Brennan and his Digimon partner Dora the Dorumon were climbing up the Sigma Mountains, it had become a habit of theirs since they had met, since neither of them had explored the entirety of the Digital World. The pair wanted to get to the top of the mountain in order to get a good vantage point of a large part of the Digital World. "Whew... this is exhausting." Brennan muttered, wiping his forehead. He was physically fit, but even so, this was exhausting. Dora was holding up better, he could dig his claws into the ground in order to walk, but he wasn't much better. The two had started climbing an hour ago, and were not even one eighth of the way up the mountain. At this point, even Dora was starting to get tired.
"No kidding..." Dora muttered, "And I've got fur all over my body... I'm sweating even more than you are." Brennan laughed bitterly, but kept going, he was going to keep climbing until he got at the very least a quarter of the way up the mountain, he was not about to give up.
Brennan let out a groan, but even though he wanted to collapse, he kept trudging on, but Dora collapsed onto the floor, very, very tired, and very, very done with this. Brennan sighed, "Seriously, Dora?" The Digimon just groaned, and Brennan shook his head, sitting down beside it. Dora let out another groan and suddenly de-digivolved back into it's Fresh form, Dodomon. Brennan sighed and lied down, and eventually Dora's snored filled the air.
Brennan's own eyes were just about to drift shut when he saw a vaguely blue, humanoid beetle fly towards them, and crash to the ground-- a KoKabuterimon. Brennan didn't think it would harm either of them, so he did nothing, but KoKabuterimon growled and dashed towards Dora. No! Brennan thought to himself, jumping in front of KoKabuterimon and taking the brunt of the tackle. Brennan groaned, clutching his stomach, but he stood his ground. "I'll never let you harm my friend!" Brennan yelled, "Even if it takes my dying breath!" KoKabuterimon snorted at Brennan's cheesiness, but Brennan just growled softly, not wanting to wake up the sleeping Dodomon. He punched KoBauterimon's hard shell, then kicked, repeating this process several times, getting hit with a tackle from KoKabuterimon in between attacks. Brennan coughed-- blood. Thankfully though, KoKabuterimon was injured as well, and spread it's beetle wings and buzzed away, irritated at the human that simply would not allow it to eat a measly little Dodomon. Brennan huffed and puffed, collapsing on the floor unconscious.
An indeterminable amount of time later, Dora was hopping on Brennan's chest, willing him to wake up. Brennan was sore all over, so he groaned when he woke up, rubbing his sore body. Dora noticed his bruised and made a worried face, "What happened to you?!" The Digimon asked, and Brennan just shook his head, rubbing his arm.
"Nothing for you to worry about." He muttered hoarsely, and suddenly his Digivice began to beep, showing a dot on it's screen. "Oh...?" Brennan asked, walking towards where the dot presumably was. He didn't have to go much up the mountain, he just walked to the left for a while and ended up standing on the mouth of a cave. Brennan peered in, noticing that there were lit torches in the cave. He shrugged at this and held out his Digivice, "Digivolve, Dora." He said to the Dodomon, and Dora nodded, Digivolving directly to Dorumon. The two paced into the cave slowly, their stepping echoing into nothingness. At the very depth of the cave, atop a short stone pillar, stood a single silver metallic egg, smooth and cold, with a a spike sprouting out of the top, and two wings directly beside it. Brennan let out a breath that he hadn't even realized he had been holding, slipped his Digivice onto his belt, and picked up the egg, but the second he did, it began to disappear from his hands slowly, dissolving into a string of 0's and 1's. The orange D-3 Digivice that was attached to Brennan's belt began to glow, and Brennan unclipped it, looking at the screen.
On the screen, the metal egg that Brennan had just picked up was shown, rotating around on the screen to make all 360 degrees of the egg visible at some point. DIGIMENTAL DETECTED: LOYALTY, the Digivice read under the egg, presumably known as a Digimental. Abruptly, this disappeared from the screen, and new test quickly appeared, it read: INITIATING ARMOR DIGIVOLUTION. Just as these words appeared on the screen, Dora began to glow, and while the Dorumon was certainly startled, his instincts kicked in, "Dorumon Armor Digivolve to... Jetdramon!"
