you and I'm done letting my feelings of fondness for you get in the way of my mission and what I am here to do. From this moment on, we are enemies."

Hearing their tamer finally come around did the twins heart good. It meant that they no longer had to feel bad about fighting against Kuro. The twins prepared themselves for when Kuro broke through their attack.

"You heard the guy."

The girl heaved yet another sigh at Adam's words, to think the boy was so blinded by the stories others told him. While the Shin Sekai were the type of people who would follow an 'the end justifies the means' approach, it wasn't like they were psychopathic murderers who sought out innocent people for their own personal entertainment. To be honest, she was growing more annoyed by the moment, and it seemed Kuro shared her opinion.

"I never needed your aid, nor did I desire your friendship! All I need is Aneki! There is no 'good or bad' answer to me, the only answer I need is Aneki's! Aneki's wish is my command, and if that means dealing with you two... then so be it!"

The large Metal Greymon steadied himself, when he did something that likely neither Adam or his twins would have expected: he charged straight into the tornado! The violent winds tore through his skin, painful blades of air cutting through flesh and yet he merely gritted his teeth and took the damage. He was better than this, even if he took some serious damage from the tornado, it was far from enough to slow him down, and while he arrived at the center of the Tornado Reikiko decided it was time to end this little game.

"You're right Adam, it's time for us to stop fooling around like children..."

She smiled briefly, a sorrowful smile at that as she raised her shadow-coated arm forwards, the mark on the back of her hand glowing brightly, a sight that anyone who watched the tournament would have likely recognized: It was the summoning ritual of a Skullgreymon.

The earth between them started to crack open, a large connection of bones rising from beneath, molding together by a dark energy that soon created the same abomination that they had once fought together.

"You're weak Adam. You lack the power to save me, and defeating me is something you could only do in a fairy-tale."

The Skullgreymon raised its arm, its large hand clenching into a fist as she announced in a harsh tone.

"It's... over..."

A sudden black glow came from within the tornado, and if Adam looked at Reikiko's arm he would have noticed an obsidian gauntlet was molding out of the shadows, a light nos with her head into the direction of their fighting Digimon making it clear Reikiko was telling him to look at what was happening.

Seemingly rushing through the tornado the giant Metal Greymon's metal cover on his chest had opened, seemingly having channeled all the pain and anger he felt from the tornado's cutting winds earlier.

"REVENGE FLAME!"

The large missile launched itself out of the missile silo, seemingly going toward the Silphymon before it would detonate into a huge explosion in the air above them.

"If you let your Digimon take anymore of a beating... you will lose them Adam. Leave, and never appear before me again. Or I will tell this big boy to crush you right where you stand..."

Kuro took some serious damage by charging into the Tornado but held steady, waiting in the center of the tornado for Reikiko to empower him with her gauntlet, and then emerged out of the tornado to fire a:

○ Revenge Flame - A lethal counter-attack where Kuro endures an enemy attack, and then proceeds to unleash a fiery assault, usually in the form of a fiery projectile or a lightning-based attack. Can be used as a large AoE This attack hits at 200% power and ignores barriers or 'evasive moves' unless used by a Mega or higher due to the massive damage it inflicts, but can only be used after taking an enemy hit (can still be counter-attacked), has a 3 rounds cooldown

200% + 50% + 30% + 30% = 310% Attack

Reikiko used Plutomon's Dark Spell: Titan of Bones (Must be Ultimate or higher to use)

to summon a Skullgreymon minion and prepare it to attack Adam if he doesn't retreat.

This fight was a lost cause! If they stayed they were all going to die. Rei and Kuro were two of the most powerful none godly beings in the digital world and with this new found ability of being able to summon a skullgreymon from the ground it was basically three against two. The twins knew that there was no way they were going to be able to win the fight or even dodge this final attack and so they decided to take a page from their foes play book and power on through! The twins flew straight up toward the on coming attack while an aura charged up around them. They then launched it off of their body making it take the shape of their form which blasted apart part of the attack reducing it's power.

"Astral laser!"

As the twins flew through the remaining major damage inducing attack, they spotted Adam backing away from the skullgreymon. It had taken an entire group of tamers and their digimon to take down one of those bastards and considering they had another beefed up ultimate to fight as well there was no way that they would beat this pair without help. The twins decided on the tactic of living to fight another day. The twins used their remaining speed and energy to fly between the skullgreymon's legs and grab their tamer. Once he was secure in their arms they flew up into the sky to try and get away as fast as they could. They had lost this fight but the war was no where near over.

"It was the only way Adam. If we kept fighting we were all gonna die! We will face them again when we get stronger and have a bit of back up. We can't take three on two while we fight fair and they don't. Don't beat yourself up, the war isn't over."

As Adam was held close in his twins combined arms he couldn't help but feel a deep despair in his heart. Not because they had lost the fight but because he was finally forced to see that his friends were truly beyond saving. They were no longer his friends but now his arch-enemies and that the day would soon come where they would face off once more and unlike this battle, it would end in true blood shed.
