Ryu although growing up and living in Japan, has a brother who lives in the USA. He was about ten years older then him  in his mid thirties.  It was this very sibling he was visiting in the states. Today however was his nieces birthday party, she was turning 15. As such they were having a party for her in central park and he attended.

As everyone seemed to stand around drinking beers and his brother manned the grill they'd all see to be having a good time. His niece was playing at the park and he'd go off to watch her. It was there that he'd sit patiently watching. The giant male of 6'5 who was built like a body builder which was thanks to his blessed genetics; despite being a disease. Not only did he have an intimidating appearance but he was well trained in MMA.

Yet despite these facts he often found himself fighting more then one might think, as people were either stupid of daring; either way it annoyed him. It was that same kind of annoyance which built up as his niece was soon being bullied by some kids. Raising from his seat on the bench he'd slowly make his way over.

It was Saturday afternoon, the sun was up radiating a gentle heat that shone down on the people in Central Park. Having finished his homework, Tobias was allowed to go to a friends birthday party. She was one of his classmates, about a month younger than him. Clary's birthday party was going smoothly so to say, the people were enjoying themselves quite nicely.

Clary and Tobias leaned against the jungle gym, just having a bit of a chat. She got quite a bit of money from her family members, which made the young teen chuckle. "So what are you going to buy with that?"
The girl shrugged, but she was holding back on him. Tobias raised his eyebrows at her. "Hey, you know you can tell me anything." Tobias told her, and Clary shrugged again. "I don't know.. was thinking about going to that Digimon Card shop in the city."
That certainly interested the boy. "Ah, that digital monster game." Tobias said with a grin, crossing his arms and looking around like he was checking if anyone was listening to them. Then he turned to Clary. "I still carry around my Pokémon cards, so don't worry about it."
That made the duo laugh.

"Ah, cute. Two nerds bonding over their silly card games."

Tobias turned around, to stare up at three males, medio 20's, blocking the sun from warming up both Clary and Tobias.
"How about, we play a round of cards and see who wins?" Said the shortest. Tobias had never seen them around, but Clary had.
"P-please. Leave us alone." She said, and the shortest laughed. "You hear that boys? She wants us to leave her alone."
The tallest one moved forward and reached out to grab Clary's arm, however it was intercepted by Tobias, who grabbed onto the male's arm. "I think she's serious." He said to the three bullies, which earned a chuckle.

"Hey.. hey Bryan.." Said the shortest one, trying to catch their attention. And then proceeded to push Clary, making her fall to the ground.
That did it, and Tobias released the arm of the tallest one, who was named Bryan apparently. The teen balled his fist and punched the bully, hoping to at least give the shortest one a bloody nose.
"Marc, are you okay?!" the middle one exclaimed, tending to the shortest.

"Tobi.." Clary whispered, knowing this wasn't going to end well for her classmate. Tobias simply stood 1,65m tall. Which was actually quite small compared to the 20 year olds.
"Now, Tobi. Punching people ain't kind." Said Bryan, grabbing Tobias' shirt and lifting him up. The teen started kicking with his feet, and then -- bullseye! Bryan doubled over as Tobias had successfully kicked the bully in his nuts.

From that moment on though, all hell broke loose and the two other bullies started punching Tobias. Clary crawled back, hoping that anyone was seeing this-- and luckily, someone did.
Her nephew Ryu was approaching them.

Tobias was trying to fight the bullies off, but it was kind of difficult as one of them held his arms down. He tried to squirm, and suddenly he was freed. Tobias opened one eye as he was looking up at a male, probably older than the bullies. The teen widened his eyes as the male looked extremely bulky, like he was some kind of famous wrestler. He was holding the two bullies up, while the tallest one was still writhing in pain from the kick in his genetals.

Tobias snickered at what the man said, and Clary giggled. They were both still on the ground as Tobias noticeably flinched when Ryu slammed the bullies’ heads together. “That’s my nephew.” Clary whispered, and Tobias raised his eyebrows. Well then, he was glad that he wasn’t one of the bullies.

He noticed the smallest one crawling away, which made Tobias laugh. What a turn of events! The bully was dragged back to Clary’s newphew by his pants, Tobias was certainly enjoying the show.

His face, however contorted in a bit of fear as Clary’s Newphew said he killed little bitches and send their dicks as a reminder who you shouldn’t fuck with. Tobias shuddered, and Clary placed a hand on his shoulder. “We should get that looked at.” The girl said, gently touching Tobias’ eyebrow. The teen flinched, as the touch hurt a little. “It’s fine.” He boy said, remaining tough. “It’s just a bruise, nothing I can’t handle.”

Tobias then watched the three bullies cower in fear, and Clary’s nephew started insulting them. Though at the mention that the nephew would shoot someone, Tobias objected. “Uh—“ But Clary stopped him. “He’s just bluffing.” She whispered, the blonde relaxed hearing that, he did not want to be involved with murder.

As the bullies ran off, Tobias waved them goodbye. Clary giggled.
“Yeah, thank you.” Tobias then told Ryu, as he asked if they were alright. “I’m fine too.” Said Clary, feeling relieved that she had such a strong nephew.

The two took Ryu’s hand and helped themselves up tot heir feet. As the older male offered them icecream, Tobias smirked. That sound pretty nice.

“Hehe.” Tobias rubbed the back of his neck as he received a compliment from the bulky man. “My name’s Tobias.” He replied, feeling a bit embarrassed. Then Ryu ruffled his hair, which Tobias kind of disliked. Elizabeth always ruffled his hair, it made him feel like a child.
“So, what’s yours?” Tobias asked, looking up at the man. "You've got some really nice moves."

As his niece called him out on his bluff he'd chuckle and nod showing his pockets were empty walking with the two he'd chuckle as he listened to the kid who seemed a bit nervous. Gently elbowing the boy playfully he'd laugh.

"Relax kid. I was kidding. You Americans are so easily fooled. That or your all a bit racist. Not every Japanese person is part of the Yakuza, then again I doubt those idiots even knew I was Japanese, probably assumed I knew kung fu or was Chinese."

His niece chiming in he'd look her

"But don't you practice MMA..."

Making a face he'd laugh and shake his head.

"Not the point. Anyways, the name is Ryuu, it means one with a dragon's spirt. My parents seemed to think it was a fitting name. Anyways the ice cream vendor is just around the corner, so you two know what you want. Don't worry about the cost. It's my treat, besides I don't get to see my niece that often so I tend to spoil her."

Now standing their he'd wait for them to make their order and then pay for it. Folding his arms he'd then motion for the two to follow as he sat on a bench with them, his giant form resting on it as his arms rest on either side of the two young ones.

"So tell me, I could have sworn I heard you two talking about Digimon and Pokemon. I love games like that but digimon is my favorite. Hell it is arguably better then pokemon. Going one way an only one way is kinda boring, not to mention how many times they copied of digimon."

He'd tease letting his inner nerd out, but then expanded more and explained.

"Anyways, they are both good games. But to be fair I think if digimon had as much funding as pokemon when it released here locally it would be far more popular. Either what do you two think about them. Who is your favorite. Mine are Dukemon^x and UlforceVeemon^x"

<sup>He'd ask curiously leaning in, looking to either of them hoping to get some sort of reaction; despite their age he hoped they might have some passion on the subject. One he might exploit to bring about a possible new tamer.

He knew just like himself if one desired it enough an willed it so they could become a tamer, most of all with the aid of a tamer an entering such a world it would be much easier. But none the less he'd need to establish the connection.</sup>

Tobias looked a little embarrassed when Ryuu elbowed him and then showed that his pockets were empty, well that was a bit humiliating. “Well, you never know when someone turns into Jackie Chan.” Tobias replied with a cheeky grin. Though when it was revealed that Ryuu practices MMA, the kid got a bit awestruck. “Wait.. that’s amazing!” He exclaimed, looking at the older person with shiny amber eyes.
“N-nice to meet you, Ryuu!” The 15 year old would say as he introduced himself. Tobias smiled like a kid in a candystore when Ryuu said that they shouldn’t worry about the cost.

Tobias got himself Vanilla with Chocolate on top, and was now following Ryuu along with Clary.
As they sat down on the bench, Tobias looked at Ryuu. “Oh, I love both of them.” Said Tobias with a smile. “I grew up watching the two shows and buying stuff from the franchise.” Then Tobias agreed with the older male. “Yeah, I suppose if I should choose it would be Digimon. Since Pokémon copied a few things from them.”

Tobias looked thoughtful for a moment, as he was thinking of a favorite. “Well, I like a lot of digimon. But if I had to choose, it would be something like MetalGarurumon. But.. maybe mixed with DinoTigermon. As tigers are my favorite animals.” He grinned slightly at his answer. “But Guilmon and Veemon sound amazing too, ugh. There are too many species to even name.”

When Ryuu asked if he wished it was real, Tobias shrugged. “I suppose the world would be a much darker place if it was. But, I would be excited though.” He finished the ice cream and then leaned back against the bench with his arms behind his head. “But yeah, sadly they’re fiction.”
Tobias looked at Clary, smiling as she took out the money that she had gotten for her birthday. “I really hope you get some fancy cards. And hey, maybe one of them will be a blue card, so you’ll get a digimon yourself.” Tobias joked.

As he smiled some he'd listen to their answers although his niece seemed entirely not to believe the boy did more so; somewhat. With that sort of grin he'd look to them both parting his lips..

"Well just so you both know. I have some connections in america I have a buddy who will sell me some cards and plushies at one of his shops for fairly cheap. What do you say we go to that store and buy a few boxes. Test our luck for that blue card?"

The male would tease yet at the same time was serious. Poking the to gently.

"Go ask your parents if you can come with me we will be right back. Hell I'll even get you a box to open Tobias."

He'd tease as the male looked over to the two waiting for them to return. Had they he'd bring them over to his rental car and instruct them to bucle up before he drove towards their destination. Their destination was in china town.

It was called 'little china town's card emporium.' It was there the gentleman sold plenty of cards from all sorts of game, plushies and even replicas. They ranged from the power bracelets to mega evolve, pokeballs of all types and even digivice.

Parking he'd instruct the kids to follow him. Opening the trunk with a few boxes all his own. As they all entered the shop, he' walking up he'd speak japanese and smile placing the boxes on the counter.

"Hey old buddy how are you. How is life in America, also whats with the card shop name?"

As he happily greeted him the two would go back and forth for a few minutes while the kids explored before he pointed to a few boxes then to his own. As his friend seemed excited he'd open the box and grin eating a few sweets from home as he took the boxes and put them down. Grabbing a few boxes he'd place them down and nodd.

"Alright lucky birthday girl your uncle is a very thoughtful man. I am his friend Takehiro, but you can call me uncle jackie. You know like the famous jackie chan."

He'd chuckle some as he then pushed  a few boxes over then looked at the boy.

"I give you one of each box. It has 20 pack a box, 5 boxes and I throw in one more box for your friend. You let me know which one Tobias. If you no both pull a blue card from your boxes. Then I will give one one from my own personal collection. Ryuu-san tells me you both want to be tamers. Ya, I give you each a Device and you pick one digimon plushie for your partner huh? Go go pick your prizes, don't forget to thank Mr. Ryuu."

A Faint chuckle passed as he pulled out several one hundred dollar bills and paid the male, refusing a few giving it back before more foreign language could be heard and he gave an aangry look pointing t a picture of the shop owners daughter.

"I'm telling you, thank you for the discount but I will pay full, spend the rest on your daughter she is beautiful, it's been far to long since we last spoke and seen each other. Consider it a reminder I care about your family and we miss you back home."

Tears filled the shop keepers eyes as he wiped them the both bowed and he turned to see what they children had picked out. It was then he'd also offer the kids some sweets from the box smiling warmly.

Tobias shrugged, if Clary wanted to go, it was fine with him. He wasn’t all too fond of stuffed animals. But he sure sure if he got them cheap, he could sell them on ebay. The boy smirked at the thought. “What do you mean by boxes? Like.. card packs? I’d be interested in those.” Tobias said, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he was done with the ice cream.

As Ryuu said to ask his parents, Tobias lift his shoulders again. “I don’t think they’ll have a problem wit hit. They know Clary, so I guess it’s fine.” He thought about his sister for a moment, who always seemed to lurk in the shadows just in case. But, luckily enough, he hadn’t seen her around.
“I think it’s okay to go.” He said, with a bit of a grin.

Tobias buckled up, looking outside the window as they drove right to China Town. The boy frowned, perhaps the store Ryuu was talking about was some kind of fake shop. He knew about the fake cards that you could get.

As they arrived, Tobias swung his bag over his shoulder. “Are you sure the stuff your friend sells is legit?” He asked Ryuu.
Then they entered the shop, and Tobias looked around. There were all kinds of stuff there, books, magazines, even a Marvel dedicated area! Tobias ran over to the Marvel section. “Oh wow!” He exclaimed, observing a Deadpool doll. This guy truly had a lot, and there were official markings on all of them.

Tobias heard the shop owner talk, but he couldn’t understand since it was Japanese, not that it mattered though. He was far too fascinated by the collection this man had. There had to be over a million dollars of stuff in here.

Luckily, the shopowner started talking English, which made him turn around to look at what Clary would pick. Tobias smirked, Clary was one lucky girl to receive so many presents.
Though, Tobias decided to check out the Digimon section while Clary was picking out her boxes. “Thank you, sir!” He told the shop owner, as he was offered a box as well. Though, it got a bit awkward as the shop owner looked so keen on making them ‘tamers’. It was only fiction, but he supposed he’d need a wild imagination and one of the stuffed animals then.

Tobias was checking them out, there was a Gomamon, Biyomon, even a Guilmon plush. The young boy was tempted to pick up the red dragon, but then one of the plushies fell off the shelf.
“Huh?” The teen uttered, and then looked at the shop owner with an apologetic smile.“Sorry, sir. It was an accident.”
He picked up the fallen Tentomon plush, placing it back where it had been before it fell off. The plush right next to the Tentomon was looking right at him, its green eyes almost boring through his. Tobias wrinkled his nose. That was a bit scary.
He stepped in front of it, and then turned tot he shop owner as Ryuu offered to pay the full price. Tobias smiled at Ryuu’s kindness. As he looked back, the eyes of the plushie were once again aimed at him. Tobias took a step back, looking a bit freaked out.
Wasn’t that the little mascot digimon of Digimon Tamers? As Tobias got a closer look, it was confirmed. It was a Calumon plush.

Tobias reached out and poked the eye, which immediately closed. The teen took a step back in shock. “W-what?!” He muttered, and the Calumon immediately went back to staring at him. “No, no you can’t do that.. You just moved!” He pointed at the Calumon plush, looking at the owner and then at Ryuu. “This one just moved!” He exclaimed louder this time, and when he turned back to look at the digimon plush—it was gone.

The teen dropped his hand and then turned to Ryuu. “I’m serious, Ryuu! There was this.. Calumon figure here. Its eyes were following me and when I touched it, the thing closed its eye!”

Clary facepalmed, shaking her head as Tobias was making a scene.
“No, no I’m serious Clary! That thing moved!”

Tobias looked a little confused as Jackie asked if they didn’t know. “Know what?” Tobias asked, before blinking a few times as the owner said he must’ve seen his mogwai. What the hell was a mogwai?
“Ah..” Tobias replied, before rubbing the back of his head. So apparently it had been Gizmo.

As Ryuu asked him if he really thought it was a digimon, the boy shrugged. “No.. I mean.. yes.. I mean.. I don’t know. It looked like a real Calumon to me.” Then Tobias stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jeans. “I uh.. I guess it would be really awesome if digimon really existed but some things are just too good to be true.”

When Ryuu took out his digivice, the boy turned away to take another look at the stuffed animals on the shelf. He kind of felt stupid right now to be assuming things, but he was certain that was not a Calumon suit.

Tobias turned to watch Ryuu and Clary as she received her digivice. The boy smirked, well, if you didn’t have imagination, you wouldn’t survive in this world.
His attention, however, was interrupted by a Calumon zooming past hi mand landing on Jackie’s head. Tobias took a step back, but as he got a closer inspection—he realized this was not the Calumon he had seen on the shelf. This one had red eyes, while the one Tobias had seen clearly had green eyes.

Feeling a little edgy, he turned to look around the shop again. Was that really a digimon?
Tobias uttered a fake and nervous laugh as the puppet Calumon said that he shouldn’t poke a digimon’s eyes out. It did look odd though, the Calumon looked kind of real. “Yeah..” He replied, a little bit distant as he observed the shop once more. Before he turned to Ryuu. “Ehh..”

Tobias then looked at Clary as she asked if ‘they’ were real. The boy assumed she meant digimon, and when Ryuu looked at him to ask him if they were just that good in tricks or if they were real, the boy couldn’t really give an answer.

When Ryuu walked up to hi mans asked if he wanted to pick out his digivice and find out, the boy looked a little bit hesitant. Was Ryuu telling the truth? Was that Calumon that he saw, really a digimon?
“I.. guess.” Tobias told Ryuu, joining him at the counter and taking one of the D-powers out of the box. “I always thought the Tamers season was pretty good.” He said with a smile. “No offense to adventures, of course. But knowing you can support your digimon with cards is always the best. Instead of just standing there and encouraging them to fight.”

Tobias smiled as Clary was allowed to open her pack of cards. “Hey, maybe you will really find your digimon.” The boy winked at her teasingly, kind of feeling like they were being pranked.

The teen gently opened his card pack, but there wasn’t really anything in there of value. Apart from the Digmon drill card and the power up card.
“Sweet.” Tobias said with a smirk.

As Ryuu offered to register them at the Tamer’s club the boy got a little sceptical. “Uh, well. It’s been fun all and all. But could you just drop the act right now? I know you’re deeply into Digimon, man. And I don’t judge you for it, but it’s getting a little awkward now.”

Then he was asked what his favorite digimon was, and the boy shrugged. “I’ve always liked tiger digimon. MetalGarurumon was my favorite in adventures. I still have some sketches in my notebook where I edited him into a tiger.” The boy said, smiling as he observed the cards he had gotten.

As they finally sat down and talked he'd smile setting up one digivice an digimon then work on the boys, however  as he signed him up and hit enter the boy seemed tired of what he thought was a game or teasing. Perhaps he'd thing he was delusional, either way something odd happened; he was already registered.

Looking into it he'd type out a few codes as his niece began to play with her device. Could it be this boy was already a tamer and hadn't known it. As he skimmed through the data he'd see a listing for Calumon pop up as he shifted back to look at him.

"I suppose you are already registered...your a bigger fan then you let on. It says Calium was your partner of choice too, it has nice pretty eyes compared to jackie's."

He teased as he noted a Calumon pop it's head out behind the boy. Handing him the device he'd motion with his eyes for the Calumon to follow them.

"Alright, lets gather your things and head back before they worry. I think I'm gonna grab a few stuff animals."

He'd say leaving a few more bills behind and saying good bye to his friend. Leading the kids out he'd Placing them in the back seat between them The Calumon would be one of them eyes shifting during the ride upon the boy.

Once they arrived back at the park he'd smile and hand them their stuff from the trunk. Insisting the boy take the Calumon he'd smile.

"You call me if you need anything or your device acts up. Here is my number"

He said ruffling his hair and handing him a piece of paper with his information on it. Almost assuming he'd call once he figure out Calumon was alive or changed shape.

"Oh and take care of calumon, but don't feed him after midnight."

He'd chuckle as he walked off leaving the two kids behind with their things. A warm smile passing as he met a tamer who didn't even know what was going on yet; how interesting. He'd keep an eye on the kid and contact if he could.
