@ NYMPH | ❝ Harley stumbled out of the castle and into the dark forest surrounding it, still heavily wounded from her battle within. She felt different - whatever that knight had done to her, it had changed her in some way. She had blacked out for some time after the fight, it could be presumed that a non-hostile Digimon had carried her out upon finding her body, as she didn't remember leaving the throne room on her own accord. The tamer couldn't afford to dwell on any of these matters at the moment - she had to continue moving forward, and find a way out of these treacherous woods. As the pale girl got to her feet, she had noticed that her partner had already done so, currently perched in a nearby tree in his Rookie form. "That whole thing is kind of hazy...but didn't ya lose an arm?" The bat was in fact, in perfect condition. The monsters of this world seemed to be far less squishy than human beings, something she couldn't help but envy. "You're surprised? I should be the one surprised! I've been watching you bleed for hours, and you're still going! What's wrong with your data regeneration drive?" The tamer winced, remembering the large bite that was taken out of her side, and feeling it to find that it was in fact, still there. The bleeding was slowing down, but it hadn't received any sort of medical attention. "Humans don't have regeneration drives, you idiot!" She got to her feet with this outburst, finished with laying around like a sack of rotting meat. The Demidevimon smiled, hanging upside down upon the branch he was resting on, "Glad to see you're feeling better again." He extended his wings, dropping forth from the branch in a dramatic fashion. He was tired of waiting around as well, even if it was a nice little five hour break. "Let's head towards that big tree on the horizon, looks like a good place to go." She pointed at the large growth in the horizon, a flourishing tree of an unknown species much larger than anything she had ever seen on Earth, even dwarfing the mighty Redwoods. "That's just the Tree of Life, baby, there ain't nothin' special about it." The Tree of Life. This very phrase made the tamer's interest grow larger, rather than smaller. "Sounds pretty fucking special to me; is it safe?" She had to inquire - nothing in this world was as it seemed. "Sometimes bug and plant mons hang out there, but nothin' that will give us too much trouble." That was likely to be expected - and she highly doubted she would run into anything like the blackened Omnimon she had just faced any time soon. Or at least, she could hope. The tamer attempted to cover her wound with her jacket, seeing that her shirt was completely ruined, which was rather successful. Good as knew, well not really, but at least it was covered up. "Then let's go, this twilight is starting to make me depressed." The duo would walk down the trail until the dimly lit forest became daylight, the sun shining down upon flourishing leaves and lush wildlife. The tamer found this light to be highly irritating, to her surprise, causing her to shield her eyes for most of the way. It was an unnatural pain, as if the sun were stinging her eyes, and worse yet, they didn't seem to be adjusting. Had she spent too much time in the dark, or was this something else? The great tree was still miles away, but at least their surroundings seemed less hostile. The flowers and plant-life were colorful and inviting, though Harley was careful to touch none of it - as bright colors in the plant and animal worlds often meant danger. One such flower was too captivating to stay away from, however. It was a large white bloom with lime accents, being placed in a spot that was almost certainly planned. It was raised upon a small mound and set apart from the other greenery, as if it were planted there by an unknown gardener. The vampiric girl silently approached this plant, laying a gentle finger upon one of the petals. It seemed to reach to her pulse upon feeling her touch, as it began to slowly light up, something that caused Harley to quickly pull her hand back in caution. The flower continued to illuminate, the light gathering at the center-point and forming a crest of sorts. It appeared like a flower in itself, though outlined and minimalist in art design. "Another crest?" She reached back for it, intending to obtain it. As she did, the entire plant transformed into a small egg-shaped one, appearing much like an over-sized flower bud with the crest inscribed upon it. "An egg, then." Already knowing what to do with the artifact, she held out her Digivice to it, and assimilated it into it, the ancient digital relic becoming code, much like the one she had obtained weeks earlier. There was still quite a ways to trek... |
