"Getting settled in" (Adam&Dante inside The Watch base)

Today was a big day! Adam has team had managed to convince their friends Dante and Theos to join the watch under them so that they would finally have a bit of back up. In order to make sure that Dante had all that he needed in the kitchen the trio went out as early as the shops in the cities were open and bought as many supplies as they could. They bought fruits,different types of meats and veggies from all four of the major grounded cities. They then stocked the kitchen as well as they could with different cookware.

Once that was done Adam got dressed in his fancy robes and gave the secretary that normally stood at the front desk the day off. The young Wild boy then sent a quick message to Dante and Theo's giving them directions to the base and told them to meet them by the front desk. As they waited Adam couldn't help but feel a bit jumpy. This was a much bigger operation then what he was used to working in but unlike the team he had tried to start in the beginning, this team had resources and people working behind the scenes. Seeing how nervous her tamer was, Renae patted the young wild boys shoulder.

"We've got this. We can do this and so can they."

Adam looked back at both of his digimon and nodded gently. Despite his nervousness Adam knew that deep down that his digimon were right as always. They were no longer meant to just be a wild boy and his twins who ran around saving people. They were meant to become symbols of hope and love to those who were being oppressed by the seven or just in general. As the time of the meeting grew closer Adam just looked at Remy with a small smile.

"Mind getting Dante's cooking clothes?"

Remy nodded and within seconds he was gone down the hall and down the stares into the kitchen area where he grabbed a white chefs hat, a chefs coat and an apron. On the right sleeve of the chefs coat was the japanese symbol for "Earth" in a green stitching. Once Remy returned Adam smiled happily.

"I hope they love it here."

Dantelion's digivice beeped. A message from Adam saying to meet them near the front desk. He looked about the city from his position on Theo's back. Theo's was reluctant to turn back ever since he digivolved. He liked being taller than Dantelion. "Well let's head over there." Dantelion said grabbing one of Theo's horns lightly steering him to the large building. Though all the buildings were large this one stood out slightly. Mainly because of the Symbol. Though he didn't really know what it meant. "The signal came in?" Theos said excitedly. Then he jumped over some digimon. Dantelion clung to him as he jumped. When they landed Dantelion looked a little air sick. Honestly, he could warn him first. Theo's trotted into the building the cool air quite different from the body heat outside. Dantelion slid off his back making him turn to him. "Next time don't jump. I left my stomach behind and I'm nervous as is." Dantelion said sighing. "Sorry," Theos said chuckling at his tamer. Dantelion looked around seeing Adam almost immediately. They moved towards him side by side. until Theos jumped at them and pranced around them. Earning a small exasperated smile from Dantelion. "This place is a lot larger than I expected." Dantelion said as he stopped a few feet away. His gaze roaming the place.

As Adam and his digimon watched Dante and Theos walk in and Theos begin to jump around, Adam couldn't help but smile and quickly throw his arms around his friend in a tight warm happy hug. He then let go of his friend and then stepped beside Remy who quickly stepped forward and offered Dante his chef's clothes with a small brother like smile. Adam just rocked back and forth happily with a big grin. He was so happy that his friends had decided to join him. Once the hug was over, Adam stepped back with a big grin.

"Okay so as you can see from the outside this place is huge! There are 11 floors total! It's rather exciting. There is a training Dojo in the basement, we are in the lobby, floor two is a gym with a pool and work out equipment, floor three is where you will be working which is the Kitchen. Floor four is currently blocked off for remodeling, floor five is the men living quarters while six is the woman's. Floor seven is where we store the equipment, floor eight is where we gather intel. Floor nine is the team meeting room where not only elementals meet but the entire team and the top floor is where the master lives and works."

Once Adam was finished, Remy stepped up and offered the chef's outfit with a nod and a warm smile. The chef's coat had the Japanese symbol for "Earth" stitch onto it in green.

"Your kitchen has been fully stocked with not only equipment and cook books from four of the six major cities but also all kinds of different ingredients. We also made sure to write down the names of our suppliers. You have free run of the kitchen. As we promised, you will be kept out of combat unless it is a code red situation like if the Seven are attacking one of the major cities. Even then you will be mostly responsible for rescue and crowd control unless we or another team member are getting overwhelmed."

Remy then stepped back and let Renae step forward once she pulled out a small long book and a pen.

"We are pretty free form around here. We just ask that when you walk into the door that you sign in using your name, your digimon's name and who you are working under. Normally a rather young secretary will handle the actual writing and you will just have to give her the info. We gave her the day off."

Adam then stepped forward and twirled a bit to show off his outfit.

"What do you think of my work robes? It's different then what I normally wear but I wanted to look a bit more official. I can get you something similar if you would like. How would you guys like a tour before you get settled in?"

Dantelion took the clothes hesitantly. He never understood them personally. They were hot and limited movement. Still he couldn't refuse them. And technically they were easier to clean. "Thanks." He said draping them over his arm. "You look nice." Theos remarked as Adam spun around. Dantelion nodded in turn with a polite smile. "Green suits you." Dantelion said his gaze moving to Renae as she walked behind the counter.  She explained the simple sign in. Honestly lax was a word for it. The enemy could almost walk right in. Though he guessed as the group grew it wouldn't be as easy. "A tour sounds like a good idea." Dantelion said smiling. After all he was sure he would remember it better if he saw it. Though he noted the kitchen and the dorms the most. Since those would be the places he would be most. "Yeah, this place it so big I bet it is like a vertical forest." Theos said hopping off a few feet then stopping. His tail was again a lethal weapon. Dantelion reached into his pocket. De-digivolving Theos. Who shot him a glare. "Don't want you hitting someone with that thing." He chuckled. He adjusted his bag on his back.

Adam couldn't help but chuckle as Dante returned Theos to his rookie level saying he didn't want anyone to die by the tail. Adam then smiled and quickly lead the way to the stairs considering all five of them might not fit in the Elevator at once and in all honesty those machines freaked him out because of how cramped they were. When the group reached the stairs, Adam looked back at Dante and Theos with a warm and rather excited smile.

"The first room we will be seeing is the dojo. This is where the master spends a lot of the time when he is here. It is huge like everything here. Follow us."

The trio then quickly but swiftly made their way down the stares in a single file line. When they reached the bottom they were greeted by sliding wooden doors. When Adam slid them open they were greeted by a large wood based room which's floor was covered in a soft mat type surface. It was modeled after an ancient Japanese style and was brightly lit by traditional paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The walls were lined with wooden wracks which held many wooden swords and practice weapons such as bo staffs, nunchucks and tonfa's. The sides of the room had soft cushioned chairs for people to sit in as well as a large fridge to pull drinks from. By the front door of the dojo was a wooden coat wrack and a place to stick ones shoes. In the very back of the room sat the Elevator which Adam tried to avoid. As Adam looked around he couldn't help but smile.

"What do you think of our first stop? This is the place you will most likely find me and the twins as well. Either that or the gym upstairs. You are allowed to use this at any time, the master just asks that you remove your shoes to be respectful of the culture and that what ever you use you put back when you are finished. Even though it doesn't look like it, the intercoms even reach down here."

Renae couldn't help but giggle as she saw her tamer looked toward the metal elevator and shudder with discomfort. Adam had always been claustrophobic and so even though the building had 11 floors he always took the stairs.

"When you are finished looking around the room, we will be heading to the gym using the Elevator..well everyone except Adam who will be taking the stairs."

"I'm not getting in that metal death box."

Finally one of Adam's biggest secrets had been revealed in front of their friends. The seemingly fearless Adam did in fact have a fear that made him almost shut down. He was claustrophobic to the point of physical illness.

Dantelion and Theos followed with a questioning glance. Why didn't they use the elevator? Going down one floor was hardly a big deal however. They followed along their steps echoing in the staircase. As they exited the stairwell the lighting changed. It became slightly softer. Dantelion looked up at the lanterns. Then around at the wooden and lightly matted room. It contained a variety of weapons. none of which he knew how to use. Maybe he should come down here for training some time. When Adam mentioned the shoes he took his off to cross to the elevator. He cocked his head as Adam refused to enter. Then he smiled. "Nothing to be ashamed of." Dantelion responded. "We all have our fears. Mine is of moving vehicles." "That why you become scared riding on my back?" Theos asked. Dantelion just gave a nervous laugh. "Yes..." He said sheepishly. Theos just chuckled and hopped in the elevator.  "See you upstairs." Theos called as the doors closed. Dantelion put back on his shoes as they went up.

Adam smiled a bit sheepishly as Dante said it was alright that Adam was afraid. Hearing that made Adam feel a bit better. In order to do his job as a protector he did his best to squash all of his fear but even he knew that he couldn't do it all of the time. As his friends left aboard the death box Adam quickly trotted up the stairs at his top speed and managed to get there before the Elevator did.  As Renae and Remy started the elevators journey to the second floor Renae knelt down gently to speak into Dante's ear.

"I just wanted to take a second to say thank you. You and Theos being here and backing Adam up has taken a world of stress off of his shoulders. It has already started to bring back his inner wild boy and I am loving seeing that."

When the Elevator opened, the group was met by Adam standing at the edge of a clear salt water pool which was surrounded by hard wood flooring with a nice lemon stained finish. The room was split in half however by a few large panes of glass along with a glass door where treadmills, all kinds of weight lifting equipment and some yoga supplies were kept.  By the door by the stairs sat three wracks which held clean and fresh towels and then a bin for the dirty ones to be washed. The walls were made up of a combination of smooth stone concealedbehind glass pains to give it a reflective shine. The pool side of the room was warm but not unpleasant while the work out area was air conditioned. Over the intercom, soft oriental style music could be heard to give the room a relaxing feel. Adam just smiled happily.


"What do you guys think? The rules on this floor are simple. You must be completely dry before entering the gym area. Theos due to your clay like body I'm not sure if the pool is quite right for you. You might clog it up. Give me awhile to look into a way around that okay? It's basic really, take a clean towel, use it, put it in the bin to get washed. When you are done with the weight lifting stuff, take one of the wet wipes in the canisters in the room and wipe down what you used."

Renae giggled at her young tamer taking charge. It was nice to see that the young wild boy had finally found a place that he belonged.

"If you have any questions go ahead and ask. If you are ready then we can take you to where you have been working.

Remy then just seperated from the group and quickly sat at the pools edge and soaked his feet.

"I'll be staying here."

Dantelion nodded as Renae spoke. it was the main reason he had agreed. He disliked seeing him like that. Anything he could do to help he would. They exited the elevator and Theos started hopping around the room looking at the equipment. it was rather nice. The indoor pool was touch he probably would not mess with. Speaking of water they had yet to show Adam his new evolution. They could do that later though. They too had been busy themselves. "I recognize most of the equipment." Dantelion said. He'd help move some things into a gym once. One of his many jobs.  "I'll want to use a bunch of these." Theos said trotting back over. His tail moving his hind end. "What exactly do you plan to train?" Dantelion asked with a raised eyebrow. "Speed and strength of course. Hit 'em hard and fast." Theos responded jumping side to side like a boxer strifing. Dantelion just chuckled. Theos could probably benefit from such training. Though he was sure he had speed down from playing tag with the prariemon. "Lead the way." Dantelion said to Adam. He was curious as to how big this kitchen would be. He'd mainly worked in small diners. mostly family owned and extremely friendly. Come to think of it who has been running the kitchen? He guessed he'd find out soon enough. After all this place had to have a chef before him.

When Dante and Theos talked about what they would train, Adam couldn't help but laugh. When Dante said he should lead the way, Adam ran toward the stairs and started his way up as Renae walked Dante and Theos toward the elevator. As they entered the elevator, Renae couldn't help but giggle as the door closed. As the elevator traveled, Renae turned and hugged Dante gently.

"I haven't seen Adam this excited in such a long time. He's jumping out of his skin and it's amazing. This kitchen is kind of a thank you gift. We actually had a bit of input. The building hasn't been reopen for very long so there isn't anyone before you in terms of running the place. It's your baby!"

As the doors opened, Dante and Theos would be greeted by a rather beautiful room with hard wood floors,tables and chairs. The lighting inside the dining area was that of a restaurant with ambient lighting that made the room feel nice and cool. There was about 10 tables with four chairs each. The room was divided in half in a way. The kitchen was contained within a separate looking room with it's own bright lighting. Inside the kitchen was a state of the art oven/stove combo, a large fridge/freezer combo and large metal stove tops so that multiple things could be cooked at once. The walls were lined with multiple types of pans and cutting boards while the counter tops were lined with knife blocks with fancy looking knives. The corners of the room had two types of shelves, one for books and one for wines.  

As his friends arrived,Adam just sat one of the tables proudly and happily.

"This floor is your baby Dante. the cubbords,fridges and freezers are packed with fresh produce,meats and fruits. You have tons of cook books and tools to use as you wish. You have free reign here. you have plenty of dishes,soaps and such too. I hope you enjoy cooking in here."

Adam couldn't help but grin happily.

"Once you inspect your new lair we will show you the living quarters and where you and Theos will be living when your here."

Dantelion and Theos followed Renae onto the elevator. In truth Adam wasn't the only one excited. Dantelion felt good knowing he was the source for this happiness. They stepped out into the dining room. It was nicely done. It reminded him of a rather fancy restaurant. Which wasn't a bad thing. "It looks really nice." Theos said and began nosing around again. Dantelion just shook his head and walked around. No one else has touched the place. It kind of gave him a sense of ephoria. Like a dream of reality. Though it was far from. He peered into the kitchen his shoes tapping at the clean floor. With a kitchen as big as this he could easily manage a team. Though giving orders wasn't his strongest suite....yet. Hopefully he would grow into the position given him. He did a small once over of what was in the cabinets and freezer before coming back out. Fully stocked and it looked like it wanted to be used. Some part of him was proud of it. The wanderer who set off to see the world. Now had a home....Once he realized it was impossible to walk the world he had slowed. Now he was at a standstill. Pride and disappointment collided. He looked out the window a moment at another cold steel building. Still he was here for the right reason. What mattered is what he had made not what he had set out to do. Who would have thought he would ever become a chef. "So, I heard you worked real hard for all this. I don't think I'll want for anything that is for sure." Dantelion said smiling. "Shall we."

Adam smiled as Dante inspected his new home away from home. Knowing that he enjoyed and loved it made Adam's heart jump. As Dante said that it was time to move on, Adam just jumped up and down quickly and ran toward the stairs. It was obvious that he hadn't been that happy in forever during the war. As he rushed up the stairs, Renae led Dante to the elevator and once she was in, she had to wipe her eyes as she cried happy tears.

"It's like he's a kid again with no worries in the world. He may not have said it yet but he sees you as a big brother who he just wants to help and make proud. He slaved on that floor since 5 A.M just for you because he wanted to make you happy."

Renae wiped her eyes and turned and hugged Dante close to her. It was true that her furry heart was touched. As the elevator opened they would be greeted by a long hallway which led into a circular layout with doors lining the wall. Each door had a small electrical slot that looked that a digivice was to be put inside of it. Adam was leaning against a door which had a grape vine design painted on it and his first name written on it. Adam just smiled as his friends joined him.

"Okay so, here is where a bit of extra security comes in Dante. Each door has an electrical panel installed next to it. Instead of having an access code to enter your room the rooms are digivice locked. You place your digivice inside of the panel and it opens up your door. The only other way to get in is from the inside. Here I'll show ya."

Adam then removed his digivice from behind his neck and placed it gently inside the panel. A soft click was then heard and Adam then turned the knob and opened the door to his room. Inside Dante would find a green and painted room with a large king bed that fit three and against the side wall sat a twin couch and the north wall had a nice wooden desk. Hanging from the ceiling were two things, a small light fixture that resembled a chandelier and a rubber tire swing.

"Now before you judge, I did alter my room a bit. I painted it green and brown to resemble the jungle and yes I have a tire swing. Please no tarzan jokes. Each room comes with a king sized bed, a twin couch and a desk with a rolling chair. Renae took my rolling chair away cause I kinda kept breaking it by spinning in it. To pick a room all ya gotta do is place your digivce inside a panel and it will be locked to you only. Each room starts out with white walls, bed and couch but you can change it easily. What do ya think?"

Adam sat on the bed happily and bounced on it.

"Come sit on this bed and couch! So soft! It's like sleeping in a fresh batch of mud right after it rains!"

Renae just rolled her eyes.

"You're so not getting that chair back until you can prove you will stop breaking them. Dante sweetie, when you are ready to move up let me know."

Dantelion had thought of him like a brother as well. Though he felt that his welcome should not have made such a large difference. It made him feel guilty and wonder why this meant so much to Adam. There was a story here that he didn't know. Then again Adam didn't know his either. They stepped out of the elevator and listened to his explanation of the lock system. It was simple and actually a really good idea. Since each digivice is unique.  Theos took one look around the room before jumping into the tire swing with a grin. It swung back and forth and spun lightly with his momentum. His tail wagged as he stood there. "It reflects you well. Down to earth and playful." Dantelion responds to his Tarzan refrence. Honestly he hadn't thought of Tarzan but he guessed there were some similarities. "Can we get one of these." Theos asked happily. "I suppose so..." Dantelion said scratching his neck slightly with a smile. Honestly what ever they would do their room would be Theos idea. It has been so long since he actually had a room of his own he had no idea what he would do with it. Though one thing was certain everything he owned would remain in his bags. "So, what rooms are available." Dantelion asked. He was thinking about taking the one across the hall. Honestly since it didn't look that busy he wondered if everyone was out questing or if it wasn't that big yet.

Adam blushed as Dante said that his room really reflected him. When Theos asked if they could have a tire swing and Dante agreed,Adam then just laughed a bit and then walked past his two friends and over to his small closet. He opened it up to reveal a small mannequin which held his trade mark green hooded trench coat. It also contained a small dresser full of clothes and a deflated tire swing and a roll of rope. The young wild boy pulled out the deflated tire swing and rope and sat it on the bed.

"Here ya go. I always make sure to keep a spare. Since the girls rooms are the same as the guys we will be skipping that floor. I will be taking you to where we will be keeping the gear and where you would go to get your digivice modified or worked on if it needs it. We are almost done with the tour. Once we finish there, we will take you to the intel room."

As Adam went to walk out of the room, Renae had finally had enough and stepped into the door way as a way to block it and then crossed her arms. She then walked over to Adam and forced him to sit on the bed. Once her tamer was sitting she walked over to his desk and pulled out a small cracked and burnt out first generation digivice and held it out to Dante to inspect. The words "injuries fatal" frozen on the cracked screen.

"If he is gonna be on the same team as us Adam you can't hide it from him anymore! You are working yourself to an early grave! I will not see that!"

Adam then opened his mouth to argue but one look at his digimons face told him that it was no good. The young wild boy just sighed a sad sigh and looked down at the floor, his face grave.

"You always say that we work to hard..try and do too much and save to many at once. There is a reason and this is why. It was a few months before we met you. We hadn't joined this team yet or even reached ultimate yet. We had gotten a wide spread distress call in the forest. We naturally raced to answer it. A young girl about my age was on the run from a war growlmon and a metal greymon. She had just got brought to the digital world.."

Adam's voice was now shaky as if he was trying to not choke on the words. Renae just sat next to her tamer and rubbed his back which helped calm him down just enough to finish.

"The two ultimate digimon were after three unhatched digi-eggs, one of which was the girls partner. By the time we reached her..they had her surrounded. We were seconds away from her..they picked her up..folded her like paper right in front of us. They then drained two out of three of the eggs and partially drained the third. We managed to escape with the last egg and her digivice."

Instead of finishing his story, Adam just stood up and forced his way out the door to head to the armory. Once Adam was gone Renae just let out a sad sigh and continued the story.

"While my brother and I waited to see if the egg was going to hatch, Adam without our knowlage went off on his own back to the site of the attack. At first we thought he was going to face the digimon on his own but the truth was..he went back and dug a grave for that young girl and buried her all by himself. He never talks about it, even with my brother and I but we know it..damaged him. The egg did end up hatching but the digimon was..corrupted..damaged. When ever it went above rookie, it went savage and killed innocence. We tried to contain it but one day he went ultimate and went on a rampage and we had no choice but to.."

Renae just sighed again and looked up at Dante, a heartbroken look in her soft eyes.

"He may act care free but when we are alone..I can see how that day weighs on him. Every time we talk about it with him he lashes out at us."

Renae then just stood up and walked out of the room silent and shaken and headed up the stairs instead of taking the elevator. When Dante and Theos joined her they would find a brightly lit room filled with wooden and glass weapon display cases, work benches with marble floors. The room was large but still rather empty still. They would also see that Adam was not in the room like he said he was going to be. Seeing this Renae sighed.

"He's probably in the elemental meeting room on floor 9. He just needs a bit of time to recenter himself. I'm sorry guys."

So there it was. The reason for why he wanted to protect people. Dantelion understood to a degree. With his mother almost dying and him being that close to death. In some way he wanted to both scold and reassure. Thing was he had no room to talk. If he had seen such a thing himself he would have just ran from it. His one and only fear was of death. He followed Renae solumnly. Theos thought about it. Honestly, they should be thankful they yet lived. They forgot to look at something very important. Despite it all they remained as both protectors and a warning. Sometimes you just can't do it all. "You know Renae. Doing what you all did was brave. "He did share his..." Theos said slightly questioningly. He knew his tamers story. A sad one as well though probably not as sad. Dantelion did a once over of the display room. He began walking among the display cases buying as much time as he could. Finally he gave a silent sigh and nodded. Hopefully he gave Adam and himself enough time. "Lead the way." Theos said and gave a small smile. It wasn't unnatural but his tail wasn't wagging like normal.

As Dante and Theos said that they were ready to head to the next floor, Renae just headed up the stairs a bit sadly. It wouldn't take a long before they would reach the Intel room. When they reached the room, Dante and Theos would find that the room was rather dimly lit and covered wall to wall in computer consoles and holographic screens. Even the desks in the room had Holographic tech built into them. There were scanners,maps and lots more as well. Seeing all this caused Renae to just sigh as she waited by the door.

"I don't let Adam mess around in here. He isn't very good with machines and I don't want him breaking anything ya know? I love the sweetie but the guy sucks with human technology."

Renae decided that while she was waiting on Dante and Theos to finish looking around she would walk up to one of the smaller consoles and began pressing buttons. It wasn't long before a live video of Adam sitting in the meeting room up on the next floor. The young wild boy seemed to be staring at a small hologram of the young woman he had failed to save. This broke Renae's heart so instead of dwelling on it, Renae turned the video to the feed of the gym and pool to find that Remy was sitting on a raft chair in the middle of the pool just enjoying the relaxation of not having to work. This caused Renae to sigh and roll her eyes.

"I swear my brother is the laziest digimon around. One day I'm gonna help him kick that habit."

Renae then cut off the video feed and walked back toward the door with a small sigh.

"You can use this room to gather info from all over the digital world and I do believe that it's also connected to the human world. It can be used to create digital portals back into the human world using your digivice. That way if ya want a small leave of absence. Just make sure to keep in mind that time here moves a lot faster then it does there. So two days back in the humans world would mean like two weeks here. That's just something to keep in mind.
