(NOTE: Since the requirements for blue card to the actual story I want to do for it doesn't mesh, gonna make a prelude of the requirement to justify unlocking it. I'll provide link if interested. Still the word count will far exceed. )
Terabyte City. It was the first time Zachary had chose to spend real time there. It however was the best way to learn about the digital world rather than just going to random areas and learning on the fly. Panthermon also suggested this city, and out of all the other cities of the digital world, it seemed the most peaceful. It had many kinds of digimon, even some human tamers around as well.
For now, however, Zachary and Panthermon were taking some long needed R&R at one of the restaurants in the city. And the selection was wonderful. They had most food one would have in the real world, and none of the issues of bad cooking it seems since it was all programmed. Zachary sat at a small table. Zachary was helping himself to a plate of spaghetti and meatballs, and enjoying the yummy Italian dish. Panthermon, sitting on the ground with a plate with him, naturally ate salmon. Cats loving fish and all that. Both of them were enjoying themselves for a change in the digital world, and not worried about being attacked.
Since Zachary had been time after time been hopping through the digital world, it was the first time they went somewhere tame to relax and actually get some time to enjoy themselves. It was rare for Panthermon to let his guard down as he now was calmly resting and gnoming at his fish.
"Enjoying yourself, Panthermon?" Zachary asked, looking under the table.
Panthermon could only let out a growl of content as his mouth was full of salmon. If cats could smile-- technically digimon could-- he would be grinning from ear to ear.
As they ate, there were many other digimon patrons sitting at the other tables. One of them was a gathering of three digimon. One was a gruff, pirate looking Digimon named Hookmon. Another digimon nearby was a rather large digimon-- Zudomon sitting on the floor, as he could only sit on the floor and his head still near the ceiling. Finally, nearby was another digimon-- a small pink one named Pixiemon.
"Chasing old legends again, Hookmon?" Piximon teased, downing a drink next to him despite his small size. "Come on, you know those little digimon are hard to find. "
The Zudomon let out a great big bellow of laughter. "Yeah, you spend all your time searching for buried treasure. You have better luck of an Angewomon kissing you on the lips-- considering you don't have any!" he said.
The clearly 'faceless' digimon since his features were hidden , it was hard to tell-- but Hookmon raised his hooked hand and shook it at his friends. "I am telling you, they exist! And they are a goldmine! Those cardmon are living goldmines."
This caught Zachary's attention as he stopped eating and listened in on them. He never heard of Cardmon before. Noticing his partner's pause, Panthermon also stopped and looked the conversation.
"Those little guys drop digimon cards. They may not be worth much to you or me, but they are growing in popularity. And these little guys-- they actually CREATE THEM. Its part of their own data. We can catch a few, they are a never ending goldmine! We can be set for life. "
"But they are digimon too. What do you hope to do? Collar them? " Piximon countered, taking a bite out of his food. "Its not like they are any different. Still if you did happen to get some from them, that alone could be a profit-- but seriously you do this all the time. "
"I'm telling you! They are somewhere in the islands off the Coela Coast." Hookmon said eagerly.
Zachary, having heard enough, looked to Panthermon. "Did you hear that?" Zachary asked.
Panthermon had finished his fish and looked up to his partner. "A little. Clearly it interests you more than me," Panthermon said, resting his head on his paws below him.
"A digimon who actually creates cards? That be awesome to find. Maybe if we find it, we can get some of the cards. It may even have special rare cards too!" Zachary said with clear enthusiasm, almost as much as Hookmon had. "IMagine how much stronger we can be with that kind of edge off these creatures if they give good cards?"
Having been trying to take a cat nap, he grumbled and looked up. "Always count on tavern gossip to lead to new adventures. So you wanna go there and try to find these mythical digimon." he asked.
"Why not? it be one fun adventure," Zachary said, optimistic.
Panthermon closed his eyes still and rested. "Let me have an hour cat-nap, THEN we will gear up and head for this mythical island of card-vana. " the cat said, sleeping off his meal.
Zachary rolled his eyes as he thought about it. A place where digimon created cards. It was obscure, possibly even myth alone-- but it was better than just accepting it as a rumor. Still, something tickled his mind. "You know I just had a thought. Why don't we invite Blake Winchester to come with us?" Zachary suggested.
Still with his eyes closed, Panthermon replied. "Lonewolf and Barkmon? Why?" the cat asked.
"Well these digimon sound more elusive than dangerous. " Zachary pointed out, taking out his digivice to contact him. "Besides the cards could benefit him, as well as the experience. Besides, I'd imagine we would help him out if any trouble arrived."
Panthermon let out a large stretch of his jaw with a yawn and went back to his cat nap. "Alright... sure..." he replied.
Shaking his head at his partner's indifferent attitude, Zachary hit a button on his digivice and the screen opened up. It was the Nexus feature installed in the digivice-- allowing to open a channel of real time communication to other tamers. "Hey Blake. You there? it's Zachary. I got a possible quest if you are interested in tagging along. You are not gonna believe this since you like cards so much," Zachary said...
... little did he know the treasure he would walk away with would be more dangerous and more wonderful than he would of thought he would obtain.
